A Deadly Mistake
You have been through quite a lot since you joined the Program. From fighting Mob Bosses to being bonded with an alien symbiote.
But, what ever became of Felicia and Cat? When you left, she was once again on her own. She continued her work but after you took down Tombstone and Hammerhead, work became rougher.
So she had to take what she could get.
And it would come to haunt you forever.
Monster:
Year 1
Felicia sat at the table she had purchased from a furniture store back at her hideout. On the table was a layout of the building she had to break into.
Cat: This place has high level security.
Felicia: I know. But there's a few weak spots. I think we should focus on those.
Cat agreed. Felicia marked down the areas she would look into more and made notes regarding the various entrances and exits.
This whole thing would be so much easier with you. But you weren't here. So she had to do it herself.
And what was it they were doing? Well, they were doing a job for a shady organization that wanted an important asset that was being held in this Oscorp Lab.
Cat: Just saying, those AIM guys really gave me the creeps. The way they talked and acted was just bizarre. Almost like they were robots or something.
Felicia: Yeah, well, this job will keep the lights on and keep us warm for another few months.
Felicia looked over to her bed then to the corner you used to sleep. It was empty now, but she still liked to think that you would randomly appear there.
Either to stay with her, or take her away somewhere better.
She didn't like to think about it for long. It always hurt to.
---------------
Y/N: A concert?
Miles nodded.
Miles: I was supposed to go with a friend of mine but he bailed. Figured you would like to go since I got an extra ticket.
You were in the tower watching TV when he swung onto the balcony. Viv was currently out with Nadia, introducing her to Vision, and Widow was doing God knows what God knows where.
He held up the ticket and you read what it said. The Mary Janes? Wasn't that, like, a drug?
Venom: Weed? I'm in.
Y/N: I never heard of this band before. Well, I haven't heard of a lot of bands before.
Miles smiled.
Miles: Well, this band is a bit different. The concert is in New York, just not in our New York.
You raised a brow as Miles pulled down his sleeve. Just below his wrist shooters was a watch like device.
Miles: This let's me travel between dimensions. I got it after this whole spider thing that's not really important right now.
He pulled his sleve back up and looked at you.
Miles: So, you in?
Y/N: I get to travel to a new dimension and go to a concert for the first time in my life? Hell yeah I'm in!
You jumped up as Miles smirked.
Miles: Sweet. I'll wait here.
You nodded and hurried to your room to get ready. Talk about a fun night.
-----------
Cat: This night sucks.
It was currently raining in New York as Cat leaped from building to building toward her target. She was now in her Black Cat gear which was zipped up to the neck for once in an attempt to stay warm.
Cat: I am so sneaking into that bathhouse later.
Felicia: We can worry about that later. I think it's up here.
Cat followed Felicia's directions and landed on the final rooftop. She looked out in front of her and found a warehouse in the middle of Brooklyn. She crouched down as she looked at it.
Cat: So, vents or window?
Felicia: Neither. Both had highly sensitive trips. You'll need to enter from the skylight.
Cat looked at the rooftop and noticed the skylight. She threw out her grapple and swung her way over. She landed and walked over to the skylight. Locked. Of course it was.
If you were here you could've just.....
No. No. You weren't here. No point in thinking about it.
Cat reached into her pocket and pulled out her lock pick. She got to work as the rain grew worse.
Her hair was tied up but whatever was loose was now sticking to her face.
Finally, she got the lock open. She opened the skylight and attached her grapple to the edge of the roof. She then began to lower herself down slowly.
Felicia: There's lasers all around.
Cat nodded and stopped. She tied the line around her ankle and allowed herself to hang upside down before she pulled out another item from her pouch. It was a small can which she sprayed into the open air.
Every laser was now visible.
Cat: Seesh. You weren't kidding.
Felicia: Let's see here. The braker box should be on the east wall. Once you disable it, you'll have 30 seconds before the alarms are tripped. After that, you have a 1 minute window to get out of here with the asset.
Cat: Copy that, kitty cat.
Cat smirked as she spotted the box. She lifted her wrist and took aim. From there, she fired a small bolt into it which disabled everything.
30 seconds.
Cat dropped from the line and landed elegantly on the ground. She then scanned the room for a moment.
There!
She spotted the metal container which held her treasure inside. She quickly made her way to it and got to work with trying to pry it open.
Then, the alarms began to ring.
Felicia: One minute!
Cat: I know! I know. Almost, got it.
She finally managed to open the box and she smiled. She swung the door open and looked inside. There was only one thing in here. She grabbed it and looked at it.
A glass container with red liquid inside.
Felicia: Ew. It looks like it's moving.
Cat: Alright. We got what we came for. Time for us to...
Suddenly, she froze when she heard one of the doors open. She ducked behind a nearby desk and peeked over to see several men, all armed, enter the warehouse.
Guard: Keep an eye out! Mr. Osborn doesn't want to lose anything!
The men all nodded and began to spread out.
Cat: Well, shit.
--------------
Y/N: Woah.
Miles: Right?
You looked around at the New York Miles brought you to. Everything seemed so familiar yet everything was so vastly different. Zola-Cola, JPhone, M&N's, FedY. Everything was also had an oddly purple-ish hue to it.
Y/N: This is so cool.
Venom: Ssssmellssss the ssssame.
Miles: Come on. The venue is up here.
You nodded and followed him. You ended up at club of some kind which you were allowed in since you had tickets. Apparently this was a 21 and over type of deal, but Miles got his tickets from a member of the band you came to watch.
Y/N: So, who is this chick you know?
Venom: You two fucking?
Miles: Her name is Gwen. She's another Spider Person actually.
You and Miles made your way through the crowd. Miles looked around before you felt someone bump into you.
???: Sorry...oh! Y/N! Long time no see!
You and Miles looked to the girl who bumped into you. She suddenly hugged you which made you tense up.
Who the hell was this?
She let go of you and noticed Miles.
???: Yo, Morales! What's up, dude?
She hugged him and Miles seemed to know her. But you didn't. And this was a different world.
Miles: Hey, Betty.
The girl, Betty, took a step back and looked at the two of you.
Betty: I didn't know you two knew each other.
You looked at Miles with a raised brow.
Miles: Well, uh, this isn't your Y/N.
Betty looked at you for a moment before her eyes went wide.
Betty: Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I thought....my bad.
You just waved it off.
Y/N: Uh, can someone explain what the hell is going on?
Betty: Oh, so, me and you were classmates in this world.
In this world. Wait...
Miles: Betty knows about me and Gwen. She also knows I'm not from here.
Betty: Yeah. So, uh, sorry about hugging you again.
You just shrugged.
Y/N: Easy mistake. I think? Wait, so if I exist in this world....
Miles: Long story. The you in this world could be vastly different with different parents and thoughts and whatnot. I'll explain it later. Want something to drink?
------------
Cat slowly made her way to another desk as the men continued to search for her.
Felicia: This is bad.
She was right. While she could hold her own, she could only do so much against this many guys with guns.
She rolled to another cover has she inched her way to the exit. From there she could make a break for it.
Guard: Sir!
The head guard looked over to his subordinate as he pointed to the open safe.
Guard: They have the symbiote! Don't let them leave here alive!
Felicia: Symbiote?
Cat: So the orders are no shoot on sight. Shit.
Cat took a deep breath and waited for the man to turn around before she lunged over the counter and kneeled down to avoid being seen. She crawled her way around to the side.
The exit was only a few more desks away. She could make it. She just had to be quick.
Felicia: Oh no!
Cat froze when two lights shined right in her. Her eyes grew wide when she realized she was trapped on both sides. Time seemed to slow down as the men aimed their guns at her all at once.
She nearly called out to you, but the bitter realization that you weren't here to save her made her stop.
Was this it?
Guard: Fire!
Bullets began to rain upon her. Metal pierced her skin and tore through her muscle. Blood splattered on the wall and suddenly, the entire world was blank.
The men unloaded their clips before they stopped and looked at the thief's body that was now nearly nothing but a pile of blood and flesh.
Guard: Call it in.
One of his men nodded and moved to the side to make the call.
Felicia laid there, lifeless, as the rain from the skylight dripped down onto her face.
So, this was the end for the Black Cat, huh? Such a tragedy.
???: Allow me.
Guard: Sir?
The head guard turned back around as something began to happen. From the glass canister that was shattered from the gunfire came the red substance. It began to coat Felicia's body which caused the men to start to reload.
Felicia found her eyes opening again. Her wounds were being healed and she was regaining her life again.
Felicia: What is this?
She slowly rolled over to her stomach as the red substance covered her body. She then pushed herself up to her feet as the men all stepped back out of fear.
Cat: Does it matter? We're alive. And I'm pissed.
???: Me too. I'll free you both from this place.
She turned around to face the guards as they all aimed their guns at her once again.
???: Shall we, ladies?
Cat smiled.
Cat: Let's.
Guard: Fire! Fire!
Cat smiled as the symbiote covered her head. Then, she lunged forward.
-------------
Y/N: So, basically, it's best to just avoid the me in this world?
Miles: Yep. But Betty said that you were in Florida so you don't have anything to worry about.
Well, that was nice. So basically nothing mattered in this world in terms of you. Great.
The lights dimmed and eveeyone began to move to the stage.
Miles: The show is starting. Come on.
You nodded and finished you drink before you followed Miles toward the stage.
Announcer: Ladies and gents, it is an absolute honor to present to you, the Mary Janes!
The crowd cheered which you joined in. The lights on the stage turned on which revealed four women. Betty was one of them.
Miles: The one of the drums is Gwen.
You looked at the drummer to find a blonde who was honestly cute.
Venom: Other world pusssssy. Ssscore!
Gwen tapped her sticks together and the band started playing. They were loud. They were aggressive.
They were good.
But you didn't get to enjoy it for very long. For some reason, half way through the second song, you felt something. Like something was wrong.
You looked around confused while everyone else enjoyed the show.
Venom: Kid?
You moved to a spot where no one could see you as Venom appeared on your shoulder.
Y/N: Do you feel that? What the hell is happening?
Venom: I don't know. But it feelsss like sssssomething evil jusssst woke up.
You looked around but nothing was out of the blue.
Miles: Y/N?
You looked at the taller boy.
Y/N: Dude, something is wrong. I don't know what but, Venom feels it to.
Miles looked at the stage and did a hand gesture. The drummer, Gwen, nodded and Miles helped you out of the venue.
Y/N: I'm sorry.
Miles: It's all good, dude. Let's head back.
You nodded as Miles pulled out his watch.
------------
Cat stood over the bodies of the guards who had shot her. The symbiote slowly allowed her to regain her body back but she was left in a torn uniform.
Felicia: What was that?
???: That, my dear, was absolute carnage. Those bastards had it coming.
Felicia: You killed them!
Cat: They killed us first.
Felicia: That's not how we do things! What would Y/N say....
Cat: Y/N isn't here, Felicia! He left.
Felicia was quiet for a moment as the symbiote moved to her arm.
Felicia: You say that, but you miss him too. I know you do.
Cat lowered her head and sighed.
Cat: Of course I miss him. I loved him to. But he's gone. And we need to survive.
Felicia: But not like this. I don't want any more blood on my hands, Cat!
Cat looked at the red ring that was now on her arm. In the heat of the moment, she really did want to kill those men. They killed her, after all.
But Felicia was right. They weren't killers.
Cat: Fine. We have a job to do anyway.
???: Oh, I know. I saw it all. And I'm sorry to say, but I'm not going.
Cat: What?
Suddenly, the red goo leaped off her body and began to leap from desk to desk.
???: I will not be captured again. I will be free. Free as a bird.
Felicia: You have to catch him! We need him for the job!
Cat rushed to catch up to the symbiote but it was already long gone. Cat was left standing in the rain with police sirens echoing through the air.
Cat: Coppers. We have to go.
Felicia: But the job....
Cat: Screw the job, Felicia! We're lucky to get out of here with our lives.
Felicia just agreed. Cat was right. They were lucky to be alive right now.
Cat threw out her grapple and swung away to avoid the police. But, the symbiote ended up heading the other way.
It took a while before it found itself in a rundown apartment complex. It inched it's way through the cracks and holes. It passed by many things. A man beating a woman, two degenerates going at it, a man with a gun to his head.
But it smelt something in the air.
Something much more evil.
More powerful.
It made it to apartment 66. There, he found a young man sitting at a table across from two figures.
???: I had a lovely day today. Remember that girl I've been telling you about? Tje one in my biology class? I finally spoke to her.
The symbiote made it's way into the apartment and moved towards the boy.
???: I told her a joke. But she didn't laugh. That was fine. It wasn't a very good joke.
The symbiote stopped and looked to the two figures.
???: But then again, she was gagged, so maybe she would've laughed.
The boy was sitting across two decaying corpses of a man and a woman.
???: But that bitch had the audacity to start crying! Now, I'm a simple man. You know this. But, I do have your temper, father. So, I stabbed her in the wrist. Then her stomach. Than her gut. Then her eye. She had such pretty eyes.
The symbiote watched as the boy lowered his head.
???: But, she wasn't like he was. That boy I told you about. The new kid at school. No, that one was different. Very different.
???: Y/N.
The boy looked up at the voice but found nothing. But he smiled.
???: Yes. Yes, that's his name.
???: His name is Y/N.
The boy started to laugh.
???: Yes! How did you know?
???: I listened. I heard you. And I can help you. Tell me your name.
The boy grinned even wider.
???: My name is Cletus.
???: Well, Cletus, how would you like to be able to hurt Y/N has much as you liked?
Cletus: I would like that very much.
The symbiote slowly made it to the boy's foot and began to cover it.
???: Very well, then allow me to help you. Together, we will paint this entire city a beautiful red.
Cletus: I do love red. I love red so very much.
???: I know. I can see it. I can see everything about you. You need not fear, child. I am here now.
Cletus began to laugh as the symbiote covered his body. As the woman who was getting beaten stopped breathing, as the degenerate finished inside his partner, as the man pulled the trigger, Celtus laughed. And the symbiote laughed with him.
Cletus: I think we will be such lovely friends.
???: I do as well.
Cletus: What's your name, pal?
???: My name will be yours. And yours will be mine. And together, we will be...
Carnage!
