Without saying a word nandini just hugged navya tight as her brain started processing the information.......her heart was still thumping at high speed while nandini tried to calm down her nerves........peace seeped down her body as she realized that manik was still there with her.....that everything was going to be okay.....they both will enjoy living with their children in their own little word.....all that overwhelmed her so much and a tear left from her eye as she parted away from navya

Manik theek hai she asked in worried tone and her face went pale in a minute

G wo bilkul theek hai nandini said as she took nyonika towards the bed and after they got seated nandini held her hand and said in excited tone

He woke up she said excitedly....her facial muscles flexed and a beautiful smile appeared on Nandini's face while announcing the news and nyonika shed happy tears ohhh my lord she said with shaking lips

Mera bacha...thank God she joined her hands in praying position as she cried and nandini hugged her stop crying otherwise mein bhi rona shuruh kar dnge she said blinking her eyes as they both were very happy and it was coming out in the form of tears........nyonika chuckled as they parted away

Okay m going bye she said as she hugged her and went away while nyonika sat on bed as she tied her hairs...........moving hand on her face tiredly she pulled out the side table drawer and picked up a photo from it......it was manik's childhood photo where he was smiling to his fullest showing his 2 teeth......his brown orbs were shining and hair spread over his forehead......caressing the picture nyonika smiled as she attached the photo to her heart and lied down drowning herself in his thoughts

As soon as she came near manik's room she found dr dhingra and aryaman standing there discussing sth......seeing her standing all overwhelmed dr dhingra moved towards her

Will u plzz give me details of room 14 patient's vital signs and do his examination also he commanded in gentle tone and nandini nodded with a red face and a smile on her face..it was manik's room....aryaman handed her the necessary instruments for examination along with his stethoscope as she marched towards the door

As she opened the door her eyes fell straight on manik who was lying with his head turned to one side and one arm slightly flexed and resting on his abdomen......this made her so happy...she was dying to see this....seeing his changed posture was enough to make her heart swell with happiness......she knocked at the door to gain his attention and then stepped inside to see him struggling to react to the voice.....he opened his eyes finally and his gaze landed on nandini.......Nandini's heart thumped at his single gaze as she looked into his beautiful orbs........his bright shining eyes had confusion but still it brought a new energy into her

M doctor nandini she preferred to introduce herself as a doctor rather than referring about their intimate relationship.....her heart was pushing her to just throw herself on him and hug him tight but that was not the right time......his eyes showed confusion...he was disturbed and pushing him to remember everything at that time could be dangerous......it could make him restless and agitated

Manik relaxed a bit but still their was frown on his forehead

Where m I?? He asked and his heavy voice made a lump in Nandini's throat.....how much she missed him speaking like that

In hospital she said as though her emotions were messing up she didnt forget that she was a doctor too

What happend to me he asked as he tried to get up by putting weight on his one arm as the other one was covered in pop....but soon stopped as he groaned in pain and fell back on same place....

R u okay she asked as she approached closer to support him and he just nodded

U would have asked me to help u she said in gentle tone and manik frowned b4 making a face

I dont need any help in arrogant tone as he removed her hand from his hairs , he was getting irritated by this and unknowingly a smile appeared on Nandini's face......no matter what his attitude was always there with him

Mera saru as the thought crossed her mind she smiled to herself

Okay she said with a small smile as she continued u met with an accident and u were in comma she answered his question and manik said nothing

I have to examine u...is it okay for u??? She asked for his consent and he nodded least interested in her...nandini explained him the whole procedure and then asked again can I touch u she asked getting her instruments ready and manik once again nodded

Frm checking his vitals to checking his sensory and motor system....she also asked some questions to check his mental status and his cognitive functioning

Thnku so much she said as she took a step away.....she was happy with his progress....although he had trouble breathing and he had pains throughout the body bcz of injuries he suffered...he might feel difficulty in walking too but still it was much better.......nandini kept staring at him as she really wanted to touch him to hug him for once but seeing the angry monster she knew it would make him more angry so she dropped the idea and just went towards the door.....as she turned around to take a last look at him she saw him already looking at her....she smiled but he just looked away and it couldn't even decrease a single frown on his face

Why is she getting so Frank with me he thought making a face while on the other side as soon as nandini closed the door she said shaking her head

Ohhh my God.....itna ghussa she exclaimed as she thought about her angry bird smiling on her own....as she was passing thru the corridor she briefed a nurse about manik's condition and how to give him medicines.....she then came outside and saw her frnds sitting there waiting for her....they all got up seeing her and nandini smiled brightly

How's he was everyone's question....she smiled and said

As handsome as always hiding her face with the report file she said and they all hooted keeping their voices low while she blushed at it

Ahmm ahmm is it the same nandini who was devastated an hour ago navya teased her and nandini just slapped the file on her arm

Next morning the whole clan was once again present in hospital and this time they did communicate with him a little trying to make him feel comfortable and he quite enjoyed their company specially cabir as he kept cracking jokes

In evening nandini came back to his room to see dhruv and cabir sitting there and manik was resting....she went towards him and ruffled his hair

How was his day she asked in whispering tone and cabir showed thumbs up while dhruv explained her about manik's routine...nandini moved towards them and asked not wanting to disturb his sleep

What did he eat.....was he feeling any problem.....did he complaint about pain? He had his medicines right ?? She asked in concerned tone......

Take a breath nandini dhruv intervened as he patted her shoulder.......his eyes scanned her face which showed how tired she was but still nothing was more important than manik's health

He is okay...he chatted with us....we made sure he takes proper meal and nurse also gave him his medicines on time he said and nandini gave him a small smile.....she turned around and moved towards manik's bed and looked at his face as a smile immediately appeared on her face.....she moved her hand over his face....she badly wanted to kiss him but she was scared that he would wake up and then it would bcm difficult to handle him.......soon giving infront of her wishes she leaned closer for her lips to touch his facial skin but at that very moment manik opened his eyes and nandini jumped away freaking at his sudden move......manik scrunched his eyebrows seeing her so close to him......he tried to get up seeing strange people near him....nandini saw his confusion and said

It's okay....m dr nandini she tried to soothe him and he relaxed a bit

M here to check u up she made up a sentence as she didnt think of anything else than that and manik nodded not remembering the fact that a doctor did his checkup an hour ago

Yes buddy relax dhruv said as he thought to help manik to sit up but manik's words froze him

Who r u...who r they he asked confused and although nandini had warned them they felt like someone punched their hearts....he was unable to recall anything but nandini handled the matter as she introduced them as manik's frnds.......she checked his pulse and temp. And then checked his file where an ophthalmologist had written his remarks after 3 consecutive checkups from the night he got his consciousness back that his eyesight was getting weak due to head trauma and that he should be wearing spectacles as soon as possible to stop further decline in eyesight but even they were not sure whether it would work or not .....this saddened nandini more as she averted her gaze from papers to manik who was now talking in a friendly way with a beautiful smile on his face

Aur Kia kuch hona baaqi hai she thought and she felt so emotional......bading bye to them she left the room as she dragged herself thru the corridor when cabir came behind her running

Nandini he said in consoling way as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder

M fine she passed a little smile

His eyesight is deteriorating and we dont even know if glasses would able to help him or not she said and cabir stopped for a moment.......it was really very concerning......but then cabir put a smile on his face

Jab tak tm sath ho kuch nhi hota use.....see we were scared whether he would come out of coma or not but he did.....it will be alright also he said and nandini wiped edges of her eyes and raised her head smiling at cabir......

Yes he will.... she said with confidence and cabir smiled as he accompanied her till parking lot and even her constant resistance couldn't stop her from dropping her at home as he wanted to make sure she stay okay

It was night and nandini and nyonika was sitting together and nandini was looking quite fresh unlike her evening condition when she came home......though nyonika wanted to know about her son but she could see that nandini was a little down and she made sure to feed her properly and asked or rather ordered her to take some rest and then they were sitting in lounge when nandini was ready to tell her everything about manik....

He is okay dont worry she said as she could see nyonika's agitated state

Did he talk....what did he say....was he feeling normal she asked multiple questions at once and nandini smiled at her concern.......placing her mug on coffee table she got up to sit next to nyonika as she held her hand

Yes he talked alot....he asked alot of questions nandini said trying not to spill anything that could hurt nyonika in any way but she could see her hope filled eyes which were asking question again and again as whether he said sth about her or not.....nandini averted her gaze not able to be strong enough to shatter her hopes

Aur Kia kha usne nyonika asked once more and nandini said just random stuff

He didnt say anything about me nyonika's restless heart atlast forced her to ask the question she wanted to ask from the very first moment and nandini sighed as she looked at her

He doesnt remember anything she spilled a bomb on nyonika whose face went pale at the revelation......a deep silence fell over and nandini rubbed her face to compose herself and nyonika understood everything as to why was nandini so dull and drained in the evening

Not even a single thing at that time nyonika badly wished for her to say that atleast he remembered his wife or his frnds.....it was painful for her to live without her son around but not more painful than seeing him struggling for everything all over again...trying to start his new life and still unable to free himself from his past

No nandini said and nyonika blinked her eyes multiple times to stop the tears from spilling out

He is going to be okay nandini said as she raised nyonika's face by holding her chin....removing her spectacles she wiped her teary eyes and then hugged her

I wont be able to see him struggling all over again she said in shaky tone and a lone tear left Nandini's eyes too....sniffing she parted herself from nyonika and said

He is very strong....m sure he will surpass this too she said and then to cheer her up she said

U know what he was so angry....he was getting irritated nandini chuckled as she told her the whole day routine and it brought smile on nyonika's face...at the end she suggested that nyonika should visit her if she want to as manik knew nothing and she also agreed

Manik was sitting on bed when the door cracked open.....he turned his head to look at the door to see an old lady standing there.....her eyes were glued to him only.....manik narrowed his eyes trying to recall who she was but it seemed the lady guessed his confused state and said

M ur mother manik eyes lit up at her introduction and his face beamed with happiness.......he had a family he thought as he was so scared to ask someone about it as since the night he woke up he didnt see anyone introducing herself/himself as his family member

Meanwhile nyonika came in and went towards his bed

U r my mom he asked in happy tone and nyonika smiled in between her tears.....she was happy hearing the word maa from his mouth but the thought of him unable to recall anything was killing her........

M fine dont cry manik held her hand and then side hugged nyonika who was sitting on stool......he rubbed her shoulder from his one hand and after sometime parted away as he kissed her forehead........he gently wiped her tears and his actions was so gentle towards her that it made her cry more......

Where were u....I was waiting for my family from past 1.5 days he said and nyonika just caressed his face.....what she failed to realize was that he who was forgetting everything despite constant reminder was able to recall that he didnt meet someone from his family

M sorry she said with a smile and manik also smiled at her......manik lowered himself on bed as he asked her to sit on head side of bed so that he could place his head on her lap.......

I thought I have no family he said and it stabbed nyonika badly......they all thought that he had forgotten everything but the thing they forgot to realize was that he was still a man with emotions......he needed his family

A mother doesnt need to apologise to her children he said resting his hand above hers and nyonika just ruffled his hair affectionately

What did u eat in breakfast she asked and manik opened his mouth to answer

I ate....... he said and it was followed by a long pause....nyonika who was observing his every expressions could see the number of creases increasing on his forehead

What did I eat he mumbled in confusion as he was unable to recall it...agitated he raised himself in sitting position

Why m unable to recall it he said in frustration when nyonika intervened

It's okay manik...we all forget things she said rubbing his arm....he shook his head with a red face

No its not...I know m having trouble recalling things.....m unfamiliar to my past he said as he punched his bed mattress in frustration

I know nothing about my past his voice held pain of losing his part of life and nyonika's eyes held a painful expression at his agony

After sometime nandini barged into the room to see the cutest scene infront of him.....manik was sleeping like a baby in nyonika's lap while she was busy stroking his hair

He slept she whispered and nyonika nodded with a brightest smile on her face.....it was the first time nandini had seen such glow on her face

So I guess both mother and son has spend quite gud time together she said and nyonika smiled more at her words

I cant tell u how happy I m rn.....I missed it she then bent down and kissed his forehead after pushing his hair back....

Okay how did he act....did his physiotherapist came??? Nandini asked as she checked his file simultaneously while nyonika briefed about his routine about how the ophthalmologist came to check his eyesight and also instructed to wear his spectacles throughout the day......his physio also helped him in doing exercise while nurse also gave him his medicines on time.....nandini after hearing nyonika observed his specs resting on table and then she shifted her gaze back on file where doctor had remarked that they would check his eyesight for 3 consecutive days and the first day went well.....reading remarks she smiled as her heart thanked God multiple times

In evening she again entered into room to see cabir sitting on sofa while nyonika was sitting beside him and manik was talking to them.....she had bowl of fruits in her hand as she entered she said hello in a friendly way only to be answered by everyone except manik who rolled his eyes as no doctor acted in that way like she was acting.....she pouted at his rude act but didnt mind as she sat on stool next to him and introduced herself

M doctor nandini he said and manik just nodded trying to stay a little calm

Ur fruits she said as she pulled out fruit with the help of fork and brought it near his mouth but he pulled his head back as he said

I will eat it....u can go she was clearly trying to act much nicer to him he thought as his eyes rolled back at his thought

It's okay....m free now and taking care of my patient is my duty nandini said not really liking him pushing her away but she stayed cool as their was no other option....nandini pushed the fork more infront of his mouth and he opened it taking all the fruit from fork and chewing it as he looked at his mother and cabir who were smiling looking at him

He is getting irritated cabir whispered and nyonika smiled more as she glanced at her son and daughter in law

Maa what r u guys talking he intervened not liking to stay quiet and see both of them chatting instead of helping him to get rid of this clingy doctor

Nothing special....tm fruit khao...itne weak hogye ho she said as her gaze shifted towards nandini who was waiting from eternity to make him eat sth but he wasn't interested.....nandini on getting the signal held fork in air infront of his mouth and manik quietly put the fruit in his mouth and then took the bowl from her hand and this time nandini just let him do that as he was atleast eating sth.....she got up and went thru his files once again to spend some more time in the room when manik asked his mother who had come to sit beside him

Where is baba he asked in low tone and though it was meant to be audible to nyonika only.....nandini heard it too as she had her whole focus on manik only

Manik first finish the bowl nyonika said to divert his attention and manik sensed it

Do I only have u as my family?? he wanted to know everything related to him but noone was telling him clearly.....nyonika raised her head and passed a helpless look to nandini who was already staring at her waiting for her answer.......

Manik their is something u need to know nandini gained courage to speak the truth meanwhile cursing herself for making a bad decision of not telling him about her relationship from day one

I m ur wife she threw a bomb at manik who stopped chewing what he had in mouth......

What the hell he mouthed disgusted of what he heard........his blood boiled....everyone could see his face turning red and his vein on forehead starting bulging showing his anger......angrily he threw bowl of fruits on ground which spilled its contents in rzlt

I knew it......the way u were flirting with me I knew u have no shame he spitted in angry tone as he was unable to get himself to think sth complicated like that and nandini just gulped saliva preparing herself to bear more

Stop manik......she is right nyonika intervened to stop him from speaking any rubbish

For God's sake.....she was my doctor a moment ago....u all told me the same thing and now u r making her my wife he said annoyed and no one know how to make him believe that........he rubbed his temple in frustration as the silence fell in room....but manik broke the silence one again as he pulled out his cannula

I dont want to continue my treatment here he said in firm tone as he removed the pulse oximeter......in anger he forgot that he had a wound on chest and tried to get up swiftly but had to stop in midway when he felt piercing pain in his right side of chest......

Ahhhhhhhh a groan left his mouth as he threw himself back on bed while his hand travelled to rest on his wound area....it concerned the trio present in room as nyonika asked

Manik?? She called hoping it wasnt much serious but his red face and closed eyes were telling some other tale......he was biting his lower lip to stop himself from saying anything.......he opened his eyes at his mother's voice and despite in pain he patted her hand with a small smile on his face

Nandini moved forward knowing he was in pain....she wanted to check what had happened as she was a step or two away from manik when he growled

Stop right there his voice was rigid and nandini bit her lip to stop herself from crying......it was getting too much for her to handle

Manik opened few buttons of his shirt and moved it away to see his chest and blood was oozing out of that a little while his stitches were torn and surgical incision was opened showing his flesh

Cabir doctor ko bula he said as he wiped the surrounding blood stained area with tissue

Zayda pain horha hai nyonika asked resting her hand on his bicep concerned about him

Kuch nhi Hua...relax he said in comforting way....he was completely ignoring nandini and finding herself useless there nandini opened the door and quietly left...she raised her eyes to see her frnds standing out....sucking in a sharp breath she pushed her tears back as she put on a smile making herself realise that it wasn't a big deal....that her manik wouldnt have said anything like that if he would be in a normal state.....all her frnds passed her a smile as she approached closer to them

How's he navya asked and nandini nodded her head as she said with a smile much better without giving them a hint of what happened to her in room

They all asked various questions to which she replied in an optimistic way when from behind cabir came and placed hand on her shoulder....nandini looked at him and he whispered

I have sent the doctor he informed and meanwhile his hand pressed her arm in comforting way

Pareshaan ho he asked and this time their frnds who had their ears on the task to find what they were talking got the hint of their conversation and they asked

Is everything okay.....u guys are hiding sth from us they enquired raising eyebrows and nandini huffed as she sat on a bench

Why would we hide anything.....its just that manik got angry she said in plain tone not telling them the whole scenario

So???? He was supposed to behave like this.....ain't we all already knew about it navya asked crossing her hand and cabir looked at her with annoyed face

1 to ye detective paida hogye hai he muttered and navya who was not at much distance from him slapped his chest

I told him that m his wife and he isnt ready to buy it and obviously he got angry she shrugged her shoulder making it seem so light that it was of no concern....

Cabir did u notice he called u by ur name today and he knew what I have told him about our relation in past days she said and after taking a pause cabir mumbled

It means that he is able to recall some bits of information dhruv completed cabir's sentence and nandini nodded her head agreeing to him

But why is he unable to recall even a single memory of him and nandini...??? Aliya looked confused

Bcz his mind is able to remember and recall the information of these few days.......but his past is still unknown to him she said and she felt someone squeezing her heart as she said the last few words

Nandini came early into hospital as she wanted to see manik....she spent the whole previous day without even going to his room for once just bcz she knew him and his anger.....thinking that he would be asleep at that time she opened the door and her luck was with her as she him sleeping.....happily nandini barged into the room and a smile appeared on her face seeing him.....she moved closer and her one hand travelled to his forehead......pushing his hair back she kissed his forehead
