Life has stopped moving for nandini.....no matter how much she tried she was unable to get herself out of that depression zone where everything happened to manik bcz of her......bcz he wanted to protect her he sacrificed himself......she used to recall how the man who didnt even say sorry for the meanest things he did to someone was literally begging infront of his biggest enemy down on his knees for Nandini's life....how she used to hate herself for showing hatred to him at that time..........all that was more than enough to make her feel guilty.....she stopped taking care of herself.....she reduced her intake and whatever she was taking was also being vomited out bcz of her pregnancy and additional stress she was taking........she even stopped paying visit to him cuz according to her she was nothing but a danger to his life....everyone tried to make her understand that things weren't like that but no one could convince her.....she was sitting in her room with her legs folded and arms hugging them securing them closer to her chest as she laid her chin on one knee.....the door opened and revealed nyonika coming holding a tray of food.....nyonika was the one taking care of her food....trying to make her eat small portions time to time and if she wasnt succeeding at it , it wasnt other way round too........
Nandini raised her head and nyonika could see she was tired from battling too many battles all alone along with pregnancy which was surely messing up her mood......she felt pity on her....it was supposed to be the most precious moments of her life which had nothing but uncertainty now

Nandini try to come out of room...talk to everyone....they all come for u and u dont say a word she said as all her frnds had made a habit of visiting her trying to get her to say sth ,cheer her up...it used to help her for those moments but she used to go back to same struggling phase when she was left alone

Dil nhi karta she said the same single sentence which they all had been hearing since the day 1...nyonika rubbed her hand in affection and nandini looked at her....nyonika tugged her hair strand which was already in its perfect place and looked around encouraging herself to start a conversation while nandini all the time kept staring at her

I waited 15 years for this time to come when I will be free from harsh she started and nandini just didnt find one logical reason of why she would start this conversation.....did nyonika want sympathies??? But instead of voicing it out nandini decided to listen anyways

I fanticised mine and manik's normal relationship in these 15 years.......whenever I broke down the only thing that kept me going was the thought that some day I would be in this house enjoying with my only son she said and her face depicted pain.....nandini who was planning to let it skip and pay no heed to her words averted her attention to nyonika and listened to her carefully..... she could see pain in her words too

But see what happened......my son he is fighting for his life her voice shivered as tears rolled down her eyes

Nandini u have everyone beside u.....ur father, ur frnds and even urs and manik's baby.....I have no one.....the only person I was wishing to be with me is on life support...... if m dragging myself then how can u loose ur hope

It is ur hope she placed hand on Nandini's belly.... how can u give up so early on him she said with teary eyes and nandini just stared at the lady infront of her who had so much pain stored inside her

Why u have stopped visiting him......he responds to ur words....u can motivate him to fight all this nyonika requested in begging tone he is too young to be lying like this on bed she said as more tears rolled down her eyes

Why u did all that if he is so important to u she wanted to ask whether it was guilt or genuine care but she couldn't get herself to be rude to nyonika again

Ur second marriage ruined him emotionally and mentally......his personality got destroyed

I got scared... I didn't want something bad to happen to him she said and it irritated nandini further

He was getting beaten by ur family mercilessly she said and nyonika lowered her head as she nodded it in agreement

I have always been threatened in past about the things which are happening to manik now.......he threatened to kill manik if I dont do what harsh was asking me to do she said and Nandini's eyes widened in shock.....she looked at nyonika who was crying bitterly after revealing everything infront of her.....nandini gently encased her hands around nyonika's shoulder pulling her for a hug....patting her back she waited for her to compose herself and left as she saw nyonika wiping her tears.....nandini pushed her fingers against her eye bags collecting her tears

May be manik would have b5e fine sitting besides u if for once I had tried to defy harsh and stand up for ourselves nyonika blamed and nandini shook her head

It's not ur fault.....u suffered much for his life she said gently while nyonika fought with her tears.....looking at her nandini remembered how harsh she was to nyonika from past few days.....blaming her for everything when she was the one guarding manik's life from so long

Sorry for being harsh she said and nyonika smiled shaking her head it's okay

Can I call u maa she asked with hope....she suddenly started feeling so much love for nyonika......missing her mom made her feel worse......

U r my manik's wife....obviously u can she said with utmost love and adoration...nyonika's eyes shone at manik's name

U me manik and our baby...such a cute family nandini imagined and adoration filled her face.......her eyes sparkled at the thought and nyonika smiled yes soon she assured nandini and then asked nandini to start eating....in between they talked about so many things about manan's marriage journey and everything .....of course nandini skipped the bad phase as she didnt want to recall it.....by the end of day she was in a pretty gud mood

Next day nandini woke up and after freshening up she went downstairs where nyonika was up......seeing nandini all ready she made an amazed face as she really didnt  think nandini would act on her advice....

Gud morning nandini said in cheery tone as she sat on dining chair

U r going to hospital nyonika asked in happy tone and nandini nodded.....both ate their breakfast chatting like frnds and then nandini left for hospital

Entering manik's icu she looked at his figure....he became very lean.....her heart shattered at the sight but nandini batted her eyelashes to stop herself from tearing up.......taking a deep breath she put a smile on her face as she took forward steps towards him

Hello....how r u she said as she bent down to kiss his forehead

U missed me she asked with a hope that he would answer but he stayed quiet

Okay she said getting no reply from him......she felt sad but she didnt let it overcome her but I missed u so much she said as she gently rubbed her hand on his pale face

Idhar tm itna tang karte ho mjhe....uper se ur naughty child he is not letting me sit peacefully......he keeps me drained all the time she pouted as she conversed like he was really sitting infront of her replying to her

Whenever I eat sth it gets vomited out her lips curved down to make a sad face and here u r also not helping at all she gave a light smack on his arm......she kept chatting for long when her eyes landed on the clock....it was time to go to her ward...

Byeeee.....m going she said as she ruffled his hair lovingly......she glanced at him one last time b4 going out of room and as she passed thru the corridor she came across aryaman who exclaimed in happy tone

Wohooo what a pleasant surprise....dr nandini is here he squealed engulfing her in a side hug and nandini smiled brightly at his sentence

Have u visited manik he asked and nandini nodded with a small smile to which aryaman tapped her shoulder in little more encouraging way

Let's go to ward....I have been handling ur beds too....now its ur time he fake frowned and nandini smiled at the genuine frnds she got....smacking his arm she said so rude

Proud to be he whisper shouted from back teasing her as they were in a hospital and shouting like kids was gonna do nothing but getting them thrown out of hospital

The whole day nandini spent with patients....running for them for 1 thing or other....and in all that she couldn't even get the time to visit manik again.....as her shift ended she packed up her stuff and then lazily went to manik's ward ......entering into his room she saw dr dhingra checking him....he averted his gaze from files and smiled seeing nandini infront of him

I have a gud news for u he said and nandini felt all her tiredness flying away....excitedly she dropped her bag and stethoscope on chair and went towards him

We did his MRI and although we were very scared but the results are pretty encouraging......his brain is showing improvement.... see he pointed his finger at the MRI and nandini smiled brightly.....

That's amazing she said and happiness made it difficult for her to speak properly...dr dhingra left the room after checking him and nandini stormed towards manik's bed

M so happy she said as she palmed his face.....nothing came out of her mouth but her eyes turned watery.....she wiped them and placed kisses on his each cheeks come out of it soon.... I need my husband she said and she kept talking telling him her day routine and he listened keenly like a gud listener

As soon as nandini entered home she was welcomed with a sweet aroma of food coming from kitchen....she went there and found nyonika cooking which amazed her.....nyonika went towards her and said

Jaldi se freshenup hojao.....m arranging the table she said in happy tone and nandini smiled....soon she joined nyonika in and uncovered the lid of dish

Yumm tasty nandini said and it lit her already bright mood more

These were manik's fvrt dishes.....I was free so thought to make them nyonika added as she zoned out stating the sentence  and nandini palmed her hand squeezing it a warm way

U know what manik showed improvement....his brain is working better than past days she cracked the happiest news and nyonika's eyes welled up with tears........she blinked her eyes but tears poured more out of her eyes and nandini hugged her

Days later

Hahhhhhhh Nandini woke up with heavy breath as she stared at her surroundings.......her hand moved and wiped the sweat off her face while her eyes scanned manik's aide of bed and a deep sigh left her lips ...........as the thought of manik came across her mind it brought her memories of that nightmare also and her lips shivered in fear.........unable to get peace she got up and went to get ready....in few minutes she was in porche getting the car ready for her as she wanted to go to hospital to see manik....she remained agitated throughout the journey and as soon as car stopped infront of hospital building she ran inside along with a guard who was appointed by manik.........soon she was in manik's room and she nervously looked into the machines to see everything was going well.......seeing him normal had her tears escaping out of her eyes as the tension relieved but she quietly wiped them and sat besides manik's bed.......holding his hand she entwined their fingers and rested her head on his arm feeling drained out as the thought of past few days crossed her mind where she was putting all her efforts to get him to recover soon....with so much enthusiasm and energy......all this was strenuous but she was determined to not get tired already but deep down she was breaking....her hope was getting shattered again seeing him not showing improvement......her pregnancy hormones were not helping at all.....the whole day she used to think either of manik or her unborn child who was going to come in this world in such crises........she was already feeling pity for her son/daughter as her idle mind used to think of every worst possible outcome out of manik's illness.........and cherry on top was the nightmare she saw just few minutes back...........she gripped bedsheet more tightly and a lone tear escaped from her eye and fell on manik's shirt....staring at the monitor's screen she went into sleep resting her head on manik's arm

At morning aryaman came to see manik's reports as it was his daily routine to check on him whenever he come to hospital b4 going back to his duty......as he entered into the room he saw nandini sleeping there in uncomfortable position......feeling bad for her he woke up nandini carefully and she got up rubbing her eyes.....giving her a small smile aryaman lifted manik's arm which bore Nandini's head weight throughout the night and rubbed it softly as if manik could feel pain.......nandini got up and looked around fixing her hair thru her hands I dont know when I slept.......

It's okay baby doll...u guys were looking cute btw he called her by her longlost nickname and nandini smiled as she went inside the washroom to freshenup

Let's go out aryaman said as he really wanted to know what brought her here late night as he himself dropped her at malhotra mansion yesterday's night

But manik she wanted to be with manik for some more time

He is doing gud he said and dragged her with him out of room knowing that she would just spend the whole day staring at manik's face without eating or taking rest

Aryaman stop okay....ye mere daddy ka hospital nhi I have to work to stay part of this hospital... REMEMBER she said sarcastically and aryaman just stuffed his hands in his pockets

But he pouted looking at her trying to find a gud reason to dismiss her to home

U look so cute she felt special having such frnds and M okay.....I slept also and yeah I will eat breakfast from cafe..... she said as she dragged him with her towards cafe A coffee and sandwich she ordered aryaman to bring it for her as she elegantly sat on a table.....she didn't want to make him upset by seeing his efforts go invain so she was acting normal and it was helping her also in lifting her mood

Juice and sandwich he came after a while and nandini frowned seeing glass of juice its gud for u he said considering her current state and nandini just smiled as she started eating while they chatted keeping in mind the time on which they had to be in their depts to protect themselves from their seniors wrath

Nhiii nandini slammed her head on pillow hard as she mumbled in sleep......her eyelids pressed tightly with sweat on her forehead and tension dripping from her facial muscles

Manikkkk she got up screaming his name......her breath was ragged as she felt suffocated in the darkness.....she immediately lit up the side lamps and then opened all the windows wide feeling distressed.........as cold air fell on her face she kind of came into present......her lips shivered as she tried to not cry......she looked at the swing in balcony which brought so many memories of them together.......she placed her hand on her already shivering lips as her chin also wobbled......she shut the window loudly in anger and frustation and returned to bed.....gripping the edges she lowered her head as tears escaped her eyes and fell on her PJs but she made no effort in composing herself.....she was tired of everything......things were already hard on her and cherry on top were those dreadful nightmares which made sure to deprive her of some peace at night too

Her mind recalled the nightmare she was seeing from days where she used to see manik tied up with chains all wounded but in the passing night their was an addition to it

He wanted to go and in that dream it seemed like she was the one stopping him...tying him and not letting him free

Nandini's mind thought and thought about the dream when all of sudden she reminisced cabir's word life support is very painful for patient....I have heard it from someone

She was the one who put him on life support.....so does it mean manik wants to go away from me she pointed finger at herself as she choked on her own tears

Is he going her heart cried as she thought further and tears stung her eyes badly......a fear crossed her mind as she nervously pushed aryaman's number from call log and waited impatiently pacing around the rooms while tears were all the time flowing from her eyes

Aryaman.... manik she asked in wet tone as he had night duty in hospital and aryaman replied

So u already know and there he dropped a bomb at her......she didnt want to listen further.....his sentence made her judge everything ..... she threw the phone away from her ear as she palmed her ears

No....no....no
I dont wanna hear this she cried landing on floor and she cried her heart out......she cried hysterically....she cried and cried till her eyes went dry......her mind was still unable to accept it.....

How could their love story end like this???

After sometime the door opened and navya appeared all flustered....she looked around and spotted nandini sitting at far away corner in the room......the room was dark except the light from side lamps....navya switched on the lights and looked at devastated nandini which shook her to core  .......her hair were messed up....her eyes swollen while she stared blankly at navya

Nandini navya said as she ran towards her and kneeled infront of her....holding her arms she said

Why aren't u picking up calls she asked and nandini said nothing......

Chalo hospital Jana hai manik..... navya couldn't complete her sentence when nandini snapped her harshly

I dont wanna listen anything....just go from her she tried to keep her voice firm but it still cracked at the end

Kia hogya hai nandini navya said in helpless tone and tears left Nandini's eyes but her face remained expressionless

Why r u crying.....arent u happy?? He woke up from coma navya asked and her last words made nandini lift her eyes to look at her.....shock was an understatement......she kept staring at navya for long as her mind was unable to digest everything and then she hugged navya tight without uttering a single word.....she closed her eyes tight and her grip on navya's arms tightened and she closed her eyes as a drop of tear fell from the corner of her one eye
