And the bullet sound made nandini jump on her place in fright....she stared at the screen with hollow eyes sweating profusely

Manik a sob escaped her lips as she saw him struggling to get air inside his body.......she was staring at the screen which paused at the end showing his body lying in pool of blood.....cabir who had just entered the lounge of malhotra mansion turned off the tv as he glared at his frnds who were sitting there like puppets or might be they were also numb after watching the video.....the police officials came at manik's mansion an hour ago and told them about the updates of case......they also gave them a copy of cctv footage which they found in banglow and without thinking for a second dhruv attached USB to led screen and the video started playing which had Nandini's condition worsening with every passing second

What the hell was that dhruv....u know her condition cabir sat next to him and whisper yelled at him who made a sorry face in return.......nonetheless they got up and went towards police officials who were standing with yash.....

We need more proofs against him......they have contacts with higher authorities and I fear they will get out of it if we dont find some solid proof a deadening silence fell the room as their foreheads creased and their mind fogged with different thoughts.....in no way they would let harshad and his father escape like that after what they did with manik

I will provide u proofs against them....they should get punished at any cost nyonika said as her voice shaked with anger and somewhat pain and all heads snapped at her direction but soon everyone realised it and acted as if nothing had happened but still nyonika could feel Nandini's piercing gaze as she continued briefing police officials about their illegal businesses

Why is she doing that Nandini's mind questioned as she was fine with her crying at that day....her heart might have melted seeing her son in that state but now this.....why would she even do anything to make manik's case more stronger when she hated him the most and specially when it was about her husband........she felt too drained out to think straight so she quietly dragged herself upstairs going to her room.....

As soon as she opened the door she felt strong fragrance of manik everywhere which made her close her eyes.....it was the first time she was entering their room after that dreadful incident happened.....with heavy heart she entered the room and gazed at everything in the room which reminded her of nothing else but manik.....her eyes fell on the bed and manik's folded shirt with his belonging were resting there....she remembered giving it to house help to wash the shirt...the one he wore at the day of accident......picking up the shirt she looked at it which opened as soon as she lifted it and her eyes scanned the holes that were present.....connecting the shirt with her body few tears fell from her closed eyes.....her cries changed into sobbing as she slid onto ground....she hiccuped fisting his shirt tightly as she badly missed him

I need u she said as she raised her head wiping her tears and caressed his belongings.....his favourite watch which was blood stained....slowly she got up and proceeded towards dressing table where his perfume collection was present.....she picked up his favourite perfume and sprayed it on her and inhaled a deep breath feeling him

She could feel him around her.....on the sofa working enjoying coffee standing with her at balcony laughing uncontrollably after cracking jokes about her or just dozing off cutely on the bed......moving towards his side of bed she caressed it and by pulling his shirt she covered her face with it as she laid down on his side trying to feel him

Why were u lying like this she asked concerned about her while nandini said nothing just wiped the sweat off her face as she rested her feet on ground

We got worried tm 2 ghanto (hrs) se uper ho she said and Nandini's eyes widened in shock......feeling of manik being close to her was so soothing that she actually slept for 2 hrs straight without waking up in between sleep out of fright like happening from past few days

Okay get up we r waiting for u at dinner table she said casually as she saw nandini staring at one point of room while manik's shirt was still in her hands...going out of the room she gave nandini some time to freshen up and then join them

At dinner table everyone was trying to create a normal atmosphere in the house and remove that sadness but still she couldn't get nandini to talk or say anything....she was just playing around with her rice ans barely took 2 or 3 bites but soon she stopped pretending and pushed the plate...her intake had reduced to minimum from past few days .......mukti was about to say something but navya palmed her hand eyeing her that she would handle the matter and to not raise it infront of everyone to which mukti nodded with with a smile

Everyone went to lounge and nandini who was sitting in the same posture on dinning chair staring at her entwined hands while navya came closer and tapped her shoulder come join us she was acting normally with nandini as she didnt want to make it more obvious and nandini half heartedly followed navya but her heart was too heavy to see everyone present there but not manik......she felt someone twisting her heart badly at the thought but no word escaped out of her mouth.....she was at verge of breaking but still no tears left from her eyes.....it was the verge of pain and agony.....although their frnds weren't enjoying rather the male frnds were discussing about the case against harshad and his father and how to make the case more stronger while others were just trying to make her feel okay by diverting the matter but still she felt so lonely without him.....his laughter was filling her ears and did nothing but added more to her pain

Nandini why r u not participating in conversation navya said palming her hand

Kia bolo she had nothing to say and everyone went quiet as they could feel the emptiness in her voice....she was calm but still they could feel her pain thru her eyes...navya pressed her palm warmly showing her support

Feeling silence from girl's side the boys turned their heads to find a deadening silence with nandini just staring at her palms.....

Tmhare nhi ghalti ismein...it was destined and besides how would he let u suffer infront of his eyes..it was his duty to protect u he said putting hand on her shoulder and she shook her head battling with her own self

Risking his life wasn't his duty....he could have ran from there too.....why he had to act like a hero she said in angry tone....angry at him for not taking care of his life for her

Now u r insulting his love nandini cabir said as no one other dared to take part in their conversation knowing cabir would handle it...

U r saying all this for the sake of ur love and he did all that to rescue his love..his life he said and nandini lowered her head but said nothing.....cabir patted her shoulder and with other hand he retrieved the necklace which he had been keeping in his jeans pocket from the day of accident hoping that manik would gain consciousness and he would have to return it to him but it didnt happen

U know in ambulance he gave this to me he placed the necklace on her palm and nandini looked at him shocked....she thought she had lost that precious gift of manik

He told me to take care of u she batted her eyelashes to stop herself from crying at his words

And even if he see u like this then m sure I would be in his place....he tried to joke but nandini looked at him with pain in her eyes dont say that she was abrupt enough to cut him from completing his sentence....she had no courage to see someone close to her in that state again

Take care of urself and ur baby....that's what manik wants he said and nandini nodded as tears gathered at the corner of her eyes despite her trying her best to control them.......it was supposed to be the best time of their lives but there they were in a crisis with so much uncertainty about manik's life....side hugging her cabir patted her hair till she composed herself

Nyonika entered into manik's room and suddenly she felt the need to force more air into her lungs seeing her child in that state..it had been more than 15 days but he was still the same......water pooled in the corner of her eyes as she stormed towards him in restless way

Manik she called in wet tone as she raked her hand thru his thick hairs but he stayed still

Tm kab tak aise hi rho ge she asked as tears escaped thru her eyes and hid under the blanket of his thick hairs

Kaash tm wahan na ate.....marne dete na mjhe kyon aye tm wahan? she inquired trying to act a little angry but it was nothing more than a plea as her one hand fisted into his shirt cloth

Tm nhi baat karo ge mjhse she asked as tears rolled down her cheeks and she kept her hand on his cheeks

Theek hai naraz raho mere se...but kisi se to baat karo...she pleaded kuch to bolo SB itne pareshaan hai tmhare waja se she said in quivering tone as she observed his facial features but he was so heartless to not react to the mother who was a mess rn.....she looked at his bruises which weren't healing even after 2 weeks of that accident.....placing her one finger over his forehead bruise and caressing it a little she sobbed more looking at his unhealed wounds .....tired of getting no response she rested her head on bed and stayed like this for few minutes but then raised her head

Manik mar jaye ge tmhare maa.....mar rhi hn mein tmhe is trah dekh ke she said and her head was lowered and she missed something

Yes she missed him trying to move and his right foot toe moved in a result......his mind was exploding with everything he was hearing but he couldn't react

In defeated way she turned around and left the room taking slow steps.....she had already made her mind on what to do next.....she was going far away from them...yes it was her last visit to manik.....after seeing that cctv footage she felt to ashamed and guilty.....although no one had said anything to her but she was feeling like a burden on all of them and she never wanted that.....she had found herself a place in old age home and grabbing her bag she was about to walk out of icu with heavy steps when she heard Nandini's voice from behind her

R u going to leave him again she asked and nyonika turned around to look at her......she felt pain seeing at Nandini's face which told her that sth bad had happened again.....nandini was at verge of crying but she was still holding it

Like always???? Nandini felt anger rushing in her body as she looked at nyonika.....how could she do that when Nandini's heart had just started melting.....

He...... nyonika tried to speak but she was cut off by nandini in a very harsh way

He is not getting well and u thought to leave him in this state as he cant give u anything her voice quievered......aryaman who had returned from somewhere tried to stop her but she showed him her palm u shouldn't have come in 1st place tears left her eyes in misery and she stormed towards manik's room while everyone just stared at her back shocked at her reaction....the nandini who was acting so calm and composed from start had lost her patience on nyonika for nothing??? WHYYY

She just had a conversation with our senior doctor who is handling manik's case and things r quite disturbing he informed everyone and then went to nyonika who was battling with her tears....placing hand on her shoulder he tried to comfort her as she had earned a soft place in their hearts in past few days.....wiping her tears she nodded trying to smile while her mind was still worrying about what aryaman said but she had no courage to ask about it

On the other side nandini opened the door to manik's room and found him lying in same position....it ached her to see him like this daily and she was enduring it daily without complaining but her patience had ended that day.....she sobbed walking closer to him as her mind replayed everything the doctor had said

Tmne jhoot bola tha mere se she whisper yelled

"My tears hurt u" that's what u told me then why r u lying like this when m restless from so many days.....tmhe ab farq kyon nhi parta she shouted wiping her tears harshly

We had to spend this time together na manik she coaxed him this time trying to get a reply but he didn't say anything

Manikkkk please she held his hand pleading I cant bear it anymore.....I need my support system back she begged and her cries intensified......she sobbed and sobbed despite knowing the fact that he could hear her.....she was so busy in letting her pain out that she didnt see him breathing hard and minutes later she heard the loud beeping of machines......worried she raised her head and saw him struggling to breathe........he was striking his head with pillow again and again in restlessness......the oxygen mask moved away from his mouth.....she could see his heart rate decreasing and the oxygen saturation level had lowered down much

It alerted the nurses and doctors present outside and they all rushed inside the room in hurry only to see a scared nandini who was doing nothing to save him but cry more

Manik her lips moved to say his name but nothing came out of her mouth and few more tears rolled down her eyes......aryaman and abhimanyu were being informed by some helper staff and they also rushed inside

Get out nandini aryaman whisper yelled considering other people in the room but still the most imp thing for him was manik's condition which was getting worse bcz of her....bcz he could listen to her cries which had already served much damage..... the moment he entered he came to know of what happened there and he didnt want things to worsen more

But still nandini didnt even budge a cm from her place.....aryaman frowned more but b4 he could say sth abhimanyu held Nandini's hand pulling her out of room knowing that their were people who would do their best to save his life.......

As soon as they got out of room nandini hid her face in her palms as she cried and cried her heart out......she was so angry at herself yet she was so broken and vulnerable to think sane......abhi just rubbed her back letting her cry.....as he saw her draining herself too much he just pulled her to sit on a bench while asked for water........they all were worried for manik also but Nandini's condition was scaring them......she was so disturbed mentally and not at all taking care of her health which was not gud to her baby too....after some time she composed herself and looked at the icu room from where no one had came out yet....she wanted to go and check how was manik's condition but she chose to give herself a punishment to stay there and sulk waiting for some gud news......unintentionally she was digging her nails on the other hand's palm which must be causing bruises.....abhi who by chance looked at her hands and shocked he then looked at her face to see her eyes glued to the icu door while she was mumbling something silently.....abhi guessed it she was praying for him.....he knew from what she was going thru and just asking her to stop stressing and stop hurting herself like that wasnt gonna help so he gently separated her hands and instead of leaving them by her side which would give her a chance to hurt herself again he entwined his hand with hers one hand while keeping his face straight.....nandini looked at him and then their hands to see him caressing her bruised hand while not even looking at her.......if it would have been some other moment she would have just jumped onto him and give him a tight hug to be such a gud and caring brother but guess what the moment wasnt pleasant at all.....and the thought again brought tears in her eyes....abhi who was just waiting for her to initiate the conversation finally heard her trembling voice

People tend to protect the people who they love but here I m, I have become threat for his life she said and abhi snapped his head towards her....no she shouldn't be thinking like that he just thought of it but said nothing instead he pulled her into hug not knowing sth else better to do for that moment..... meanwhile the doors finally opened and a bunch of doctors and nurses appeared with relief written on their faces

See their faces he is all okay he asked her to raise her head and she immediately did when one of his fellow doctor gave her thumbs up he is stable although their was no betterment in his condition but it wasnt that worse also.......her heart who was hoping that he might be out of coma state saddened and she slumped into seat while abhi patted her shoulder a little hard in encouraging way

U know most of patients come out of it within 2 to 4 weeks....he will also gain consciousness soon he said as his eyes were glued to the door as aryaman hadn't come out yet from the room and it had started concerning abhi.......

Or he might never come out of it she said frustated as she threw her head on her palms.... her words shocked abhi as he never thought she was so depressed that she had lost all hope.....at that very moment he saw aryaman finally coming out but still his facial muscles were taut as he didnt expect nandini doing this as she was herself a doctor and she knew the consequences of every action.... while all this was playing in his head aryaman saw abhimanyu asking him to go away from there and calm down and he acted upon abhi's order

Nandiniiii he called in low tone much like relaxing her why r u thinking so pessimistically he said placing hands on her shoulders

U shouldn't loose hope..... u r a doctor he made her remind of her job giving her hope and nandini said

I wish I was never a doctor , things would have been much easier for me she cried as she knew much about his case which was ruining her peace

M super duper late and I knew I even crossed the deadline i gave to myself and mentioned in some replies also......the msgs I got in last few days a special apology to them as I didnt reply cuz I was too embarrassed to give a deadline again and not meet it....I just wanted to give u an update so didnt msg asking for u guys to wait more....I know many of u have realized that m a lazy ass and but some of u r very cute and get too eager to read the next part and I just crush ur Hopes😔😔 sometimes I think I will and have lost many readers bcz of my unprofessional behaviour and I know it's all my fault

Moreover sorry to all those people who have dm'ed me asking to read their story.....its so nice of u to consider me worthy of it but sorry for not being able to read it much cuz I just open wattpad to write nothing else....I have told multiple times that I have stopped reading here....I try to read and not disappoint u or sound egoistic but I just forget it sometimes or I have no time for it.....
