Aliya any update nandini asked in concerned tone as she clicked her fingers anxiously to which aliya shook her head in no......nervously she got up and started pacing around praying for his safety

Plzzz God plzz keep him safe she said joining her hands as she connected it to her mouth while silent tears fell out of her eyes in helplessness and aliya looked at her in pity unaware about manik being dragged out of ambulance and placed on stretcher in same hospital's emergency......his hand was hanging down from stretcher while the paramedics took him inside the emergency and cabir dhruv were running behind them with pale faces......

We have an emergency....requesting all doctors to plzz come at emergency department as soon as possible their were announcements everywhere in hospital and it caught Nandini's attention too.......she looked at the door deciding whether to go or not.....but then she wiped tears off her face and composed herself deciding to go there

Nandini aliya called not knowing what to say....whether to let her go or not in that situation when no one was telling them anything about manik's condition

M going....may be treating that patient would help me get out of this mess otherwise this wait will surely make me loose my senses her voice was still shivering as she was trying to control her tears.....she ran out towards the emergency and aliya ran behind her

As she entered the emergency she saw chaos everyone......she didnt know why but her heart started beating in a strange way.....her sixth sense warned her of sth bad coming.....every single person whether it was some medical person or the visitor was talking about the patient who was just brought in a pretty bad condition.....as she took further steps so that she could make it towards the emergency room she saw stretcher being dragged with the nurses and doctors running around.......soon the face revealed and after seeing it she knew life was gonna be so tough for her.......she tried to take some air inside her lungs but they denied to inflate making her struggle for it

Nhi she mumbled shaking her head in no as she took a step back.....her eyes roamed and she scanned his whole body from his shoes above to his face.....she could see dirt and blood everywhere staining his clothes....as her gaze travelled up to his face she felt stabbing pain seeing cuts and bruises......he was in pain and every muscle of his face was depicting it truly

Manik she called hoping he would response....after all that's what he used to do always.....how could it even be possible that manik doesnt answer when nandini is calling him but guess what it happened.....he went away quietly.....unlike every day he didnt pass her a smile while passing by her......she staggered as her legs failed to carry her weight but aliya grabbed her by her back in time........

Aliya manikkk she said in crying tone hoping that she would say that it wasnt her manik but aliya turned her head away trying to hide her tears.....soon they saw cabir dhruv standing there on entrance door.....they didnt budge an inch from their place as they saw paramedics taking manik to OT while they felt too drained out to move a step or so....aryaman who was about to enter OT in hurry turned his head to look at nandini and seeing her shattered he wanted to go towards her...confused what to do he was just standing fixed at his spot when a fellow doctor called him

Dr aryaman.....what r u doing....patient needs us and thats when aryaman came to conclusion that yes saving manik's life was his first priority....he entered into the OT room knowing that everyone else would handle nandini

On the other side seeing cabir a new energy filled inside her as she stormed towards them

Cabir manik Khan hai she asked hoping for some other answer but cabir just lowered his head

Manik....manik Khan hai tm use lene gye the she shook cabir holding him by his collars while he showed little resistance letting her do that...on the other hand aliya approached dhruv who was leaning on wall looking at OT door.....placing hand on his shoulder she asked thru her eyes to which dhruv just shook his head in a hopeless way

Wo manik nhi haina she again asked or rather begged him to negate everything but his silence was getting on her nerves

Bolo cabir she shouted in low tone and seeing her this side made the hospital staff gasp in shock.....the calm and cool nandini was nowhere...in front of them was a devastated woman who didnt know how to react seeing her husband in that state

Pray for him that was all cabir could say and tears rolled down her eyes

No she said shaking her head badly crying...cabir pulled her in a hug by placing hand on the back of her head

U promised me that u will bring him back all okay..... not like this she said wetting his shirt

Nandini be brave cabir's confidence was shattering but it seemed like his test didnt end yet.....he had to console nandini too but his tongue wasnt supporting him

Wo theek hojaye ga na cabir she raised her head to look at him and cabir saw her chin wobbling her hands shaking and tears coming out of her eyes uncontrollably......he made a helpless face and turned his head to look at aliya and dhruv....understanding him aliya came and pulled her towards the bench....aliya kept rubbing her hand to console her but it didnt help nandini....in anxiety she got up and walked towards OT.....she wore OT dress with intention to enter the room but as she went closer she saw into the room thru the glass window and there all her courage shattered......she just stared at his face and realized that she wasn't brave enough to do it......she wasnt brave to see her loved one like that lying lifelessly on stretcher....that moment she accepted that yes she was a coward...she was a coward when it was about the people she loved.....soon a doctor came infront hindering Nandini's view and she stepped away a little disappointed

Leaning with the wall she was staring at the ground blankly while aliya was standing beside her....on the other hand cabir and dhruv were sitting on bench in a worried way when yash came followed by navya.....he straight away went to nandini and said placing hand on her shoulder

Nandini in sorrow he called her name and seeing her daddy she just clinged tight to his chest

Dad manikkkk she sobbed in his chest while he patiently rubbed her back to console her

He is there bcz of me..she pointed at OT room he fought for me she wailed mourning over her loss and yash kissed her hair

He will be all okay....we all will pray he said but it didnt help in calming her

Nandini he needs ur prayer beta....pray for him he said taking her to the bench as he made her sit on it

Dad he she raised her head to look at him and yash saw big fat tears in her eyes while she struggled to get words out of her mouth m the reason dad she pointed towards herself.... I cant live without him mein mar jao ge she wailed

Bas chup nandini....he's gonna be fine he wiped tears off her eyes

Pray for him he said again as he raised her hands high in air in praying position and nandini looked at him with blurred vision to which he nodded in assuring way......

Mukti who had just finished house chores and sat in lounge......she picked up her mobile which had 100's of notification....she opened WhatsApp to see some strange news circulating about manik being in hospital......her heart sank for a moment she read those news

No it's fake her heart wished but soon her fears started getting stronger as it was all over the social media.....she palmed her face reading it....

Manik....no.....nhi aisa nhi hoskta few tears rolled down her eyes as with shivering hands she dialled manik's number but it was switched off....then she dialled Nandini's number and then cabir but back in india they were not in their right senses and bother to check their cellphones

At last she dialled Aliya's number pacing around the lounge in panicked way plzzz aliya answer the call she mumbled and at that very moment she heard yes from other side

Manik....aliya manik Khan hai?? Is he fine she asked without taking a pause but heard a loud sigh in response

Aliya speak up....u r scaring me mukti wasnt ready to admit but the situation was breaking her from inside

Mukti they have beaten him mercilessly....mukti heard her choking and that was it...she cut the call as her legs failed to carry her weight and she slid on sofa.......thousands of sweet memories with manik fogged her mind and she covered her mouth with shivering hand while tears came out of her eyes......she was busy crying when main door opened and abhi came who was being informed by navya about manik's condition

Mukti he ran towards her knowing how sensitive she was about manik

Abhi....MANIK she cried throwing her arms around his neck and dived her head in his neck

Manik she hiccupped while abhi just consoled her.....he was as shocked as everyone else but he had to support mukti too

Mjhe India Jana hai...I want to be close to him she said sniffing

Okay calm down...m trying to book our tickets he rubbed her back connecting her close to his body

Who told u she asked as she calmed down and wiped the tears from corner of her eyes

Navya...she told me I thought u dont know yet and that's why I came he rubbed her palm in between his manly hands and looked at her eyes which started tearing again......he shook his head in no he will be all okay....just pray for him

Okay and mukti nodded sniffing trying to control her tears m gonna pack imp stuff....hope so will get tickets by tonight he said

The evening turned into night but their wait didnt end.....their eyes were glued to the door as they were waiting for someone to appear and announce gud news.....

Nandini's hope was ending....tears were wetting her eyes again and again but she wiped it b4 they could escape the border of her eyes.....she was biting her lips in tension and a bruise appeared there....soon the door opened and her eyes lightened up in hope...she got and ran towards a senior doctor

Sir?? Her question was full of hope....breathless she was looking at him waiting for his reply

We have treated him but still he isn't out of danger.. he said with a encouraging smile but Nandini's smile dropped at her words....

How much time he will take to be okay nandini asked and her question clearly showed her state of mind.....at that time she forgot that she herself was a doctor....she was asking the same question from everyone thinking that someone might give her a ray of hope

Dr nandini u have to handle it bravely he said in encouraging tone....and nandini took back steps silently but no one had the courage to come over and console her....they all were facing lack of words and her hollow eyes and pained facial expressions were adding much to misery making everyone's attempts futile

While on the other side aryaman didnt come infront of them......he had no courage to face them....he ordered a nurse to discard manik's clothes as he didnt want anyone specially nandini to look at those torn clothes and mourn more.....the nurse nodded her head and placed everything in trolley and went out when nandini saw her and said

Where r the patient's belongings she asked as she didnt want to loose anything related to manik or which had stayed close to manik

Mam he didnt have any mobile phone or wallet.....and dr aryaman asked me to discard these clothes she said and it caught Nandini's attention

No give me those clothes she said with a frown on her face.....seeing her behaviour yash came forward but by that time nurse had left after handing nandini manik's clothes

Nandini these r of no use he said looking at her who was hugging his blood stained clothes close to his body......she recalled buttoning up his shirt early in the morning and his sweet teasing and it made her fist the clothes tighter to control herself

He loves this shirt she asked drowning in his thoughts

Nandini he sighed loudly as he mourned over the state of his dearest daughter bache get a grip over urself and tears brimmed at the corner of her eyes at his sentence....how could she do that when the man who used to be provide her support was lying in the OT room

He ain't gonna use it....its ruined he said referring to hole created by bullet

I want to keep it...it has his fragrance she begged thru her eyes to not force her to throw the shirt away and yash just embraced her in a fatherly hug understanding her inner turmoil.....the hospital staff was shifting manik to icu and seeing Nandini's eyes glued to his pale face as the paramedics dragged stretcher infront of her

Come eat something he said wiping tears off her face as he looked at her devastated state

Bhook nhi her eyes still glued at the stretcher and yash pulled her to opposite side to divert her from that......making her sit on bench he opened water bottle and brought it near her mouth

Take a sip he said and nandini shook her head not uttering a word knowing that she would cry out if she even try to speak up...but yash ignored it and connected the bottle to her lips making her sip few drops of water

U need to stay healthy to help manik and for that u have to eat....common he encouraged unwrapping the food paper from sandwich and forcefully made her finish the whole sandwich

Manik.....manikkkk nyonika was slamming her head hard on pillow in unconsciousness while she was just saying one word and that was her son's name........soon it got intensified might be she was seeing some bad dream which caught the nurse attention.......

Doctor patient is concious now the nurse informed as she went towards nyonika's bed.....doctor followed her and called nyonika while placing hand on her forehead

Hello...can u hear me he called softly waiting patiently for her to answer while his other hand was busy examining her pulse

Yes common open ur eyes he encouraged as he saw her eyelids shaking showing her efforts to open her eyes....soon she was awake and she stared blankly at the ceiling

R u feeling better he asked passing her a gentle smile after asculatating her heartbeat while nurse was checking her bp and respiratory rate

Manik she asked with concern lingering in her eyes and the doctor who already knew about manik's condition as it was the most hyped up case of day looked at her.......all he could see was fear and concern thru which the doctor depicted that she must be really close to him

Take some rest and then u will be discharged and free to meet whoever u want to he diverted the topic brilliantly knowing stress wasn't gud for his patient at that stage

Plzz inform her family he said to nurse gently and went away passing a warm smile to that nice lady but nyonika in return just gazed at his back as a painful smile spread on her lips at the word family....she couldn't get herself to tell him that she was living without a thing people call family from 15 damn years

They were there from past night and now even the darkness was engulfed by a bright sunlight......it was mid day and the sun was shining to its fullest but even after 15 hrs their was no change in manik's condition and it had started concerning everyone out there.......seeing nandini walking in distress aliya walked to her and said placing hand on her shoulder

Jao manik ko dekh ao she said the same thing which cabir and yash had said multiple times to nandini thinking that it would help her but she didnt.....even when she tried she couldn't make it beyond the first step in his icu room......

Wo theek hojaye phir she couldn't say that seeing him all quiet and in that state wasnt easy for her.....she was midway in her sentence when a nurse came out panicking as the alarms started ringing again indicating that their was an emergency

Room number 14 patient is feeling difficulty in breathing the nurse said and everyone present in the hallway felt bad for the patient.....cabir who was standing leaning to a wall asked dhruv

Manik ka room number Kia hai his mind alarmed that the nurse was talking about manik but he shook his head pushing the thought away thinking that he might be confusing numbers.......little did he realize that he asked question in a little louder tone gathering everyone's attention and nandini who was sitting there with her hands clamped at the bench got up with a horrified face the nurse was talking about manik

She ran inside without even wasting a second....opening the door she saw him in great pain facing difficulty in breathing.......she adjusted his oxygen mask properly on his mouth which got displaced bcz of  movements.....she placed her trembling hand on his bullet wound....the location of wound made it clear that the bullet had done damage to his right sided lung and because of that he was facing acute respiratory distress syndrome.....her mind started working fast to apply her medical college knowledge in order to save manik's life

Get the settings of ventilator done she shouted in trembling voice with a fear to loose him evident in her eyes

Come we need to make him lie in prone position she said to ward boys meanwhile securing neckbrace around his neck to prevent injury to spine during lifting him and fixed his vertebral column also......the fellow doctors also arrived by that time and then they all laid him in prone position and attached mechanical ventilator to his mouth ....all this was done in seconds and as the mouth ventilator connected to his mouth and his breathing came back to normal with his body relaxing nandini took a step back as she saw him with pained expressions.....she was unable to believe that she actually did it

The patient is normal now the senior doctor commented in optimistic tone seeing positive aspect in that critical situation.......manik was lied down again in supine position as one of nurses changed the setting of ventilator to desired ones while others gave him supportive therapies

Gud job dr nandini his words brought nandini out of the ocean of thoughts and she blankly stared at him....he patted her head gently and left.....he knew nandini long b4 she joined hospital as he was a gud frnd of yash....he knew it was a tough time for her  and no words could ease her pain...how could she stay calm when she saw her husband slipping into coma....when she herself put her husband on life support. ..soon everyone left and aryaman looked at her thinking to take her with him out of room

Nandini he called softly but nandini didnt budge from her place.....in a devastated state she was staring at manik.....understanding that she needed some alone time with manik he left the room and nandini stared at the plain walls of room in affrighted way....it was suffocating pain was written all over her face as she stared at his lifeless body.....few minutes ago she had hope that he would be okay talking to her in some time but then it died also.....HE WAS COMATOSED and she didnt know for how long he would stay in that.....may be some days ,some months or may be he would never come back she felt disgusted at herself for thinking so cruelly

I want to live with u forever her ear ringed by their past memory as her ears filled by his sweet voice .......the burden on her chest increased and her eyes at that point also denied to shed tears to ease her pain.......she hyperventilated as the stabbing pain increased and unable to stand the sight anymore she left the room without glancing back

On the other side as he came out he saw yash standing with dr dhingra (senior doctor)

Lol  copied the last name of ENT book author 😂😂😂 couldn't think of some other name...pretty bad at it

While others were standing at a little distance from them but they could hear the talk easily...as they saw aryaman appearing they approached him

Manik theek hai with hope they asked single question but while asking they didnt saw his dropped shoulder and passive body language

He slipped into coma he threw bomb at them and they all gasped in shock.....none of them said a single word as everyone fought their own battles to digest that bad news.....manik was someone very dear to all of them.....in their grief they couldn't notice cabir leaving the place after hearing that dreadful news
