King of Atlantis #1
Y/N Romanoff Creed was taken by the Ten Rings and turned into a Godslayer. After he escaped, he lived a life of crime before turning it around and become.....
Monster!
Y/N has awakened his animal nature which he inherited from his father. At the same time, the Avengers had arrived to take Loki. After a confrontation, Monster managed to keep Loki around by making him a Striker.
Four original Strikers have been reunited for the first time in over a decade, and a fifth is on the horizon.
One that could spell trouble.
Strikers: Monster, Scarlet Witch, Wolverine, Toxin, Bruiser, Ghost Rider, Squirrel Girl
Unaffiliated: Namor, Sabertooth
Avengers: Stingray
Monster:
Strikers
The Bahamas were a place where many went to relax and enjoy the sun. At least, many try to.
Not all succeed.
Tiger Shark: You dirt lovers think you can cruise my waters without paying the toll? Think again!
Tiger Shark climbed up the side of a cruise ship with a wicked smile.
Tiger Shark: Because Tiger Shark is here to collect! And if you don't have cash, you'll have to pay in blood!
Stingray: You're really insufferable, you know that?
Tiger Shark looked up as a figure jumped off the side of the boat.
Stingray: First vacation I take with the wife in three years, and guess who has to show up to ruin it?
Tiger Shark: Stingray! It's about time I sunk you for good, you weekend mermaid!
Stingray: Oh, for the love...
Stingray grabbed Tiger Shark and tackled him back into the water.
Stingray: Get over it already, will ya? You can't change the fact that I married your sister!
Tiger Shark: We'll see what she thinks of you when I take a few bites out of your face!
Stingray: You are the worst, Todd.
Stingray punched Tiger Shark which sent him a few feet away. Stingray then darted towards him and slammed into the villain.
Tiger Shark: You don't belong here! You're just an Air Breather in a scuba suit!
Stingray avoided his teeth and fired off an echo blast.
Stingray: You were human once, too. Until those genetic experiments drove you mad. I can help you. Diane misses you!
Tiger Shark: Grahhh! I am Tiger Shark! The scourge of the seas! I will tear you to pieces like so many....chum.
Stingray noticed the look on his face and turned around to see that they weren't alone. Dozens of sharks in armor swam around one figure as he watched.
Namor: This petty fight of your is finished.
The two men swam in place as Namor crossed his arms.
Namor: Stingray. Tiger Shark. A day if reckoning has come. You both face a simple yet profound choice. Join me, or leave the waters forever.
While Tiger Shark was scared, Stingray just sighed. He swam over the king.
Stingray: Oh, Namor. Don't tell me you're doing it again. You know that "Atlantis Attacks" thing never ends well for your people.
Namor didn't even move as Stingray stopped in front of him.
Stingray: Look, let's talk about this, your highness, okay? I'm one of your oldest friends from the surface world. I promise you that...
Namor moved faster than Stingray could react. A crack across the face was enough to stun Stingray for another. And another. And another.
The glass on Stingray's helmet began to break and blood began to pour into the water.
Stingray: Namor! Gah! Stop! Ah! Gah!
Namor continued to beat down upon the man with no remorse. No mercy.
Soon enough, Stingray was floating motionless in the water.
Namor: I gave you a simple choice with one right answer. The lord of Atlantis has no friends on the surface world. Not anymore.
Stringray: NaMoR....pLeAsE....
Namor: This man is an invader in my realm. And invaders will no longer be tolerated. The Emperor of the deep has spoken. War sharks, finish him.
Stingray: no...
The sharks all charged forward at Stingray, and began to carry out their king's orders. As Stingray cried out, Namor turned to Tiger Shark.
Namor: Tiger Shark, the lord of the seven seas asked you a question, and would hear your reply.
Tiger Shark looked at his brother in law and then turned back to the king.
Tiger Shark: Uh, I have no idea what you're planning, Namor. But whatever it is, you made a damn good argument. Count me as a hard in.
Namor: Good. Then come, Brother Tiger. The war for the world's oceans has begun. But we will need more troops before we are to face our foes.
Tiger Shark followed Namor before he turned back to the large cloud of red behind him.
Tiger Shark: Right. And who are our foes?
---------------
Y/N: Hit em with a smack!
You were in the common room with Robbie, Molly, and Laura watching a wrestling match on the nice big TV monitor T'Challa hooked you all up with.
Molly: Destory him!
Toxin: German Suplex!
Laura: Tear him to shreds!
Robbie: Dale el viejo giro de polla!
La Mano del Destino slammed Calavera down and got on top of him.
Y/N: Uno!
Molly: Dos!
Laura: Tres!
Robbie: Él está abajo!
You all cheered at the win before the TV suddenly changed to a video call.
Y/N: Come on!
You hit the answer button which showed Victor.
Y/N: We were in the middle of something.
Victor: Couldn't have been that important. You're all dressed like lucadors.
You looked at yourself and the makeshift costumes Molly had whipped up.
Y/N: So?
Victor: Get to the War Room. We have a problem. A big one.
The call ended and you all sighed.
------------
You ended up in the War Room with Robbie and Victor as he pulled up a screen.
On it was a map of the ocean. Several red dots appeared on it.
Y/N: What is this?
Robbie: Is this a water mission? We don't have anyone with water powers, do we?
Victor: No, you don't. But the old Strikers did. And that's why this is a problem.
You raised a brow.
Victor: The red dots are all attacks that have happened since the Final Host showed up. All Atlantian waters.
This peaked your interest.
Robbie: Wait, Atlantis? That's real? So, is it like Wakanda where no one really knows about it?
Victor: In a way.
Y/N: Namor is the king now, right? He was a Striker with you and my mom.
Victor nodded.
Victor: He told me the story of it once. Atlantis was on the surface first, until some cataclysmic event happened that sunk it to the sea. Homo Mermanus were created under water. They were stronger, faster, and smarter than Humans.
Robbie: So.....mermaids?
Y/N: In a way. I read some files back in the Program. Namor normally helps the Avengers if it involves the ocean. What changed?
Victor shrugged.
Victor: Roxxon. A few days ago, a ship of theirs killed four Atlantians and hug them off the side of their ship. Namor captured the crew and made an announcement. He's going to execute them.
Robbie: So? Sounds like they had it coming.
Y/N: I agree, but there's an issue.
You sighed as you rubbed your chin.
Y/N: If he kills them, it could start a war between the surface and the ocean.
Victor: Which is why I want you to pick a team and go down to talk to him. He was a Striker once. He might be willing to listen.
Robbie looked at you as you nodded.
Y/N: I'll see what we can do.
-------------
Y/N: Diving suits, courtesy of SHIELD.
You held up the armor like suits for your team to see. Robbie leaned against his car while Laura piloted the Quinjet through the ocean.
You ended up picking Molly, Wanda, Laura, Robbie, and Doreen for this mission. The others didn't really seem like they could be all that useful under the waves.
You tossed the suits to everyone but Robbie. In his Rider form, he didn't need oxygen. And his hell flames were hot enough to stay lit, even under water.
Laura: We're coming up on something.
She set the jet to auto pilot and made her way to the back. You tossed her a suit which she threw on. Everyone put their helmets on as Robbie got into his car.
Y/N: Alright. You know the plan. We're here to talk, but we will fight if we have to.
You opened the water hatch and activated your suit.
Y/N: Strikers, Strike!
You all dove into the water and the suits activated. They propelled you forward while Robbie drove along the ocean floor.
Robbie: Uh, now might be a good time to say I'm not that strong a swimmer.
Laura: Relax, Casper. These guys will tear you up before you have a chance to drown.
Robbie: Thanks, Laura. I appreciate the encouragement.
You all swam forward before you noticed figures swimming out from holes in the rocks. Blue human like creatures who all swam towards you and your team.
Soldier: Death to the air-breathers! All glory to Atlantis!
Your team touched down while you parted from the group. Only you needed to speak to Namor.
Laura popped out her claws and blocked an incoming spear before she broke it and sliced the soldier.
Toxin covered Molly and the two worked together to keep some of the soldiers away.
Molly: That's a lot of fish people. I thought mermaids were pretty.
Wanda: Guardians of Atlantis! Stand down! The Strikers are not your enemies! We're here to request an audience with your king!
She used her magic to throw some of the soldiers away before even more emerged from the caves below.
Doreen: They aren't listening, love!
Molly: Molly, Smash!
Molly slammed a fish man down onto a rock which broke.
Wanda: Molly, we talked about this. Watch your temper.
Molly: Molly, no smash!
Molly swam to fight another group.
Wanda: Uh, better?
Robbie drove through a crowd of the soldiers, but some of the latched on.
Robbie: Gah! They're tearing apart my Hell Charger! How strong are these guys?!
Y/N: Every Atlantian's as tough as a bucket of nails wrapped in barbed wire. They have to be to withstand the pressure down here.
Robbie: Yeah, I'm kinda feeling the pressure down here myself, Monster.
You continued to swim down toward where Atlantis should be. That was, before you noticed an underwater mountain.
It looked like it was breathing.
Suddenly, one of the soldiers blew into a horn, and the ground began to shake.
Laura: What's that?!
The mountain opened it's red eyes and began to rise from the ground.
Robbie: Uh, I think we just found their king. And he does not look happy to see us.
Y/N: That's not their king! They just summoned a sea beast! Robbie, get out there before....!
Before you could finish, the monster sized whale dove towards Robbie, and swallowed him.
Y/N: Robbie!
Doreen: Striker down, or inside!
Molly and her started swimming toward the beast while you watched.
Molly: You're gonna pay for that!
Robbie: Hello?! Can anyone still hear me?!
Laura: Holy shit. Pinocchio wasn't lying.
Y/N: Your first thought for a whale story was Pinocchio?
Laura: What was yours?
Y/N: Hm. I dunno. Maybe the Bible?!
Laura: The things you know and don't know continue go baffle me.
Doreen: You're still alive?!
Robbie: Unless the highway to hell is paved with whale guts.
You began to swim back towards them with your claws out.
Y/N: Don't worry. We'll find a way to get you out of there.
Robbie gripped his wheel and drifted to a U turn.
Robbie: That's okay, guys. I think I got this one.
He raved his engine before he smirked.
Robbie: Let's see if this guy here like spicy food.
Robbie hit the gas and sped forward. You watched as the beast's mouth began to glow orange before Robbie shot straight through it's teeth.
Robbie: Haha! Call me the Human Habanero!
You watched as he soared through the water before Molly and Doreen swam towards the beast. You nodded and went back to looking for Namor.
Doreen: Anyone else suddenly hungry for sushi?
Molly: Ew! We hate sea weed.
Doreen: Fine, I'll make you some meat and potatoes. Just be a good alien symbiote attached to a child and punch the monster!
The two both swung at the beast which sent it flying back into the ground.
You landed down in the ruins of a temple and looked around with the light on your helmet. You walked forward and tried to find any trace if Namor or the prisoners.
Laura: Monster, what's your status? Any visuals on Merman?
Y/N: No. Not yet.
You stopped when you heard a noise. You looked down to see that you had just stepped on a star fish. You lifted your foot and watched as it shook.
Y/N: Uh, I think I just tripped an alarm.
Wanda: Their technology won't be a match for your electricity.
Y/N: See, now, that would be the case if they had electricity. I stepped on a star fish. Incoming.
As if on cue, you were punched from behind and sent head first into a pillar that broke under your weight.
Namor: You dare enter my domain after what your people have done to my home?!
You pushed yourself up, some rock falling off of you, as you groaned.
Y/N: We're not here to fight you, Namor. Don't make this a war.
Namor: We? You brought an army to Atlantis?!
Y/N: I did. The strongest army in the world.
You stood up as the others reached your location. Namor turned around just as you faced him.
Wanda: Namor, step away from Momster or feel the wrath of the Strikers.
Namor raised a brow as he looked at your team.
Namor: The Strikers? Wrath? You speak of wrath as you stand amidst the devastation your world has rained down upon mine?! Come, Strikers, and the lord of the seven seas will show you what wrath really is!
Doreen and Molly darted forward and both took swings, but Namor effortlessly caught their fists. The two girls grabbed onto his wrists.
Doreen: Get him, Wanda!
Wanda rushed forward and casted a spell on her hand which engulfed the area in light.
However, when it was cleared, Namor stood there unfazed.
Namor: Every wench under the sea would kill to lay hands upon the bare flesh of Namor. Enjoy the privilege you've been granted, Scarlet Witch.
Laura: Oh God, you're so gross.
Namor slammed his head into Wanda's causing her to float back. Namor then slammed Doreen and Molly together and freed himself.
From above, Laura darted down with her claws, but Namor avoided them. Laura darted towards him again, but Namor just dodged again.
Namor: You so called Strikers know nothing of Atlantis. And even less of Namor, the lord of the....
He was quickly silenced when Robbie finally arrived, by running him over. He rolled down his window and leaned out.
Robbie: Did I just hit someone? Please tell me that was the bad guy.
Robbie grabbed his wheel when his car was suddenly lifted up. Namor looked at the others as he held the car up.
Namor: The sub-mariner will never fall! Imperius Rex, you air breathing bastards!
Y/N: Namor! Stand down! Or the next Striker you face will be me!
You landed behind him which caused him to turn around. His eyes widened at the sight of you.
Namor: Those eyes....how can it be?
He tossed Robbie's car aside, causing Robbie to scream, before he swam towards you.
Namor: You are Elise's child. Son of Victor.
Y/N: Yeah. My name is Y/N Romanoff Creed. Monster. I'm the leader of the new Strikers.
Namor looked at you for a moment before he crossed his arms.
Namor: Because of the history I have with your parents, and out of respect for your late mother, I will grant you two leaps of a sailfish to say your piece.
You looked at him confused.
Y/N: I don't know how long that is, but I'll take it.
Namor: Not long. Speak.
You looked at your team then back at Namor.
Y/N: Look, I get your rage. You want justice for what those people with Roxxon did to your soldiers. But taking the shooter prisoner and threatening to kill them won't bring justice to your people. It'll bring a war.
Namor: So what would you have me do, Creed? Let me guess. Trust in the laws of man. Because never have those let me down.
You figured he would be this way. But, you couldn't blame him. If you were in his shoes, or lack of, you would be furious. More so than he seemed to be.
Y/N: Give the killers to us. You have my word that you will face justice. Striker honor.
Namor looked at you for a moment.
Namor: And if I refuse this request.
Laura: Don't.
Namor turned around and found everyone ready to fight again. Now that you had all gotten used to the water, you stood a better chance. At least, better than before.
You looked around and noticed even more caves than before. And inside those caves, were people.
Y/N: What happened here, Namor? Why are you living in caves?
Namor turned back to you.
Namor: What has happened? You don't even know? Why am I not surpised?
You looked around before you realized you were in a crater. A large one.
Y/N: The Celestials.
You turned back to Namor.
Y/N: What happened down here, it happened all over the world. The Final Host affected us all. We can offer help, but you have to comply...
Namor: Take the killers and go. I will tend to mine as you tend to yours.
He began to swim away as you watched.
Y/N: Namor, wait! I know you're pride, but we're Strikers. We help everyone. Especially our own.
Namor stopped swimming and looked back to you. He could see your mother in your face. Your father as well.
It reminded him of his youth. When he fought alongside those he was honored to call family.
Namor: Creed.
You looked at him.
Namor: Leave. And never come back.
He swam away without another word. You stood there, feeling defeated.
--------------
Laura: Well, that could've definitely gone worse.
You and Laura stood on a rock while everyone got the prisoners into the Quinjet.
Y/N: I'm still not entirely convinced, Laura. When we turn these men over, I'll have Wanda and Robbie escort their ship back to the shore just in case. And wherever they're held until trial, I'll recommend that it's as far from the ocean as possible.
Laura nodded in agreement. She looked at you.
Laura: We should find someone who can fight underwater. We're not qualified for this.
She was right.
Y/N: I'll start looking around. Maybe trouble will find me again.
Laura: It always does.
Wanda swam over to the two of you and sighed.
Wanda: They're loaded up. We're heading to the surface.
Y/N: Alright. Let's go. I have a feeling that we might be overstating our welcome.
---------
Namor looked down at the sunken ships and helicarriers. The trash and the pollution. He snarled.
Namor: We are here today, because a war has been declared.
He turned around to face his troops.
Namor: Three days ago, soldiers from the world-raping corporation known as Roxxon murdered my men and hung the bodies from the side of their whaling ship like trophies. I sought rightful vengeance against these killers, but the Strikers, the protectors of the surface world, thought different. Those murderers were taken from Atlantis and locked away far from my reach. Or so they thought.
Namor raised his hand.
Namor: Those men are now dead. Choked on the polluted seawater that spewed from their toilets. A fitting end, I say.
Namor turned back to the destruction and looked up at the light above the water.
Namor: Yet this is not the end. This holy war has just begun. And we will not misstep as we have done in the past. No more armies hitting the beach. No more invasions. Let the air-breathers have their mounds of dirt and black skies. We fight for the seas, and those who call it home. The surface world has the Strikers, the Avengers, and their own heroes.
Namor clenched his fists as he smiled.
Namor: Now, we have, The Defenders of the Deep!
