Honor Among Thieves Arc #3

Strikers: Monster, Cloak, Dagger, Wolverine, Toxin, Bruiser, Bloodstone

Avengers: Black Widow

Program: Ms. Marvel

Unaffiliated: Black Cat

Monster:
Strikers

Tandy threw a dagger into the crowd of creatures as everyone jumped into battle. Molly slammed her shoulder into one before she grabbed it by the arm and flung it into the group.

Elsa fired off nonleathal bullets which helped Tyrone get close enough to capture some of them in his cloak before he used them as ammo of his own.

Laura blocked an attack and returned one of her own. She then noticed something. A scent.

Laura: These things smell like they're confused and scared.

Tandy jumped in front of two kids and threw her daggers which kept the beasts at bay.

Tandy: There's nothing to worry about. The Strikers are here. Now tell me what happened.

She turned around only to find the kids running away.

Tandy: Or don't.

She suddenly noticed the wind picking up and lifted her arm to block her eyes. From above, a flying craft of somekind flew down. One she didn't recognize.

Tandy: Uh, we got company!

Elsa: They better be on our fucking side! I'm getting tired of using these fucking fake ass bullets!

The craft hovered in place before a bay door slowly opened. Tandy watched as six figures stood on the platform that had lowered. One of them jumped down.

Tandy: What the hell?

???: Strikers, stand aside.

The team all looked back to see the man now hovering over the ground. An antenna on his head began to glow before it fired down a laser I the street just behind Molly. The creatures began to run away in fear.

The ship finally landed and the people inside began to rush out to join the fight. The one who had spoke walked towards Tandy.

???: By order of the king, Black Bolt, and his queen, Medusa, we order you to not interfere. This only concerns Inhumans.

The team looked at each other then to Laura.

Laura: Inhumans? Yeah, I know em. Super people with attitudes. They don't play well with others. Seems like Ms Marvel is the exception.

She pointed at the group.

Laura: Gorgon.

Laura: Karnak.

Laura: Crystal.

Laura: and then there's the queen and king themselves. Medusa, and Black Bolt.

The inhumans approached the team, followed by another member that Molly immediately noticed.

Molly: <GASP!>

She dissapered suddenly from the team leaving everyone confused. Everyone then looked to find her hugging the last member.

Molly: Oh. My. God! I love it!

Laura: Oh, and, uh, Lockjaw.

Lockjaw: <Woof!>

Molly: Awwwww~ Squishy face!

She grabbed the dog's face and squished it together. The dog's tail began to wag, showing that he loved the attention he was getting.

Tandy: Bruiser, hun, you might want to get back over here before a fight breaks out.

Molly looked at her, then at the dog, then back to her. She sighed and walked back over to her own group. Laura stepped forward.

Laura: What are the Inhumans doing here?

Medusa: Wolverine, the creatures you fight are workers for Attilan, escaped beings of our creation. We will contain them and be on our way.

Gorgon lifted his foot and stomped down. The ground shook and began to crack under the creatures, causing them to run. More creatures tried to charge at the queen, but she simply stood there. Suddenly, her hair flew out and grabbed the creatues. She then threw them to the side.

Tyrone approached the group and offered a friendly smile.

Tryone: So, you must be the leader.

However, Karnak held his hand out to stop him from getting any closer.

Karnak: Not just our leader. He is Black Bolt, King of the Royal Family of Attilan. Show due respect, human.

Crystal: Or get what you deserve.

Tyrone raised a brow before Tandy joined him. Elsa just scoffed.

Elsa: Cunts.

Tandy: He was also a former Striker. Right?

Black Bolt simply stood there, looking at the two. Tandy and Tyrone looked at each other confused.

Medusa: You will forgive Black Bolt for not speaking, Strikers. For everything you are with your powers, Black Bolt is with his voice.

Tandy: Oh, then I respect the power of his silence.

???: A thousand pardons, Black Bolt.

The team looked over to see yet another member of the Inhumans.

???: I accept full responsibility for the crash, my lord.

Laura: Crash?

Medusa: This is the Seeker. A transport ship under his command lost power and crashed near here. It carried experimental materials. Mostly alpha primitives and our terrigan mist.

The team turned around and looked at a hill just outside of town. Laying there was a massive ship.

Elsa: How the fuck did we miss that?

Tyrone: You were just causing upstate New York with a flying saucer full of horror movie stuff?

Medusa: Science is the keystone of Inhuman life. As inhabitants of earth, we also have the right to study it, as you do.

Laura and Tandy looked at each other uncertain. Molly, meanwhile, had snuck behind everyone and started to play with Lockjaw some more.

Seeker: The alpha primitives are clones created to assist in our lab work. They frighten easily. But they are never this aggressive.

Elsa: And what the fuck is Terrigen Mists?

Laura: Is the gunk that gives Inhumans their powers. It doesn't work on humans. But, it can be harmful to mutants.

The team turned to her as she lifted her sleeve up. Her skin was starting to form a rash, but her healing factor kept it from getting worse.

She turned back to the Inhumans.

Laura: Look, We can help each other out if we just join forces.

Crystal just laughed as if Laura told a bad joke.

Crystal: You think you can help us? Please. The Royal Family doesn't need help from commoners such as yourselves.

Elsa felt her eye twitch as she started to raise her gun. Tyrone simply pushed it back down.

Gorgon: You can see to the cowering humans if you must, but the welfare of the alpha primitives is our business.

The Inhumans walked past the Strikers and towards the creatures. Laura crossed her arms as everyone regrouped around her.

Molly: Maybe we should just leave it to them? They seem to know what they're doing.

Laura: Maybe. Until then, we're do what we can to help. Strikers, get to work.
---------------
You and Cat stood back to back as the Guild surrounded you from all sides.

Y/N: So, you gonna introduce me to your friends?

You turned to Odessa and shrugged.

Y/N: I'm sorry. She does this all the time.

Odessa simply crossed her arms.

Odessa: You'll have to forgive her, Monster. We don't usually allow guests here.

She then turned to Cat.

Odessa: You know the rules, Felicia.

Cat: Yeah, never exactly been great at those, Odessa.

Y/N: Can confirm.

You watched as Odessa approached Cat. As she did, you mentally told Toxin what to do. He slowly left your shoulder and instead bonded with Monkey Joe.

Cat: I hope you're not too upset. After all, my dues are paid in full, remember? You can't hurt me. Besides, from what I understand, you could use the patronage.

You looked around the room and began to count all the members of the Guild that were present. However, you stopped after thirty. Jesus, that was a lot of people with weapons.

Odessa: Actually, we're anticipating quite the windfall, thanks to all of this.

She gestured to the room and everything in it. Yeah, this stuff could be worth a shit ton of cash. Hell, most of it was weapons.

Cat: Yeah, I'll admit, very savvy P.R. move. Well orchestrated, too. Take advantage of all the confusion following a massive breakout. Too good to pass up, right?

So that was it? The only reason they were able to pull it off was because of the breakouts? Damn. If only you had Robbie here to back you up right now.

Odessa: And you could've been a part of it. But instead, you desecrated these grounds by bringing Monster.

Okay, ouch.

Cat: No, this is going too far. A lot of this stuff is fair game. You wanna take Cyclops' stupid visor? Go ahead.

Y/N: He needs that, actually.

Cat: But some of this stuff is actually needed to help save lives. This isn't who we are. This....this isn't who I am.

You looked back at her and smiled a bit.

Cat: I only steal what I can get money for.

And there she is. Odessa just sighed and snapped her fingers.

Odessa: Take her. Kill him.

Cat extended her staff and held it up, ready for a fight. You simply stepped forward and balled your fists.

Cat: You ready for this, Frankie?

Y/N: Try to keep up, Kit Kat.

You popped out your claws and charged forward. Cat was right behind you.

When it was just the two of you, you did what you had to in order to survive. But that wasn't just stealing. That also meant fighting.

Rather it be against hired bodyguards and security or other criminals. You had to fight. And if there was one thing you and Cat could say for certain, it was that you both fought well together.

You never needed to speak a single word. Not a motion or a signal. You just moved, and she could read you perfectly.

As you attacked below, she used your back as a springboard. As she jumped up and attacked from above, you would send someone flying up towards her for her to take care of.

She may not have powers like you did, but she had more skill. At least, she did. Watching you fight now, she noticed how much more calculated you had become. How more focused you were.

You weren't just relying on your powers anymore. You were relying on your mind. On your movements. On your form and senses.

You retracted your metal claws and flexed your hands to reveal your animal-like fingernails that you had gained from your second mutation.

It was like you were someone else entirely, now. They had figured you would have changed over the last year, but this was more than either of them could've expected.

You were broader. Bolder. Smarter.

And Cat was impressed.

Odessa watched as the two of you charged through her soldiers with ease. She clenched her fists.

Odessa: It doesn't have to be this way, Felicia! You know the Guild harbors violence!

She was answered by one of her men being thrown into the wall behind her. She looked back to see that he had several broken bones.

Odessa turned back to the two of you as you got closer.

Odessa: We can fix this. You still belong to us. All you have to do is give up your friend here.

Cat: Believe me, Odessa. I tried. I tried so hard. But he just keeps crawling back.

Y/N: Bullshit! I left you!

Cat: Yeah, then you brought me back!

Y/N: Then you left!

Cat: And now look at us!

She threw a man towards you and you caught him. You swung him around like a bat and hit the other members. You then threw him aside. You and Cat ended up back to back again.

Cat: So why don't you walk away? Leave this bounty to us so we can return the items to their rightful owners?

Y/N: See? I know you had it in you...

Cat: Half of it!

Odessa simply sighed as a group of people in hoods appeared behind her. They began to chant in a language that Cat couldn't understand. You, however, knew what they were saying.

Open the vault.

Odessa: You disappointed me again, Felicia. Your father would be so heartbroken.

Cat: Don't you talk about my father!

Odessa simply smirked. She knew she hit the sweet spot now.

Odessa: But if you're so unwilling to part with your treasures, perhaps you'd like to go with it.

Suddenly, the chants grew more wild. The wind started to pick up as fire appeared behind you. Slowly, a portal began to open that started to pull everything nearby into it.

You dug your feet into the ground while Cat stabbed her staff into the ground to keep herself from flying around. You looked over and spotted Toxin crawling around the shelves.

Cat found her staff getting loose and she soon found herself lifted off the ground. She started to get sucked into the portal but you grabbed her hand.

Y/N: What the fuck is this?!

Cat: This is the vault! The real one!

Y/N: I thought that was just a myth!

Cat: Clearly not!

This was bad. Anything that went into the vault, never came out. Tyere was apparently some kind of demon in it, but you never knew if that was true or not. Hell, you didn't even know the portal was real!

You pulled Cat down to the ground and she caught a sai that was flying past. She stabbed into the ground to keep herself in place.

Y/N: Toxin, how is it going up there?!

Toxin: I can't find it, papa!

Cat: Why does it keep calling you papa?

Y/N: Long story! Right now, we need to find something to that can shut this portal down!

You reached up and looked around for something to help. Cat did the same and ended up catching one of Riri's gauntlets. She pulled it on and watched as it activated.

You spotted one of Tony's helmets flying your way. You caught it and placed it on your head.

Friday: Warning. Warning. Unrecognized user. Encryption compromised. System externally locked.

You pulled the helmet off and tossed it aside. You then reached up and grabbed something else. It was an amulet that looked like an eye.

Y/N: Hello? Anyone there? Abracadabra.

The eye opened up, looked at you, and closed again. Well, that has got to be the most sass you had ever gotten from an inanimate object.

Toxin: I found it!

Toxin held up a device that he had found. You smiled widely.
-----------
Widow was sitting on the couch reading over the files from the breakouts. She sighed when she realized she wasn't getting any progress.

Kamala: Widow!

Widow looked up as Kamal ran into the room with her tablet.

Widow: Kamala? What are you...

Kamala: Look, my bag was taken.

Widow sighed.

Widow: I know. A lot of stuff was taken and...

Kamala: My phone was in my bag.

Widow raised a brow.

Kamala: I just turned in my "Find My Phone" app on my tablet. And, uh, it just pinged.

Widow's eyes went wide.
-------------
Y/N: I'm so proud of you right now!

Toxin jumped back towards you and you caught him. He bonded with you again and you took the phone. Monkey Joe hid into your jacket with Tippy Toe as you lifted the phone up.

Y/N: You can end your sorry excuse of a DnD campaign! You got a lot of pissed off super heroes on their way now!

Odessa just laughed.

Odessa: Nice try, Monster. A bluff like that could never work...

One of the hooded figures leaned over and whispered into her ear. Odessa's eyes grew wide when she heard the news of several readings heading their way.

Odessa: Modifying. Thieves Guild, vanish!

You and Cat watched as the hooded theives gathered around Odessa. The flames rose around her before the wind suddenly came to a stand still and the group vanished. You and Cat fell down due to the sudden change in pressure as everything calmed down.

You pushed yourself back up and looked around. Everything was still here. You smiled as you got up to your feet. You turned around and found Cat pushing herself up to her hands and knees.

You walked over and held out a hand to help her. She looked at it before she reached out and took it.

You pulled her up and the two of you started to laugh.

Cat: That was insane!

Y/N: I know!

You both laughed a bit more before you calmed down. You sighed as you looked around. You both knew what came next.

Y/N: I...I can't let you take any of this.

Cat: I know. Trust me, I do.

You turned back to her and she sighed.

Felicia: But, things have changed.

You raised a brow as she lowered her head.

Felicia: Y/N....I...I think my father is back.

Your eyes grew wide. Her parents had been missing since she was 13. Where the hell has he been all this time?

Felicia: I need to find him. And I need some of this stuff to do that.

You shook your head.

Y/N: I get it, but you seriously can't believe that this is the only way.

Felicia: I know. I know that you would help us. That you would do everything you can.

Felicia looked up at you.

Felicia: But we both know that it would only end with one of us leaving again.

You started to feel your senses go off.

Felicia: And we both know that it won't end well.

Without warning, she lifted her hand, revealing the gauntlet she had taken, and fired it.

Everything went black.
-------------
Your eyes shot open and you sat up with a start. You looked around and found that you were in your room back at the tower.

You lifted a hand to your face and felt that your cheek was healing. Your hand slowly turned into a fist as you got out of bed. You flinched when you felt your face twitch.

Y/N: She...SHE FUCKING SHOT ME?! IN THE FACE?!

You pushed yourself back up and rushed out of the room. You found Widow and Kamala talking in the living room with Toxin attached to Monkey Joe.

Widow heard you enter and turned around.

Widow: Oh, you're awake. Good. Uh, what the hell happened?

Kamala: Yeah. We showed up to that castle thing. We found you passed out in the rubble.

You felt your cheek again and closed your eyes. You felt betrayed. All of this just so she could find the father that abandon her. All of this, when she knew that you could have helped her!

How could she do this to you? What the hell was wrong with her? Why.....why wouldn't she let you help her?

Y/N: Widow.

Widow looked up to see the stone cold face that you had.

Y/N: Tell SHIELD that they have a new high profile target. Black Cat is a dangerous target that needs to be dealt with.

You then turned to her.

Y/N: Either SHILED takes her down, or the Strikers will.

She wanted to walk this path? Fine.

Then you'll treat her just like every other criminal.

Past be damned.
