Laura and Kate faced down the creature as it sniffed the air. Kate quickly pulled out her bow and opened it before she pulled out an arrow.

Kate: Okay. Not my kind of welcome, but this is cool too.

Laura cried out and charged forward, but her claws just bounced off of the creature. Her eyes wet wide before the mouse turned and smacked Laura away. She flew through the front windshield of a car making Kate's eyes grow wide.

She turned back to the creature who screamed out. Kate just nodded and fired off an arrow which created a smoke screen which allowed Kate to rush over to Laura. However, Laura just kicked out the door and jumped out.

Laura: Okay. Let's try this again.

She fixed her mask and charged forward once again. The creature swung down, but Laura vaulted over it and tried to stab it's back. However, her claws still couldn't get through.

Laura: It's like it's skin is made of some kind of super metal!

Kate: Think I can make it go boom?

Laura jumped off as Kate fired off an arrow. It erupted and blew a chunk of armor off of the creature. However, before Laura could attack, the creature erupted into flames. The two girls watched as it calmed down and shook it's head in pain.

Kate: Woah. That almost looked like...

Y/N: Found you, little bastard!

The girls watched as you launched yourself right at the creature with your claws out. The two stood there with wide eyes and open mouths as you dug your claws into the creature repeatedly. It finally threw you off, sending you landing by Laura and Kate.

You jumped up and growled at the creature before you noticed them.

Kate: Y/N?

Laura: Y/N?

Y/N: Kate?! Laura?! The hell are you guys doing here?!

The creature cried out, once again gaining your attention.

Kate: What is that thing?

Y/N: It's a power stealing thief. He bites people and copies their powers. He has my claws, my flames, my electricity, and probably everything else.

Laura: What?!

Y/N: Don't let it bite you.

The creature sniffed the air before it looked down at a puddle of blood on the ground. The three of you turned to Laura and spotted the cut on her arm.

Y/N: Okay. If it wasn't official before, it is now. God hates me.

The creature licked the blood and began to change. It's face started to morph into something else before you realized what it did.

It now had Laura's face.

The three of you looked at it in horror.

Laura: Oh my God.

Kate: California sucks.

Y/N: This is...morbid.

Robbie washed his face with water from the sink as he felt himself get a bit colder.

Robbie: What the hell is going on, Eli?

Eli: That Rider did something to us. And it's quite frankly pissing me off! You need to stop running around with Danny Dimwit and find this fucker!

Robbie hit the sink as he looked into the mirror.

Robbie: Don't talk about Gabe like that!

Eli: Or what? You gonna get rid of me? Face it, kid. Without me, you're nobody.

Eli's flaming face appeared in the mirror.

Eli: Here's what's going to happen. You're going to get in that damn car and you're going to find that Rider. When you do, you're going to destroy him. And that little prick he was with.

Robbie: Monster? He's with the Avengers....

Eli: We'll take them down, too. Luckily for you, I got that bastard's scent. And I know just where to find Monster.

Robbie looked at the evil spirit in worry. What the hell did he get himself into?

Y/N: We can't let it escape!

You dodged another attack before the creature was distracted by another arrow. Kate aimed another explosive, but the creature charged at her. She rolled out of the way and Laura instead took lead.

She leaped up and popped out a claw on her foot. She then dug it into the creature before it cried out.

It hadn't healed yet. It shook Laura off but caught her mid air. Before Laura could react, it swung her around causing her claws to slash across your chest. It then gripped Laura and sent her claws right through your gut which left you both on the ground bleeding.

Kate fired off an arrow but the creature swatted it away before it ran off again.

Laura: Ow.

Y/N: Please get your claws out of me.

Laura retracted her claws and you rolled over to your hands and knees as you slowly healed. Kate rushed over to you as you held your gut.

Y/N: Shit.

Kate: Why aren't you healed already? I thought your healing factor was supposed to be, like, the fastest ever.

Y/N: It was.

Laura and Kate watched as you forced yourself to your feet. You looked around and groaned.

Y/N: Shit. This whole mission is going to hell.

Laura: Mission? What mission?

Kate: Does this have to do with the Ghost Rider thing? Is that creature a Striker thing?

You shook your head.

Y/N: No. It's a SHIELD thing. And it should only be a SHIELD thing!

You let go of your stomach as it continued to bleed. You groaned as you looked at your hand. The creature can just go and use your powers? Not fair.

Y/N: Thanks for the help, girls. But I have to go track this thing down.

Laura: We can help.

You shook your head.

Y/N: The creature is my problem....

Kate: SHEILD's problem. And, technically, we are SHEILD.

Laura looked past you.

Laura: Besides, it looks like you have another problem.

You turned around and frowned.

Y/N: Of course.

The flaming car drove straight towards you. You planted your feet as Laura and Kate rushed off to get out of the way in case things went south.

The car got closer and you braced yourself. As soon as Robbie hit you, you grabbed a hold of the front of the car and held it back.

Y/N: Damn. What's under the hood? 2400 Horsepower? 3600? No. This has got to be 6000!

Robbie: The hell is this guy?

Eli: Just another guy we need to get rid of.

You held the car in place at the cost of your body starting to rip apart. You wished you brought Tandy along with her powers right now.

Robbie hit the gas and the car pushed even more. You looked up and locked eyes with him, before a ring of fire appeared below you. You started to go down while the flames went higher.

Y/N: Why don't you hit the brakes and we can talk?!

Robbie: Not a chance in hell.

You suddenly found yourself falling into the hole with the car. Laura and Kate watched as the fires vanished and the ground closed.

The two girls stood there for a moment before they looked at each other.

Laura: Looks like we're tracking the monster.

Kate sighed.

Kate: Whatever.

In the Arizona desert, you found yourself being thrown across the sky before you landed in the dirt. Robbie drove circles around you as he tried to find some way to beat you.

He spotted a boulder nearby and hit the gas. You watched as he drove behind it, before he suddenly drifted. The backside if the car hit the rock which sent it launching right towards you. You quickly jumped oit of the way as Robbie hit the gas again and drove around.

He turned the car and started to drive straight towards you. You braced yourself again, but the car instead drove right through you. You suddenly found Robbie standing there in his Rider form.

Y/N: Look, I have no idea who you are or why you're doing this, but you're in a world of hurt!

You clenched your fist and coated it in magical flames before you took a swing. However, when your fist collided with Robbie, the force of the hit caused a cloud of dust behind him. He didn't even move an inch.

So that's what it felt like to be on this side of that.

You contiued to push forward with whatever strength you could but he didn't move. You gritted your teeth.

Y/N: Fine. Guess I'll have to risk it all!

Robbie watched as your body began to power up. You pulled back and swung again. Only this time, your arm was coated in your flames.

Robbie found himself being flung across the desert as you quickly powered down.

You looked at your arm to see that your sleeve was now gone, but your arm was fine.

So you could use your powers in bursts. Good to know.

You heard the car behind you but you were ran over by it before you could react. You landed in the ground and looked up to see Robbie step out.

How did he.....son of a bitch.

He pulled out a chain and threw it at you. It wrapped around you and you felt the metal burn your skin. Robbie then charged at you and slammed his fist into your face which sent you flying away. He grabbed the chain and pulled you back, only to slam a foot into your chest. He stomped you to the ground and chuckled.

Robbie: You're definitely tougher than anyone I've fought before.

You just smirked.

Y/N: Trust me, I get worse.

You activated your powers again and Robbie found himself now in the air. You broke the chains before you zapped above him. You punched him which sent him right into the ground.

However, his car appeared and caught him. You zapped to the ground and powered down as you felt blood build up in your throat. You threw it up and looked at your body.

Can't use them too long. Damnit.

Robbie turned the wheel and hit the brakes. You and him stared each other down as the desert seemed to stand still.

It was just the two of you out here.

Robbie hit the gas while you popped out your claws. Robbie and you both cried out as he relased the brake and you charged forward. You activated your powers again while Robbie upped his own.

You leaped up and Robbie appeared on the hood of his car. You both lunged at each other as the world seemed to slow down.

No one in the world could have ever guessed how much this moment would affect the entire future. How this moment would ultimately start two paths to the fate of the universe.

One was where it was saved.

And the other was where it was destroyed.

But no one knew.

Not even you or Robbie.

Not in that moment.

Not until you both made it to the end of your tale.

Your paths were intertwined from this moment on.

You and Robbie slammed into each other causing a massive explosion to go off, destroying everything within a three mile radius. Luckily, that wasn't much since you were in the desert.

You hit the ground and powered down as Robbie transformed back to his human form.

You both groaned before you sat up. Your jacket and shirt were completely destroyed but your pants were still holding together enough to cover enough.

Robbie looked unaffected, but he held is head as he sat up. He looked over to you and shook his head.

Robbie: He's pure.

Y/N: He's strong.

You sat there for a moment before you forced yourself onto your feet. You limped over to Robbie and held out a hand.

Y/N: Now that we ain't fighting, wanna talk?

Robbie looked at you for a moment before he took your hand. You pulled him to his feet and you both winced in pain.

You both walked over to the car and leaned against the hood as you held your arm. It was healing slowly, but it was still pretty messed up. You definitely couldn't use your powers again without destroying it completely.

Robbie: So, what's your deal?

You shrugged.

Y/N: Born to an extremely powerful mutant and taken by an evil organization to be experimented on. Escaped, raised by an old man, he died, I turned to crime, had a friend, joined a super hero team, lost previously mentioned friend, lost someone I saw as a brother, moved to Alaska, met my dad, now I run a team called the Strikers. You?

Robbie: Orphaned after my parents' death. I've raised my brother on my own for years while also trying to keep a job. Got into a race, shot to death, came back thanks to this car, fought a bad guy, and you know the rest from there.

You both sat there for a moment in silence.

Y/N: Johnny told me that you're possessed by an evil spirit.

Robbie nodded.

Robbie: My uncle Eli. He's.....he's fucked up, man. But I need him.

Y/N: You don't. I'm sure I can get Johnny to help with that. If not him, I know some pretty powerful magic users.

Robbie rubbed his arm.

Robbie: Sorry, but I'm not a hero.

Y/N: Trust me, Robbie. I don't think I am either. Same with the others on my team. But we're trying.

Robbie sighed.

Robbie: So, why are you looking for me?

Y/N: I needed to see if you were a threat.

Robbie: And if I am?

You sighed.

Y/N: I call the others and we deal with you. But I rather it not come to that. You're a good person, Robbie. I can see it.

Robbie just sighed.

Robbie: Look, dude....

Y/N: Y/N. Or Monster, if that's more comfortable.

Robbie: Fine. Y/N, I'll help you with that monster thing but that's it.

You looked at him for a moment before you sighed.

Y/N: Fine.

You both stood up and you looked at the car.

Y/N: Can I ride it inside, this time?
