There was a world before this one.

One where happiness was guaranteed.

One protected by the Godslayer.

He was happy.

He was powerful.

But he lost everything he had ever loved.

You gasped as your eyes shot open. You sat up and groaned a bit when you remembered where you were.

You were sitting in the healing springs behind the Manor. You wanted to relax a bit but the Manor was....full. You never really realized how big your team had gotten until recently.

It was....weird.

These dreams.

You haven't been having them for too long. Only a few days. But it was odd. Like a distant echo of a memory you never experienced.

Y/N: Weird.

Robbie: I'd say.

You looked over to the natural entrance to find Robbie and Laura walking in. They were both wearing clothes to fight the cold, but they were quick to take them off to join you in the water.

Laura: You really need to stop talking to yourself. I know you have those girls falling all over you, for some reason, but it's still weird.

They both sat in the water and let out a sigh of relaxation. You looked at the two of them for a moment before you shrugged.

Y/N: So, how's the car?

Robbie shrugged.

Robbie: Better? I dunno. The laughing stopped, so Eli isn't coming back. Not now, at least.

That was good.

Robbie: Also, Victor keeps trying to adopt me? What's up with that?

Right. Victor must want more kids or something. You swear that he was trying to adopt the entire team.

Laura: Being Y/N's sister? Pass.

Y/N: Like I want you tainting my family name.

You and Laura slammed your heads together.

Laura: I would boost your reputation, you rat.

Y/N: You'll definitely have the biggest beard, that's for sure.

Laura: Aww. Is someone jealous?

Y/N: Of what? Your size 20 feet?

Robbie just watched the two of you bickered. He leaned back against the edge of the spring and allowed his mind to wonder.

He was still thinking about Felicia and Cat. They were really the same ones you knew. The thieves. The one who shot you in the face.

He had no idea what he was going to do.

Y/N: Rob?

Robbie snapped out of his thoughts and looked at you.

Y/N: You okay?

Robbie nodded.

Robbie: Just thinking. You know, a lot has happened over this last year. I mean, look at what we did.

You thought back on your year in Burns and smiled.

Y/N: Yeah. It's been crazy. And I couldn't have done it with you guys.

Laura: You sap.

You just smiled.

Y/N: I mean it. You guys...you two especially, have helped me a lot. I know we bicker, Laura, but you really are like a sister to me.

Laura smiled a bit, but turned away so you wouldn't see it.

Y/N: And Rob, bud, you're really my first best friend. My second in command.

Robbie: Right back at you. I could never imagine that this would be my life.

You neither. It was only two years ago when you were stealing to survive.

Damn. It's been two years?

You were 17?

Where did the time go?

Robbie: So, what do we do about the Cabal? They still haven't made any moves.

You were always thinking about it as well. The mass breakout happened a few months ago already. Yet, they haven't attacked since the World Tree. And even then, they stood no chance.

Well, they were a bit stronger than you thought they would be, but you still weren't worried. At least, for now.

Y/N: I guess we wait until we figure out what they're doing. If they're like the Ten Rings, then they'll attack. And when they do, we'll be ready for them.

Laura: Of course we will. We're the fucking Strikers.

You smiled.

Y/N: Damn right we are.

The three of you enjoyed the waters for a moment, then something started to happen. You all sat up when you noticed the air start to shift. The clouds began to swirl and the three of you looked at each other.

Robbie: Shit.

The three of you raced back to the Manor to find the others already there, ready for a fight. Wanda noticed you as you popped out your claws.

Y/N: What's the situation?

Wanda: It's not magical. It also doesn't seem to be the same situation as that evil version of Gwen.

Doreen: Do you guys smell anything?

You and Laura sniffed the air, but there was no smell out of the blue.

Then, it hit you. You stumbled back which made everyone looked back to you.

You covered your nose and mouth with your hands. That smell. It smelt so familiar.

So nostalgic.

But how?

You've never smelt this before.

Laura: This is my place. Don't touch anything.

You just stood there. She then rolled her eyes.

Laura: You can sit down.

You did as you were ordered and she sat on her bed. The two of you sat in silence before Laura sighed.

Laura: Look, honestly I don't do anything in my downtime. I usually sleep or look through my phone.

You shrugged.

Y/N: Cool?

Laura just nodded and sat there for a moment before laying down and taking out her phone. She began to look at something you couldn't see so you just sat back in the chair. This went on for a bit which gave you time to think. Things were pretty neat in the tower. Showers, TV, kitchen, training simulator, you think you heard Widow talk about a pool. Neat stuff.

Laura suddenly dropped her arm and turned her head to you.

Laura: So what's up with you?

She sounds annoyed.

Y/N: What do you mean?

Laura: You have a bunch of powers and you just didn't know about them? How do you even know how to fight?

You shifted a bit in your seat while playing with your thumbs.

Y/N: The power thing is still a mystery to me. As for how I can fight, I had a mentor. Called himself the Creatior.

Laura: Why aren't you with him?

You looked down at your shoes.

Y/N: He, he passed away a year ago.

The silence was heavy. You peeked up to see Laura looking embarrassed.

Laura: S-sorry.

She went back to looking at her phone and for once, you were ok with the silence.

Y/N: What the fuck?

Elsa: What?

Y/N: I....what was that?

Tandy: Y/N?

She walked over to you and placed a hand on your back. Suddenly, the clouds began to swirl.

Tyrone: Guys? I think something is going to happen.

Pearl: How bad are we talking?

Crystal: From a scale on 1-10, I say easily an 8.

Molly: Good. Bring them on!

You grabbed your head and shook it. What was this?

Loki: So, I never asked and I figured this would be a good time to, but are we allowed to kill?

Wanda: Don't kill unless there's no choice.

Loki: Aw.

Lockjaw: <Woof!>

You looked at her and smirked.

Y/N: Did you miss me?

Laura just galred at you.

Laura: I did until I actually saw you. You can go off somewhere and die now.

You smiled and tried to hug her.

Y/N: You missed me!

Laura: Get off you creep!

You dropped to your knees as a wave of memories flooded into your head. Things you never experienced. Things you never seen.

Y/N: You know, for the longest time I thought you hated me.

Laura: You? No. Never. I just never understood you. In the end, you never changed.

She moved over to up and reached up to plant a sweet and short kiss on your lips.

Laura: You're still the man I love.

She backed away.

Laura: Now, go stop those Celestials.

The sky began to open as a figure appeared. You pushed yourself up and began to stumble forward.

Wanda: Y/N?

Tandy: Be careful.

You just walked forward. You stopped when the figure began to descend from the sky. You watched as the holy glow around them begannto fade away before you could see who it was.

Crystal: What the...

Molly: Isn't that...

Wanda: Impossible.

Everyone looked at Laura who was just as shocked.

You, however, watched as the figure touched the ground. Your eyes grew wide.

Y/N: Laura?

???: Yes.

You blinked as the glow around her slowly faded away. Once it did, it left behind her true form.

Laura: What the fuck is this?

You looked at the Laura in front of you as everyone else stood there confused. They didn't know. They had no way of knowing.

But you did.

And you hugged her.

You didn't know this Laura, but you remembered her.

She hugged you back in a tight embrace as you felt tears form in your eyes.

Laura: It's okay. It's okay, Y/N.

Y/N: I....I failed. I.....what is this? Who are you?

The older Laura gently grabbed your shoulders and pulled you away enough to look at her. She looked into your eyes and smiled.

Laura: I suppose we have plenty of catching up to do, Monster.

Everyone sat in the lounge as the older Laura drank a cup of tea. You were beyond confused. These memories, these dreams, and now this?

Wanda: So, you are from another world?

Elsa: The same one I was trapped in.

Laura nodded. The other Laura, your Laura, just hung back and watched.

Y/N: And in your world, I was still Monster?

Laura: And the Strikers were still the Strikers. Though, I see plenty of new faces. Including my own.

Tandy: This threat that Y/N fought, it killed us?

Laura nodded.

Laura: In the end, there were only three survivors. Y/N, me, and Robbie. Though, it didn't take long before Robbie left us.

Robbie: I died?

Laura: You sacrificed yourself, so I could come here. To help you all.

Y/N: Help us? With what?

Crystal: With this threat? Thanos?

Laura stayed silent for a moment. She set the tea down and looked at you.

Laura: I....

She hesitated long enough to think.

Laura: It's complicated, but I'll try to explain it the best I can.

Tyrone: We're quick learners.

Laura nodded. She then took a deep breath and slowly let it out.

Laura: I guess I should say, that this isn't the first world. Nor is it the last.

Peral: The first world?

Laura nodded.

Laura: When Monster used the Infinity Stones, it channeled his energy as well. It created a new world. One where we would all be happy. At peace.

Molly: What happened?

Laura clenched her fists in her lap.

Laura: The Nirvana King. He fused together the new and old world. Made them into one. Created monstrosities with our friends. That's when we learned about the Frontier.

You lifted your head at the name. Why did that sound so familiar?

Laura: It turns out, the snap created more worlds. Countless. Each one had a piece of Monster in it. And so, we found the one that was closest to our own, and I was sent to help you prepare for what was to come.

You slowly leaned forward.

Y/N: What's coming?

Laura looked at you.

Laura: War. One that no one can stop.

War? Against the Nirvana King? Sounds like a rough time.

But you had time to prepare. To get stronger. To become more than you already were.

Y/N: Okay. When do we start?

Laura stood up and looked around the room.

You were all still so young. Still full of life.

Laura: We start now.
