"Why did you come here?" Jeno asked not beating around the bush as the younger male rolled his eyes. Turning around he faced the sky stretching his arms.

"Why should I tell you both?" he asked earning a groan from Haechan. Grabbing his arm the older turned him around making him face him.

"You better tell us or else we will tell this to taeyong hyung" he warned as Sungchan's eyes widened. Haechan didn't know where he got the idea from but judging by the reaction he was right. Sungchan didn't tell anyone but aunt Soyoen. The same woman who's the cause of all this. Had she not took him with her that night haechan wouldn't be standing here in the human world today.

"Wait! He's here?" He asked perplexed as Jeno nodded acting along with his brother. It was best to not let the younger that they are hiding from the older as well.

"Yea he came in search of us..." 

"So he let go of you guys just like that?" Sungchan asked as they hummed earning a suspicious look.

"He wouldn't let you guys go that easily tho..."

"Don't read into it too much, will ya?" Smacking Sungchan's head slightly Jeno intervened as the other hummed rubbing his head.

"You guys won't betray me right?" he asked hopefully as they hummed, a mischievous smirk tugging on Haechan's lips.

"We won't betray you...unless you break our trust. Plus you have to tell us why you are here"

"I can't tell you that... Aunt soyeon will kill me if she comes to know that I told you both"

"Oh, c'mon! That oldie won't know" patting the other's shoulder haechan encouraged the other to speak up about it. Sighing he agreed.

"Well... mom's not in great condition. Hyung didn't know what to do so I sneaked into aunt soyeon's place and asked her for a remedy. She said that I'll be able to heal her if I present her a pure heart"

"Pure heart? What's that?" Jeno asked

"Basically someone with a pure and innocent mind. I have to carve their heart out"

"So you came to this school looking for that?" Haechan asked as the other nodded. Indeed the old woman advised him to go to this particular school in search of this one person who fits the criteria for a pure heart.

"Apparently yea..."

"Who is that tho?"

"I still haven't found him but maybe soon enough? I hope he will appear soon so that I can get my job done fast"

The elders hummed facing the sky as well.

"What about you both?" Sungchan started as Haechan sighed.

"We can't seem to find him...besides, I don't think we should give you much information regarding it now, should we? You already know it right? That oldie must have blabbered about the whole thing" chuckling the younger nodded.

"Oh yes she did"

"I knew it! Shouldn't have trusted her with our secret"

"Well, you too! It's for Mrs. Jung after all" smiling he started walking towards the door.

"C'mon then let's head back! We don't want to end up in detention right?"

"Right right! ah by the way Chan where are you staying currently?"

"I have managed to find a place for the time being. What about you both?"

"We live with the huangs, Lucas and Renjun"

"Oh..." humming Sungchan smiled

"Also do you have anything going on between Jaemin?" the mention of the older made Sungchan's eyes widened as he frivolously nodded his head sideways earning looks from the two.

"So you certainly know him!" Haechan commented. Of course, the way they were shocked to see each other didn't go unnoticed by him.

"Well...eh...kind of? He accidentally saw my monster self...and yea...I ended up in his apartment..." Rubbing his nape the younger looked away remembering the way the pink-haired male reacted when he saw the other in his true self. It wasn't intentional and sungchan being amazed by the human world with poorly built magic skills exposed himself. Thankfully it happened to be Jaemin and though it took him some time jaemin got used to it.

Though he should have let him know that he was going to this specific school.

"No wonder why he was so sure that we exist" Haechan commented as Sungchan went speechless. 

"Don't you dare try to make a move on him chan" Jeno warned as the other tilted his head at the mention of him only to have a small smile tug on his lips afterward.

"You like him huh?" Wriggling his eyebrows he asked as Jeno bit his lip. Chucking Haechan joined the younger and soon they were poking fun at the older for his poor acting skills. 

"Whatever! I'm going" huffing Jeno moved towards the door as the two monsters high fived themselves before following suit. 

Renjun, much to his brother's surprise, was walking quietly alongside them. normally the younger would say something just to irritate the siblings. But today he was rather quiet, his small hands tightly hugging the strap of his bag as he headed forward not paying attention to them.

Once they reached the house Renjun went straight to his room as the siblings looked at each other before looking at Lucas who shrugged.

"What's wrong with him?"

"I don't know...though he's my brother it's quite hard to predict what goes on through his mind..."

They hummed. Haechan decided to go after the other to check on him. 

Knocking on the door he waited patiently but to no avail. Sighing he slightly opened the door and took a peek inside only to be met with the sight of him seated, his books spread on the study table.

"What are you doing there?" Renjun asked not sparing a glance as haechan coughed.

"N-nothing!" he squealed as a hum of satisfaction was heard. He could see the older male dragging his seat out as he got up walking towards him.

"You might be thinking how I know it was you" He started as haechan nodded earning a smile from him, "Well dear haechan keep your guards up around me cause you never know how I'll be able to lure secrets out of you. You, obviously, aren't innocent, and the way you acted around that newcomer...you know him. He knows you as well."

Haechan tilted his head sideways quite amused by the observation of the other. Sure enough, he wasn't lying and yes, Haechan did hide a lot of secrets from the other. From him being a monster to him searching for a male.

He has never seen a human this smart. The last time he checked they were able to fool anyone but Renjun and Renjun alone. The older seemed too intelligent but at the same time, he was stupid. Stupid enough to outright challenge him when in fact he could finish off the other easily. So what was holding him back from doing so?

"What makes you say that?" deciding to play dumb he muttered in confusion as Renjun scoffed.

"Don't act dumb! I saw the way you three were staying put in the cafeteria while we all returned to our classes. You were talking to him weren't you?"

"If we were?" he leaned in closer, "If we were talking to him what does that have to do with you? Also suppose we know him how does that affect you?"

Renjun was speechless. When he saw haechan leaning in even more he panicked a bit stumbling backwards. Closing the door behind him haechan moved closer as the other backed away.

"Ah, dear Renjun! You clearly don't know who you're playing with! Sure enough, you're smart but you're stupid at the same time. It's not a wise choice to challenge me you know...and yes we know sungchan! What are you going to do with that?"

Haechan knew there was no use in playing innocent whenever he's left alone with the other cause obviously his opinions on them aren't gonna change. Plus the fact that he hates them makes it much easier for the younger to let go of his disguise and be himself.

"If you're smart enough darling," Haechan started a playful smile adorning his face, "Stay out of our business. We promise you that we wouldn't do you harm but" he paused, "If you are to go against us, that wouldn't end well. Trust me you don't want to be on our bad side"

"What if I want to?" Not knowing where the confidence was coming from Renjun sassed back as a low chuckle was heard.

"What if you want to? That would be you practically digging your own grave! I'm sure little renjun is way smarter than that"

"Stop calling me little!"

"If you manage to grow an inch, I will stop" winking Haechan made towards the door laughing at the roar that was erupted from the other's throat.

"I hate you!"

"Love you too babe!"
