TW: mentions of drug, violence
"What? A killing spree is going on?"
Renjun wasn't able to believe what he was hearing. A killing spree? And that too within a day?
"Renjun-ah, calm down first and take a seat" Mrs. Huang butted in grabbing her son's shoulder, forcing him to sit. The latter huffed before sitting followed by his brother and the Lees.
"Apparently the citizens are getting killed...even worse is that the cause of their death is unknown...the only evidence the cops have received so far is the bite mark that's identical between the victims. There's no fingerprint, no secretion, and literally nothing that could point out to a possible murderer. Even strange is the fact that a mass killing took place and none of the citizens heard any screams"
Mr. Huang described the facts he had heard from the news channel as Lucas tilted his head, his brow furrowed. There would be some kind of lead right?
"Dad it is possible for someone to not hear a victim's scream since they're given some kind of drug beforehand to make them unconscious"
"I know Lu but after the autopsy, the cops are saying that no drug of those sorts was inhaled or injected which means the victim was conscious. Even one of them had their eyes opened wide due to shock. So it's quite possible that the killer didn't use any form of drugs to make the person unconscious."
Haechan and Jeno sat on one of the couches, listening to what the elderly couple had to say. If what they think is true then not only the citizens of Seoul but the Huangs themselves were in danger.
"You said they lost a lot of blood right?" Renjun asked as Mr. Huang nodded.
"That might be a reason for their death"
"But it takes quite a lot of time for a person to completely drain blood from one's body Jun. You know it as well right? How could have this murderer possibly did it when in fact it's a time-consuming process and that too on not just one but twenty different people"
Haechan and Jeno knew the answer. Someone of their kind could kill a human by the snap of their fingers. It wasn't unknown to them and the fact that they knew a monster other than themselves and Sungchan made the two worried. Of course, it wasn't like the two could tell with their chest high that they indeed exist and that they could kill humans quite fast.
They might even have an idea about who this specific monster is.
In their world, they were divided into different units to perform different functions based on their skills. So far they only knew Taeyong who was a part of the unit which requires him to use his fangs for use.
Taeyong...
"Uncle, did the cops say something regarding the position of the dead bodies?" Haechan interrupted the silence as Mr. Huang furrowed his eyebrows.
"Well...they did say that the dead bodies were ten meters or so away from the place they were last seen...It's almost spine chilling, the way their heads are separated from their bodies. The body is devoid of blood and the marks, they're identical" he described as they hummed nibbling on their lips.
"Is it near the forest? Or did something happen near?"
"Yes, why did you ask tho?"
"On our way back we were able to see the buildings shut down even before we entered the main city," he said as they hummed in realization with Mrs. Huang smuggling closer to her husband.
"For the time being, we shouldn't get out. The government has ordered to close the city by six in the evening. It was was quick announcement tho. Thankfully we have stocked our fridge yesterday so we're good to go for a week and Jun," Mr. Huang started looking at his son with a slight glare, "don't think about stepping out to go to the convenience stores like you used to. If you want anything let me know. If it's a necessity I'll go buy it"
Renjun nodded playing with his fingers as he glanced at the siblings who seemed to be in deep thoughts.
He sighed slumping back to the couch, his eyes shut tight. How he wished this time would pass away!
Strangely enough, he was able to picture a scenario based on the descriptions. But instead of a man like his father had told, he could see a woman. She was wearing some strange kind of clothes. She started walking towards a little boy and stopped in front of him.
"Renjun-ah" Renjun's eyes creased as the woman called out his name. The small boy responded as Renjun wanted to warn him to not interact with her. But he couldn't. He couldn't stop his younger self from talking to that specific stranger who made him lost his sleep.
"Do you believe in monsters?" That specific question which he still is not customed to, popped up as the kid tilted his head sideways.
"Monsters?"
The woman nodded her head eagerly, smiling.
"Yes, monsters. There's a monster inside everyone. Inside me, inside him", the woman pointed to his old self smirking as his heart skipped a beat, "and inside you" she said poking his chest making the kid wince in pain.
"Aunty, that hurts" the kid whimpered as the woman unapologetically drew her fingers away before flashing her bright smile, showing off her fangs.
"Did I hurt you jun?" She asked mockingly as the kid nodded. He wasn't able to differentiate between sincerity and sarcasm.
"Aww I didn't mean to..." lies, Renjun thought. She clearly meant to do it to his younger self but somehow he could feel the boy's pain. It was as if whatever she did to the young boy affected him. The way she poked him was so real that he could feel it in his chest.
"Haven't you read fairytales, honey?" She asked once again, her voice was so sickeningly sweet as little Renjun nodded his head.
"Haven't you read about those bad guys who everyone hates?" She asked once again as the boy blinked.
"What if that happens to be me?"
Renjun had to agree with her question. He was pretty sure that the woman was nothing but a pain in the ass. Seeing the way she was luring his younger self in made him realize that she indeed was bad.
But little Renjun had a different opinion. He shook his head frivolously.
"No, aunty is too good for this world. I love aunty" he said hugging her as she turned to look at Renjun who was gulping. He knew he was visible to the woman but something about the way she looks at him made him uneasy. He knew she felt his presence yet the way she looked at him made him want to hide.
He felt a gush of wind and soon enough he was facing the woman and the woman alone. The little version of him was nowhere to be seen. He blinked his eyes rapidly trying to adjust to the brightness.
"Renjun-ah, you're still so gullible. The answers for your questions lies right inside this dream yet you go out of your ways to prove what? A failure? C'mon! I know you're better than this. You are smart and I like that trait of yours" she said smiling cheekily as Renjun pursed his lips.
"Stop messing with my brain"
"That's funny! How am I messing with your brain? You're the one who constantly thinks of me!"
"No, I don't!"
"Yes you do"
"Get out of my head"
"I can't and I won't. You were the one who wanted this and you are the one who keeps on thinking about me. I won't leave you anytime soon Renjun-ah! Not until you discover the key to your fate" she said disappearing into thin air as the male blinked his eyes trying to process her words.
What did she mean by that?
Renjun opened his eyes and checked the living room. His parents' eyes seemed to be glued to the television while Lucas and the siblings could be seen nowhere. Rubbing his eyes he decided to grab some water.
"You woke up?" Mr. Huang asked as he hummed.
"Going to drink some water" he replied nonchalantly before making his way towards the kitchen. He was determined to solve this mystery.

So two of my classes got canceled for the day so I decided to write during my free time. Turns out I deleted two of the drafts since I wasn't satisfied with it.
Anyways have a great day/night ahead. I'm trying to update constantly and hopefully, this is interesting?
Though I'm a science student and ik it's not possible to drain 100% of blood from a human's body, let's just pretend for the sake of the story.
Exsanguination is losing enough blood to cause death. A person does not have to lose all of their blood to exsanguinate. People can die from losing half to two-thirds of their blood. The average adult has about 4 to 6 liters of blood (9 to 12 US pints) in their body.
And yea I copy-pasted that. lol. I didn't know it was a thing but yea you have to do some sort of research right? XD
