congratulations, you have survived the war, now live with the trauma

THE ROOM WAS considerably darker since Maddie had fallen asleep, an oddity given how bright the moon illuminated the outdoors.

When her eyes caught movement across the window-pane, a bony hand dragged across the glass, she resentfully stood to look.

Despite the chills the atmosphere was giving her, she made her way to the window without a second thought. As she looked, a dark figure just barely disappeared from sight. It looked like it had climbed up the tree by her window in blurry movements.

Her jaw clenched as only one thought appeared in her head, "Jasper, I swear to Crowley, if that's you, I'm ripping your dick off." She glanced around with narrowed eyes, and when she saw no movement or sparkly skin, she groaned in annoyance and slammed her window shut. "I swear... I cant get one night of relaxation without something happening."

From the tree, someone watched her; though the moon lit up the yellow of their eyes. And then they seemed to disappear in a black mist.

She turned to fully look at her room, and noticed that it had grown considerably colder and darker. And some of her furniture seemed to be missing. Chains hung above her bed, covered in blood.

"What the fuck?!" She exclaimed and searched her room for any danger, but came up with nothing. "Is this suppose to be some sort of joke, because it isn't very funny!" She shouted even louder, but her voice seemed to be muffled. "Screw this!" she went to run toward her door, but in a blink of an eye, the door disappeared, and only a wall covered with smeared blood was seen. "Wha—" she spun around and reached for the gun that was hidden behind a picture frame, but the picture and the gun disappeared as well.

Her breathing stuttered and her heart pounded loud in her ears.

"Oh, come on, little red, don't tell me you forgot about lil' ol' me and our adventures."

Maddie jumped; the voice echoed in her head much louder than it should have and simultaneously as a whisper from behind her neck. She spun, looking around; only darkness met her. "Who was that?" she asked, mixed bewildered and fear, trying to stay grounded. "Who's there?!"

"Don't you recognize me?"

And just like that, the floor disappeared from below her, and she was free-falling. Her hair whipped around her, and her breath seemed to be stolen from her.

And then there was screaming. Blood was dripping. Skin was ripping.

There, stood in front of her, was Alastair, his yellow demon eyes staring into her soul.

"No, no, no, no, no," she began to whisper to herself, trying to shake free of the chains that were seeping deeper and deeper into her skin. "This isn't real. This isn't real. This can't be real."

"Oh, but this is real. Very real, indeed." He grinned maliciously, his teeth glinting in the moonlight. He stepped forward and caressed her face, only pulling back while chuckling in amusement when she bit at his hand. "I see you haven't changed at all, little red."

"I am going to get free and kill you!" She screamed loudly, her voice echoing throughout the dark void.

"Oh, my little red, you are so funny." He clasped his hands together behind his back as he observed her. She was struggling, kicking, pulling, screaming. It reminded him of the good old days when he would stand in this exact spot and torture for days on end. "You couldn't get free before and you can't now. So, maybe you should just give up."

She closed her eyes tightly. "How—" She stopped, in words and movement. "It doesn't matter. This is just a dream. It isn't real," she said, half to herself. "This isn't real."

"Why not?" Alastair grinned. "Do you really have that much faith in your pup, that he will always be there to protect you?"

Her breaths came in shaking; she smoothed them out as best she could. "Yes, actually." She straightened herself as best as she could even hanging in mid-air with chains digging into every part of her body. "This is just a bad nightmare. Once I wake up, I'll be fine. I'll be safe."

His expression turned one to mock offense, though only briefly. "It's a shame how easily you've been swayed. As if leaving the hunting life for an apple-pie life — as Dean would say — makes you any more safe." He laughed and clapped his hands. "You really thought you could get away from this life? Away from all the trauma?" He tilted his head and smirked when she opened her eyes to glare at him. "How about I remind you who you really are... a weak, pathetic little girl who cant save those she loves."

Pain shot through her eyelids and she screamed. Her eyelids were now being pulled open by a smaller set of chains.

"Let's get on with the show!"

There, in front of her, like she was living it again, was her sitting on a school bus, going on a field trip. She was smiling, laughing with a little blonde headed girl that sat beside her.

"I don't want to see this!" Maddie shouted, and began to struggle in the chains again, only resulting in her screaming in pain. "Fuck!"

Boom!

The bus that was traveling on a small road through the woods, was crashed into. The bus screeched and went tumbling sideways, over and over again before it hit a tree and stopped.

All the kids were thrown about, some being knocked out immediately, others getting really injured.

Maddie was one of the injured kids. Her foot was stuck under a crushed piece of metal that was attached to one of the seats that was now bent at an odd angle. She screamed in pain and struggled, trying to get free, yelling for help. And then her eyes latched onto a bone-like hand reaching into a broken window on the bus, and yanked the teacher out who was screaming in pain and fear. Maddie only panicked more.

"No," the younger version of Maddie whimpered and looked to her friend that had been sitting beside her. But all she saw was the kid impaled by a piece of the bus, head dangling to the side. "No!" She screamed even more.

The other kids that were alive and injured, were screaming in fear and pain as well.

The bus driver was trying to get free from his seatbelt when a hand reached through the window, shattering it even more, and ripped him, along with the entire seat, out. The bus driver could be heard screaming before a splattering noise was heard and then silence.

Maddie slumped into the bus, black dots appearing in her vision. Her breathing shallowed.

She then passed out.

"I wish I stayed unconscious..." the older version of Maddie croaked out as she was forced to watch one of her most traumatic experiences.

"But where would the fun in that be?" Alastair smiled and chuckled in amusement when the redhead shot him a heated look

Then, soon enough, the young version of Maddie regained consciousness, only to see she was the last person on the bus.

Said bus was crushed even more, long scratches could be seen on various parts of the bus, along with lots more splatters of blood.

She cried out in pain.

She soon realized that was a bad mistake when a ugly looking creature crawled onto the bus, it's white-like eyes focusing in on her hurt frame.

And right when it went to attack her, it screeched in what sounded like pain as fire engulfed it.

When it fell to the ground, Dean and Sam Winchester could be seen breathing heavily, one holding a gun, while the other held a flamethrower.

"Should we move on to the next traumatic experience?" Alastair was grinning. He was happy to see tears rolling down Maddie's cheeks. "Maybe we could move on to Jo's death, huh?"

"No!" She screamed and began to pull at the chains, not caring as they cut through her flesh, not caring when her own blood dripped down into her eyes. "This is just a bad nightmare and I will not let you control it!"

Her body lurched forward, and attacked the person in front of her. She grabbed their arm and flipped them off the bed, and then gripped their neck tightly in her hand. Her eyes were wild and so was her hair, seeming to crackle with power.

"Maddie! It's me!" A faint voice croaked, gripping at her hands on their neck. "It's me, Bella, your sister!"

That seemed to snap Maddie out of her trance, and she jumped back, scooting so far away from her sister until she hit her dresser. "Wha — how — where—" she cut herself off as she frantically looked around the room before her dark eyes spotted Bella who was grasping her throat and breathing in deeply. "I am so sorry, Bella!" She pulled her knees up to her chest and began to rock back and forth, crying into her knees. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Everything was hitting her at once.

The trauma from the bus accident and her time in hell was something she thought she got over, but clearly not. And that flashback only made her remember that Dean and Cas is gone, possibly dead, Jo is dead, Ellen is dead, Ash is dead, Bobby is dead.

"I failed you all. I'm sorry. I failed you all. I'm sorry," she kept mumbling to herself, rocking back and forth, sobbing loudly.

"Maddie, it's okay. It's okay." Bella had rushed over to her sister and tried to console her. She ran her hand through her sisters hair, rubbed her shoulders, and tried to whisper nice things, but nothing seemed to pull Maddie out of her panic attack.

There was only one other person that could possibly help Maddie. So, she quickly called them.

It only took about five minutes, but Paul came busting through the front door, and running up the stairs to Maddie's room. The girl had stopped rocking back and forth at this point, but was still crying into her knees.

"Maddie... I'm here."

Her voice seemed to soothe her almost immediately. She sucked in a breath which made her hiccup, and she looked up, her pink and puffy eyes from crying locking onto his soft brown one. He quickly scrambled to her, pulling her into his embrace, allowing him to cry into his chest, as he ran his hand up and down her back, the other tangling in her red locks.

"Shhh... it's okay, I'm here and I'm never going to leave you. Shh... it's okay. Just let it out, let it out like you've needed to all along."
