IT FELT LIKE FOREVER before Maddie was even able to fall asleep which was cut off quickly with a nightmare.

It was different this time.

Instead of burning in Hell and being tortured on endless hours by multiple demons, it was of of the Cullen family laughing at her as she holds her dead sister in her arms.

Edwards and Jasper's mouth were covered in blood, no emotions in their eyes, and they were smirking proudly of the job they had done to Bella. The older sisters head was barely handing on, her eyes open wide with no life in them, and her body had turned cold and blue from being dead.

Maddie was screaming and crying into her dead sisters body, not knowing that she was screaming and twitching in her bed in the real world.

Well, that was until she was shaken away by a worried Charlie and a sleepy Bella who didn't look much better than her.

After that, Maddie stayed up the rest of the night, drawing her nightmare in a sketchbook. She wanted to remind herself to never trust anyone again, especially a group of vampires who have brought back many of her fears.

It was stupid, being angry and upset of someone leaving, but she couldn't help it. She has been abandoned by so many people in her life, either by them choosing to leave or dying, it didn't matter, it all scarred her deeply. It only proved to her that she can only rely on herself and no one else.

Except maybe Bella who was also going through the same feelings and thoughts.

So, when morning came and Charlie hesitantly left for work, the redhead made her way into the garage and to the punching bag she had set up weeks earlier.

Usually, she wouldn't take her time to wrap her hands up before beginning to punch the bag, but she had to this time because her knuckles were already busted from punching Jasper and trees.

And once she began punching the bag, her mind went straight to Jasper's emotionless face as he left her in the woods. And then she thought of Emmett who she thought was becoming her best friend.

Burning rage hissed through Madelyn's body like deathly poison, screeching a demanded release in the form of unwanted violence. It was like a volcano erupting; fury sweeping off her like ferocious waves. The wrath consumed, engulfing her completely.

Her fists were coming in contact with the punching bag, swinging it violently backwards, and she kept moving forward to the point that the bad was only going one direction, and it was never towards her.

After feeling a pain go throughout her whole hand. She stepped back and looked down at her hands which she could seen blood seeping through the bounds. She swore under her breath and went to unwrap them when she realized something wet was dripping down her cheek. Her fingers touched her cheek gently and withdrew her hand back to look down at what was there, only to see water.

"I'm pathetic," she spat to herself, shaking her head at the fact she was crying over a boy. Two boys, to be exact. They didn't deserve her tears.

Turning around to go upstairs for a glass of water, she froze in shock when her brown eyes landed on a figure in the doorway with a frown on their face.

It was Bella, who looked worse than her. She was wearing black sweats along sigh an oversized hoodie, her hair was disheveled, the purple bags under her eyes were very prominent, and her eyes held no emotion. It was like she was lifeless.

Like in the nightmare.

The both of them just stood there, taking in one another's features.

Maddie's hair was falling down into her face and neck, sticking to her due to the sweat. It probably didn't help that she was also in sweats and a hoodie which was now completely soaked in sweat. Her own purple bags were very prominent under her almost black eyes, and her whole body was spawning in pain and exhaustion.

The brown haired girl took a hesitant step inside the garage, and the words that came out or her mouth next shocked Maddie, "Will you teach me how to fight?"
