i destroy myself completely and then wonder why i am the way i am

MADDIE SILENTLY EXITED Bella's orange truck and gathered her bag into her arms before slamming the passenger door shut. She would've liked driving her own car to school, but, she felt more lonely than usual and decided to ride with Bella. And, although Bella's truck might not be the prettiest, it did remind her of one of Bobby's trucks that he had in his junkyard.

"Nice ride," a boy with dark skin and a buzz cut commented, being sarcastic. His friends that sat around him started laughing which made Maddie tighten her jaw and she hardened her dark eyes at him, making him stop smirking and squirm in his spot.

"Nice face, asshole," Maddie spat before flicking her hair and swiftly making her way up the stairs that led to the school doors.

"You didn't have to..." Bella trailed off, catching up to her sister, pushing a strand of her dark hair behind her ear.

Maddie sent her a look before they walked into the office. "She's Bella Swan, I'm Madelyn - we need our schedules."

Bella let out a breath and pushed Maddie back lightly, sending a smile to the receptionist. "Sorry about her, she's just...not a people person."

"It's quite alright, dear," the receptionist smiled at Bella who took their schedules from the nice woman.

"Give me," Maddie demanded, holding out her hand to Bella who have her, her schedule. Maddie smacked her lips as her dark eyes glanced over her schedule before looking over at Bella's. "Hmm. They made us have all the same classes." She sighed, pushing a strand of hair out of her vision. "This is going to be so much fun."

An Asian boy with dark hair and a kind smile approached the sister's. "You're Isabella and Madelyn Swan, the new girls." He sent them both a smile as Maddie let out an annoyed breath. "Hi, I'm Eric. The eyes and ears of this place," He said, raising an eyebrow at Maddie who started to walk away. Bella huffed and walked after her sister, Eric following after. "Im here for you, tour guide, lunch date, shoulder to cry on. Anything..."

"Leave, hermit," Maddie spat, glaring at Eric as she grabbed her sisters arm and sped down the hall, leaving him standing there, gaping at them.

"Mads," Bella whisper-shouted which Maddie ended up ignoring.

Maddie was never really good with showing her emotions, especially not after the last six years that she has had. She didn't think she was going to survive the apple pie life, as Dean would call it, but she was going to try her hardest, for Bobby who wanted her to have an easy life.

For most of the day, Maddie ended up ignoring everyone including the teachers who were getting very annoyed with her. She had tiredly sat in her classes, looking either out of the window or at her desk, wishing to be doing anything else, she didn't care what, she just didn't want to be in school.

Now, she was standing beside Bella, mostly just standing there, watching the other girls on her team hitting the volley ball. She let out a breath and crossed her arms, getting very irritated with them because they never let her hit the ball.

But, just as one of the girls on the other team hit the ball, it flew towards her, and because of the fact that she had her arms crossed, she didn't quite react fast enough, so when she hit the ball, it went flying towards the other side of the gym, hitting one of the boys that was playing basketball.

"Oh, my god, Maddie!" Bella exclaimed, staring at her sister with wide eyes before running towards the boy who was rubbing his head. "I'm so sorry, she wasn't paying attention and--"

"I so was paying attention!" Maddie exclaimed, stomping towards them with a heated glare. "I just crossed my arms because no one was passing the ball to me." She smacked her lips and looked at the boy. "Plus, he looks fine to me. A volley ball isn't much compared to anything else that could've happen." She rolled her dark eyes.

"It's... it's fine," the boy stumbled over his own words. He rubbed his head some more, his blonde locks getting ruffled slightly. "You're the new girl's ri-"

"Yes, yes, yes," Maddie said, huffing her eyes. "I'm Madelyn, this is Bella, and yes, we're new, obviously."

"I'm sorry about her," Bella apologized, yet, again, to someone for Maddie's behavior.

"It's... fine," the boy stated, sending a smile to both Maddie and Bella. "I'm Mike," He introduced himself, holding out his hand to Maddie who rose an amused eyebrow. "Erm, okay."

A teenage girl with brown hair tied into a ponytail stepped inbetween Mike and the sisters with a fake smile. Maddie rolled her eyes as she realized that the girl must like Mike who seemed like he couldn't take his eyes off of her and Bella. "She's got a great spike, huh?" She asked with a slight giggle. "I'm Jessica, by the way."

"I'm Bella," Bella said. "And this is my sister, Maddie." She gestured to the red head who was looking down at her shoes, frowning.

"Hey, why do you have brown hair and not her?" Jessica questioned, looking between the sisters with slightly narrowed eyes. "Are you, like, adopted?"

Maddie straightened her posture and glared at the girl. "How dare you!" She snapped, making the three teens turn to her with wide eyes. "We are sisters, and the how doesn't concern you!" She clenched her jaw and swiftly turned around before stomping away, fuming. Her face was as red as her hair and she held herself back from attacking the preppy girl. She ignored the yells from the teacher and made her way to the locker room. She hastily grabbed her bag and made her way outside, still wearing her gym clothes, but she didn't mind it as she walked into the woods and leaned up against a tree.

"I'm fine, I'm good. I can do this." She let out a labored breath, closing her eyes. "I am Madelyn Winchester-Singer. I do not cry and I do not let some bitch get to me. I have went against demons and angels, and the devil himself, so I should not let some stupid, pathetic girl get to me." She opened her eyes but she didn't feel any better so she let out a booming yell of anger and punched the tree.

Letting out a cry, she lowered her hand and cradled it, watching blood start to come out of the little wounds that the bark had made on her knuckled. "Son of a bitch!" She bent down and started going through her bag until she got to her first aid kit, grabbing some alcohol and started cleaning her cut. "Well, that's just freakin' great." She shook her head before grabbing her clothes from her bag.

She shrugged out of her shorts and put on her jeans, wiggling as she did so. She glanced around her, looking for anyone, but no one was there, so she took off her shirt and put on the flannel before shrugging on Dean's old brown leather jacket.

"Okay, I was oddly too comfortable with doing that," she spoke softly to herself, shaking her head before grabbing her bag, and making her way back into the school, all the way to the cafeteria after realizing that it was lunch time.

"Maddie!" Bella exclaimed once she saw her sister walk into the cafeteria. "Oh, my god. Are you okay?" She gasped as she saw Maddie's knuckles. "What happened?"

"Nothing." Maddie shrugged before sitting down beside her sister who was sitting at a table with Mike, Jessica, the annoying Asian kid named Eric, and another girl who was wearing glasses.

"Hey, um, I just wanted to apologize for what I said back there in the gym," Jessica, the preppy bitch spoke up, not looking as sorry as she should be.

"Apology declined," Maddie stated, biting her lip as she casted her dark eyes to the door which had been opened by five very beautiful, very pale teenagers with gold eyes. She tilted her head as she analyzed them. There was something about them that bothered her.

The first two was a large, bolder-for-arms, bulky boy with a buzzcut, and he walked beside a beautiful blonde that looked like she could outdo any other model in the world. The next two were another girl and boy, the boy walked very stiff, almost like he had a stick up his ass, and he had very curly blonde hair that could make any girl want him. The girl he was with was very much like a pixie with angelic, small features, and she was very bubbly telling from the way she was skipping instead of walking. And the last one that entered was a boy with bronze hair and a not-caring look on his face, as if he wanted to be anywhere but here, much like Maddie herself.

"Who are they?" Maddie questioned, narrowing her eyes as she watched the teens take a seat at a table away from everyone else and by a window.

"The Cullen's," the cute girl with glasses stated in a hushed whisper.

"They're Doctor and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids and they moved down from Alaska a few years ago," Jessica added with a grin, excited to spread some gossip.

"They kind of keep to themselves," the shy girl, Angela, stated, frowning slightly.

"Because they're all together. Like, together together. The blonde girl, Rosalie, and the big dark-haired guy, Emmett." Maddie straightened up slightly, her dark eyes still on the people, soaking in their features. "They're like a thing. I'm not even sure that's legal." Maddie turned her head to Jessica and pursed her lips. The one thing she hates most is when people, mostly insecure girls, petty judge others.

"Jess, they're not actually related," Angela argued, defending them.

"But they live together." Jessica shot back before turning her attention back to Maddie and Bella. "And the little dark haired girl, Alice, she's really weird..." Alice was the one that looked much like pixie. "She's Jasper's best friend, the blonde who looks like he's in pain."

Madelyn's dark eyes landed on Jasper's golden eyes and she frowned as she studied him, and she couldn't look away, something was weird about him. She sighed and turned back to Jessica and Angela.

"Um, Dr. Cullen's like this foster dad slash match maker." Jessica commented as she looked at Bella and Maddie, a glint in her eyes.

"Maybe he'll adopt me," Angela joked, giggling slightly as she looked over at the Cullen's.

"And who's he?" Bella asked as she has her eyes set on the fifth Cullen.

"That's Edward Cullen." Suddenly, Edward looked to their table as if he could hear that they were talking about him. "He's totally gorgeous, obviously. But apparently, no one here is good enough for him." Maddie narrowed her eyes as she saw Edward's lips twitch up in a smile, a slight scoff escaping him. "Like I care." Maddie turned to Jessica and smirked, seeing that she did care. "Anyway, don't waste your time."

"I wasn't planning on it."

Maddie noticed how Bella looked behind her to where Edward sat. He was looking at her and she was looking at him, and he looked absolutely frustrated and it seemed to grow the more he looked at Bella.

Maddie scoffed and grabbed Bella's face, making the slighly younger girl look at her. "Don't even think about, Bells, boys aren't good news, they only bring trouble." Suddenly, she faces Jessica. "So, how many times did he turn you down?" She asked bluntly, not blinking as Jessica stared at her with wide eyes.

A loud booming laugh sounded from the Cullen's table and Maddie turned to look over at them to see that Emmett had his head tilted back, laughing. Soon, he calmed down when Rosalie jabbed him in the side.

"I'm serious, Madelyn," Jessica spoke up after getting over her shock. "Don't waste your time."

Maddie glanced back over at the table, she couldn't help herself as she did so. She noticed that they all had the same golden eyes which confused her. They were all adopted which meant they weren't related, so that leaves a pretty big question, why did they all have the same weird eye color and have abnormaly pale skin?

The bell for the next class rang through the cafeteria, startling Maddie out of her thoughts, and she clenched her jaw as she realized she still had a couple more classes.

The red-head and Bella stood up and made their way to their next class. They had separate classes this time, and Maddie was actually kinda glad to be away from her half sister. She loved her sister, she was family after all, but she has trust issues now and doesn't want to get attached just to lose her.

Before entering the classroom, she watched Bella make her way through the crowded halls, chuckling when she saw the girl stumble over herself a few times.

She then sighed and walked into the classroom to see a few people already sitting at their assigned seats. She ignored their stares as they gossiped about her, and she handed the teacher her slip with a forced smile.

"Welcome to my class, Ms. Swan," he said with a kind smile which made her roll her eyes. "You can go ahead and sit by Mr. Hale." He pointed to the honey blonde boy who Jessica has gossiped about at lunch.

"Of course," Maddie grumbled to herself as she made her way to their desk, meeting his eyes with no emotion on her face. His whole body tensed the closer she got to him and she tilted her head, analyzing his moves. It was weird to see how unmoving he was. He seemed to not even be breathing which alerted the red head even more that he wasn't human.

Taking a seat, she let out a loud sigh, and laid her bag by her feet, glancing over at the curly headed boy, raising a brow once she saw him staring out the window with a steely gaze. Scoffing, she pulled out her notebook and began to take notes on what she was seeing from him.

Pale, tense, gold eyes, doesn't seem to be breathing - she stopped writing as she saw his eyes in the reflection from the window, they seemed to be getting darker. She pursed her lips and wrote 'eye color changes'. When the bell went off again, it meant class was about to start, so she closed her notebook and kept glancing at Jasper throughout the class, wanting to stab him with her pen.

He was staring at her as if he wanted to murder her right then and there, and that had her on edge as the hour slowly ticked by.

Madelyn clenched her jaw and tightened her grip on her pen as she felt him shift in his seat. If he was to make one move towards her, she was going to stab him in the eye.

And right when she was about to turn to him and shout in annoyance, the bell rang and Jasper basically ran out of the classroom before she even moved from her seat.

"Asshat," Maddie grumbled to herself angrily and grabbed her bag before making her way out of the classroom. And because of how annoyed she was, when someone got in her way, she shoved them into the lockers harshly before stomping passed them. "Stay out of my way, hobbit."
