congratulations. you have survived the war. Now live with the trauma

MADELYN HAD BEEN driving through different towns and states for most of her night, and it is now morning, and she was exhausted, but she kept driving. She was on her way to Forks to live with her father and sister. It was a very spontaneous thing to do, but after losing Bobby, it hit her that she needs to spend more time with her own father so that when he dies, she would know that at least she was there for him until his last moments, unlike when she wasn't there for Bobby.

The young girls eyes began to droop and her head began to fall slightly, and her hands loosened around the steering wheel. As she heard a car horn, she jerked and turned the steering wheel and almost drove off of the road, but she took control of the car quickly. Her dark brown eyes that look like black coffee, snapped wide open and she sighed.

She reached over with her right hand and grabbed a thermos full of coffee, and she took a big gulp, hoping the coffee would help. She really did not want to fall asleep because of her nightmares. They terrified her. They were full of every horrible thing that has ever happened to her. She always finds herself screaming herself awake from them, and she hated it because it made her throat sore, and it made her look completely vulnerable, which she wasn't. Atleast, she doesn't try to be.

Madelyn looked herself in her mirror as she stopped at a red light. Her red hair fell down to her waist in light curls. Her dark eyes were sunken in with dark circles under them. The dark chocolate color of her eyes looked absolutely dull and dead, and her cheeks were sunken in, as well. But, you could barely see all that under all the makeup she wore. She wanted it to seem like she was fine, that she really wasn't wishing herself dead right now.

Blowing out a breath, she hit the gas pedal as the light turned green. She tilted her head side to side, popping her neck, thinking about her father and her sister.

She hasn't seen them since she was ten. She had said by to them before she got on a bus to go to a zoo that was three towns over. But, of course, that hadn't gone as planned. Her bus was attacked by Wendigo's. She was the only survivor, though, she was very injured and so close to death until Sam and Dean Winchester came along and saved her.

Thinking about Bella and Charlie, made the seventeen year old want to get to Forks quicker so that she could take a shower. Sighing, she thought about what her life used to be, but she barely remembers it. Though, she remembers that her and Bella used to be close, as close as siblings could get, seeing as they're only a few months apart. You see, her and Bella have different mom's, though, Madelyn never knew hers and never wants to. The woman left her on Charlie's doorstep, on a freezing morning.

Letting out a loud whoop, Madelyn passed the Forks sign. She sat up in her seat more as she drove to the address that she was given. You see, she couldn't quite remember where her father lived, especially since she hasn't been to her father's for a little over six years.

Yes, It's been seven years since she's seen her family. It's not like she didn't call or send email. She kept in contact with them, just so that they wouldn't be so worried.

Pulling into the driveway, she couldn't help but let her lips twitch upwards upon seeing her father and sister, along with two people she doesn't remember. As they casted their eyes to her, she sighed and swung her door open, standing up with a full blown smirk. She slammed her car door and approached them, slightly skipping as she flipped her hair over onto one shoulder.

"Hello, losers!" She exclaimed, entwining her hands together. She was stiff and her smile didn't reach her eyes, but the others couldn't tell because they didn't know her so well.

"Maddie," Bella whispered in shock upon seeing her slightly older sister. "You're... you're actually here."

"Yup." Madelyn nodded, pursing her lips.

"I can't believe it," Bella stated, her dark eyes, much like Madelyn's, watered. "I can't... I have to go." She then ran off into the house, leaving everyone standing there, shocked.

"Well, I wasn't expecting a party or anything, but..." Madelyn smacked her lips, holding out her hands.

"I'm glad you're here," Charlie spoke up, looking at his eldest daughter. He went to give her a hug when Bella stormed out of the house and attacked Madelyn in a hug.

Madelyn stumbled back and tensed, her eyes widening as she heard Bella crying silently. "I missed you so much, Maddie. I thought... I though you died up until after a year of your disappearance when you said you found your mother's brother."

You see, Madelyn had lied when she said that she found her mother's brother, when really she was with Dean and Sam. It's not like her bio family actually looked into it seeing as she said that she was going to live with her mother's 'brother' for now on.

"Yeah..." Madelyn's voice croaked as she thought about Dean and Sam which led her to thinking about Bobby. "I... me too." She pulled away from Bella and turned to the two guys that were watching them with soft eyes.

An older man in a wheelchair smiled sadly, holding out a hand for her to shake. She stepped forward and hesitantly grabbed his hand with her own, giving it a tight squeeze. "Hello, Maddie, was it?"

"Madelyn," she snapped. "Only family calls me Maddie."

"Oh, erm." The older man smiled lightly. "It's nice to meet you, Madelyn. I'm Billy Black and this is my son, Jacob," He said, gesturing to the tall, long black haired boy who gave the girl a wide smile.

"Yeah, hi." She sent a tight lipped smile to him and then walked away to her car to grab her duffel bags. One had clothes and the other had weapons. She then wandered into the house, to her room, completely ignoring all the looks she was giving.

"I'm gonna... I'm gonna go with her," Bella muttered before running after her sister, tumbling over her feet a few times too many before she finally met up with Madelyn who was already in her room. She had thrown her duffel bag of clothes to the side while she stuffed the duffel bag of weapons in the closet, away from prying eyes. She probably should've put her stuff away, but she was so used to living on the road, that she didn't feel comfortable enough.

Once She realized that she wasn't going to do anything else, she sat on her very comfy bed, and soon laid back, relaxing slightly. She closed her heavy eyes and breathed out.

"Comfy?" Bella questioned softly, slowly sitting down beside the red head. The only thing that Madelyn did was sigh in content. "Um... nice outfit." Bella was completely awkward and didn't know what to say or how to act.

"Thanks?" Madelyn made it sound like a question but she glanced down at herself. She was wearing a black long-sleeve that clung to her chest, tight black jeans, combat boots, and she wore a black leather jacket. Putting it simply, she looked like she was getting dressed up for a funeral.

"Why...all the black?"

"Because I think I look cool," Madelyn responded, raising an eyebrow as she sat up.

"Like a spy?" Bella questioned, getting a little more comfortable.

"Yes." Madelyn smiled slightly as she fully turned to Bella who's lips twitched up. Bella went to say something but a yawn escaped Madelyn's mouth.

"Oh, erm, I guess I'll just leave and let you sleep. Uh...good night." Bella left Madelyn alone in her room.

That night, Madelyn struggled to not fall asleep, so, she spent most of the night, hiding her weapons all over her room in various places just in case anything were to happen, and she even painted sigils all over her room for protection against demons and angels.

When she did fall asleep, against her wishes, her sleeps were plaqued with nightmares. Her nightmares were much like Percy Jackson's, and it honestly scarred her.

And when she woke on the morning, she woke in a state of terror, her eyes darting around the room in alarm. She only managed to calm down by crying hysterically to herself while she sat in the corner of her room, trying to keep quiet so that she wouldn't wake her sister and father up.

Hours later, she took a quick shower, and harshly scrubbed herself red as she tried to wash away her terrors.

After the shower, she threw on black jeans, a white and black flannel with Dean's brown leather jacket that he had given her after seeing her take on a werewolf by herself. She quickly tucked a gun into the waistband of her jeans and shoved an angel blade up her sleeve before leaving her room, trying to look refreshed and happy, though, all she wanted to do was go back in her room and cry.

Her long red hair was slightly damp from the shower and fell down to her waist in slight waves.

"Hey," Charlie spoke up softly as she walked into the kitchen. She sent him a tight lipped smile and grabbed some bacon off of a plate that sat on the table.

"We're late!" Bella shouted, coming into the kitchen, grabbing Madelyn's arms. On instinct, Madelyn turned around, ready to strike Bella but stopped right before she could slide the angel blade from her sleeve. "Mads... let's go."

Madelyn sucked in a huge breath before nodding. She grabbed another handful of bacon before following after Bella.
