You reached Time Square about 15 minutes later. You landed on a nearby building with Nadia and started to scan the crowd for Quentin. You couldn't spot him anywhere. You also didn't like this crowd. There we so many people here that could get hurt. Nadia shrunk down and headed to fly among the crowd. You were now alone on the roof.

Y/N: Venom?

Venom slowly peeked out.

Y/N: Are you ok with this?

Venom didn't answer right away. Finally, he nodded.

Venom: Jussst don't over do it. He isss ssstill human.

Venom dissapeared back into your jacket. You knew that at the end of the day, Quentin was still Quentin. He wouldn't be able to take a hit like everyone else you faced. You returned your gaze to the crowd below. Nadia returned shortly after.

Nadia: He's not here.

You shook your head. He was. He had to be. But where was he?

Suddenly, a green fog rolled in. You and Nadia stood up as civilians below began to look around in a panic. The screens started to glitch before a distorted voice echoed.

Mysterio: Citizens of New York, it is I, Mysterio.

You and Nadia looked at each other in a panic.

Mysterio: Some of you may already know me. You know what I can do. Today will be a glorious display of my abilities. Thank you, for coming to my show.

Mysterio appeared above the haze on the green cloud. You and Nadia looked at each other and nodded. It was time. You both leaped off the building and into the haze. You landed on the streets below. You and Nadia placed you coms into your ears. Nadia had made them in case you lost each other. You both started to walk around, occasionally finding a civilian and telling them where to go. It was dead silent save for the occasional scream.

Suddenly, you saw a figure running towards you. It was Felicia. What was she doing here?

Y/N: Felicia....

Felicia lunged at you with her claws out. She ended up cutting you arm before kicking you away. You caught yourself. Your senses went off and you dodged another hit. Nadia started to open fire but Felicia dodged evey attack. Why was she doing this? Suddenly, it clicked. You coated your leg in black ice and delivered a round house kick, which completely destroyed the drone. The hologram of Felicia suddenly vanished.

Nadia: It was just a trick.

Y/N: Yeah. A perfect one.

The hologram moved like Felicia. It looked exactly like her.

Y/N: Looks like we can't trust anything we see.

Mysterio: You're catching on.

You both turned around and found Quentin hovering there. You and Naida took up defense but Quentin just chuckled.

Mysterio: You really don't get it, do you? You can't win this game.

Suddnely his voice was behind you. You turned around and saw a second Mysterio.

Mysterio: I am everywhere.

More Mysterios appeared all around in the green haze.

Mysterio: And I control everything.

He snapped his fingers and the haze vanished. What was left was a completely destroyed New York. You turned around and saw that Nadia was missing.

Y/N: Wasp?!

Mysterio: She can't hear you. Did you really think those stupid earphone would work?

You turned back around and found Mysterio sitting on a throne lined with skulls.

Mysterio: I always hated post apocalypse movies. Always so bleak and dramatic.

He stood up and suddenly a staff was in his hands.

Mysterio: I did like the fights though.

He flew towards you with his weapon at the ready. You dodged the attack and tried to deliver a kick to his back but Mysterio blocked it. He used his staff to swipe your feet out of under you but you caught youself on your hands and began to spin. Mysterio blocked every hit with his staff. Finally, you leaped up and delivered an electric blow to his helment which destroyed the illusion. You were back in the green haze.

Y/N: Come out here and fight me!

Mysterio: I don't think so.

The haze began to change again. This time, you were in the woods. You walked around before stepping on something. You looked down and saw that it was a sign. Camp Crystal Lake.

Mysterio: I know how much you loved these movies.

Your senses went off and you phased in time for a machete to stab into your chest. You moved out of the way and spotted Mysterio. He was holding the machete while his helmet mimicked a hockey mask. He swung the machete again but you covered your arm with black ice which broke the metal. He then summoned an ax which he used to attack. He manged to get it into your shoulder. You grunted in pain before kicking him away. You pulled the ax out and threw it at him but it vanished. You leaped over to where he was was and destroyed the false image.

The world turned green again.

Y/N: I'm done with these games Quentin.

Mysterio: How funny. I'm just beginning!

The haze lifted and you were back in Times Square. Did he get away? Suddenly, the world itself started to shake. You looked up into the sky and found yourself looking at something horrifying.

Y/N: What the hell is that?

Mysterio: Galactus! Eater of Worlds!

He then turned to you.

Mysterio: And under my control.

Mysterio snapped his fingers and Galactus lifted his massive hand. You watched as he began to slam it down on to the entire earth. You couldn't survive this. How was he even able to conjure this up? Wait a second. You summoned a ice shield and used your strength to throw it. Sure enough, once it was high enough the haze broke ever so slightly and revealed the swarm of drones behind it. You smiled as you summoned up enough electricity to blast at them. The illusion broke.

Mysterio: How dare you?!

The world returned to haze. You touched the com on your ear to try and get Nadia.

Y/N: Wasp? Come in Wasp.

Nadia: I-ere.

The signal was jumbled but she was safe.

Y/N: Mysterio is toying with us. Keep an eye out. If you can't find a way to beat his illusion then fly up out of the haze.

Nadia: C-py.

You lowered your hand and slowly walked through the smoke. Time Square was a big place so Quentin could be hiding anywhere.

Y/N: Venom?

Venom: I can't sssmell him through the sssmoke.

There goes that idea. You contoued to walk around before you reach a set of steps. Right. Those were really in Times Square. The haze parted slightly enough for you to see Quentin standing there on the top of the steps.

Mysterio: You really aren't giving up, are you?

You shook your head.

Y/N: I don't want to fight you Quentin. You're my friend.

Mysterio: And you were mine! You could've prevented all of this if you had just stayed away. Everything was fine before you came along.

Y/N: Nothing would've changed! Nadia would have still turned you down.

Mysterio: It's so much more than just her.

He looked at you and clenched his fists.

Mysterio: You made me feel weak. I didn't need you to save me when I was in trouble. Nadia was enough.

He lifted his hand.

Mysterio: So stay away.

He shot something out of his wrist which you caught. The can suddenly burst open and red smoke appeared. You stumbled back and looked around. You could only see green. What was going on? Suddenly, something hit you. Then again, and again, and again. You dropped to your knees just as the figure tried to attack you again. You rolled out of the way. Way wasn't your senses reacting?

The figure attacked you again but you leaped away. You looked around in the haze before you spotted someone move. You rushed over to it, only to be knocked back. You tried to pick yourself back up but you were held down by a heavy force.

???: Pathetic.

You opened your eyes and found, you. It was a perfect copy of you. Fake you popped his claws out and smiled.

"Y/N": Time to die.

The fake you stabbed into the ground as you moved your head. You then used your strength to kick him away. You stood back up and watched as he leaped towards you. You popped out your claws and tried to stab into the drone but you missed. The fake you rolled to a stop before glaring at you.

"Y/N": You know you don't have a chance with her.

The fake you leaped towards you and you ended up locking claws.

"Y/N": I can't wait to see you bleed.

You grunted and pushed him away. You smiled.

Y/N: So you copied me. That's pretty impressive. There's just one issue with that!

You heated up your claws and attacked yourself.

Y/N: I got moves the cameras never seen before!

Your heated claws stabbed into the fake you while your other hand, now covered in black ice, slammed into the drone. Once it was on the floor, you smashed it with your foot.

Mysterio: Impossible! I used every bit of footage I could find to replicate you!

You smiled as you turned towards the stairs.

Y/N: Maybe. Maybe the camera tricks you. I heard it adds a few pounds.

You charged your feet and leaped towards Quentin. He came into view and you were ready to attack, unti Nadia stepped in the way. You suddenly stopped yourself before you could hot her.

Y/N: Wasp?

Nadia: We can't hurt him!

What?

Y/N: You told me you could when it came down to it. We have to stop him.

Nadia shook her head and held out her arms to defend him.

Nadia: I won't let you. He's our friend.

You winced at her words.

Y/N: I know. But he needs to be stopped. This isn't the Quentin we know anymore.

Nadia shook her head again.

Nadia: If you want to get to him, you'll have to go through me first.

You took a step back. What was wrong with her......wait a sec. You stared at her for a moment. Everything was perfect. Even the ear piece. You focused on her. You had to be sure. You used you telepathy to get into her mind, only to find nothing.

You couldn't chance it. You couldn't hurt Nadia if this really was her.

Venom suddenly appeared and ripped her head clean off. The drone shattered and the illusion was gone.

Mysterio: How?!

Venom: I'm sssorry, you little nerd.

You bent down and charged your legs again before launching yourself towards him. You swung.

You turned back around to the kid who was looking at his apple. He looked up at you and awkwardly smiled.

Beck: T-thanks.

Y/N: No problem. You ok? They didn't rough you up too much did they?

Beck: N-no. I-I n-never h-had a-anyone h-help m-me l-like t-that b-before.

Oh he had a stutter. A really bad one to. Yikes.

Y/N: Like I said, no problem. What's your name?

Beck: Q-quentin. Q-quentin B-beck.

You shook his hand.

Y/N: Nice to meet you Quentin.

He seemed to calm down a bit.

Quentin: You t-to. What's your n-name?

So his stutter was only bad when he's scared or nervous. Good to know.

Y/N: Y/N. I just transferred here.

The haze cleared and Nadia looked around before she found you standing over Quentin. His glass done was shatter which showed his face. All the drones fell from the sky and all the illusions vanished just as the sun began to set.

Quentin: H-How?

You looked down at him.

Y/N: I didn't know for sure.

Venom appeared on your shoulder.

Venom: Your ssscent wasss the only one I sssmelt.

Quentin: M-My scent?

Venom returned to your shoulder as you turned away. You couldn't look at him like this. You instead looked up into the sky.

Quentin: I m-messed up. D-Didn't I?

You nodded.

Quentin: I h-hurt you a-and Nadia.

Y/N: Yeah. In more ways than one.

Quentin began to get tired. It must've been from the gas now entering his lungs.

Quentin: Do y-you think s-she could forgive me?

You nodded.

Y/N: With time.

Quentin looked over to you.

Quentin: C-Could you e-ever forgive m-me?

You stayed silent. Quentin turned back to look into the sky.

Quentin: I'm t-tired.

You lifted your scarf to cover your mouth.

Y/N: Then you should rest now, little buddy.

Quentin slowly closed his eyes, now unconscious. You tightened your grip onnyour scarf as tears threatened to fall. You choked them up before l9okimg into the sky.

Y/N: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Everyone began to cheer at you victory. The screens changed to you standing next to Quentin as he laid defeated on the ground. The screen read "The Roar Heard Around New York".

Nadia rushed to you and saw Quentin. She turned to you and shook her head. You both embraced each other before you fell to your knees. You sobbed with Nadia while everyone around you cheered. To them, you were exhausted and hurt.

To you and Nadia, you had just defeated a friend. You have defeated Dr. Doom, M.O.D.O.K, the Wrecking Crew, villian after villian. This was your hardest battle yet.

You won, but you couldn't help but feel defeated.
