M.I.A
Music contiued to blare as the people danced around freely. The club was more packed than normal but it helped. In a darker corner, a small crowd surrounded a table where two men were playing a game of willpower. 6 empty shot glasses were on the table as the crowd cheered the two men on.
Luke: You're still doing?
His challenger, a young man who had caught plenty of attention, smiled.
Hyde: You know it. Drink up old man.
Luke smiled as he took another shot. Everyone then turned to Hyde who smiled. He took a shot effortlessly causing everyone to cheer.
Luke: God damn, I can't see straight.
Hyde laughed.
Hyde: I couldn't see straight before we started. God damn that was some good shit that chick gave me.
Luke smiled as he reached for another glass. He tried to lift it up but couldn't. He was done for. Everyone turned to Hyde who shook his head. He grabbed the glass and took the shot. He slammed it down and looked at Luke.
Hyde: Looks like I win.
Everyone cheered as Luke handed Hyde the money. The music played but Hyde was too focused on counting his cash. $300. It was all there.
Hyde: Always a pleasure!
He stood up and stumbled back to his table. He sat down and watched as everyone danced on the dance floor. His eyes watched a certain woman move in her tight cocktail skirt. The way she moved had caught him in a trance. She had came here with her friends who had long since gone for drinks. Looks like it was his time to shine.
Hyde stood up and made his way over to the dancefloor where he found the woman. A beautiful blonde bombshell that had caught his eye when she first walked in. He finally reached her and slowly moved to the music. He was dressed in nice enough clothing and he was getting eyed by most every girl in the club.
He tapped her shoulder and offered his most charming smile.
Hyde: Can I cut in?
---------
Hyde buttoned his last button as he walked out of the bathroom. He looked around before heading back to the bar. The woman, Jane, June, Janice, whatever, walked out while straightening out her skirt.
Hyde reached the bar and ordered a bourbon. He could feel the effects of whatever drug the lady at the door had given him wear off. He got the drink and slammed it down in one go. He paid his tab and decided to call it a night. He stumbled out of the club, the music echoing in his head, and made his way down the street.
The cool wind hit him like a train and he was suddenly regretting not bringing a coat. He yawned as he slowly made his way to his apartment. It wasn't anything fancy but it was his own place to live. Technically it wasn't in his name but it didn't matter. As far as anyone was concerned, he was 21.
He opened the door and turned on the light before looking around. It was clean enough, he only really slept here, but he knew there wasn't any food in the fridge. He decided he didn't care as he landed face first on the couch. He was tired and the drugs had worn off. He ended up falling asleep on the couch as the TV stayed on showing reruns.
--------
Hyde woke up to the sound of knocking on his apartment door. He groaned as he rolled off his couch and dragged himself to his door. He stood up and straightened himself out before opening it. It was his neighbor, a girl who was his age but didn't know it.
Maya: Good morning!
Hyde smiled. She was a good girl with a bright smile and a kind heart. She was a Senior in high school and on the edge of her 18th birthday.
Hyde: Morning Maya. What can I do for you?
Maya: I was just checking in. You didn't come back until late last night.
Hyde raised a brow with a smirk.
Hyde: Really? And how do you know that? Did you stay up until I got back?
Maya blushed.
Maya: Not really! I, uh, was studying last night.
Hyde laughed. She was too cute.
Hyde: I'm good. How are you?
Maya smiled a bit.
Maya: I'm good.
Hyde talked to her for a bit before she had to head back to her apartment. Hyde returned to his and sat back down on the couch. He grabbed the half empty cup of water and chugged it before slamming it back down. He shook off an incoming headache and decided to take a shower.
-------
Hyde yawned as he walked down the street. He really should try to get more sleep. Whatever. He was just looking to see what he would do today. Sky was the limit with him since he didn't have any real responsibilities to worry about.
He decided he would just aim mindlessly until he found something to entertain him. Maybe he could get some coffee. Wasn't there a Cafe somewhere around here? Maybe he could grab something there.
Hyde turned the corner and reached the Cafe. Looks like this will do. He started to walk in but stopped. He back up and looked at the sign. He shook his head and started to walk away before he heard a familiar voice.
???: Maybe you should try a different shade of purple. It could bring out your eyes more.
???: I was thinking more pockets but that works to.
???: If I wanted to talk about girly crap I would've stayed with Kamala.
Hyde peeked over his shoulder and saw three people walking towards the Cafe. He shook his head and walked away.
???: Hey, isn't that...
Hyde sped up and ducked into an alleyway before he jumped up and grabbed onto a fire escape. He began to climb it just as the trio showed up. They saw Hyde just as he reached the roof. He heard one faster approaching and Hyde began to run.
He leaped from building to building before he found a door. It was locked so he had to leap through the small window to enter the building. He rushed down the staircase but stopped when the door below him opened. The two girls entered and looked up at him. He was about to rush back up but the one boy flew down.
Sam: Y/N...
Hyde leaped over the railing and dropped down below. He landed and ran out of the building. He didn't get far before he bumped into another person. He slammed on the ground and looked up.
Widow: Looks like we found the stray.
Hyde sighed as he just stayed on the floor.
----------
You sat at the table while Window glared at you. You could just break free from these handcuffs but you didn't feel like it was worth the struggle. What will it even get you?
Widow: You ready to talk.
You didn't answer. Widow placed down what she found in your pockets. A wallet with a fake ID, some cash, a pack of cigarettes, and a lighter.
Widow: Care to explain?
Y/N: You kidnapped me off the streets.
She sighed before she sat back down. She covered her face with her hands before she looked at you.
Widow: We've been looking for you for the last two months. You were almost resigstered as dead by SHIELD.
Y/N: Be better off that way.
Widow: What's going on with you Y/N? Everyone's been worried sick.
You just rolled your eyes.
Y/N: Do I look like I care? It's not like it even matters.
Widow: Is that what this is about? Moon Knight told us everything after you left. You really believe that everything was a lie?
You laughed.
Y/N: As funny as it might sound, I've been doing a lot of drugs since I left. Every single time it fucks with the Godslayer Protocol and I can think straight. He was right. I didn't feel a damn thing when I thought about you all.
Widow: After everything you went through?
You just nodded. You didn't feel love for any one of your "girlfriends", you didn't miss your "friends", and you didn't even care for your own life. You had become an empty shell the more you realized that you were just created for one thing.
Widow: They miss you. Everyone.
Y/N: Let them. They're better off anyways.
You broke the cuffs and stood up.
Y/N: I'll stay out of the way.
You walked towards the door but stopped when Widow grabbed your arm.
Widow: We're not done here.
You snatched your arm away and turned towards her.
Y/N: We ar...
You suddenly found yourself on the ground. Widow looked down at you in disappointment.
Widow: Why didn't you sense that?
You groaned as you stood up. Widow just looked at you.
Widow: Hit me.
You looked at her confused.
Y/N: What?
Widow: Hit me. If you can land a hit then you can leave.
You rolled your eyes and tried to attack her. Every hit was blocked or dodged. Soon enough, you were back on the floor.
Widow: That's what I thought.
You pushed yourself back up and leaned against the wall.
Y/N: The hell did that prove?
Widow: That you're a drunk and a druggie. You lost your touch.
She threw your jacket down at you.
Widow: Looks like you're coming with me.
You threw your jacket on and looked at her.
Y/N: Where?
Widow opened the door which let in a blinding light.
Widow: Home.
------------
You looked around the house and saw that there was nothing around for miles. It was cold and you could hardly see.
Y/N: So this is Russia.
Widow: It is. Consider this your home until you can get your shit back together.
You just shook your head.
Y/N: This is pointless. The Godslayer Protocol will kick in and...
Widow: Those words are not allowed here. Until you're back to the way you were, you're going to be training everyday. I will assign you missions and you will carry them out without question. Once I feel like you're ready, I'll send you to find Reed Richards.
You sighed. It wasn't like you had much of a choice. In truth, you wanted this. You wanted a way to stop the Protocol. You wanted to live your own life. You wanted to feel your own emotions. You longed for the bonds you had once forged. You wanted them to be real.
Y/N: Fine. When do we start?
