Night slowly fell upon New York as you activated your mask. Laura still hasn't woken up but Cindy was staying behind to watch over her. You even gave the amulet to Lockheed for safe keeping. Should anything happen, he can take it away. You looked at your blades as you waited for to head out. The Ebony Blade and the Muramasa Blade fit into your hands perfectly by this point. They just felt natural. Finally, it was time.

You stood up and placed your blades on your back. You then turned to Cindy who stood up to see you off.

Cindy: Good luck. We'll be waiting for you to return.

You smiled under your mask.

Y/N: Alright. I'll be back before sunrise. Please look over Laura.

Cindy nodded. She hugged you before returning to Laura. You turned away and petted Lockheed before setting out towards Avengers Tower. You felt the flames within you grow the longer you walked down the street. You ended up getting close to a check point.

Y/N: Looks like I'll just need to make a portal. That should get me in.

You ducked into an alley and summoned a portal. You quickly jumped through before closing it. You stood up in the hall of the fifth floor of the tower before you realized you were surrounded. Soldiers all looked at you before aiming their guns at you. You pulled out your blades and smirked under your mask. The Ebony Blade was now on fire while the Muramasa Blade was coated in electricity.

Y/N: Let's get this started.

They startes to open fire but you dodged every bullet before you leaped up and started with slicing through a guard. You kicked up his rifle and kicked it hard enough to launch it into another guard's neck causing it to snap. You stabbed into another and aimed the Ebony Blade towards another guard before summoning a fire vortex that cleared the path.

You pulled your blade out and leaped through the clearing. You froze the wall trapping about three men before you threw a massive fireball down the hall to get whoever was left. Electricity covered your body and you used your strength and fire to further boost your speed. The cells were on the 12th level meaning you have a few floors to get through.

The Emperor opened his eyes at the sounds of the alarms. Tyrone appeared from the darkness.

Y/N: Explain.

Tyrone: There is an intruder.

A screen appeared before the Emperor that showed you fighting through the guards.

Y/N: I see. Summon the Elites and bring him to me alive.

Tyrone: As you wish.

He vanished as the Emperor continued to watch the footage.

You leaped from wall to wall with great speed. You sliced through every soldier that came your way. You had to be fast before the Emperor could call in any of his soldiers. The cells are closer but you still had a ways to go. Just a few more floors. Suddenly your shoulder was blasted and you slammed against the ground. You quickly recovered and found Nadia standing there.

Nadia: We get to play again.

She blasted at you again but you leaped away and leaped towards her. You tackled her and slammed her against the wall.

Y/N: Last chance Nadia. Either snap out of it or I will hurt you.

Nadia: My mind's never been more clear!

She stabbed your gut and you sighed. So be it. You broke the blade from her wrist and pulled it out before kicking her away. You looked down at the blade and looked around. More footsteps. Gwendolyn. You looked at the blade one more time before throwing it down the hall. Gwendolyn blocked it and contiued to charge at you.

You caught her blade and snapped it in half before kicking her away. Nadia recovered and blasted at you but you moved out if the way before throwing the broken blade at her. It stabbed into her shoulder and you leaped towards her. You kicked the blade so that it it was now lodged into the wall.

You leaped back and felt Gwendolyn stab into your shoulder. You broke it and slammed a fist into Gwendolyn's gut. You pulled out the blade and stabbed it into her knee. You backed up and looked at the two women. Nadia pushed herself off of the wall and grabbed onto her shoulder. Gwendolyn pulled out her own blade and the two glared at him.

It finally hit you. They were beyond saving. There was no point.

Y/N: Then they can suffer.

The two leaped towards you to attack again but you took a deep breath before igniting your hands. You aimed them towards the two girls and closed your eyes, now glitching a purple color, as you released a firey blast. Gwendolyn screamed out in pain as her body ignited but Nadia managed to escape the attack. She reached you but you popped out your claws and stabbed into her. You slammed her onto the ground and stood back up.

Y/N: W-What was that?

You heard more footsteps and ran down the hall. You then leaped down the hall towards your goal. Gwendolyn collapsed to the floor, now burned everywhere, while Nadia slowly bleed out.

The Emperor bit down on his thumb as he watched you. You were stronger than he thought. This could be very useful.

You pushed your way through the door and looked up the staircase. You ignited your feet and flew up towards the 12th floor. Before you could get too far, your senses went off. Not from below either. You quickly phased the arrow through you but you needed to catch your blades before they could fall. You landed on the stairs and looked up to see Katie.

Katie: You're a problem.

You snarled before leaping up the stairs towards her but was blasted back when she shot a second arrow you didn't sense. You hit the railing before falling forward and slamming your face on the one opposite to it. You managed to catch yourself just as Katie jumped down.

She ended up kicking you which sent both of you falling down the floors. You hit the ground and she landed on top of you before pulling out her bow and aiming it at your head.

Katie: These arrows were made for people like Kitty. You won't phase through them.

You smirked.

Y/N: I don't need to.

She let go of the arrow but you opened you mouth and caught it. You then bit down which broke it before flipping the tip in your mouth. You then spat it out with enough force to stab into Katie's cheek. You kicked her off of you and grabbed your blades.

She pulled the arrow from her cheek leaving a bloody wound before smirking.

Katie: So it's going to be like this then.

Y/N: And they say I'm the monster.

She readied her bow and fired off a arrow but you blocked it before leaping forward. You went to attack with your blades but she used her bow to block your attacks while using a spare knife to try and cut you. You eventually let go of the Ebony Blade and caught the knife with your bare hand before shattering it in time to catach your sword. You ducked under her and sliced her leg cauing her to fall over. You stood back up and watched as she rolled around in agony. She pushed herself up and glared at you.

Katie: She would be alive if you were stronger.

You raised a brow.

Y/N: What do you mean?

Katie: Felicia. She would still be here if you weren't so weak. You're from the past. Prevent it. Prevent all of this.

You were about to ask what she was talking about before a sharp pain flashed through your mind. Katie watched as you eye glitched the strange purple. You looked down at her and your blood began to boil.

Y/N: You could've done something. You could've joined the others.

Katie: You would've killed me.

Your eye glowed even darker.

Y/N: Who said I won't now?

Without thinking, you slammed your fist into her face which slammed her down into the floor causing it to crack. Her entire head erupted in a fountain of blood. You removed you hand and saw what remained. Your eye returned to normal and you suddenly came to realize what you had just done.

Y/N: What the hell?

You looked at your hand and started to shake. You had killed her. And you didn't even give it a second thought. You shook your head and looked up the stairs. You had no idea what was going on but you needed to stay focus.

You blasted up and reached the 12th floor before kicking in the door. You then rushed down the corridors and spotted soldiers guarding a certain door. They spotted you and went to attack but you were quicker. You sliced through them quickly and came to a halt. You put your blades away as the men fell to the floor. You stood up and walked over to the door. You used a card that one of the guards had and opened the door. You stepped in and found Riri laying on the floor. It was clear that she was beaten.

Riri: Y/N?

Y/N: Yeah. Come on. We're getting out of here.

Y/N: Report.

Tyrone: Nadia, Gwendolyn, and Katie were all defeated. Katie was killed but the other two are in intensive care.

The Emperor clenched his fist. Not out of anger though. Out of excitement.

Y/N: Bring him to me. I trust you won't let me down.

Tyrone nodded and vanished. The Emperor looked at the screen and watched as you carried Riri through the halls.

Riri: The transport train is through here.

You followed her directions and entered a room with a train. You opened the door and placed Riri down on a seat before moving to the controls. You activated the train and it started to move forward. You returned to Riri and checked over her wounds.

Y/N: How are you holding up?

Riri: I've been a lot better. Those bitches really did a number on me.

It looked like it. You stood up and looked around for something to help patch her up. Your senses started to go off but you couldn't find anything. Suddenly, you were hit by an unseen force. You leaped up and found Tyrone standing there.

Tyrone: You're coming with me.

You stood up and readied your blades.

Y/N: I think you forgot who taught you how to fight.

Tyrone glared at you.

Tyrone: The Emperor taught me. You're just a pest.

He flew towards you but you managed to slice him with the Muramasa Blade before you kicked him with a powerful lighting kick. He managed to catch himself before dashing towards you. You blocked his blow but he swiped his cloak at you. He ended up getting your arm which caused you great pain. You stumbled back holding your arm which was slowly turning black.

Y/N: What the hell?

Tyorne: Like I told you. The Emperor taught me how to fight.

He leaped at you again but never made it. Something hit him and blew a hole in the side of the train. You fell to the ground and looked up to see that Riri had found a weapon.

Y/N: Thanks for the back up.

Riri: Just take care of him.

You nodded and blasted out of the train. You landed on the roof and faced down Tyrone who had recovered. He dashed towards you again but you blocked him again with the blades. You pushed him away and counter attacked which knocked him off his feet. You looked down at your arm and saw it was slowly turning back to normal.

Tyrone stood back up and you saw that his eyes had now turned fully black. He began to expand his cloak which created a black hole that began to suck you in. You stabbed into the roof and tried to hold on. You ended up getting pulled away from your blades but you managed to stab into the roof with your claws. You tried to pull yourself away but found it hard to do. Suddenly, you had an idea. You let one hand go and opened a portal in front of Tyrone before letting go.

You went flying through the portal and appeared behind Tyrone. Your eye started to glitch but you fought it back. You popped out your claws as Tyrone turned around. You lunged at him and managed to slice at his cloak but he grabbed your wrist. You ignited your feet and leaped out of his gasp just far enough to land on your head before spinning. Your foot hit him which caused him to fall over.

Tyrone: Hell's Kitchen?!

You leaped up and lifted your hand before you saw that it was now glowing with a black energy. You smirked as you slammed it down on to him. Instead of your hand going through, it connected. Tyrone spat out some blood but you were quick to kick him off of the train. Once he was out of sight, you leaped back into the train with Riri.

Riri: Did you get rid of him?

You nodded.

Y/N: I think I got a new power to.

You lifted up your hand and summoned the black energy again. Riri looked at it in amazement.

Riri: It's some kind of a black hole energy.

You nodded. You got rid of it and looked out the window. You wondered what had happened when you attacked the girls like you did. It almost happened with Tyrone to. What the hell was going on with you?

You stopped thinking about it when Riri placed her hand on your shoulder. She smiled at you as the sun began to rise on the city.

Riri: We'll get him soon.

You smiled.

Y/N: Yeah. Together.

Riri nodded. The two of you looked at the sunrise with a small glimer of hope.

Molly: Are they ok?

The Emperor shook his head.

Y/N: The man who attacked, he killed Katie. Nadia and Gwendolyn are really hirt to.

Molly looked down sadly. You placed a hand on her knee as you looked at her. Robbie watched the two of you interact with cold eyes. He recalled the days when he would play big brother to the two of you. It was just natural instinct after taking care of Gabe for so long. Watching the two of you reminded him of those days.

Y/N: I will find him. When I do, he'll pay.

Molly sniffed as tears threatened to fall. You held her tightly as she began to cry. You then looked at Robbie.

Y/N: Go check on Tyrone. If he's well enough to fight, I want the two of you to rally the troops with Tandy and Doreen.

Robbie nodded and turned to leave. He stopped when he noticed sometjing out of the corner of his eye. He looked and saw Felicia. She was watching you and Molly embrace with sad eyes. She then noticed Robbie looking at her.

She mouthed something to him but he didn't hear her. No one could. Not since you lost her. She gave Robbie a sad look before she glitched and vanished. Robbie looked at the door before pushing it open. As he walked down the hall he wondered if he was truly doing the right thing. He was loyal to you but he had learned to be a spirit of vengeance.

As he walked down the hall, his eyes began to glow a beautiful orange. Maybe it was time to remember what it meant to be a Hero.
