Chapter 29

With a flick of her wrist I felt my arms get pulled behind my back, one wrong move and I was sure they would snap, but I could still move my head to see two vampires on either side of me, and looking over at Finn I saw he was having the same problem as I was. Except Finn was one of the older vampires and slightly more powerful so gave more of a struggle.

Jen started to walk to him and touched his shoulder making him calmer. "The boy let you out of the cell okay?" Jen asked, and then looked over at me.

"How did you—" I got gagged...again.

Why does this always have to happen to me! Finn didn't get anything over his mouth. Was he working with her? But then why would he have to hold back by vampires? Was that also part of the plan to trick me that he was on my side? The look on his face settled my nerves. He looked shocked, he didn't know either how Jen knew we got out of the cell.

Jen backed up away from him and placed both her hands on her hips. "I made sure that everyone was here to see this big moment. So I told this boy in the castle that if he let you escape I would give him something in return. The boy told me something very interesting that he wanted. He told me that he knew Finn, that Finn was the man who turned him into a vampire. And that he wanted to give him something in return for doing so."

My body started to be dragged backwards and to the side of the tree; I didn't know why they were doing this, but I didn't have a good feeling.

"How did you know that we would be stuck in the cells?" Finn asked.

"Just a thought, anyways," she dismissed his question." I made a deal with this boy."

The tree opened and Jude walked in.

What was he doing here? He said he was staying at the castle.

Finn didn't see him. "What kind of deal?"

Jude pulled a small knife from the inside of his pocket.

Finn still had his back facing the tree. I tried making small noises through the cloth, but no sound would come out. I tried pounding my feet on the ground to get his attention, but he was too concentrated on Jen to focus on anything else.

"The deal was that if he let you free, he would get his revenge. He never wanted to be a vampire, he wanted to die. He never wanted saving." She was speaking in Finn's direction, but he couldn't hear her, his head was already on the ground. "He finally got his revenge."

Jude put the bloody knife back into his pocket.

Jen turned to me. "Now wasn't that easy? One swipe is all it took, it wouldn't have been that easy to kill the prince, because he's a royal, but you get the drift." The gag was removed from my mouth. "Any comments?"

I watched as Finn's body was carried away. Jude was walking behind them with a rare smile on his face.

"Why? Why would you do that?" My voice already sounded defeated.

"I needed a way to get you out of the cell, and that was my way." She continued to walk forward and I continued to be dragged. "I got two things done at once."

I tried digging my heels into the ground to make the vampires stop pulling me, but they wouldn't. "You wanted to kill Finn! He was your only beloved!"

"Yes, and I don't care about some beloved." She stopped, and the men holding me stopped too. "That night that you saw me stab the glass threw my heart; I was planning on killing myself, not turning into...this." She made a disgusted face as she looked at her hands. "I already told my sister that if something happened to me, then she would take over. I was already planning on reuniting with my Lucas, but nope, that all was ruined when Finn couldn't keep his Fangs to himself! So back up plan had to happen and once my fangs came out I jumped through the window."

"He loved you and you got someone to kill him!"

"I didn't love him back! I love Lucas, but look where that got me! Love is a sick joke that everyone seems to want, and once they get it are too addicted to let it go."

"You just didn't want to let go of Lucas, you didn't want to fall in love again!"

"That's not true! I would never fall in love with Finn! I had my love and he got taken away from me. And you aren't the perfect person either, because you can't seem to let Trent go. You fell too hard for the addiction of love, just like I did. We are both messed up, and that's why when I met you I was drawn to you, I thought we could get to know each other and become great friends." She was shouting at the beginning but started to calm down near the end.

"I wouldn't be friends with a monster."

"Yet you are in love with a monster," she said, no hesitation in her voice.

Trent; He must be here, but what had she done with him?

She started walking again, she was taking me somewhere. "Where is Trent?"

"You'll see him shortly, anyways back to my story. I really did think we could be great friends." She sighed, "I did want to kill you when we first met, it would be a faster way to make the prince angry and then come after me; me being the person who would have killed you. There I would have hid in the closet, and told some of the guards working for me to make the 'saving humans cause' attack the castle giving me just enough time to run away, and get my parents out of the cell. Then Trent would follow my scent where a group of people would capture and kill him. It would have been so much easier"

I was right; she once wanted to kill me.

"Why didn't you go along with it?" A sick mind like hers, I didn't know what to expect.

"I told you, I became close to you, I couldn't kill you, and you were too innocent in the plan. So imagine my surprise when Hound tells me that you are no longer part of the plan." Her hands clenched into fists.

That must have been the guy that first visited me in the cells. Hound was a good name for him; he was loyal to his master.

"You couldn't kill me, and I couldn't kill Trent. You should have understood where I was coming from." She still had her back to me walking; we still weren't at the destination she wanted.

"But he wasn't innocent." That was the end of our talk.

We had arrived.

In front of me stood an object placed in the center of the field with a cloth placed on top.

"What is that?" I wanted to know, but at the same time I didn't.

"You did always ask the best questions," Jen replied sarcastically as she walked up to the cloth, "But I will be happy to show you." She ripped it off the top of the object.

I found Trent.

His clothes were all shredded on him; it was like he wasn't wearing any at all, but just enough to cover the essential areas. His arms were around what looked like a small metal pole with a top, and his hands chained together around it, he was sitting on the floor with his head hung low and a gag around his mouth.

A man came out with a full armor looking outfit and a long whip in one of his gloved hands. He pulled his arm back and started beating it on Trent's exposed skin, adding to the cuts and bruises, but what surprised me was that they weren't healing. He was supposed to heal fast. Why wasn't he healing?

I had to look away. "Stop! Please stop!!" I could feel blood dripping down my face.

Jen put her hands above her head and the whipping stopped. She looked at me. "Why want to stop the fun? We are just getting started?" She smiled; she knew why I wanted him to stop.

"Why isn't Trent healing?" Just saying his name made him look up at me, I didn't know if he could see me threw his busted eyes, but just to know that he was still alive was reassuring.

"Silver and ancient oak is a deadly combination, and burn normal vampires skin, but a royal it's only a pinch. Now doubling the amount is deadly to a normal vampire, but burns extremely to a royal, which means, no healing."

I stared more closely at Trent, I wanted to run up to him so bad and get him out. I couldn't watch him be hurt like this, but if I even so much as touch the cuffs on his wrists I would be dead.

"Now don't worry, this is only the first stage of killing a royal. The last one is fire. It will truly be exciting!" She was acting like a little girl before her big birthday party. How could I have ever thought that this woman was ever a good person?

I heard the whip go again and shut my eyes, trying to block out the noises. "Why do you want to kill him so bad? He was becoming a better person! And don't tell me some Bull shit like humans could realize that they could take down vampires, because you could have just done that with posters."I rarely cursed, but it felt so good to say.

She gestured the men that held me to follow her as we went out of sight from Trent. "You catch on fast...so let me just get you up to where we are today. When I was working in the castle I also stumbled across some book in the library they had, all about how to kill vampires and everything! Not smart to leave around if you ask me. There was also some other book that was locked away in one of the drawers that I found a key to, and in it was a bunch of information, but my favorite one is where it showed how to get rid of vampires forever, and that's just what we are going to do."

She must have found the book that Kally found in the original vampires house, the one book that helped her and Trent learn more about vampires when they first turned.

Jen seemed to be in her own world as she talked to me about this stuff, because the people around us became quiet as she continued on with her story, everyone wanted to hear what she had to say.

"Just by killing the royals all vampires will die, but not right away. Since the blood from the original vampires was given down to the royals they are the ones that created all vampires after them and continued the cycle of vampire transformation, but once they die everything will be set back. All vampires will have left is how old they were when they turned. If they were 21 when they were turned they have 21 years left to live, if they were 40, they have 40 years left to live, etc, but also all blood will be poison so they can't drink or try to turn anyone else without dying."

"If all royals have to die for that to work you would have needed to kill Kally too." I looked around and didn't see her anywhere. I know she came here with Trent.

Jen rolled her eyes like I asked a dumb question. "She is already dead."

"Do you realize you are going to kill yourself in the process?" I stated.

"Of course I do! I keep telling you I never wanted to be a vampire and I'm not afraid of death, I'm going to finally be reunited with Lucas. And the cause that we started to long ago will finally be done!"

There was a hissing noise that came from the crowd of people. Jen and I both looked around to see a man come out; Kyle.

"That was never part of the plan," he said, his eyes going to a dark shade of red.

"It was part of my plan, I don't know about yours." That was all she said, and that was what it took for Kyle to lunge at her and no one stood in his way. The vampires holding my arms let go just so they wouldn't get attacked.

Once Kyle's hands were locked around Jen's neck I knew that was the end, Jen wasn't going to put up a fight, she wanted this. I only took a glimpse at her dead body to know that she had got her wish. She was now with Lucas.

More commotion kept happening after that. Vampires were running around wild testing Jen's theory on human blood being poison and going up to the humans that were part of the cause and trying to drink their blood. They would be dead the minute their fangs penetrated through flesh, and my ears could pick up the sound of a woman asking where Jen was, it was clearly her sister who wanted to know.

I was just hearing all of this happen, because once the men let go of me I ran to where Trent was, and now I just couldn't take my eyes off of the burning fire. The second part of killing a royal was done. The man with the armor had lit the fire with no one looking. Trent was dead.

I couldn't see his body through the heavy smoke, even with my vampire sight all my senses were working on overdrive trying to handle everything at the same time, but the same thought kept coming to me.

Eventually I was going to need blood and die, so why not go now with someone I loved? Once the thought became an idea, I didn't over think it and ran into the flames. I found Trent's body and tackled him in a huge hug leaning my head up against his chest. When the pole touched part of my skin all I felt was pain, but I never screamed, I held on tight till I didn't feel at all.

THERE IS GOING TO BE AN EPILOGUE!! (I'm going to try and post sometime tomorrow)

Some of you you (most of you) are probably extremely pissed at me right now, but I will have everyone know that I have had the prince dying planned from chapter 3. I had no idea how I would do it, but I knew it needed to happen. The main plot of this story was taking down the vampire prince, to make things better for the humans. So he needed to die. I wasn't going to be like "Then she kissed him and everything was better as bad vampires continued to kill the innocent and destroy properties." No! I was not going to do that.

Some interesting things you might not have known is Jen wasn't originally going to be evil, until I started writing her character and she somehow seemed a little messed up in the head...weird how things like that happen.

I don't know if people actually read all of that, but thanks for reading!! And if you are all about happy endings (like I am) although it might not feel that way, I couldn't just end the story here! So please continue onto the epilogue <3
