The Search 2/3
You let out a long yawn as you walked beside Robbie towards school. One more day then you're able to go home to see your mom and dad.
Robbie: Are you sure your parents don't mind me crashing over at your place?
Y/N: Nah. They love you, dude.
It was true. Your dad, though he gave off the impression of being the scariest man alive, was actually a very loving guy. Your mom was also a very sweet and caring woman. You still recall knocking Eli straight after he indirectly called your mom a MILF before he actually knew it was your mom.
You finally reached the classroom but you immediately noticed the tensed atmosphere. You and Robbie saw what was causing it, Felicia and Doreen sitting next to each other. You couldn't explain it but it was like there was some kind of dark aura surrounding Felicia that was threatening to attack Doreen at a moment's notice.
Doreen, on the other hand, had a smug smirk on her face as she rested her head on her hand. It was almost like she was daring Felicia to say something. To do something. Everyone in the room was uneasy about what was going on. It was so eerily quiet that you could actually heard the clock tick.
Robbie: What the hell?
Y/N: I..I don't know.
Was this about what happened last night? Did Kate really tell Felicia about what she saw?
Laura: What the hell did you do?
You and Robbie turned to your left and saw the girl standing there with a scowl.
Y/N: Believe it or not, I didn't do anything. Though, I think I'm still somehow responsible for what's going on.
Robbie: How long has it been like this?
Laura: Since they got here 15 minutes ago.
The door opened and Widow walked in. She stopped and looked at the two girls before she flipped a bitch and left the room. Even the teacher was scared!
Molly: Y/N?
The three if you turned around and found Molly standing there with a bag in hand. She held it out to you and you took it.
Molly: Mom wanted me to give you some left overs for lunch.
She looked into the room and spotted Felicia. To everyone's shock and surpise, Molly smiled and skipped over to her.
Molly: Hey, Felicia.
Everyone watched as the angry girl looked at the Freshman with a sharp glare in her eye. Everyone in the room suddenly felt themselves holding their breath as those few seconds passed.
Felicia: Molly!
Everyone: WHAT?!
Suddenly, Felicia was back to being her cheery self as she greeted the younger girl. Everyone let out a collected sigh as Felicia and Molly hugged each other.
Robbie: Good grief. I can't remember the last time I was that tense.
Y/N: Y-Yeah. Me neither.
Laura punched your arm, stabbing you a bit with her claws, before she walked over to her seat.
Y/N: That was rough.
------------
Widow: Alright, that concludes our history lesson for today.
You sat at your desk as Widow taught her lessons. Of course, you were only half listening. You felt bad that you wanted some one to attack.
You ended up looking over to Felicia on your right out of the corner of your eye. She seemed to have calmed down. At least, to the point where you didn't feel like your head was gonna get bitten off.
Suddenly, Felicia looked over at you. Your eyes snapped forward as she stared at you. She just sighed and returned her attention to the front of the class. Around the room, your friends felt the surge of fear flush over you.
Robbie: Hang in there.
Sam: Stay strong.
Miles: I believe in you.
Danny: Strength is one of your greatest traits.
Quentin: G-Good luck.
Gwendolyn: Psst.
You looked over to Gwendolyn and reached for your notebook, but she stopped you.
Gwendolyn: I don't need notes. Wanna skate after school?
You looked over at Felicia again but still nodded to Gwendolyn's request.
Gwendolyn: Cool. Meet me outside of the dorms.
You gave a thumbs up and turned your attention to the window. Your mind began to drift to the last few weeks. Things have changed in more ways than once. Of course there was those powers and that fight, but that was just the start. You felt closer to Robbie, Laura, and Riri than ever.
Besides that, you couldn't help but feel like everyone else had somewhat dissapeared in the background. Your conversations with Viv went silent. You haven't watched Tandy or Nadia at their practice in weeks. Hell, you haven't even had a decent conversation with anyone outside of the Strikers.
You couldn't help but feel like you had pushed everything else in the background in the recent weeks. You also couldn't help but feel that you didn't have enough time to regain those bonds you once had.
Widow: Y/N!
You yelped as you turned back towards the class. Everyone was looking at you but you were just flat out confused.
Y/N: Uh....616?
Widow: What?
Y/N: I mean...yes.
Widow threw a notebook at you and you let it hit you.
Widow: Did you space out through all of that?
Y/N: Yes.
Widow sighed and pointed at the board. On it was "Class Trip".
Y/N: Oh.
Widow: Your name was picked.
Y/N: Oh.
You looked over to Danny and Eli who were staring right at you. You looked around the room for a moment before you awkwardly smiled.
Y/N: So, I get to pick?
Widow: Yes. That's how this works.
Y/N: R-Right. Uh....yeah. I have it written down somewhere so, uh, can I just give it to you at lunch?
Widow just nodded before she went back to teaching. You let out a sigh and tried to think about where to take your class. Choices, choices.
And just like that, the bell for lunch rang.
Y/N: Seriously?
Felicia grabbed her stuff and quickly left the room with Doreen following. You weren't the only one to notice this. You stood up to try and follow, but Robbie was already in front of you with his hand on tour chest.
Robbie: Don't. Whatever is going on needs to be settled between the two of them. We have other things to worry about.
Riri: Yeah. Like that signal. Are we gonna do something about that or...
Y/N: I'm still thinking about it. You said it was Upstate New York. I looked at the place this morning. It's about three miles from a campground.
Kamala: Did you say campground?
The three of you jumped from her sudden appearance but you kept your composure.
Y/N: Y-Yeah! Uh, we were just talking about....
Robbie: Camping!
Y/N: Yeah! That.
Riri: We found this place upstate.
Widow: You want to go camping? I can't say I've heard of someone picking that as a class trip.
Danny: Camping could be a good change of pace. Getting in touch with nature is a good way to clear one's mind.
Kitty: Oh! It's been so long since I've been camping!
Quentin: I-I never been.
You looked over to Riri and Robbie and smirked.
Y/N: Well, then. Guess we're going camping.
--------------
Felicia walked along the wall of the school before she came to a stop. She crossed her arms and groaned.
Felicia: Stop hiding. I know you're there.
Doreen leaped down from a nearby tree and smiled.
Doreen: Looks like you found me. Heh.
Doreen leaned against the tree while Felicia glared at her.
Felicia: What do you want, Doreen?
Doreen: Nothing. You just seemed, angry with me during class all day. I guess I was just wondering, why?
The two girls stood there in silence as the wind gently blew. Finally, Felicia uncrowded her arms.
Felicia: Fine. I'll be blunt. What's going on with you and Y/N?
And so, the first shoe dropped. Doreen felt sick to her stomach just thinking about what she did. What she was about to do. Still, she didn't let her smile drop.
Doreen: What do you mean?
She hated playing these games. She hated betraying the group. She hated everything Moon was having her do. She loved you and she loved Felicia. She didn't want to hurt either of you. But this was for you to be happy.
Felicia on the other hand was fed up. She had been playing this game unknowingly for too long. She cared for you greatly. She recalled everything you had ever done for her. Even back when you both first met. You had helped her when her father was arrested. You had defended her through everything.
Y/N: I'll always have your back.
Still, she couldn't be fully mad at Doreen or you. If you really were together, then that was just the reality she had to accept. She wanted to tell herself that she was happy as long as you were happy. She didn't want to be mad at her friends.
Felicia: You know damn well what I mean.
But she couldn't help it. For the past few days, something has been off. The world felt, wrong. Like she was trapped in a shell that she never knew existed. She didn't know what was going on, but she was done.
Doreen: Oh. That.
That twisting feeling in her gut returned. It was getting harder to keep her smile.
Doreen: I guess Kate told you about us. Well, it's true. Me and Y/N are, intimate.
It felt like someone had just drove a knife into Felicia's heart. And it felt like someone stabbed Doreen's gut. Still, she had to keep this mask on. She kept telling herself that it was for the good of everyone, but she found herself questioning that statement.
Felicia looked down at her feet as she felt the tears form in her eyes. Her hands felt tight and she couldn't help but feel angry.
Before anything could happen, another person joined the conversation.
Viv: Doreen, may I have a have a word?
Doreen looked at the smaller girl and saw the look in her eye.
Doreen: Of course. We're done here, anyway.
Doreen turned away and followed Viv back towards the courtyard. Doreen spared one last glance at Felicia before they left. Felicia slowly wiped her eyes as she silently cried. She needed to be alone right now.
As for Doreen and Viv, the two girls found themselves in a secluded part of the courtyard. Viv stopped and turned around to the taller girl with a dangerous glare in her eye. Doreen watched her form break and change into the familar pink. Likewise, Doreen was now with her tail and ears.
Viv: Explain.
Doreen looked off to the side as Tippy Joe and Monkey Joe appeared from her tail.
Doreen: I don't know what you mean. Fid something happen?
Viv: You know what I'm talking about, Doreen. Why are you interfering?
Doreen knew she was caught. She looked at her partner and sighed.
Doreen: I'm sorry. I can't tell you, though.
Viv glared at the girl.
Viv: Doreen...
Doreen: I know! I know. Messing around like this is breaking the pact. Believe me, I don't want to do this. I seriously don't. But I have to.
Viv: Why? I do not understand. When we all gathered, we agreed to leave things as they were. The vow was to do what we could to keep everyone unaware of what happened.
Doreen: I know, Viv. I wish I could. I...I died. You died. Everyone died! I wish I could forget that. I wish I could live like the rest of them.
Doreen held herself as Viv's expression turned soft.
Viv: I understand. However, you cannot break the vow like this.
Doreen: I know. But do you know how much it hurts to see them like this? How is this saving them? We're only making them suffer the longer they're like this. What about the bonds we had? The love we felt? Don't you miss that?
Viv: I do. I miss it very much.
The two girls stood there for a moment before Doreen felt her fists tighten.
Doreen: No more.
Viv looked at Doreen.
Doreen: I'm not playing this game anymore! I can't! I can't keep hurting everyone!
Viv: Doreen...
Doreen: No! I'm not playing by Marc's rules. I'm not following the pact. I'm done. I'm going to help them. I can't see them suffer like this anymore.
Doreen started to walk away but Viv flew in front of her.
Viv: Doreen.
Doreen: What?
Viv: Allow me to assist you.
Doreen's eyes grew wide as she looked at the android.
Doreen: W-What?
Viv: I don't desire to see my friends suffer anymore. I know that Moon Knight and Venom are aware of their memories returning but that have yet to report to the others. Only the four of us know.
Doreen: You mean...
Viv: They picked camping as the class trip. The location they had selected is three miles from Ground One.
Doreen: How do they know about that?
Viv looked to the side and a yellow hologram appeared. A red dot appeared on the map of the area where Ground One was located.
Viv: I have received an emergency signal from this location. I have reason to believe that someone is calling them there.
Doreen: Calling them, or us?
The two girls looked at each other with uncertainty. This just smelled like a trap in every possible way. The question was, who was responsible for the message? Who knew about Ground One?
--------------
Y/N: I'm home~!
You swung the front door open with a smile on your face, only to have the air knocked out of you as you were sent flying backwards off the front steps of your house.
It was now Saturday and the start of visiting week. That meant you were able to go home for a week before the class trip. Robbie and you had packed the night before and left early in the morning in order to make it for breakfast.
Instead you got a full force punch to the gut, courtesy of your mother.
Elise: Y/N?!
Robbie watched as she rushed out towards you and helped you sit up. You coughed a bit as she checked you over.
Elise: I'm so sorry! I completely forgot you were coming today and everyone was home and your grandpa and uncles use the back door and I thought you were a burglar and I'm so sorry!
Robbie: Yo.
Elise dropped you and smiled at the sight of Robbie.
Elise: Roberto! Aw, mijo! It's so good to see you again.
She stood up and walked over to him as you got to your feet. Your mom looked Robbie over with a wide smile as you brushed the dirt off your body.
Victor: Are those the boys? I recognize that engine from anywhere.
Your dad emerged from the house and smiled at the sight of you and Robbie. You, however, glared at him.
Y/N: Did you just sit back and let your wife knock me across the yard?
Victor: It's one of the only joys I have in my life.
You smiled as he brought you in for a hug. Your father was a beast of a man. A whopping 6.7" with the build of a professional wrestler. You'd be amazed to find that he was actually an elementary school teacher.
Your mom was shorter than the three of you present at a sweet 5.5" and looked much more youthful than your father. While she was now in her early 40's, she looked like she was still in her 20's.
Robbie: Hey, Vic.
Victor: Hello, Robbie.
Elise: Have the two of you eaten yet? I just finished making breakfast. Your father was actually about to wake up your sister.
Y/N: She's 15. Why are you still waking her up?
Victor: She gets a bit crazy when she doesn't get her 9 hours.
Robbie: I remember back when I got 9 hours of sleep.
You and Robbie entered the house, your mom giving you a kiss on the cheek and then one to Robbie, before you all headed to the dinning room. You tossed your bags by the door and followed your mother while Victor headed upstairs.
Y/N: So, is grandpa stopping by this week?
Elise: He stops by every week. He'll be here tomorrow, though.
Y/N: Cool. What about Uncle....
A loud crashing sound echoed from upstairs before a door slammed. The three of you watched as Victor slowly entered the room and took his seat at the head of the table. He picked up the newspaper and began to read it.
Victor: Molly's awake.
Robbie: The hell happened up there?
Before long, Molly came marching down the stairs in her pajamas, hair a mess, and a scowl. She walked over to her chair and sat down before Elise placed a mug in front of her adopted daughter.
Elise: Good morning, sweetie.
Molly grumbled a good morning before she noticed you and Robbie were there.
Molly: Eh, what are you two doing here?
Robbie/Y/N: Visiting Week.
Molly: Oh.
She looked at her mug before she realized what she was wearing.
Molly: Eep!
She shot up from her seat and bolted back upstairs with a red face.
Y/N: Ah. It's good to be home.
Victor: Hm. Oh. Dear?
Elise: Yes, love?
Victor: She was dreaming about the space cadet again.
Elise: I see. I guess we have to kill him now.
You and Robbie said a silent prayer for Sam as you both sipped on your coffee.
----------
Molly: You're going down, moron!
Y/N: Yeah right, you brat!
You and Molly mashes the buttons on the controllers of your Playbox as you played Street Kombat. Robbie sat on the couch and watched the two of you play as he talked to Victor about school. It was odd how things seemed so normal here. Almost like this was the only thing that stayed the same despite everything.
But you and Robbie knew better.
Elise: So, any girls you boys wanna talk about?
You and Robbie froze up and Molly took advantage of the situation to beat your character.
Molly: Fatality!
Victor: Did that strike a nerve?
You and Robbie looked at each other before you looked at your parents.
Y/N: Me and Robbie are lovers.
Robbie threw the book he was reading at you as you laughed at your parent's reaction. Molly even burst out in laughter at your sad attempt of humor.
Victor: I see that school hasn't stopped you from being a trickster.
Molly: He's just beating around the bush. I know that he likes Felicia~
You pushed your sister as Robbie started to laugh.
Y/N: I do not!
Molly: Then who? Tandy? Nadia? Viv? Doreen?
Elise: Oh my. That's a lot of names.
Victor: Oh God. Did I raise a two timer?
Molly: Technically it would be five timer.
Y/N: You're not helping! What about Robbie and Kate?!
Elise: Kate?
Robbie: Don't turn this on me!
Victor just sighed as he punched the bridge of his nose.
Victor: How is it that the two boys I raised turned out to be such....nerds?!
----------
You yawned as Robbie and Molly contiued their game of Battleship.
Robbie: A3.
Molly: Crap.
Robbie: Nice.
You laid on the couch when you felt your phone vibrate. You pulled it out and looked at it to see you had a message from Nadia.
Y/N: Hm?
Victor: Is it one of your not girlfriends?
You looked over at your father who had a mug of tea. He was dressed for sleep since it was now 8:30 PM.
Y/N: Nadia. She wants to meet up tomorrow.
Robbie: I'm free.
Molly: Me to.
Y/N: Cool. I'll let her know.
Victor ruffled your hair and headed up the stairs.
Victor: Don't stay up too late. Your grandpa will be here at 7.
You gave a two finger salute and fell back down on the couch.
-------
You ate breakfast with your family when the back door swung open.
Stan: Good morning Creeds! And the one Reyes.
Molly: Grandpa!
Your grandpa entered the room and you got up to hug him. He had gotten short over the years but he always had his smile.
Y/N: Hey, Grandpa Stan.
Stan: Hello, my boy. How have you been?
Y/N: Good. Sorry for not calling as much the last few weeks. Things got a bit hectic.
Stan: No worries. Let's enjoy this lovely breakfast your mother made.
You smiled and sat down with Grandpa Stan sitting next to Robbie. They exchanged their greetings before Grandpa Stan got himself a plate of food.
You had agreed to meet Nadia over at her place later on in the day, around 12-ish, so you were going to spend the morning with your grandpa. He was kinda your idol after all.
Stan: So, your sister says you've been quite the ladies man.
Y/N: Molly!
