The Beginning 1/3
New York City. Need I say anything else? The city where dreams come true and it costs an arm and a leg to own an apartment. Broadway, Central Park, Times Square. And who could forget the lovely Lady Liberty holding up that beautiful torch?
This was the home of millions, and one of them was a boy named Y/N Creed. Said boy was a student at Vision Academy. Considered as the best school in terms of both academic and creativity, Vision Academy only welcomes the brightest minds to attend this advanced school. Rather they were there for their skills in science, math, music, art, or even theater, Vision Academy had it all.
But alas, it is night now. Everyone in the school was now asleep soundly in their rooms. Except for one boy.
???: I see. Then you shall die.
You moved faster than you had ever moved in your life. You were too slow. The gauntlet activated and the Stones power was finally revealed. For the second time in your life, you saw their power. The power to both create, and destory. Thanos smirked as the glove released a powerful surge of energy.
Then everything went black.
Your eyes shot open as you suddenly sat up from your bed. Your breathing was ragged and your entire body was covered in sweat. While you ditched your shirt sometime ago, the blanket hung to your bare body as if it was acting as a cover.
Your H/C hair fell over your eyes and stuck to your skin while your E/C eyes rapidly blinked as you tried to gather your surroundings. You looked around the room you were currently in and sighed. So it was just a dream after all.
You lifted a hand to your head and looked over to the other bed in the room. Robbie Reyes, your best friend and roommate, was still asleep with his back to you. You silently cursed at yourself as you slowly got out of bed.
You dragged yourself to the bathroom you and Robbie shared and closed the door before turning on the light. You ran the cold water for a moment before washing your face. You turned the water off again and rested your hands on the sink.
You were in your third year of highschool, Junior, and you loved it here. The only issue seemed to be these recurring nightmares that came from nowhere. You couldn't really remember much from them but you knew they were bad enough to wake you up.
As custom for Vision Academy, only those who are 2nd years and up can stay in the dorms. When you became a sophomore, Robbie had convinced you to room with him so that he wouldn't be stuck with Samuel Alexander. Your, <sigh>, sister's boyfriend. He was your age while Molly Creed, your adopted sister, was a first year. While you didn't particularly approved of this relationship, he did treat her well and he seemed to genuinely care for her.
Ew.
You rubbed your eyes and turned off the light before leaving the bathroom. To your surprise, Robbie was now laying on his back with his eyes open. You must've waken him up by accident.
Robbie: You're awake.
You walked to your bed and sat on it.
Y/N: Yeah. Sorry if I woke you up.
Robbie just waved it off. He had trouble sleeping to, sometimes. His own nightmares filled his head some nights. Only, his were too real.
Robbie: You alright?
You nodded in the dark before laying down and pulling your blankets back over you. Robbie watched you from the side of his eye while you laid on your back. The two of you stared at the roof of your shared dorm room before you sighed.
Y/N: The weekend is over.
Robbie: Yep. Back at it again.
Y/N: This sucks.
Robbie: You're telling me.
The two of you stared at the roof for a moment before you both groaned. Looks like you weren't going back to bed tonight.
This was a normal occurrence for you by this point. One that you've gotten used to. Of course, there wasn't much to complain about. You had your friends and family by your side, you had the best education in America, and you were happy.
Now if only these damn nightmares could stop.
You stared at the glow in the dark stars that you and Robbie had put up out of boredom and wondered why you were having these dreams. Maybe your dad was right. Maybe you've been reading too many comic books and Manga.
Or maybe, just maybe, it was something else entirely.
Monster:
Lost Memories
-----------------------------------
You pulled on your F/C shirt before you looked over to Robbie. The dark haired boy was looking at his phone, checking his messages, and was already dressed for school. The upside to having a roommate was that you were never late. Or, maybe it was the other way around. Robbie wasn't exactly the best student in Vision Academy and you were pretty sure most staff members saw you as his babysitter. Making sure he stayed in line.
You took a slight glance at his phone screen and saw that he was texting someone with the name "Birdy". Oh. It must be Kate Bishop. His "friend" from class.
Vision Academy, in order to better focus on the academic side of things, held morning classes where they taught academics while the afternoon classes were for the other classes. Also to help with this, the school had several classrooms. Your class, which had the least amount of students, stayed in one room all morning and attended classes until lunch. After that, you were sent to other rooms for the other lessons.
Your particular class was a bit special. It was known as the "Program" since every student specialized in every subject. Music, dance, art, programing, math, science, theater, everything. Robbie in particular was an amazing mechanic. This was probably why he hasn't been kicked out yet.
You were also kind of special in the already special class. You were kind of a wild card since you could do anything. You had passed every test with flying colors so you were able to actually pick which subject you wanted to study in. You decided to follow in your grandfather's steps and go into writing.
So far, things were going great!
Robbie: You ready to go?
You finished pulling on your jacket before nodding. You both grabbed your bags and headed out to start your day.
The dorms were split in half for the boys side and the girls side. The boys were on the left while the girls were on the right. Because the dorm itself was kinda small, only having around 60 rooms in total, the school had put personal bathrooms in each of the rooms. It included a sink, a toilet, and a shower. Really neat.
Unlike your other friends, you and Robbie were on the third floor while the others in your class were all on the second. For whatever reason, you and Robbie had been put up there with the fourth years. Luckily, none of them felt the need to really mess with you.
You and Robbie walked and talked about nothing in particular. It was a nice day out and the cool autumn air felt nice against your skin. The smell of fall was also in the air, but the school was still in the city so you did your best to try and ignore the city sounds.
Y/N: So, you and Kate were talking this morning?
Robbie raised a brow before he remembered his morning text.
Robbie: Oh, yeah. She was just thanking me for lending her my English notes.
Y/N: Cool. Hey, you should invite her to tag along the next time we hang out in the city.
Robbie gave it some thought. Once a month, usually on the weekend, the school allowed students to head into the city for whatever reason. Of course you could leave campus any time but only for a few blocks. Contract reasons and whatnot. During the breaks, it was pretty much anything goes. Normally people would find this annoying, but you couldn't really complain. The campus had its own little village across the way from the dorms.
It was like a small town almost. It had a Cafe, a convenience store, a supply store, the auditorium, and the library. It was actually pretty neat since it gave everyone a place to hang out when you weren't in class.
Robbie: Maybe.
Speaking of class, you were now in your classroom where you put your bag down on the ground before sliding into your seat. The room was empty besides you and Robbie, you must have left earlier than usual, but you didn't mind. It won't take long for the others to show up.
Miles: What's up?
You turned to see your first classmates enter the room. Miles Morales and Sam. Miles was an art student who specialized in street art while Sam was a writer like you. Like everyone else in your class, you got along with them perfectly.
You raised a hand as a greeting as Miles and Sam dropped their bags by their seats and walked over to you.
Sam: Dude, did you read the latest issue of Star Guardian?
Like you, Sam was a bit of a geek. One of the reasons you got along so well was due to your mutual love for video games, comic books, Manga, and anime. All things your uncle Eddie Brock aka Venom got you into. Why was his name Venom? You didn't know. Your parents refused to tell you.
Y/N: No, not yet. Was it good?
Sam: Was it good? Uh, hell yes it was.
Miles: He wouldn't shut up the entire time he read it. Every few seconds he was like, "oh my god" and "no way". I wanted to smack him.
Sam: You did.
Miles: That I did.
The two of them were friends from way back in middle school. Them, and their other friend that completed the trio.
Kamala: Did you read Star Guardian?!
Kamala Khan. Fanfic writer, fellow geek, and a leader by heart. Always positive, always smiling, always looking to inspire. You actually laughed when you learned about the three of them being childhood friends. An African Republican, a Mexican, and a Muslim. Sounded like a start of a bad joke.
Sam: We were just talking about it.
Y/N: I haven't read it yet.
Kamala: It's soo good!
You could see Robbie roll his eyes. While you talked to the three friends, a few more students walkes in. The blonde haired one was Tandy Bowen and the short haired one with the acorn pin on her backpack was Doreen Allen Greene. While Tandy mostly liked to be left alone and be the one to approach others, Doreen was extremely outgoing and always welcomed conversation. Especially if it had to do with some crazy conspiracy.
Following them were Vivian "Viv" Vision and Nadia Pym. Two people who just blended together perfectly. Viv was probably the shortest person in class and always seemed to have such a dreamlike stare. The way she talked and knew every answer really made her seem more like a robot than an actual person. Nadia seemed to always be locked in her lab working on something or with her father, Dr. Henry Pym. She was a sweet girl and always made good conversation.
Next came Kate, Robbie's friend, and her roommate, Felicia Hardy. Felicia sat next to you so you were always partnered up with each other on projects. She was pretty nice, though she did like to tease the hell out of you. Her and Kate became BFFs pretty early on in highschool thanks to their similar interests. Her nickname was even "Party Hardy".
The next to enter the room was Danny Reid and his somewhat girlfriend Cindy Moon. Now you said somewhat because no one really knew if they were dating and the two would always find some way to dodge the question. Beside Robbie, Danny was your closest friend. He always had such a calm and laid back attitude while Cindy seemed to worry about weird things. Maybe they should be dating.
Danny: Yo.
Y/N: Hey.
Danny said something to Cindy and walked over to you and the others. Sam and Kamala had fallen into their own conversation while Miles spotted Gwen Stacy and Gwendolyn Poole enter the room. He went over to greet the two Gwens while Danny sat in the seat infront of you.
Danny: Hey, I got a question.
Y/N: I probably have an answer.
Danny: Great. Listen, I need some advice.
Y/N: Tell Cindy that you want to hop in her moon.
Danny gave you an unamused face while you grinned like an idiot. He just shook his head and leaned closer.
Danny: It does have something to do with Cindy.
Y/N: Why am I not surpised?
Danny: I have this thing I want to give her.
Y/N: Your virginity?
Danny rolled his eyes. Maybe you were spending too much time with your uncle.
Danny: No. This.
He looked around before he pulled out a necklace with a creset moon on it. Oh. Moon. Like Cindy Moon.
Y/N: Oooookay?
Danny: I just wanted to see if you had an idea of how I could do this without it being completely weird.
You narrowed your eyes at him for a moment.
Y/N: You're asking me, why? You do realize that I have, like, no game at all, right?
Danny: Yeah but, you're good with people. Maybe you have some crazy idea or something. Maybe something from one of your stories?
???: Give it up. Y/N is as hopeless as they come.
Y/N: Good morning to you to, bub.
You forced a smile as you turned to the one who butted into your conversation. Laura Hewlett. Someone you knew from your previous school, Xavier's School for the Gifted. Even back then, the two of you hardly got along. It wasn't like the two of you hated each other. You just didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things.
Another student from Xavier's was Kitty Pyde. Laura's roommate and resident popular girl. She had a smile that lit up the room and a personality that just brightened up your day. Then there was Laura who hardly smiled and always seemed like she was just plain pissed odd at the world.
Laura: Don't bother asking him for advice.
Y/N: Like you're any better.
Laura: I am.
She then turned to Danny.
Laura: Take her to the Cafe. She loves it there. Study together and then give her the necklace.
She then turned back to you.
Laura: Got something better?
Y/N:.......No. That was actually pretty good.
Laura smirked smugly and walked to her seat while Danny shrugged. He patted your shoulder and moved to his seat, which was right next to Miles', while you pulled out your phone. You had smiled at the homescreen which was a picture of your mom, Elise Creed, and your dad, Victor Creed, when they were kids in highschool. While they were both raised in the same Foster home, the two had ended up falling in love and getting married.
You always did wonder if that was borderline incest.
You opened up your messages and sent a quick good morning text to your mom, dad, and Grandpa. You then sent a text to your Uncle Marc. He was currently halfway across the globe right now, so he might see it later. Lastly, you sent your Uncle Eddie a meme you found last night. It was of a racoon holding a bowl of pasta with only "H" as the caption. No idea what it meant, but your tired ass laughed for a good minute and a half before you showed it to Robbie who also lost his shit.
You suddenly heard, saw, and felt something move on your desk. Well, someone was sitting on it now.
You looked up from your phone and found Felicia's face right in front of yours. You slowly leaned back and gathered the situation. She had her legs on either side of you while her elbows were on her lap and her head rested in her hands. She had that oh-so familiar smirk on her face. You could almost see the hearts in her eyes.
Y/N:...Why are you sitting on my desk?
Felicia: I'm flirting with you.
Y/N: I'm pretty sure this is harassment.
Felicia: Not if you like it~
And you were blushing. That had to be a new record. It seemed like everyday she was hitting on you just to get a reaction. Robbie had offered the suggestion that she was actually interested in you, but he gave up on it when he saw her doing the same thing to some of the teachers. Didn't seem to work as well as it did with you, though.
Y/N: You should really sit in a chair. Like a normal person.
Felicia: A normal person? Normal is just a construct, Y/N. You should know that, you cute little nerd~
Seriously, stop. Please.
Robbie: You're going to break the poor kid.
Felicia: You can still play with broken toys.
Robbie: And just like that, I'm once again not involved in this conversation.
Robbie turned back to the others while you silently begged for his help. Robbie, however, wasn't the one to save you.
Viv: Y/N?
You and Felicia looked over to see the small girl standing there. You didn't even hear her approach you. That was Viv for you. Actually, a lot of people in this class were silent sneakers.
Viv was a tanned skin girl with green eyes, freckles, and always had a shirt with green or yellow. Around her neck was always a necklace that her mother, Wanda Maximoff, which was a yellow diamond of somekind. All in all, Viv was a pretty cool girl, once you got past the weird parts. Like her monotone voice and weird questions.
Y/N: What's up?
Viv: I would like to ask for your assistance during lunch.
Y/N: Lunch? What do you need me for?
Viv: I was asked by Dr. Banner to take some books to the office. There are many of them and I require help.
Felicia: Y/N flexing his muscles? Sign me up.
Viv: I appreciate the offer but I only need Y/N's help. Perhaps next time.
Felicia pouted before she hopped off your desk and sat at hers.
Felicia: Alright. You can have him at lunch then.
Y/N: That's not really your choice.
Viv: Thank you for agreeing to help.
Y/N: But I...
Laura: Aw. How nice of you.
Y/N: Wait...
Robbie: Always the one to volunteer. Good man.
Kamala: Good on you.
Danny: Very cash money of you.
Sam: Molly would be proud.
Gwen: You're so sweet.
Gwendolyn: A round of applause for Y/N.
Everyone started to clap while you just sat there with a frown. Viv just stood there. Finally, you sighed.
Y/N: Fine. We'll head out at lunch.
Viv: Thank you.
She slightly bowed her head and walked back to her desk. You just groaned and laid your head on the cold desk.
Y/N: Today is going to be a long day.
You suddenly felt something very hard hit your head. You turned around to see your teacher smiling as she held the text book she just hit you with.
Widow: You have no idea.
--------
Widow: And that wraps up World War 2. Anyone care to summarize it?
Natasha Romanova aka Widow looked around the room at the bored students. The red haired teacher sighed before she tossed her tablet onto her desk.
Widow: You kids really don't care, do you?
All: No.
Widow: That's fair.
She sat down at her desk in the front of her class while her students copied down the notes on the board. You wrote down everything before you looked around the room. While you were all obviously bored, everyone did genuinely try in this class. You all respected the hell out of Widow and you knew better than to try her patience.
She was scary when she wanted to be.
Gwendolyn: Psst.
You looked up to see Gwendolyn looking over at you. The thing about the two Gwens was that they were both blondes. To avoid even more confusion, Gwendolyn had dyed her tips pink while Gwen just cut her hair shorter.
Gwendolyn was a bit of an oddball. She was always doodling in class which made sense since she was an art student. Unlike Miles, Gwendolyn drew characters and comics. She had actually asked you for a few stories a few times. Regardless, she was a pretty cool person to hang around if you wanted to skate or something.
Gwendolyn: Did you get the last set of notes?
Y/N: Yeah.
Gwendolyn: Can I see them?
You nodded and handed your notebook to her since you were already done. You rested your chin on your hand and looked out the window and watched the trees sway in the wind. The leaves seemed to be turning colors since it around that time of year finally.
Your eyes scanned the courtyard below before you spotted someone below. They had their back toward the school but seemed to be standing there for a reason.
Looking closer, you could see something on their hand. Like a glove or something of the sort. They wore a black jacket with their hood on over their head. Their fists were clenched but they didn't particularly looked angry. The person lifted their hand and looked at the device before they walked forward.
Gwendolyn: Thanks.
You snapped out of your thoughts and turned back to Gwendolyn.
Y/N: No prob...
You froze in your seat as you looked at Gwendolyn. The hell were you looking at right now? It was odd but, there looked like....no. You blinked and suddenly it, whatever it was, was gone.
Gwendolyn: You good?
You slowly grabbed your notebook and nodded.
Y/N: Yeah. Just tired. Didn't get much sleep last night.
You closed your notebook and slid it back in front of you. Robbie looked at you from the corner of his eye concerned. Not as concerned as the other two people looking at you.
Felicia thought to herself about what you had said. It was normal for people to slip up when it came to sleep. You were only human, after all. But she couldn't help but worry that you may be in a bad mood and that she made it worse by her antics.
The other person, who went unnoticed by the other two, looked at you and noticed the faint bags under your eyes. This wasn't the first night you had skipped out on sleep.
Widow: Y/N?
You looked up to the front of the class where Widow was looking at you concerned.
Widow: Do you need to go to the nurse's office?
You shook your head.
Y/N: I'm good. Just a bit tired. I'll wake up at lunch.
Widow hesitated for a moment before she mumbled an "okay" and returned to her grading. You glanced down at your notebook and wondered who the person down in the courtyard was.
---------
The bell rang for lunch which meant you and Viv had some work to do. You stood up and streached a bit while everyone else scattered to either go to the cafeteria or to join their desks to eat together.
Normally you would eat with Robbie and Tyrone Johnson, a good friend and a theater student, with Danny and Miles maybe joining you. Sometimes Sam would even pop in. Basically every guy had a kind of bond based on the fact that the girls outnumbered you all.
Viv: Are you ready to go?
You looked down at the shorter girl as she stared up to you. You gave her a friendly smile and nodded. You both headed for the door but you were stopped when a person taller than Viv suddenly blocked your way.
Doreen: Hey, guys! I need a favor.
You sighed.
Y/N: You forgot your lunch again?
Doreen nodded.
Y/N: And you want us to get you lunch on our way back?
Doreen nodded again.
Y/N: Yeah....no.
Doreen: Please?! You know I'll pay you back. Money, food, nuts, kisses, anything! I need food!
Y/N: Doreen, you need to learn how to be responsible and......did you say kisses?
Doreen nodded frantically.
Doreen: Kisses wherever you want!
That was....and interesting....offer.....hmmm.
Tandy: Get your head out of the gutter.
You felt a hand chop down on your head which made you wince slightly. You began to rub the spot your head was hit as Tandy walked over to Doreen.
Tandy was a dance student. While you knew nothing about dance, you knew that she was an amazing dancer. The way she moved a graceful and smooth. In class, however, she often struggled in math and science. Both things you had tutored her for. The two of you were pretty close which is why she was ok with doing stuff like this. Just a friendly gesture. She was, as Miles and Tyrone put it, one of the guys.
Tandy: Doreen, Y/N is right. You need to learn some responsibility. You can't keep expecting Y/N to get you lunch everytime you forget yours. He needs to eat to.
Doreen: I know that! But he can get his lunch while he also gets mine. Like I said, I'll pay him back. I think he was interested in the kisses for payment option.
The people nearby that heard that; Danny, Cindy, Riri Williams, and Nadia, all turned and looked at the four of you with confused faces. You soon found yourself blushing before you groaned.
Y/N: I'll get you your lunch. Just pay me back later.
You and Viv walked out of the room before you poked your head back in.
Y/N: Pay me with money!
And with that, you were gone.
You and Viv walked through the partially crowded halls together as students either headed downstairs to buy lunch or to other classrooms to eat with their friends.
Y/N: So, why does Dr. Banner need these books in the office?
Viv: I did not ask him. He simply asked for my help and I had accepted.
Of course she did. The thing about Viv was that you could always ask her for her help, and she would help. This was why no one asked for her help. Everyone pretty much agreed that they felt bad if they just turned to her everytime they needed help with something. Viv never liked to turn anyone down.
Well, to a point. You remember the look of fear in the underclassman's eyes when you, Miles, Robbie, and Eli all confronted him after he had asked Viv to help him "be a better kisser". Little perv got what was coming to him once Widow found out. While Viv was incredibly intelligent, she was also incredibly naive. It was a dangerous double edge blade.
Y/N: You know how many books there are?
Viv: Dr. Banner reported 15 books. This is why I asked for your help. I cannot carry 15 books on my own.
Y/N: Can you even see over 15 books?
Viv looked down and sighed.
Viv: I cannot.
Y/N: Figured. Alright. Let's get these books. Let's see here. 15 divided by 2 is 7.5 so I can just carry 8 and you can carry 7.
Viv: I cannot see over 7 books either.
Y/N: Okay then. I'll carry 9 and you can carry 6.
Viv: I can manage that much.
You smiled as the two of you walked down the hall. It was kinda funny how Viv had somehow become the mascot for your class. Everyone loved her either because she was adorable, or because she was just funny without trying to be. For you, you just liked the random conversations you had with her. You would say something stupid like, "if an AI looked like a human and acted like a human, should it have human rights" and Viv would start a debate. Always fun.
Viv: Thank you once again.
Y/N: It's nothing. I'm just glad you're comfortable enough to ask me these things.
You smiled and turned to look at Viv, but you froze again. There it was. For a split second, you saw it again.
Y/N: The hell?
Viv: Is something the matter?
You returned to reality and shook your head. Seriously, you needed sleep.
Y/N: No. I'm fine.
Viv: Okay.
---------
Dr. Banner: Thank you both for this. I would've done it myself but, I'm not a strong as I once was.
Banner laughed awkwardly after you and Viv dropped off the books. You both wished him a good day and left the office. You sighed as you pulled out your wallet.
Y/N: Well, time to go buy Doreen her lunch. Again. Seriously, that girl really needs to understand I'm not her damn errand boy!
Viv: She repays you, does she not?
Y/N: I guess. Plus, kisses.......
You suddenly got lost in your own imagination as you thought about Doreen smothering you in kisses. Maybe, maybe that wasn't such a bad way of payment after all.
Viv: Mmmm.
You snapped out of your thoughts and looked at Viv who had her arms crossed and cheeks puffed out. She was glaring at you.
Y/N: What did I do?
Viv just turned away.
Viv: Mmp!
You just sighed. Seriously, what did you even do?
You and Viv ended up in the cafeteria where you spotted the window where you ordered food. You walked up to the line with Viv behind you and waited. As you did, your mind drifted to last night. That dream you had.
???: I see. Then you shall die.
What the hell was that even about? Why did it seem so damn familiar?
Eli: There he is!
You suddenly felt two arms on your shoulder. Eli Brady was on your left. Star Football player and Athletic scholarship student. On your right was Kitty. She was actually a student for Creative Design.
Kitty: I see you're taking Doreen up on her offer.
Eli: Can't get those lips off your mind?
The two snickered while you felt your eye twitch.
Y/N: Hey, guys.
The two let go of you and smiled as you and Viv turned around to talk to them.
Y/N: I'm here to get lunch. Doreen is paying me back too but, I figured I was already here so it wouldn't hurt.
Viv: I decided to accompany him as well.
Eli: Are you getting lunch too, Viv?
Viv shook her head.
Viv: I simply enjoy conversations with Y/N.
Y/N: Thanks. I also enjoy our little chats.
Kitty leaned close to Eli who slightly crouched down to hear her.
Kitty: Those two should just date already.
Eli: Really? My money was on Felicia.
You got the food you came for and headed back to the class with everyone.
Y/N: Doreen, food.
Doreen jumped up from her seat next to Tandy and suddenly appeared in front of you. She grabbed she food and squealed.
Doreen: Thank you a million times over! I was getting so hungry! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
She hugged you and lifted you off the ground before she shook you around like you were some kind of cat.
Y/N: Put me down you behemoth!
Once Doreen was done crushing your ribs, she returned to her seat and you took yours. Seems that Danny, Sam, and Miles were busy today. Robbie sat at his desk which he set up across from yours. However, there was a third desk next to yours.
Quentin: H-Hey, Y/N.
Quentin Beck. He was a Film Student. The only Film Student in the class, actually. He did have a slight stutter but he was a sweet kid.
Y/N: Yo, Quentin! What's up, dude?
You sat down and did a quick handshake with him before you pulled out your lunch.
Quentin: N-Nothing much. Same old same o-old.
Robbie: We were just talking about that class trip. Everyone already knows where they want to go.
Y/N: Oh yeah. The class trip....
Once a year, the class randomly drew a name and that student would pick where the class would go. A resort, an amusement park, a museum....no one let Riri live that one down.
Tandy: A museum?!
You could still hear the groans.
Quentin: D-Don't tell me you forgot!
You rubbed the back of your neck with a dorky smile.
Y/N: Yeah, I did.
Robbie/Quentin: You're joking!
You picked up your sandwich and took a bite.
Y/N: Yeah. I kinda haven't had a full night's rest in a while. Plus school and crap kinda distracted me.
Quentin: W-What will you do if y-you're picked?
You just laughed.
Y/N: Yeah right. Like that'd happen.
---------
The whistle echoed through the wide space and the four people dived into the water. You silently read the math problem to yourself and wrote down the answer. School was now over for the day which meant sports, clubs, and such were going on.
You did your homework on the bleachers of the pool area while you listened the sounds of water splashing and people that weren't swimming chatting about school and life and such.
Tandy: You know, there's better places to study.
You looked up from your notebook and found Tandy standing there in her school swimsuit. A small towel was hanging from her shoulder and her hair was tucked into a swim cap.
Tandy then glared at you.
Tandy: Or are you just creeping on the girls?
Y/N: There's guys here to!
Tandy just laughed at your expense and sat next to you. She was still a bit wet from her laps but it wasn't like it was spilling onto you.
Tandy: So, is this math? I finished mine in class if you want to copy.
Y/N: Nah. I can't get better if I don't do it myself.
Tandy smiled, proud of her friend, before another person walked over.
Tandy: Hm? Oh, Nadia. You finish your laps?
You looked up at Nadia and smiled. She was another classmate of yours. As mentioned before, she was the daughter of Dr. Hank Pym. He created Pym Paticles. A very special formula that could shrink an object.
Nadia: Yeah. My time is getting better but, still not quite where I want it to be.
Y/N: You'll get there.
Nadia: Thank you, Y/N. How is your homework coming along?
You sighed. While you were incredibly smart, you still found it hard to focus sometimes.
Y/N: It's, ah, going. Yeah. It's going.
Nadia sat on the other side of you and you slid your notebook back into your backpack. You turned back to Nadia to talk to her bit you saw something else. The figure from before! The guy in the courtyard!
Tandy: Y/N?
Y/N: Uh, I'll talk to you guys later. I'm gonna go, ah, do, ah, something.
You grabbed your bag and stood up before you quickly left. Tandy and Nadia watched you run out before they looked at each other confused.
You ran out of the swimming area and ended up back outside.
Y/N: Where did they go?
You looked around before you saw the back of their boot. There! You quickly made your way over to where they turned and placed yourself against the wall. Slowly, you peeked around the corner, only to see nothing.
Y/N: Huh?
You stepped out and looked around confused. It was just the wall that surrounded the school.
Y/N: They were just here....
Suddenly, there was a low growl. You quickly turned around as something in the bushes moved.
Y/N: H-Hello?
From the darkness, came a beast. It walked on six legs and had fangs as sharp as knives. Each hand had claws that looked sharper than anything you had ever seen before. Drool dripped from it's mouth. Six eyes stared right at you.
Y/N: W-W-What the hell?!
Then, it leaped at you.
You quickly dove out of the way and turned around to look at the creature.
Y/N: The hell is this thing?!
The creature turned back towards you and growled. It readied itself and leaped at you again. Your back was against the wall, literally. No where to run. No where to dodge. It was right there.
Y/N: Is this....the end?!
The creature was so close you could hear it breathe. You closed your eyes and embraced yourself for what was going to come next. Except, nothing did.
Instead, you heard something else. It sounded like, metal.
You opened your eyes and found something truly bizarre in front of you. It was Laura, with metal claws coming out of her knuckles, stabbing the creature.
Y/N: What the hell?
Laura lifted the creature up and threw it against the science building before she jerked her arm to her left which caused the blood to spray from her claws to the grass.
Laura: Stay behind me.
Y/N: Wha...
She dashed forward and moved to stab the creature again. The creature blocked her attack with it's own claws and the two ended up in a lock.
You just stood there, frozen. What was going on? Why was this happening? What was that thing? How was Laura so strong? Why does she have claws? Claws. Claws? Wait....claws.
Laura was suddenly hit by another leg and then grabbed. The creature hissed as it lifted her up with it's claws.
Claws.
Claws.
Laura cried out as the creature began to pull her arms.
Claws.
You had claws.
You didn't know what happened. You have no idea why you moved forward. You didn't know that you clenched your fist. All you know is that Laura was now back on the ground, and the creature suddenly had two less arms.
It let out a cry as you stood there with ragged breath. Your hands were bleeding. That wasn't why you were so shaken, though. Like Laura, you had metal claws coming from your knuckles. Unlike Laura, you had three.
Y/N: No. You won't hurt her.
Laura: You're lucky you didn't die. Not that I care. As a matter of fact, go die.
Y/N: I won't let you.
Show it the flames within your heart. The ones you have forgotten!
Laura watched as your right arm was suddenly engulfed in a brilliant flame. You glared at the creature before you stepped forward.
Y/N: No one else.
The creature lunged at you but you caught it by it's throat. You then slammed it down into the ground which seemed to crack. The flame engulfed the creature which caused it to cry out in pain. You let go of it and stepped back to stand by Laura as the creature burned to nothing but ash.
Laura: That was...easier than I thought.
You looked down at you hand confused. How did you know you could do that? How did you know about any of that? Why weren't you freaking out right now?
Laura: So, you remember.
You looked up as she turned to you. Her face was now completely serious as you watched her wounds heal.
Y/N: Remember? Remember what?
Laura: That you aren't normal. If it's like mine, your memory is going crazy. Powers you never had, you suddenly remembered. Dreams that seem too real.
Y/N: Wait, you know about those?
Laura nodded. She showed you her claws before she retracted them back into her skin.
Laura: I don't remember everything, just bits and pieces. I know that we weren't alone and that we fought against something big. I also know that we lost. Who or why, I don't know.
You lost? Right. You failed to....do something. Wait a second, you weren't alone. There were others. Why is everything so damn hazy?
Y/N: What?
Laura looked around and sighed.
Laura: We should talk about this somewhere else. Come on, follow me.
