So I was wandering through the woods with some friends during Mardi Grass (@PhantomDimGrim was there but IDK if they've told this story already). We were at Thomas's Aunt's house so we didn't really know what was down this old path that went into the woods. So, being the curious children that we are, we grabbed some waters and headed out into the woods totally unprepared.

We chatted and some stuff then one of our friends (let's call her Vivi bc she doesn't want us to share her name) said that it sounded like her mom was calling her name. We said ok and started to head back to the house but she said it sounded like it was coming from the woods.

We said that was impossible and that she was probably hearing things.

A few minutes later I heard someone calling my name, then Thomas said the same and everyone else agrees that each of our names had been called on this encounter.

We probably would have ignored it and kept going if it wasn't for the Aunt's dog (who's name I forget, it might have been Oreo) ran down the path and started barking at us.

We thought this was weird because he's usually a very quiet dog. This scared Vivi for some reason so she started running back home. Thomas ran after her and the rest of us didn't want to leave out youngest party members to go back alone (the high ups would have killed us) so we chased after them.

We didn't see the Wendigo directly but a lot of people (including myself) remember seeing weird blurs and almost flashes of the monster. Needless to say, we didn't go back. I don't know what would have happened if the dog wouldn't have come to warn us. I don't want to think about it.
