Castlevania

You poked at the fire while you waited for Abbey and Veronica to wake up. The night was restless and you still felt some of your injuries. Luckily your uncle was able to give you some remedies to help with the pain. Something that you appreciated.

Speaking of your uncle, you looked over to see him standing at the edge of the hill. He was watching the castle. You looked past him to watch it yourself. It was huge, and your friends were there. In a few hours the others would be there as well. No one knew you were alive outside of this group and Dracula. You had the element of surpise. Something that would be useful.

However, you attention turned back to your uncle. You knew he wasn't related by blood, but did he know who you really where? Who this Oscar kid was? Did Dracula? Did anyone?

You looked at your hands for a moment. You then clenched them. No. You had bigger issues at hand right now. You needed to stop Stroker.

Veronica: You look tired.

You looked up to see her approaching you. She kept a blanket over her shoulders to stay warm in the morning chill. She was already naturally cold thanks to her blood, but this would be freezing to her.

She took a seat beside you in an attempt to get warmer. You wanted to help, but you didn't really know how to without making things weird.

Y/N: Did you sleep good?

Veronica shrugged. In truth, the nightmare was still fresh in her mind. Her father's murder was the beginning of the end. The next few hundred years that followed was a living nightmare. But she did escape. And now, after all that time, she was back.

Veronica: I'm mostly nervous. But, I'll be okay.

You were happy with that much. When it was all said and done, you'll be there to help. Plus, you did promise her a video.

Y/N: Well, I'll take it.

She smiled which made your cheeks get a bit warm. She was really close right now. And she had a pretty smile. This was an opportunity many boys would hope for. Yet here you were, living the dream.

Yep. This was all just....great.

Veronica: Are you nervous too?

You shrugged.

Y/N: Never stormed a castle before. And last time I faced Stroker I almost died.

Yeah, that was a reasonable concern. You shifted a bit and ended up bumping into her. You both immediately went stiff. She was really cold. And you were really warm.

Your uncle watched from over his shoulder. He then sighed.

Helsing: How does my nephew have no game? Where did I go wrong?

You stood next to Helsing and Abbey while Veronica and Dracula double checked the inventory. He had arrived shortly after Abby woke up which was nice. It put you at ease a bit more.

Veronica looked over to where the three of you were talking and sighed. Dracula looked up from the knife he was holding and followed her gaze. He then smiled.

Dracula: Did I ever tell you how I met Draculaura's mother?

Veronica looked at Dracula confused. What brought this up?

Dracula: It was a long time ago. Long before you were even a thought. Despite my good looks, I've been here for quite some time.

He then smiled, showing off his fangs.

Dracula: I was in town. Off in a stroll to visit an old friend. On my way back I came across a woman and her daughter. I had never seen them before, so I was curious. When I asked them what they were doing begging on the street, the woman told me that they had no where to go. I asked her her name and she told me it was Alina.

Alina? She never knew Draculaura's mother. She never knew what happened to her.

Dracula: I hired her to be my housekeeper. I could always use an extra hand. So, her and her daughter moved into the castle with me. Together we lived happily for a few years. But, all good things must come to an end.

He looked down at his hand and sighed.

Dracula: She was infected with a disease. Her and Laura. She.....didn't make it. And Laura wasn't going to either. So, I made a choice.

Veronica: You turned her.

Dracula nodded.

Dracula: I adopted her. She changed her name to match mine as my daughter. I will always love her as such. Nothing will ever change that.

Veronica was even more confused now. Why was he telling her this story? Why now?

She wouldn't get her answer. She had heard the same thing you all did. Her and Dracula joined you and the others on the hill. A plane.

Abbey: The guests have arrived.

Dracula: Then we ought to make our appearance as well.

He handed you the bag of equipment and turned to Helsing.

Dracula: We will enter with the guests. We will wait for the right moment to act.

Helsing: You three will wait in the chamber. Should things go sideways, you will be helping with getting everyone to safety.

You turned to him shocked. You weren't going to get your rematch? Why did you travel all the way here for?

Dracula noticed the look in your eye and placed a hand on your shoulder.

Dracula: Focus on helping your friends. Let us handle Stroker.

You just sighed. No point in arguing. Besides, you probably weren't in any shape to fight Stroker or whatever goons he has. If you could help your friends then it would be good enough for you.

Helsing: Just be aware of your surroundings. If you kids get spotted before we can act then the whole plan goes sideways. We're trusting you with a lot here. Can you handle it?

You were sure you could. But, you also didn't want anyone to be put into any danger. You looked to your friends. Abbey was already grinning while Veronica looked more nervous. You placed a hand on hers which made her look at you.

Y/N: You don't have to do this if you don't want to. You already helped us more than enough.

Veronica locked eyes with you before she looked to the others. She then looked at Dracula.

Veronica: It's okay. I can do this.

You didn't want to push her, but you were glad she would be there. Having an extra vampire around would be nice.

Helsing turned to Dracula and sighed.

Helsing: Alright. Let's change and head on down. We got a crowning to attend.
------------
Veronica: It's down this way.

You and Abbey snuck around with Veronica at the lead. She knew of several secret ways in and out of the castle. Very useful knowledge to have. The security was very tight. You could see the many limos pulling up to the castle and the guards checking the lists to see who was allowed in.

You all reached a metal grate which Abbey immediately grabbed. She used her powers to freeze the bars. You then pulled out a crowbar and smashed them to pieces. Once the hole was wide enough, you ushered them inside.

You were about to follow when you heard a familiar voice.

Frankie: I wonder what Clawdeen decided on for the dress.

You froze. You looked back to the gathered guests and immediately spotted your friends. They were here. Most of the school was. You wanted to say something, to go and greet them. But you had a mission already. You'll get your chance, but first you needed to take down Stroker.

You hurried into the tunnel, just as Lagoona looked back. She didn't even see you, but she felt like someone was there. How odd.
-------------
Helsing leaned against the stone wall and scanned the room. He had already gotten a few nasty looks from the Vampires, but he was used to it. There wasn't anything they could do that he hasn't already dealt with.

He was the most well known hunter for a reason, after all.

Dracula: You're looking well, Helsing.

Your uncle looked to Dracula as he approached. He now wore a much more formal attire. A Gothic style with red and black colours. Helsing found himself scoffing to no one in particular. He himself wore a suit that was more fitting for the occasion. Though his was very simple unlike the many flashy outfits. Most of which were of courtesy of your classmates.

Dracula joined him in watching the guests.

Dracula: When was the last time we attended an event like this, Vincent?

Helsing's lip curled.

Helsing: Don't call me that.

Dracula lifted his hand.

Dracula: Apologies. Seeing you like this simply brought back....memories.

Your uncle narrowed his eyes before returning his gaze to the crowd. However, he spotted your friends.

Helsing: I'll go inform them to head to the chamber. Keep an eye on Stroker.

Dracula nodded while Helsing made his way through the crowd. The Vampire watched him for a moment before sighing. He then returned his focus to Stroker. He was greeting some of the guests. Mostly to hear himself speak, Dracula figured.
----------
You peeked out from the dark hall to see if anyone was around. Once you had made sure the coast was clear, you stepped out and helped Abbey and Veronica into the room. The chamber was quite large, reminding you more of a common room than anything.

Veronica looked around this room for the first time in hundreds of years. 400 to be exact. You noticed the look of nostalgia. Despite all the bad, there must've been good memories after all.

Abbey: It is very dusty. Reminds me of a rundown library.

Veronica: It wasn't always like this. This place used to be one of the best well kept rooms in the castle.

Y/N: I guess Stroker isn't the sentiment type.

You walked over to a portrait to find that it was covered by a cloth. You reached up and pulled it off, revealing a painting of a man sitting in a grand chair. On his lap was a child, with purple hair. You looked back to Veronica to see that she was staring at it eith wide eyes.

Veronica: Father.

You turned back to the painting. This must have been Alphonse Von Vamp. Dracula's friend and one of the Vampire lords.

Veronica: He used to teach me how to dance here. How to read, and write. Even how to sing and draw.

Abbey: And where is he now?

Veronica looked down upset. You gestured to Abbey who simply shrugged. How was she supposed to know he had died mysteriously.

Veronica: I think....Stroker killed him.

You and Abbey both looked at her in surpise. This was news to you. Last you heard it was an unsolved mystery. But, if Stroker killed him, then how was he still walking free? Wouldn't the council have locked him up or something?

Abbey: You say this, but why?

Veronica: Because, the night he was murdered I had heard him disagreeing with Stroker over going to war.

Y/N: War?

Veronica: Stroker believed that Vampires should rule over all monsters. My father and Dracula opposed him.

Stroker wanted to go to war?

Abbey: But I thought a declaration of war could only be given by....

Veronica: The Vampire Queen.

You suddenly realized what this meant. If Stroker found the Vampire Queen and molded her from the shadows, he could use her to declare war. It would be a bloodshed.

You suddenly recalled your nightmare and felt your stomach turn. You began to shake as you recalled the smell of smoke and the echos of screams. Could that become a reality? It would flip everything upside down.

A war couldn't happen. Not under any circumstances.

Helsing: In here.

The three of you turned to the chamber doors as the were pushed open. Your uncle held the doors open while a few familiar faces entered.

Frankie: I hope we make it back before it starts.

Lagoona: Why are we even here in the first place?

Deuce: Is there an open bar or no?

Your friends all stop when they saw you, Abbey, and Veronica Von Vamp herself standing there. No one spoke so you slowly lifted a hand and awkwardly waved.

Decue: BRO!

Frankie: Y/N!

Lagoona: MATE!

Clawdeen: YOU JERK!

You were suddenly tackled by everyone much to the amusement of your uncle and Veronica. She watched as they tried to figure out how you hadn't died and how you were here. Deuce was giving you a head burn while Frankie couldn't stop hugging you. Even Clawdeen was hugging you as tight as ever.

Y/N: P-Please.....air......ribs.......

Helsing: I would suggest giving him some space. He had a rough couple of days.

Everyone began to get off of you. Deuce helped you to your feet while everyone gathered. You leaned against the table, taking some time to breathe.

Cleo: How are you here? We were told you had died.

Clawd: Yeah. Draculaura said you fell off the train.

You shook your head.

Y/N: Not exactly. Lord Stroker threw me off.

Everyone gasped. You began to explain the entire situation to them. From Stroker lying about Draculaura being the next Vampire Queen to you being thrown from the train to meeting Veronica and Honey Swamp. Even the conspiracy to start a war.

No one spoke while you revealed everything. They just listened with shocked expressions.

Y/N: We need to stop Stroker. Draculaura is in danger.

Decue: Woah. This is some Game of Bones type stuff here.

Helsing: Then you also know how dangerous this all is.

Rochelle: Of course. Stroker is a Vampire Lord. He's very powerful.

You all turned to your uncle who fixed his bow tie. It was kinda weird seeing him all done up.

Helsing: You'll all be better off staying here. Me and Dracula will bring these matters to light with the council. There will be no crowning today.

Deuce: So we get to chill up here while you guys do the heavy lifting? Deal!

You watched as he pulled out a seat and made himself comfortable. Lagoona immediately swatted his feet off the table which also sent him to the floor.

Cleo: You expect us to do nothing while Draculaura is in trouble?

Ghoulia: Mhmamhsma

Helsing: This isn't up for debate.

He then turned to you.

Helsing: Keep them safe. This shouldn't take long.

You nodded and he left the room, closing the doors on his way out. You crossed your arms and looked to Veronica. She seemed uneasy.

Frankie: Well, now that he's gone....

She immediately stomped on your foot which caused you to yelp.

Frankie: GIVE ME BACK ALL THE TEARS I CRIED, YOU JERK!

Clawdeen: Draculaura was in a huge depressive spell because of you!

Decue: I paid for a headstone. Granted it was the wrong name, but still. You owe me like a grand.

Your friends immediately began to lay into you for hiding the fact that you were alive. Veronica watched this, and smiled. Even though they were yelling at you, she saw this as something else.

Your friends really cared for you. They loved you without a doubt. She rubbed her arm. Would she ever have something like this? Was this what Monster High was about?

Abbey: They are noisy, but they're harmless.

Veronica looked at the taller Ghoul.

Abbey: And I think they would like you.

Veronica smiled as she was lead to the group.
--------------
Draculaura peeked out at the large crowd gathered. Helsing had pulled away her friends to talk to them but they still weren't back. Where were they?

Stroker: Nervous?

Draculaura flinched and looked behind her to find Stroker standing there. He was smiling with his hands behind his back. He gave off a bad vibe that she couldn't quite place.

Stroker: There's no need to be. All of these people are here for you, my dear.

He looked out at the gathered group. However, when his eyes landed on the students of Monster High, he let out a low snarl. He didn't like the idea of having other monsters here, but Draculaura had insisted. He still needed her to be happy, so he compiled.

Draculaura: What if I'm not ready to be Queen?

Stroker returned his attention to her and quickly forced a smile.

Stroker: Why, no one ever is. Being a leader comes with experience and time. You'll have plenty of both once this is over. All you'll need to do is....put on a good show.
-------------
You and Deuce leaned against the wall and talked while the others got to know Veronica and caught up with Abby. The atmosphere was calm, though uneasy. You could tell that everyone was worried. You were too. But you also trusted your uncle and Dracula. They would keep Draculaura safe and end all of this.

Right?

Deuce: So....you dating a celeb now?

You looked at him for a moment before he gestured to Veronica. You immediately felt your cheeks get a bit warm. You quickly looked away, causing Deuce to catch a flash of your earring.

Y/N: Not a chance. She's all famous and stuff. Besides, I just met her like a few days ago.

Deuce just grinned. You've definitely changed since he first met you. Yet, you were the same exact person. Funny how that can happen. So much time can past and so much can change yet it will always be the same.

Suddenly, however, Clawdeen and Clawd's ears perked up.

Clawd: Someone is coming.

You all went silent. You then looked to door which opened. Tigor hummed a song to himself as he carried in a vase of flowers. He didn't seem to notice that you were all here as he set the vase down and began to arrange the flowers. He dusted his hands and turned around, only to find you all staring at him with wide eyes.

Silence filled the room as the stand off began. He was Stroker's assistant. Surely he would tell him that you were here. If that happened, the entire plan would go south. So, you couldn't let him leave. Of course, if you were here, then that would mean that Lord Stroker's plan would go sounth. So, he couldn't just leave you here.

You both looked eyes as the clock ticked down the seconds.

Venus: GET HIM!

You all immediately lunged at him.
--------------
Helsing and Dracula sat in the front row of the aisles. Helsing looked around the room for any signs of threat while Dracula waited for his daughter to make her appearance. This was all moving too slow for his liking.

Helsing: I see the other Lords. Seems like they're just as excited as you are that the new Queen was found.

Dracula looked over. He narrowed his eyes before facing forward again.

Dracula: Perhaps. We must keep our guard up.

Music began to play as everyone took their seats. Stroker stepped out and stood at the head of the chapel. The dark room now filled with mumbles and anticipation. The crowning has begun.
------------
Tigor: Please don't kill me!

You all watched as Tigor thrashed around in his bindings. Deuce could turn him to stone, but you didn't feel like dealing with the aftermath of that. Besides, he was Stroker's assistant. If there was information, he was the one to get it from.

Frankie: We aren't going to kill you.

No one spoke, but they looked at you. You stood there for a moment before realizing.

Y/N: Come on, guys.

Clawdeen: Just making sure.

Venus: You are the nephew of Van Helsing.

You rolled your eyes.

Tigor: I swear I didn't know that he planned to kill her! I just thought he needed her to be Queen.

You all immediately turned your attention back to him.

Robecca: What? Kill who?

Tigor: Draculaura. I swear I didn't know until this morning.

Wait, Stroker was planning to kill Draculaura? But why? That would leave them without a queen and......

Your eyes grew wide.

Y/N: Assassin.

Everyone turned to you.

Y/N: If he kills Draculaura in front of everyone but makes it so that it seems like she was assassinated.....

Veronica: He could use it as a reason to go to war.

Celo: I've seen that tactic before. But, why use it now? Why go to war?

Frankie: Yeah. What good would conflict with other Vampires do?

Abbey: Not vampires.

Y/N: Monster High.

Deuce was very confused.

Deuce: Why Monster High?

Clawdeen: What would that do? Who has to go to war against a school?

Y/N: Because of what it stands for.

The unity of monsters rather than the segregation. If Stroker destroyed it, then it would help pave the way to Vampire supremacy. Wow. That was....very weird when you thought about it.

Clawd: Wait, so Draculaura is in danger? We have to do something! Helsing and Dracula don't know about this!

You nodded. Without wasting anymore time, you all hurried out of the room.

Tigor just sat there.

Tigor: I shouldn't have said anything.
-------------
Stroker: Hello. Thank you all for attending today. It is a grand occasion in which we crown our new Vampire Queen after 400 years of searching.

Hodude leaned over to Jackson and whispered to him.

Hodude: Sounds like someone is really bad at their job.

Stroker: The Vampire Heart had guided me to none other than the daughter of Dracula himself. Draculaura, who many of you will remember, was always a kind soul who wanted nothing but the betterment of all monsters. To pave the road to a brighter future for us all.

He then gestured to the darkness.

Stroker: So it is with my honor that I present to you, your new Queen.

Draculaura stepped out of the shadows which cause the room to erupt in mumbles and doubt. They remembered her as the weakest. A vampire who had not attained her powers? How could she rule?

Draculaura stood beside Stroker who present the Vampire Heart. He handed it to Draculaura who held it as it glowed. Stroker smiled as he pressed the button.

Stroker: Go on. Address your subjects.

Draculaura hesitated, but stepped forward. Her eyes scanned the room before they landed on Helsing and Dracula. However, she caught Helsing staring at something behind her. Confused, she followed his gaze only to find Stroker pressing a button, barley hidden in his pocket. At this angle, no one else would've seen it.

She then looked at the Vampire Heart itself. She rubbed her nail against it which made her eyes grow wide. Stroker noticed her silence and looked, letting out a low snarl.

He then looked up to the balcony where his hired assassin waited for the signal to shoot. His crossbow was ready with a stake. His body cloaked in shadows.

Then, Stroker nodded.

The sound of the crossbow being fired echoed through the hall. Many gasped as time seemed to slow down. The assassin was an expert. His target was her heart and that was where it shall land. And once it did, all hell would break lose.

But it would never arrive in her heart. Instead, something happened that no one had accounted for.

The stake stabbed through flesh and peirced the heart of someone. But that someone was none other than you, jumping in the way of it to save your friend.

Your body landed on the stage as chaos began to fill the room. Your uncle and Dracula rushes up to the stage while Stroker grabbed Draculaura. Your friends tried to stop him but he was much more powerful than them all combined. Dracula gave chase while Helsing stopped himself.

Draculaura: Y/N?

You laid there, blood soaking your shirt and your breath shallow. You were staring at the dark roof, unable to really feel anything. You felt so numb. You looked down at your chest to see the stake stabbed into it.

Y/N: T-That.....sucks.......

Then, everything went black.
