Y/N Creed
New York City. The City that never sleeps. The Big Apple. Mm. Apples. You could go for an apple right about now. When was the last time you ate again? Oh. Sorry. Getting sidetracked before the story even starts. Anyhow, New York City. The only home you've ever known. All your life you've been trapped in the endless maze of tall buildings. You've seen it all. Homeless, thugs, rats robbing people. Honestly the last one is a tad bit more impressive than the other two.
You groaned as your alarm pulled you from the best damn dream you've ever had. You slapped the clock from your nightstand and heard it hit the floor. You sat up immediately and winced.
Y/N: That sounds bad.
You peeked over the bed and saw the broken clock and sighed.
Y/N: Another one bites the dust.
You got out of bed and kicked the broken clock under your bed along with the others. You yawned and decided to get your day started.
You changed into your normal clothes before you left your bedroom and started to head down stairs.
Victor: Y/N?
You froze at your father's voice and looked over to see him sitting at the kitchen table with his glasses and newspaper. He was eyeing you.
Victor: Did I hear another broken clock?
Y/N: Uh, no?
Victor looked at you for a moment before he grunted. You sighed as you took your seat at the table. Suddenly, there was a plate of breakfast in front of you. You looked up and smiled.
Y/N: Thanks mom.
Elise: No problem hun. Now eat up. You don't want to be late on your first day.
Oh yeah. Today was your first day at Visions Academy.
Victor: Hopefully you stay out of fights. Xavier is still sending me emails.
You awkwardly laughed as you remembered your last school. Xavier's School for the Gifted Youth.
Y/N: That kid was picking on...
Victor: No, fighting.
You just sighed.
Y/N: Yes sir.
Your mom laughed as she placed a plate in front of Victor and kissed his cheek.
Elise: You were much worse when you his age. You always picked fights at the orphanage.
Victor: Because back then you needed to. This boy has the world in his hands and he should be better than I was.
Y/N: I mean, I beat you in monopoly every time we play so...
Victor: A better person, smart-ass. You're smart. Use that.
Elise: Your father is right, you know. Do you really want to end up like your uncle?
Y/N: Uncle Ven? What's wrong with him?
Victor: He was arrested for robbing a strip club.
You looked at his newspaper and sure enough, on the front page was a black and white photo of your favorite uncle Ven.
Y/N: Huh. Sounds like something he would do.
You ate your food when your phone vibrated. You pulled it out and saw that it was your second favorite uncle, Marc.
Marc- Have a good first day at school. Maybe blow something up to assert dominance.
You laughed at the text and sent back a quick thank you. You went back to eating before your mom joined you. Before long, the back door opened and another figure in your life stepped in.
Stan: Hello!
Y/N: Grandpa Stan!
Elise: Dad?!
Victor: Dear God.
Your grandpa walked over and ruffled your hair which you allowed. Even though you were 16 now, you still liked it when he treated you like a kid for some reason.
Elise: What are you doing here?
Stan: I came to wish my favorite grandson a good first day at his new school.
Victor: He's your only grandson.
Stan: Only because my two boys refuse to be normal.
Victor just smiled and offered him some coffee. As the two men talked, you placed your plate in the sink and smiled at your amazing life. You were grateful to have a family like this. Two loving parents and an amazing grandpa. Oh, and two crazy uncles.
Stan: I can drive you to school if you want. I'm heading that way.
You smiled.
Y/N: Yeah. Sounds cool.
-------
You looked out the car window in awe at the sight of your new school. Goodbye dorms, hello 5 minutes subway trips. You got out of your grandpa's car and smiled as your grip tightened on your backpack strap.
Stan: You have everything you need?
You turned back around and looked at your grandpa.
Y/N: Yeah. Thanks for the ride.
Stan: Anytime. I had to go into the office today anyway.
You nodded before you laughed.
Y/N: And, uh, thanks for everything else. Like, for being a cool grandpa and everything.
Stan just smiled as he waved.
Stan: Have a good day, Y/N. Excelsior!
You laughed as you waved back.
Y/N: Excelsior.
Stan smiled one last time before he drove away. You turned back toward the school and took a deep breath. You can do this. No problem. You took a step forward toward your new life.
You followed the directions on your paper before you came across the room you were looking for. You double checked and folded the paper up before you tucked it away into your pocket. Your eyes fell on the plate next to door.
'Program Room'
This was your home room. You were about to open it but you froze at a sudden voice.
???: You must be the new kid.
You turned to see a woman standing there. She had short red hair and wore a black sweater and red earrings. You looked at the door then back at her.
Y/N: Uh, yeah. I am.
The woman smiled.
???: Well, nice to meet you. My name is Natasha Romanova. You can just call me Widow.
Y/N: Widow?
Widow: It's just a nickname the kids gave me. I'm actually glad I ran into you. We'll go in and introduce you to everyone.
You nodded as she opened the door. She stepped inside and you followed. You immediately noticed the range of characters in the room as Widow set her items on her desk.
Widow: Class, we have a new student.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked up at you. You looked at Widow who motioned for you to say something.
Y/N: Uh, my name is, Y/N Creed. I'm 16 and I'll be going here from today forward.
Everyone smiled at you as you felt a odd sense of familiarity.
Widow: Well then, allow me to introduce everyone to you. First we have Riri Williams.
Riri: Hey.
Widow: Sam Alexander.
Sam: S'up.
Widow: Miles Morales.
Miles: Yo.
Widow: Gwen Stacy.
Gwen: Hi.
Widow: Kitty Pryde.
Y/N: Is that a bird?
Widow: Viv.
Viv: Salutations.
Widow: Laura Kinney.
She just looked at you.
Widow: Kamala Khan.
Kamala: Hey hey!
Widow: Gwendolyn Poole.
Gwendolyn: A new party member!
Widow: Eli Brady.
Eli: Wazup?
Widow: Cindy Moon.
Cindy: Hello.
Widow: Danny Rand.
Danny: Howdy.
Widow: Kate Bishop.
Kate: Hey dork.
Widow: Robbie Reyes.
Robbie gave a two finger salute.
Widow: Tyrone Johnson.
Tyrone: Nice to meet you.
Widow: Tandy Bowmen
Tandy: A new student?
Widow: Nadia Pym.
Nadia: Here!
Widow: Quentin Beck.
Quentin: H-Hey.
Widow: And finally, Felicia Hardy.
Felicia looked at you and winked which made you blush a bit. Widow turned to you and smiled. You just looked at everyone before you bowed your head.
Y/N: It's nice to meet you all. I hope we can get along.
Everyone smiled as they looked at you.
Widow: You can take that seat behind Felicia.
You nodded and headed that way as Widow started class. You sat down and set you bag on the floor as Felicia turned around to talk to you.
Felicia: So, Y/N Creed?
You smiled.
Y/N: So, Felicia Hardy?
Felicia smiled as she winked at you again.
Felicia: You can call me Cat~
She turned back around as you silently laughed to yourself. Seems like things were going to be good here after all.
Maybe you could, rest a bit.
You've earned it, after all.
