Siren!Aoba x Reader

Ok, so this was just a random idea I came up with since I was bored. I watched Dramatical Murders anime and now I'm watching a play through of the game, so I decided to maybe envision these guys as mythical animals or monsters (that's how my brain works). I didn't see many oneshots of the characters, so why not? I'll be accepting request from the comments on what type of mystical beast any of these males could be since I'm having a little trouble matching them to something fitting. Aoba gets to go first because...I do not know any creature from mythos that would suit him better than a siren. Don't forget to comment down below which character you want to see, and remember to pair them up with a mythical animal! Read, comment, and review, and remember I own nothing!
Beware His Voice
Spring break was generally a time for rest, adventure, and generally for college kids to make fools of themselves on foreign beaches. For you, it was a more of the second one. Currently, you and your friend (F/N) were enjoying an luxury cruise, curtesy of (F/N)'s parents, for your break. You had been reluctant to go at first, not being much of a sea person, but (F/N)'s, Who you had known since diapers, constant protest eventually broke you during winter and you couldn't exactly deny her overly kind parents when they had presented it to you as a Christmas present. So now you where enjoying peering over the rails at the gorgeous sea off the cost of Greece. Despite your previous denial, you were glad (F/N) convinced you to go. Speak of the devil, she snuck up behind you and slapped your back, nearly sending you over the railing.
"See! I told you you'd love it!" She gloated. You rolled your eyes but still gave a good hearted smile.
"Ok ok, I was wrong, are you happy?"
"Can you say that again? I wasn't recording and I don't know if I'll ever get to hear you say that again," you both laughed and continued to watch the horizon.
"So where exactly are we heading?"
"All I know is that we're going towards some spooky area where ships have magically disappeared over the years," you turned to her with a nervous look.
"What!? Why would we go there!?" (F/N) brushed it off.
"Relax (Y/N), it's just an old fisherman's story the Greeks use to attract tourist. They even say some mythical bird person causes the ships to vanish in a strange mist,"
"A bird person? You mean a siren?"
"A what?" You held back a laugh poorly.
"Did you even bother to pay attention in English class when we were studying Homer and Greek Mythology?"
"Of course I wasn't! Save that stuff for the history majors why don't they," this time you laughed loudly.
"Sirens in Greek Mythology and written by Homer were women with bird bodies who would use their voices to lead sailors to their deaths. It was said their voice were so beautiful, the sailor would be enchanted and sail straight into the shallows where they would drown," (F/N) closed her eyes and put her chin on the rail.
"Why were the Ancient Greeks so morbid?"
"Who knows? They didn't have science to explain things I guess,"
As the hours ticked by, the boat headed further and further into the unknown territory, an unsettling fog rolling in. You shivered at the unusually cold temperatures.
"Maybe we should go back inside," (F/N) smirked and elbowed your ribs with her elbow.
"Not scared of the spooky sirens, are you (Y/N)?" You glared.
"In this fog, we would need the sirens to run aground, we could run into rocks at any minute!" (F/N) laughed at your fear before an island appeared through. It wasn't very large but it was covered in thick green foliage and beaches, save for one near impracticality steep mountain at the center. It was then ringing made its way into your ears.
"What was that?" (F/N) asked. Suddenly, a male voice sung out. It was indescribable, it was like the most succulent of desserts but in sound. Every adrenaline and fear producing nerve in your body shut down and left you feeling a drastic pull towards the voice, like a fly unable to resist the pull of a bug zapper. Closer and closer you moved towards the railing, longing to see who was making that beautiful sound.
"Come," It sang.
"Come and be with me,"
Just as you began to try to hop over the railings, something caught your attention out of the corner of your eye. (F/N)'s eye were dull and she swayed back and forth, caught in a trance. She moved to jump over the railing. Even as the voice continued, a switch flipped in your body and your fear and adrenaline returned. Immediately you grabbed hold of (F/N) and yanked her from the railing. She struggled to get.
"Please! So beautiful!" Her voice was lifeless, as if she wasn't the one talking. Nearby, passengers began jumping ship, their bodies hitting the waves, never to come back up.
Then the ship lurched.
You braced yourself in order to keep from slipping off as others were thrown in the ravenous ocean to be swallowed. The song just continued, but it's gentle and welcoming sounds did nothing to stop your heart from racing as the ship headed straight for the island. The mist cleared, revealing tall, jagged rocks, reaching like claws ready to sink into their prey. You looked at (F/N), who was still unaware of the danger. If you stayed, both of you would either drown or crack your heads on the rocks. You dragged (F/N) towards the lifeboat, the voice still loud and clear around you, and unceremoniously threw her in. You hit the release button and sat on her as the boat descended to keep her from her continued attempts to get into the water. As soon as you hit the salty water, a wave conveniently pushed you far from the doomed vessel and straight towards the island shore. You desperately paddled, not wanting to get anywhere near the island since you knew for a fact that whatever had hypnotized you and the rest of the passengers was on those shores, but the current was just too powerful. In that moment, the ship ran into the rocks and the singing faded. The terrible sound of rock racking through metal rang through the air and nearly deafened you. The ship lurched to one side and toppled over like a domino. As the ocean pulled you to the beach, you saw no signs of life from the destroyed ship, and knew in that instant you and (F/N) were alone. As the boat finally made it to shallow water, you got out, decided there was no way that (F/N) could drown herself now and pulled the lifeboat on to shore. You sank to your knees, the anguish of what had just happened, the fear of being shipwrecked, and the anger at the circumstances weighed on you heavily. Then, once again something caught your eye.
Peering from the shadowy depths of the jungle only a few feet where you sat, a pair of gold eye stared at you, and raked down your form. The hairs on your neck stood on end as the creature looked at you as if you were so kind of meal. It took one step into the sunlight and you gasped.
It was a man, a man with long blue luscious locks, a well built body, hawklike talons for feet, long black claws on his fingers, and a pair of giant wings on his back.
Not to mention he was only in some type of tribal loincloth, turning you face red with embarrassment.
"Come with me," He sang, immediately informing you that it had been his voice that had caused the accident. You jumped at (F/N) as she shot up to make a beeline for the man, and proceeded to pin her down to the boat. You looked back at him, trying your best to give him a face which told him to stay away. His eyes bore into yours, sending an almost pleasurable shiver down your spine at the way he examined you. Then he smirked, revealing sharpened teeth, far from human. He lunged and you dropped your head, waiting for his weight to crash into you, but it never came. When you looked up, he was gone, a single blue feather remaining from where he stood. Pushing off (F/N), you searched both ends of the beach and the sky for the man, but he was nowhere in sight. You then heard a groan from behind you and turned to see (F/N) getting up, holding her forehead.
"What happened?" You let out a breath of relief. She seemed to be back to normal.
"The ship crashed into the rocks," (F/N)'s went wide with panic and she looked out and saw the wreckage.
"How did this happen!?"
"I can't explain it. Someone started singing and everyone on board just went dumb and started jumping into the water. I was like that for a few seconds but I somehow managed to snap out of it and get us to a lifeboat,"
"And, anyone else?" You shook your head.
"Those who jumped didn't come back up and after the crash the currents would've gotten to them," (F/N) collapsed and wrapped her arms around her legs, rocking back and forth.
"And there's something even weirder going on,"
"How could it possibly get weirder than a song driving our cruise into the rocks?"
"How about a blue haired bird man who was here to greet us when we landed on the beach?" She stared at you.
"Are you joking? You must've hit your head on the way here," you stamped your foot.
"Hey, I hauled your possessed butt to safety, so I'm most likely the only person who can say what they did or did not see!" She quieted down.
"Was it....a siren?" You thought for a moment. The man was exactly like the depiction you had read in stories and being male also threw you for a loop, and yet...
"Maybe? Look, for now, let's find some water and shelter,"
After scavenging the lifeboat and finding a few weeks worth supply of food, some bottled water and a bag to carry it in, you began your trek through the jungle to look for some sort of cave or grove to shelter yourself in.
"Why couldn't we stay on the beach and wait for another ship?" (F/N) whined.
"If a storm came, we'd be exposed, and I didn't want to be there if that dude I saw really was a siren,"
"Are you even sure you saw him,"
"Yes, I'm-Wait!" You stopped at the sight of something completely unexpected. A giant, interconnected treehouse built over a set of 3 large trees. Intricate water systems and pulleys and levers were moving all about. You and (F/N) stared dumbfounded.
"Did we just land in Swiss Family Robison?" She asked.
"At this point I'm wondering if I really did hit my head on those rocks,"
Cautiously, you made your way towards the entrance.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" You asked unsure. To your surprise, another voice answered.
"Oh visitors! How unexpected!" A woman ran down the steps and opened the gate probably used to keep out wild animals. She was a middle aged woman with ginger hair and a slight accent that you couldn't pin to her voice. Her clothes were faded, signaling she had been here for quite awhile. She smiled.
"I don't suppose you girls are here to rescue us?" You shook your heads awkwardly.
"Our ship crashed and we were the only ones who got away. Sorry," she frowned.
"You poor dears. I'm quite impress you managed to make it to the shore! One of you must have the gift!"
"The gift?" (F/N) asked. She led you both up into the tree house, which looked more and more like the tree houses built in TV shows and movies about shipwrecks.
"We'll explain everything to you dears. MARCUS! COME GREET OUR GUEST! I'm Lily by the way,"
A door leading to a small room opened up and a skinny tall man stepped out. His hair was dark and was set by a pair of hazel eyes. His accent was obviously British as he spoke with empathy to you both.
"Follow castaways I assume?"
"Yes sir. I'm (Y/N) and this is (F/N)," you answered.
"Just Marcus is fine dear. Sir makes me feel like an old man. I must say, you girls were luck to have survive Aoba's song,"
"Who's Aoba?" (F/N) asked.
"He's not...that bird man I saw is he?" Marcus perked up at the statement.
"So you have met him! Yes indeed. I'm afraid he was the one who ran your ship aground just as he did ours,"
"He's mostly a wild animal and it's his only method of protecting his territory and hunting," Lily added
"Wait wait, this Aoba guy isn't really a siren is he? He looks nothing like how Homer described them and I've never read about male sirens!" You countered. Marcus smiled.
"I see we have a fan of Greek Mythology. Well young lady, the Ancient Greeks had a tendency to get their facts wrong or crossed, hence why we have so many different telling of stories. Make no mistake, Aoba is indeed a siren and a young one at that. If Homer got anything right about them, it was their ability to sing men and women to their deaths," You felt like vomiting. If Aoba really was the man you saw on the beach, why hadn't he just finished you off then and there?
"You girls must be hungry. I'll whip up something for us to eat while Marcus can show you where you can wash up. We'll explain everything over a nice meal," both of you, still shellshocked, nodded and followed Marcus to a lake nearby while Lily cooked.
Not one of you the wiser of a pair of glowing golden eyes peering from the darkness, smiling happily.
"(Y/N),"
(Timeskip)
You and (F/N) scarfed down the food Lily had made with the native fruits and some of the lifeboat rations.
"This is great Lily!" You complimented. She smiled.
"It's nice to have someone besides this lump compliment my cooking. When you've been on an island for as long as we have, you learn to work well with fruit,"
"What's with that anyway? And what do you know about Mr Mysterious Bird Man?"
"You see, Lily and I are researchers. We specialize in the field of Greek Mythology and we search for the origin of myths. We came here on a boat to investigate the rumors of a siren when our expedition met the same unfortunate end as yours," Marcus explained.
"How long have you been stuck here?"
"A few years? The currents surrounding the island make it near impossible to escape by raft, the island is too far off from flight zones, and you saw what Aoba does to ships," you nodded.
"So Aoba is really a siren?" Lily perked up greatly.
"Oh yes! From what we were able to study from him, it appears only female siren share the appearance of the creatures written by Homer!"
"And you know this how?" (F/N) asked.
"The cave paintings. We followed Aoba to a deep cavern were we found old egg shell fragments and a tattered nest. We believe Aoba was born there. But that wasn't the most interesting part. Around the cave walls were drawings of what we assume was Aoba's mother, Aoba, and a male human!" Lily cheered.
"A human?" (Y/N) said. Marcus nodded vigorously.
"We have theorized that perhaps sirens capture humans who can resist their song and use them as nannies for their young. Though, we believe they prefer humans of the same sex as their chicks!"
"What makes you believe that? And what do you mean 'resist their song'?" (F/N) questioned.
"Well, you see, it appears that a siren's voice does not effect certain people. When our ship sank, I resisted and was able to save Lily. I assume one of you is also immune," Marcus stated.
"I think I am," You responded.
"Indeed, when the summer months came around, we had an encounter with Aoba and he said I was the wrong type. I assume he was speaking of my gender,"
"Wait, but doesn't that mean (Y/N) is the right gender!?" (F/N) nearly screamed. Lily nodded.
"Yes, I'm afraid you'll have to watch your step dear. Sirens make sure to make their nests in place only they could reach. We only found Aoba's old home because he led us there. We have reason to believe he nests in a cave at the top of the mountain," You gulped loudly at the realization. Lily began to clear the plates and placed them in the makeshift sink.
"Well it's getting dark. I'll set up hammocks for you girls,"
"Thank you for letting us stay here," you both said.
(Later)
Late into the night, I quiet humming woke you up.
"(Y/N)? Come (Y/N),"
You rose from the hammock and followed the voice, not because you were under its spell, but because you were curious as to why he was calling to you specifically. You walked down the ramp and into the clear, your eyes searching for the slight aqua color. Then, from behind you came a rush of wind. You turned and your (E/C) eyes met a pair of gold ones. You held your breath as the male, who may I remind you was nearly naked, smiled down at you. You gulped.
"Um, hi?"
"Hi,"
"Oh, you can understand me. Why did you call me?" He stepped closer.
"Woah now! Boundaries!" His wings curled around you suddenly as his face nuzzled into your neck, sending a shiver down your spine.
"Sweet and pretty," his feathers were warm and shielded you from the air. Your cheek blazed hot as you were pushed to his well muscled chest, his heartbeat soothing you. It almost made you forget that he had caused the death of many people just this afternoon. Almost. You felt him play and hold your hair. Eventually, his hands started getting a little too courageous, which is where you drew the line.
"Ok, no! None of that!" You struggled and eventually got out of his grip. He just looked at you in confusion.
"So, not human level intelligence, but higher intelligence none the less," you stated. Aoba didn't respond, and tried to go back to nuzzling. You held him by his cheeks, not once remembering how dangerous he could be.
"No! That's not what we do!" He gave a face equivalent to a kicked puppy, slowly breaking your walls.
"Oh that is so unfair! Fine..." you gently ran your fingers through his hair, causing him to purr.
"So why did you call me?" You asked as you continued your actions.
"Want (Y/N). (Y/N) pretty," Your blushed grew hotter.
"For a man eating monster, you sure know how to lay the charm on thick," he purred louder, before shooting up. You stared as he quickly unfurled his wings and shot up into the sky and disappeared into the treetops. You stood out for a while, waiting to see if he would return, but returned to your make shift bed.
Over the next few months, you began to learn more and more about Aoba from Lily and Marcus while helping around the treehouse. Apparently, he was the only siren on the island, making you wonder if he was lonely. During the months, you began noticing small gifts being left at the treehouse, from pretty shells, freshly killed animals, and strangely covered pebbles. You also strangely enough began walking up with flowers in your hair. You didn't mind much and began to stop fearing Aoba as a murderous monster. He was just a wild animal doing what nature was telling him. You even began meeting him on the beach where he would do similar actions as he had done in your first meeting.
However, had you known what came next, you may have been more inclined to stay away.
The summer months rolled in, and you were helping Lily clean out the tree house while (F/N) helped Marcus do repairs on the structure below. A scream rang through the air and you peered over the edge and saw a bear advance on them. You grabbed a nearby torch and ran at the bear as it reared up to attack them, shoving the flame into its face, burning its nose. The predator roared in pain and swung at you, knocking the torch from your hand and knocking you to the ground. (F/N) screamed.
"(Y/N)!" A terrifying screech filled the air as a blur of blue rushed the bear, dragging it away from you. Marcus helped you to your feet and pulled away as Aoba viscously clawed, bite, and scratched the bear.
"He's protecting us!" Lily stated, joining the others. Marcus shook his head.
"No, he's protecting (Y/N)!" The bear reared in pain and fear and shot back into the foliage, Aoba hissing and screeching as it fled. (F/N) sighed in relief.
"Glad that's over,"
"Right. (Y/N), you're bleeding!" Lily screamed. You looked at your forearm where 3 shallow gashes were left from where the bear had swiped at you. She pulled at your arm, making you whine a bit in pain.
"Come on dear! Let's get that-," another screech tore through the air as Aoba darted at them, his giant wings knocking Lily, Marcus, and (F/N) away from you before wrapping his arms around your waist and encasing you in his wings.
"What's he doing!?" (F/N) demanded. You reached up to his cheek to try and calm the siren. Aoba cooed softly at you, nipping at your ear, before baring his fangs at Marcus who tried to approach.
"Easy Aoba, we don't want to fight. Just let (Y/N) go," he spoke calm. Aoba hissed again.
"No take MATE!" His voice was loud and clear. Your eyes went wide and the others scrambled back.
"M-mate!?" (F/N) stuttered.
"Marcus!" You cried as Aoba's tightened.
"The picture, the man in the painting wasn't Aoba's nanny, it was his father!"
"Sirens must only reproduce with humans, that's why it's hard to find them!" Lily added.
"And they must choose humans who resist the song so their offspring can do the same!"
"That's very interesting you, now can you please help me!?" You cried. Seeing the humans advance, Aoba swept your knees up and carried you bridal style as his wings launched him into the sky, the jungle floor vanishing beneath you in an instant. You begged him to turn around and release you, but the blue haired male remained steadfast, carrying your body to the summit of the mountain before diving into a cave. Once he landed, he placed you gently inside a nest which had been recently made, littered with presents that he had brought you. Your heart beat increased as he sat behind you, wrapping his arms and wings around you and bringing you to his chest. He parted your hair to one side, exposing your neck to his lips.
"Mate, home," You were to confused to even reply. It was just happening too fast. A few months ago you were just a normal college student, and now you were being held captive by and attractive mythical beast that wanted to have children with you! Your confusion have left you so distracted that you jumped when Aoba sunk his fangs into your neck. You then past out.
The weeks passed, and you gave up hope at ever leaving. The mountain was impossible to climb and Aoba was strict about keeping you in the nest. Somehow, there was a small pool of water where you could drink and wash from and Aoba made sure you were well fed.
He was also very quick to make sure you fulfilled your duties as his mate. One night, he had this fire in his eyes, and the next minute he was mating you throughly. This went on for a few days until he suddenly stopped. It didn't take long for you to realize that the fruit of his labor was happily growing within you, due to his constant nuzzling of your stomach and the soreness  in your breast, and the morning sickness. Currently, you were in your mates arms as he groomed you and rubbed your slightly swollen abdomen. This life wasn't one you pictured, but it wasn't all bad. You had a devoted and drop dead gorgeous man at your back and call and you would be well protected for the rest of your life.
Yeah, not too bad.
Not one of my better works. I will try to improve. So remember to leave a comment down on which you want to see next!
