"It's been three hours and we still haven't seen anyone!"

I pouted, crossing my arms. We had been wondering inside the Sleeping Forest for hours now, but it felt like years had passed. I wasn't going to complain, but my feet were slowly starting to ache.

The Sleeping Forest was apparently quite known around that area, even Holy Knights were said to avoid it. It was seemingly a dangerous place, where people easily got lost and disappeared.

"Meliodas, are you sure about this? There's been no sign of anybody being here yet." Hawk said nervously, as he walked ahead.

"You're right Hawk. Are you two sure we'll find one of the Eight Deadly Sins here?" Elizabeth asked, looking at Meliodas over her shoulder, who I was walking besides.

"Probably." Meliodas said nonchalantly, with a blank look on his face. He turned to me, nudging my arm. "What do you think (Y/N), smell anything?"

I furrowed my brows, following captain's orders. I sniffed the misty air around us, hoping to catch a familiar scent, but the only thing I was able to smell was the mist, sadly. The mist was strange, shouldn't have smelled like anything at all, but it did. Maybe it was a diversion or trap. I shrugged my crossed arms. "Couldn't say."

Hawk jumped to a stop, ears flapping about, as he huffed. "You mean we came out here without any real evidence?!" He exclaimed. He looked around with discerning eyes. "I heard that there's a monster that lurks around here, watching and waiting..."

I scoffed. Don't think so.

"AaaAh!"

I jumped, startled. I looked beside me instinctively, checking to see if the Captain was alright, only to see him in front of me; groping Elizabeth's butt cheeks. I froze, and my eyebrows twitched uncontrollably. That little..! He hasn't changed at all! Hmph! Just like with Liz...

"What happened?!" Hawk exclaimed in fear.

Elizabeth squirmed, tears of fear in her eyes. I couldn't help but facepalm at her-no offense-stupidity. "I feel something grabbing me from behind!"

"Relax, it's just me." Meliodas said nonchalantly, as if his actions were normal.
Don't know if I should feel insulted or relieved that he doesn't do that to me.

"Oh, what a relief." Elizabeth said, swiping her forehead with the back of her hand in a 'phew' gesture. Huh?! Relief?!

"You're such a creep!" Hawk exclaimed in disgust.

I rushed to the Captain, slapping the back of his head harshly, smacking him into a tree. "Pervert! She's the Princess!"

"Sir Meliodas!" Elizabeth exclaimed, worriedly staring at him as he stood up, rubbing his aching head.

Meliodas narrowed his eyes at me, and I shivered. "What was that for?" He groaned in pain, rubbing the growing ball on his head.

I scoffed, crossing my arms again and turning away from him, walking ahead and grabbing Hawk by the ear. "We're going ahead!"
"Ow ow ow! You're hurting me!"

I let go of Hawk's ear and huffed, accidentally burying my fangs in my lips as I gritted my teeth. 'What was that for?' Really?! What do you think it was for?! Idiot! I walked with Hawk several meters away from Elizabeth and Meliodas, as I heard them talk about the forest and Elizabeth complain about something. My irritation stirred my inner beast, which hadn't been properly fed in a few months. My stomach growled loudly and I scowled. Really? Now?

"Come on slowpokes! Pick up the pace, would ya?" Hawk exclaimed.
"Coming!" Elizabeth replied shakingly, as she squirmed uncomfortably.

Meliodas smiled cheekily at Hawk. "Hey, hold your bacon. Nobody likes restless piggies."
I rolled my eyes at him. Haha, good joke. Nope.
"Whoah."

We halted, as suddenly instead of one Hawk, there were ten Hawks.

"What the?!" I exclaimed, eyebrows twitching. Now I'm confused.

"Why did you say piggies? There's only one-" All the Hawks yelled, but stopped inmeaditely when the real one noticed that he was not alone. "It's a herd! They're all me!"
"Oh no."
"What's going on?"

Elizabeth frowned at the Hawks, confused. "This is the monster of the forest?"

I put my hands on my hips, eyebrow arched. "Well this is great."

"I for one, find it terrifying." Meliodas said blankly.

The Hawks started running down the path towards us.

"Don't just look, help me! I'm the real one!"
"Whatever you faker!"
"Hey, zip it porky!"

I sighed. I could easily tell which Hawk was real by scent, luckily.

Meliodas looked at me. "Can you tell which one's real, (Y/N)?"

I nodded. What else could he expect of me? "Of course Captain. It's the one over there." I said, pointing to the real Hawk.

"Leave!"
"Get out of this forest!"
"You will never make it out of this forest!"

Voices echoed in the trees, as Meliodas shrugged. "Okay."

He flashed towards the fake Hawks and hit them, one by one. With a poof, they transformed into Hide-and-Seeks and jumped away from us.

"Look at that, they were just Hide-and-Seeks! I'm glad there's only one me!" Hawk squeaked triumphantly.

"After them!" Meliodas and I exclaimed in unison, realizing they were probably heading towards their leader or something.

Elizabeth trotted behind us uncomfortably, and Meliodas turned around hurriedly, handing her a pair of... panties?! "Oh yeah, you might need these." Meliodas said, giving her the white panties and running ahead.

My eyes widened and I gritted my teeth, making them screech. Did that idiot just..?!
"Come back here!" I yelled. Like hell I'd let him get away just like that! Meliodas may have been just a friend at that time, though that didn't mean I couldn't kick his butt for doing that to a girl.

"Why did you have them?!" Elizabeth exclaimed, blushing furiously as she clutched the panties to her chest.

I growled internally, struggling with my need to choke Meliodas. The damn pervert was back at it again, just with a different girl this time.

The four of us ran through the forest, following the fleeing Hide-and-Seeks. We soon reached a clearing, and were able to distinguish a sleeping girl through the mist.

"Look, over there, it's a girl!" Elizabeth exclaimed.
No need to state the obvious, honey, but okay.

"Oh no way! What would a little girl be doing here?!" Hawk squeaked, his hoofs clattered on the stones.
"Poor little girl, maybe she got lost!" Elizabeth said with a frown.

The closer we got, the clearer our surroundings became, and the bigger the girl looked. I squinted my eyes at her figure and gasped. That's...!

"Just.. a little..girl?!" Hawk yelled, as we finally came to a halt, in front of Diane's sleeping body, which was way bigger than us.
"Little..?" Elizabeth muttered in surprise.

"Lady Diane!"
"Lady Diane, wake up!"
"We accidentally let some Holy Knights trespassers come in!"

Hawks gulped. "Wow, she's big!"

I grinned, looking at Diane's cute sleeping face and smelling her scent. Oh yeah, that's definitely her.

Suddenly, Diane jolted awake, slamming her hand down on the rocky ground. She stood up, glaring down at us with her big violet eyes.
"Some Holy Knights got in, huh?" She spoke, clearly not recognizing us.

"She's huge!" Hawk whimpered.
"We're not Holy Knights, we came here to-" Elizabeth began, pausing when a breeze swept her hair sideways.

Meliodas had been grabbed by Diane in a blink, raised to her height.

I blinked and sighed. Definitely does not recognize us yet. Even though we haven't aged a day.

"Look up there!" Hawk said, as Elizabeth and him finally realized where Meliodas had gone.

"You are in trouble Holy Knight." Diane said, eyes narrowed at Captain.
Should I interfere?

"You are not going to eat him are you?!" Hawk exclaimed fearfully.
I chuckled. Maybe not. He'll be fine.
"You let go of sir Meliodas!"

Diane furrowed her brows deeper, raising Meliodas closer to her face. "Sir Meliodas?"

"Hello Diane, how have you been? It's almost been ten years." Meliodas said calmly, blinking at her.

Diane squinted her eyes at him, bringing him closer to her eyes. She grunted and glared for a moment, before her eyes widened and lit up. "Captain!"

"Captain captain captain captain captain!! I missed you so much!" Diane exclaimed, rubbing Meliodas on her cheek with glee.

I rolled my eyes at my giant friend. She'd always had a crush on Meliodas, just like me. We hated each other at first because of it, but eventually we became good friends because we both understood what it felt like to be in the friend zone with the Captain, therefore able to understand each others' sadness.

"Captain?" Elizabeth asked.
"You mean that giant girl with pig tails is one of the Eight Deadly Sins?!" Hawk exclaimed. "She's Diane, the Serpent Sin of Envy?!"

Diane heard them and looked down. As soon as she saw me her eyes lit up with joy, almost dropping the Captain.
"(Y/N)!!!"

I laughed and grinned at her. "I'm here too, Diane."

She scooped me up and let me hug her cheek, as she held my body against her cheek. "I'm so glad to see you!"
I giggled-which I didn't do often-and pat her cheek. "I'm glad to see you too Diane!"
She giggled and looked down again, spotting Hawk.
"Whoah Captain, you shouldn't have! You remembered that I love roasted pig!"

I sweatdropped and cringed. "No wait, Diane!"

Before I could say anything, Diane had already set Hawk on top of a fire to roast him. It's not that I didn't like roasted pig, I just didn't like the idea of roasted Hawk.

"Guys, do something! I can already feel my back roasting!" Hawk squeaked in panic, as his back started reddening.
"Smells good." Meliodas said blankly.
"Don't act like you don't know me!"

I laughed and shook my head. The mention of food reminded my hungry stomach of what it hadn't been given and it grumbled again. "Diane, he's not for eating. He's a friend of ours."

She arched an eyebrow at me, then at the pig. "The pig?"
I chuckled, patting her cheek. "It's a long story. Put him down, will ya?"

Embarrassed, she put Hawk aside from the fire, as he blew carefully at his red butt.
"Alright, sorry piggy." Diane said sheepishly. She looked down at Elizabeth curiously. "Who's this girl?"

Elizabeth immediately turned to Diane and bowed slightly. "A pleasure to meet you, Lady Diane. My name's Elizabeth and um... uh I've asked sir Meliodas to travel with me on this quest."

I sweatdropped, as I spotted the glint of jealousy in Diane's eyes as she spoke. I don't think it was a good idea to say that.

"You're traveling alone then?" Diane asked, giving a sweet, innocent look to Meliodas that screamed 'DANGER'.
"If you don't count (Y/N) or the talking pig, that is." Meliodas replied.

I gulped, seeing Diane's eyes take on a darker look. I should probably say something.

"Is that so?"
"Yep, we are-"

Meliodas was cut off by Diane throwing him into a rock. His body crashed with a thud on the rock and broke through it, making an indent in the shape of his body.
"You filthy womanizer!" Diane screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Sir Meliodas!"

Meliodas walked out from the hole, rubbing his head and dusting off his clothes.

Diane dropped to her knees, crying. "Uwaaah! After all this time, I'm finally back with the man I love but he's with someone else!" Diane sobbed, rubbing her tearful eyes. "You just broke my heart into a million pieces! But still, if you have an explanation I'm ready to listen."
I sweatdropped. "Diane, it's not like that buddy."
"B-but-!"
Meliodas walked towards Diane, looking up at her. He rubbed the back of his head, as he spoke, "Honestly, there's not a-"

Diane slammed her fist down, sending dust and bits of rock everywhere. She slammed her fists down repeatedly, yelling out nonsense. "Liar! You big idiot! Womanizer!"

My eyes widened and I flinched back, sweatdropping. "Geez..."
"Is he okay...?" Elizabeth asked me hesitantly.
"He'll be fine..... I think."

Diane finally joined her fists together and slammed them down. "YOU JERK I HATE YOU!!"

The ground shook with her hit and broke, sending dust and debris everywhere, aside from scaring away any bird nearby.

                           ><><><

"So in short, to stop the Holy Knights and the corruption, Elizabeth's trying to gather the Eight Deadly Sins." Meliodas finished, hands on his hips.
"See? I told you it wasn't like that Diane." I said with an awkward chuckle.

Diane sat on her knees in front of us, slouched and looking down in embarrassment. "I didn't know about that. I guess I'm always the one who jumps to conclusions, forgive me." She said, her hands on her lap. She reminded me of a kid being scolded. "Sorry for trying to eat you piggy."

Hawk frowned and huffed. "Now my stomach is full of fruits I don't even like and my back is burnt! You-ah!" He said and yelped, as Diane growled at him. "Um, hold on, if you even think of laying a hand on me, then my mom will get you!"

I sighed in annoyance. It seemed like it'd be hard for Hawk and Diane to get along.

Diane crouched down to get a better look at Elizabeth, squinting her eyes at her. "So you don't have that kind of relationship with the Captain?"
"Um.. I'm not.."

Meliodas sighed. "You know, you and I don't have that kind of relationship either."
"W-what?!" Diane exclaimed in disappointment.

I sweatdropped and sighed, patting her leg. "C'mon Diane, it's not like that's new. Just chill."
"B-but!" She looked down at me with a pout.

"Anyway, I'm just going to do what I can to help Elizabeth gather the Eight Deadly Sins. Of course, (Y/N) will do the same, right (Y/N)?" Meliodas said, winking at me. I flushed slightly, coughing softly to hide it. "Yeah, of course. I can't leave my Captain on his own, and Ban still owes me money."

"Well, if you're sure that's the case, then I'll come with you. You'll have the help of the Serpent Sin of Envy, the giant Diane!" Diane said, standing up and clenching and raising her fists.

"Thank you so much Lady Diane!" Elizabeth exclaimed, smiling at her in joy.  My heart thumped painfully again. She's too much like Liz.

"But get this straight, I'm only doing this for the Captain and (Y/N)." Diane said, glaring down at Elizabeth. It seemed like she still held something against Elizabeth. Probably just jealous of her.
"Aw, c'mon Diane, don't be like that." I said, hoping to appease her.

"Finally! We can live in peace again!"
"Since years ago she threatened to kill us if we didn't give her shelter!"

The squeaky voices of the Hide-and-Seek came from behind a rock, as the small cloaked creatures hid from her view.
I snorted. That definitely sounds like her.

"Now I get them." Hawk said, probably recalling his close to death experience.
"You can say that again buddy." I chuckled, rubbing my temples. I suddenly felt needles prickling my skin, as a crow squaked, up in the trees.
Uh... that's weird.
Silence fell between us and we looked around, trying to see through the thick mist.

"What was that?" Elizabeth asked, a certain nervous tremor in her voice.
"Weird... I thought there were barely any animals in the forest..." Diane muttered, looking up at the sky.
I subconsciously patted the pommel of my sword. My ears twitched, as I heard the distant familiar sound of thunder.

"Wait, I smell rain." Hawk sniffed the air, looking up at the sky. "Look at that! What is that?"

I followed his gaze, glancing at the dark stormy clouds. They seemed to be forming a cyclone shape, lightning gathering in the center. Those are definitely no normal clouds.

Lightning suddenly striked the three of us sins, forming bonds around our bodies. What the?!
I tried moving my fingers without using magic or much strength, but the lightning bonds shocked me. This magic is...
A second strike bonded Elizabeth and Hawk, along with the Hide-and-Seeks.
"What is this?!" Elizabeth struggled against the bonds, but couldn't move at all. "My body is paralyzed!"

I don't like this. Of course, I could break the bonds in less than a second without much effort, but we needed to know what we were up against. My head snapped towards the mist, as I heard the oncoming steps and smelt a person. Someone with a decent quantity of magical power.

Meliodas and Diane looked towards the same direction, unmoving and serious looking.

"Who are you?" Asked Meliodas, as the figure revealed itself as they came out from the veil of mist.

"We finally meet, Deadly Sins."

His voice was soft, not really a man's voice. He was young, probably very close to Elizabeth's age. His silver and blue armor reflected the light, probably had been polished before coming here. The mop of pink hair on his head reminded me of someone, I just couldn't recall who at the moment.

My eyes immediately fell to his sword, which struck a chord in my memory. That sword... This magic.... He's the one who attacked Vanya.

"That power..." Diane muttered, staring at the young man.
"Indeed; a Holy Knight no doubt." Meliodas replied, no doubt observing his opponent.

Elizabeth's eyes widened in recognition, when she looked at the man. "Gilthunder? Is that you?!"

Where have I heard that name before? I stared at the man, analyzing him. Going by his posture, he obviously thinks a lot of himself. He's not weak, but compared to us he's definitely not that strong.
I glanced at the pinkette's deep ocean blue eyes and blushed slightly. Damn, I should probably not think that, but he's got nice looks.

"Gilthunder? Why are you doing this? Tell me why!" Elizabeth cried out, body tensed. Whoever that man was, she was clearly disturbed by the thought of him attacking us.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "You know the dude?"

"Yes, since I was little girl, when he was my father's attendant. As an aid to the king and so of the Holy Knights' Grandmaster, he was always at the palace. So we sort of grew up together.." Elizabeth trailed off, as she stared at the man with a worried frown. this knight protected my father, the King.

Wait... The Grandmaster's kid?...

"The son of the Grandmaster.... Wait...!" Meliodas exclaimed, looking at me. We looked at each other quickly and gasped.
"Wait, you're Little Gil?!" We exclaimed in unison, grins on our faces.

No way! Dang he grew up fiiine!
....
I knew him as a kid... he's way younger than me...
Does that make me a pedophile?
I cringed. Throw those thoughts away (Y/N), throw them!

"You know him?" Elizabeth looked at us surprised.
"Of course, we gave him a few sword fighting lessons from time to time." Meliodas replied, a grin on his face.
"When we had time and stopped by the palace, of course." I added, recalling those days.

"Whoah, you've really grown up!" Meliodas said excitedly, not losing his smile. "Well, it has been ten years, obviously you'd have."
"Yeah, no kidding! You are taller than both of us now!" I voiced my thoughts unconsciously, luckily not spilling out the 'you're handsome now dude' part.

Gilthunder didn't reply for a second, looking down, unfazed by our words. "Instead of speaking like crazy degenerates, you should look for a way to break your bonds."

I whistled, rolling my eyes. "Dang you've gotten bolder with the years."

"So this lightning is..?" Hawk asked, knowing we'd get it.
Meliodas nodded. "Yeah. Like the one in the water system in Vanya, and like the one that attacked the village."
I shook my head. Welp, he got corrupted by age. "It was you wasn't it? How disappointing, to think I taught you that imbuing trick." I shrugged.

"But that's crazy, sir Meliodas, Lady (Y/N)! It can't be true! He'd never do such a-!" Elizabeth's protests stopped, as she noticed the murderous look in Gilthunder's cold eyes. She gasped softly and stepped back a bit. "No.."

Hmm... Elizabeth might be on to something. She's right; the Little Gil I knew would never do this. Then again, I haven't seen him in more than ten years.
I hummed in thought, as I discreetly looked around and let my instincts search the area. I picked up something strange from a tree; a crow was staring at us, hiding in its branches. Hmm....

"This won't stop me!" Diane exclaimed, as she tried pulling her arms apart and breaking the bonds. To her dismay, Meliodas stopped her.
"Diane, leave it. "
"But Captain..." Diane whined in protest, slumping.

I stared at Gilthunder with narrowed eyes, as he put his sword on Meliodas' shoulder, a little bit too close to his neck for my liking. The blade crackled with blue lightning, as he channeled his magic through it. "Did you know that the Holy Knights are looking for the Eight Deadly Sins?"

Um duh buddy, how can we not? I would've facepalmed hard if I could.

"Actually, no."

What do you mean no you fool?! I sweatdropped, sighing. Either he's an idiot-which he sorta is- or he's pretending to get info out of Gil.

"Half of us have orders to arrest you for conspirating against the kingdom. The other half wants to find you and fight you to prove their strength." Gil said, his tone sharp and low.
Well that's to be expected.

"In which half are you?" Meliodas asked him, expecting an answer but his face giving nothing away.
"In both. And I also want something else."
"Something else?" Meliodas repeated, expecting an explanation.

I didn't like where the conversation was heading. Everyone thought that we had killed Zaratras, but to hear it from Little Gil was heartbreaking.

"Yes. I want revenge for my father, Zaratas the Grandmaster. By killing you, I'll prove I'm stronger than even him." Gil's sharp tone rumbled in his throat, the words trembling ominously.

I furrowed my brows, leaning forward slightly. "Does that mean you think the Captain did it?"
"Didn't he?"

Meliodas blinked, looking away. "Honestly, I have no idea. I can't remember everything from those days. I can only remember that we were summoned to the the old castle in the outskirts of the capital. I wanted to drink something as celebration for the anniversary of the kingdom's creation."
Meliodas trailed off, as he recalled and recounted those moments before the chaos.

I remembered it well of course; we had been walking around the hallways, still in our armor suits. We were talking about what drinks we'd have when we found Zaratras' body pinned to the wall by several spears. It was absolutely brutal and horrifying to look at. We then had to split up, but we had promised to meet up afterward. Of course, we didn't end up meeting up later. I did find Meliodas though, so I was lucky. I really don't know what I'd have done if I hadn't.

"That's the last thing I can remember clearly." Meliodas said, as he stared at the ground in thought.
"I can't believe it! So it wasn't you who killed the Grandmaster!" Elizabeth exclaimed shocked at the revelation.
My eyebrows twitched and I scoffed. "Elizabeth seriously, you've been with us for a while now. Couldn't you tell?"

"That doesn't matter anymore. There's an order of treason against the kingdom of Liones, and it'll be your downfall." Gil claimed, unfazed by Meliodas' words.
I glared at him. Acquaintance or not, there was a line. "Are you deaf or what? You just said you want vengeance, and if it wasn't us then you've got some inconsistency with your wording right there pal."

"She's right! Gilthunder didn't you hear him? It wasn't them who killed your father!" Elizabeth added, supporting my words.

Gilthunder glanced back at Elizabeth, still unfazed. I was beginning to think he had learned the poker face from Meliodas and had become a master at it.
"Elizabeth. The kingdom has given orders to capture you and get you back to the capital. But that doesn't matter to me anymore, because whether you are alive or dead, it's just a grain of sand in the new path we're creating." Gilthunder ended his claim raising his hand, releasing the bonds on Elizabeth. "Get away from here, I only came for the sins."

I looked at Elizabeth. If she had ran, I would've thought worse of her, but because her next move was so pure hearted, I tried to forget that she was a crybaby.

Elizabeth furrowed her brows, before she quickly put herself in front of us, shielding us with her body. "You won't lay a hand on them!"

I smirked slightly. Really gotta hand it to her. She may be a crybaby, but she's loyal and brave.

Gilthunder stared at her, before looking down at his feet, as Hawk tried to crawl away.

"Owie, ouch! I'm paralyzed! My body won't hold on for much longer!" Hawk whimpered, as he crawled. "Ow, ow, ow!"

Gil stared at the pig before he kicked him, throwing him at least ten meters away.
Hawk gave cries of pain as he hit the ground repeatedly.

"Hawk no!" Elizabeth exclaimed, hurrying after the tiny pink guy.

Welp. At least she'll be far from the fight.

"Now no one will be able to interrupt us." Gilthunder declared, turning back to us, sword ready in hand.

I wanted to reach for my own sword, but I wouldn't break the bonds unless my captain said to. There was also the fact that I was starting to feel the hunger creep up on me stronger, my stomach making noises audible only to me. The familiar itchiness in my throat was starting, and I knew it'd only be a matter of time before it became a painful fire. This is really not the moment for this...

"You sure about that? You've never been able to defeat me before." Meliodas stated blankly.
Gilthunder stepped closer, leaning down. "Things are different now. I'm more powerful than all the Eight Deadly Sins together."

I couldn't resist snickering at his words, homding in the laughter in my throat. HA! Sorry kid, you're up in the clouds and the stars! I could defeat you with a flick of my wrist hahahaha! "Sorry, sorry, ignore me." I said, as I snorted, holding in my giggles.
Meliodas rolled his eyes slightly at me. "Maybe you are, maybe not."

"If that's what it's about, then I'll release your bonds." Gil said, standing straight.

I snorted. "Nah, we got this kid."

The three of us snapped the bonds at the same time, not needing much strength to do it. Instinctively I got closer to Meliodas, ignoring the growing pit in my stomach, and patting my sword's pommel. "You do know we could have ran away when we wanted to right?" I said smirking, a hand on my hips.

"And I could've killed you and this forest." Replied Gilthunder. Somehow it sounded really childish; a meager attempt at a comeback.
"Hmm I really doubt it." Said Meliodas, expression unchanging.
"I'll clear that doubt."
"Then I'll have to prove you wrong." Meliodas shot back with a boxy grin. "Diane, (Y/N) do not interfere, got it?"

Diane and I looked at each other, rolling our eyes. "Yeah, okaay."

"You afraid of being all defeated at the same time?" Gil asked, as he got in a fighting stanfe, sword at the ready. Meliodas in response got in front of him, foot out in the same way.
"Still not showing respect to your elders huh?"

Welp, he's toast anyways. I shrugged, as I stepped back. I sat on the ground, trying to concentrate on the fight that would go down and not on the increasingly uncomfortable sensation in my throat. If you've ever met a vampire, you probably know that they life off blood and can hardly eat anything else.  However, because I'm more than a vampire I can go for longer periods of time without drinking blood. Though that doesn't mean I don't need it; if I don't feed at least once every two or three months, my body falls ill and I can die of dehydration.
It wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't so stubborn about it; I usually starved myself because I hated drinking blood, even more the process of getting it. I could go up to four or five months without feeding and it took a toll on my strength and powers, but I thought it was a fair exchange.
When the time came that I was extremely close to falling ill and alerting Meliodas of my condition, I'd hunt a big animal and harvest its blood. It wasn't pleasant, but it'd do as a substitute. Back when all the sins were together, Merlin would wip up a special substitute for me, which didn't have a really bad taste but the consistency wasn't exactly ideal.

Damn, where's Merlin when you need her. I stared intently as Meliodas and Gil's swords clashed, as Meliodas blocked Gil's thunder. Meliodas slashed at Gilthunder, who dodged quickly.

"Didn't I tell you?! You can't defeat me!" Meliodas exclaimed. He glared at the space where Gil had been, eyebrows furrowed.

I blinked. Gil's gotten fast.

"And didn't I tell you I'd erase your doubts?" Gil suddenly appeared behind the Captain, slashing at him with his long sword with no mercy. Meliodas gasped slightly and flipped backwards, barely avoiding the sword's sharp edge.
To me, it was obvious Meliodas was faking it since I knew how strong he really was. After all, I had known him since Danafor.

Meliodas kept flipping backwards and jumping back, as Gilthunder chased him, sending lightning his way. They got a bit far from Diane and I, but we could still see them from our positions.

Diane frowned, looking at the boys fighting viciously-though that was mainly Gil. "Hmm is the Captain really okay?"

I glanced at her worried face, then back at Meliodas and Gil. They were flashing from spot to spot as they moved fast enough to be unseen by a normal person. It certainly looked like it was going downhill for the Captain, but that couldn't be, right? The mere thought made my stomach lurch. No way. Meliodas will be fine. I gulped. "Let's go take a look."
There was a sudden quake and a rumble, which shook my core. Okay, now I'm slightly worried.
Diane and I looked at each other and walked quickly towards the boys and spotted Meliodas on the ground. I could hear his breathing and his heart; he was panting a bit but his heart rate was normal for the situation. At least that assured me he was fine. Then, as I got a bit closer my heart stopped when I saw what happened next. My thoughts blurred and the only thing I could feel was a burning rage and the burning pain in my dry throat.

Gil had slashed at Meliodas' back harshly, crimson blood following the trail of his sword and gushing out of his back. Meliodas' breath hitched, as he fell face first on the ground. The red stain on his white shirt quickly spread, as he bled out.
I immediately covered my mouth, as the smell hit me strongly, invading all my senses. Every sound became louder, all my instincts screaming at me to feed. Meliodas heartbeat thumped loudly in my ears, making my head ache. My gums ached as my fangs enlargened quite a bit, and I quickly fell to my knees.

Diane quickly got closer to him and called out hesitantly. "Captain?"

I was incredibly angry. What part of me was still conscious was furious at both boys: at Meliodas for letting himself get hurt in my presence, knowing I was starving myself; at Gilthunder for hurting the Captain in the first place, and from behind no less.

It was not that much of a good day as you can imagine.

Why...
Why does the Captain's blood smell so damn good?
Damn... I should've fed before we came here...

I can't believe I let Meliodas get hurt...
I'm supposed to protect him..

I tried to mantain control, as I clenched a stone tightly in my hand, cracking it. My eyes glowed red as I glared at Gilthunder viciously. Plan or not, Meliodas was a certified idiot.
