I

I slammed down the jugs on the table. "Here you go! Three Vanya ale jugs!"

"Thank you missy!"
"Thanks girl!"

I sighed. There are lots of customers today!
"Next order is up!" Meliodas called me from the bar.

I sighed. "Coming!" I trotted over to the bar and took the tray with food to the next table. Meliodas took some ale jugs and served them to the same table.

"This kids are really hardworking, for waiters." A drunk man said from the table.

Huh??... Meliodas and I looked at each other with raised brows, then looked at the man. "Umm, you are mistaken mister." I said, putting a hand on my hip while holding the tray.
Meliodas almost scoffed. "We are not waiters. We are the owners of this tavern."

The man's eyes widened and he gasped, putting down his jug. "Huh?! But you are just kids!"

My name is (Y/N), the Bat Sin of Betrayal, and I work at the Boar Hat with my captain, Meliodas. I was currently occupied with serving all the drunkards in our tavern.

I sighed, taking another tray from the bar to serve it to another table. This always happens, just because we don't age. "This is our specialty, enjoy." I said to the customers, putting down the tray.

The men's eyes lit up and they smiled.
"Awesome!"
"It looks delicious!"
"Thanks for the meal~!"

I stared intently at them, as Meliodas set down a couple more jugs on their table. They bit down on the food, and instantly froze.
I snickered. We never said it was good food.

The men's eyes widened and they spat out the food.
"Gross!!!"

Meliodas blinked while I snickered at them, handing them some napkins.
"I thought you already knew. They recognize us for great liquor and horrible food." He said.

The men stood up angrily, knocking down the table in the process.  "You should've said so earlier!!"
"Do you pretend to trick us?!"
The bulkiest guy pushed his sleeves up, ready to punch Meliodas.

I sighed, picking up all their plates on the floor, assuming they'd be leaving soon. After all, everyone stops complaining after they take a glance at Meliodas' sword.

"Hey, wait! He's got a sword!"

See? Told you.

Meliodas narrowed his eyes. "Well, well, seems we have difficult customers today. Clean this mess." He said, snapping his fingers.

Hawk, our cute piggy friend, walked in, his hoofs clattering on the floor. "Mess? This one? This is why you called me?"

The drunk men flinched in surprise. "The pig talks?!"

Hawk looked up at them. "This is why I can't stand country people, everything surprises them!" He said, walking closer to the mess on the floor, while I put all the chairs and the table back up in their places.

"Hawk, clean this please." Meliodas said.

Hawk groaned and started licking up and eating the horrible food that Meliodas had cooked. "What a bother, eating leftovers like this is no luxury." He said. A few seconds later, he left in place of the mess, a squeaky clean stone floor. "Next time, gimme something decent to eat, okay?"

I snickered at the cute pig, as I stood besides Meliodas after finishing the cleaning up.

"If you're still hungry, I can cook a decent pork stew, what do you say?" Meliodas said with a blank look, obviously teasing Hawk, who turned around in a flash with a loud gasp.
"Aaah! How delicious!! I looove leftovers!"

I raised my brows at the pig. "Um Hawk, you do know that that would be cannibalism, right?"

The whole tavern that had been listening in laughed.

Suddenly, the bell tinkled as another man entered the tavern.
"H-he's here!" He exclaimed, trembling in fear.
Everyone quieted down as the man sat down, and I served him an ale jug.
Meliodas and I stood behind the bar, cleaning jugs, listening to what the man said.

"I'm serious, I saw him with my own eyes! I'm completely sure that it was the Wondering Rusted Knight I saw out there!" The young man said loudly, furrowing his brows at his pals.

"Oh please, it's just an old tale to scare the naughty kids." Another man replied mockingly. " 'If you don't behave yourself, one of the Eight Deadly Sins will come for you in his bloody rusted armor." The men in his table laughed.

I raised my eyebrows, sharing a glance with Meliodas. Could it be Gowther?....Naaaah, he ain't stupid enough to go around wearing that huge super recognizable armor of his.
I decided it wouldn't hurt to investigate a bit. I grabbed some jugs and filled them, slamming them down on the men's table. "So, the Eight Deadly Sins?"

The man who had mocked the other one turned to me. "Yeah, have you never heard of them?"
Yeah, I know a lot more about them than you actually.

"They're on the wanted posters on your wall." Said another man, with a chuckle.
My eyes stared at the board on the wall. The only ones that look nothing like the real thing are Meliodas and I. Who drew that?! Well I guess it ain't their fault, since they don't know that we don't really age.

"How long ago was it, again? Ten years? Dozens of Holy Knights were butchered in a flash. The whole kingdom blames them for it. They say that the Grand Master of the Holy Knights was butchered in such a way that he was unrecognizable. And their captain, Meliodas and his right-hand woman (Y/N) are the worst. They say that they destroyed an entire nation."

I sighed, taking their empty jugs to refill them. I already know all of that, nothing new here. Pft, they have no idea that they're talking with two of us.

"They still haven't caught them right?"
"Not yet."
Well, that's nice to hear.
"There are rumors that they all died but..."
"If they're dead, better for us."

At that point my eyebrows twitched and I zoned out of the rest of their conversation. What do you know?!

Suddenly, we heard clanks and clatters coming from outside. I sniffed. Rust? Dang, it smells like blood. Meliodas and I glanced at each other, and he nudged my arm.
"Do ya think it's him?" He whispered to me.
I sniffed, trying to catch the scent of Gowther. I shook my head. "Nope. It's someone else."

The whole tavern shut up as the bell tinkled and an armored figure stepped in.

"T-the Eight Deadly Sins..." It said.

In a flash, all of our customers ran out.
"AAAh! It's real!"

I growled, running after them. "HEEY! You didn't pay us!!" I yelled at them from the door. Ugh, what a bother. I stepped back inside, closing the door behind me.

"Who are you?" Meliodas asked, standing in front of the armored figure.
I crossed my arms, getting near it and tapping the shoulder. "Yeah, who are you?"

The moment after, the figure stumbled and fell down on its back, the helmet falling from the head. Apparently she had fainted from exhaustion.

Eh?! I tapped her softly, I swear! I raised my hands and sweatdropped. "I swear it wasn't me! I tapped her softly!" I exclaimed, as I tapped her cheek.

Meliodas sighed. "Welp, Let's bring her upstairs, we can't leave her like that." He said, picking her up carefully bridal style.
It was a young human girl, around her twenties. She had long bluish silver hair and nice curves everywhere. I kinda feel self conscious now...

I followed them upstairs, as Meliodas entered my room and put her down on my bed.

My room was comfier than Meliodas', with a red sofa and thick curtains to avoid the passage of sunlight. The walls were painted a creamy yellow, and there was a single window on the ceiling that allowed me to look at the sky.

"Huh, it's a girl. That's unexpected." I said, kneeling down beside the bed. I put my hand on her forehead, and then above her heart. "It seems like she doesn't have a fever, and her heartbeat is just fine."

Meliodas nodded. "I wonder what she was doing in that armor."

"She mentioned the Eight Deadly Sins, do you think she knows them?" Hawk squeaked out.

I looked up in thought. "Hmm, I don't think so."

The girl opened her eyes in that moment and noticed my hand ln her chest, getting flustered and red. "U-u-uh w-why..?"

I studied her face in a second, specially her eyes and gulped. For some reason.....I feel sad when I look at her. But we haven't met before.... I shook my head. I'm going nuts. I smiled gently at her and helped her sit up, offering her my hand. "I was just checking if you had a fever and that your heart was okay."

"O-oh, thank you very much, really!" The girl looked around the room. "U-um, where am I? Why am I here?" She asked, looking at Meliodas.
I stood up, straightening my clothes.
"You came in our tavern and fainted." Replied Meliodas.

"Your tavern?" She asked.

I nodded, grinning brightly at her. "Yep, our tavern, this is the Boar Hat."

"Does it surprise you that we are the owners?" Meliodas asked her.

"O-oh, no! It's just that I saw your swords, so I thought..." She replied, pointing to our swords.

Ah! I had forgotten I was carrying it around.
My outfit of that day consisted of a loose red tie, a long white shirt with no sleeves that reached my knees and black shorts, along with a scabbard around my waist that hung from a belt. The sheathed sword had a large handle made of silver, with a big blue jewel embedded in it.

"Oh this thing?" I said blinking, patting the handle of my sword, Valhalla.

Meliodas unsheathed his broken sword with a swish of the metal, causing the girl to close her eyes and cover her face in fear. "Haha, scared you right? If you can only see the handle it looks pretty scary, that's how we keep customers from leaving without paying." He said with a laugh, putting it back in the scabbard. Then he pointed at me. "Hers isn't broken though, hehe."
The girl stared at us with her wide, curious blue eye.

"Don't let him trick you, he asks for the money as soon as they eat and drink." Hawk said in his nasal cute voice.

The girl gasped, and her eyes lit up. She ran to Hawk and hugged him.  "Aah! It's a talking pig~!" She exclaimed in joy. Wow, she recovered quickly.

"My name is Hawk, it's a pleasure to meet you." Hawk replied with his cute piggy smile.

I laughed. "You like talking pigs?" I asked her, putting my elbow on Meliodas' shoulder, leaning on him.

"Yes! Long ago, I asked my father to give me one as a birthday present!" She replied, as she continued rubbing Hawk's back and patting him.

"So they gave you one?" Meliodas asked hesitantly, in his 'really?' tone.

The girl's eyes darkened with melancholy and her head dropped. "No...."

When I looked at her sad look my unbeating heart clenched and I had to look away. Why... why is it that when I look at her... But we haven't met before.. right?

Meliodas brightened up. "Hey, are you hungry? I could cook some pork for you."

I giggled when Hawk gasped and froze.
"Nooo! No pig!! None!"

                           •••

"It's ready!" I said, motioning for the girl to come sit down and eat.
Meliodas and I had whipped up some steak for her with potatoes that looked delicious, however we were sure that it tasted horrible.

The girl, that had been staring at the wanted posters, sat down on the bar. "You took care of me until I recovered, and now you are giving me food. How could I thank you for this?" She said with a frown.

I chuckled, nudging Meliodas' arm. "It's better if you don't ask. Just eat."

"Yeah, you should eat first before thanking us." Hawk said, putting his front legs on the seat next to the girl's.

Meliodas nodded, smiling at her. "Yep, you probably should."

She picked up the fork and knife with a small grateful smile. "Thank you, thank you so much." She said with a small voice. She cut the steak and took a bite.

Meliodas leaned over the counter with a grin, as we saw the girl freeze and flinch. "And? Is it horrible?"

"Yes." The girl muttered.

"Knew it." Meliodas and I said in unison, as Hawk shook his head.

But we were surprised when we spotted tears running down the girl's face. I raised my brows and parted my lips. Why...???

"But... you are kind, that makes it delicious." The girl said, swallowing the bite she took and wiping her tears. Her face was flushed from the tears.

Meliodas' eyes widened slightly and he stared at her. "What were you doing out there all alone, walking around with that armor?" He asked her, with a raised brow.

I nodded leaning over the counter, resting my elbows on it. "Yeah, it's not normal for us to see a girl wearing armor like that."

The girl looked down at her plate with a small frown. "I've been looking for the Eight Deadly Sins."

Hawk looked at her in confusion. "Why would you do that? I don't know anyone who knows if they're still alive. They're evil villains."

My eyebrows twitched as I glanced at Hawk with a small glare. The piggy was cute, but he shouldn't talk about things he didn't know about. Aish, that's what everyone thinks anyways. They don't know the real story.

My ears twitched and I glanced at the door when a loud knock shook it.

"Open the door! The villagers told us who's in there! We from the Order of the Beard of the Mountain Cat, serve under the Holy Knights stationed at the foot of the mountain. We're here to arrest the Wondering Rusted Knight, member of the Eight Deadly Sins, so come out!"

I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck lazily. "Oh man, what's with everyone today?" I groaned, rolling my eyes.

Meliodas sighed, looking at the door blankly. "Those customers..."

The girl gasped, staring at the door with fear. She clutched her hand to her chest. "Holy Knights...?"

I blinked, staring at her. "Is there a problem?"

"I don't think they'll come out..."

"Hey, by the way, when did they establish a tavern here?"
"Now that you mention it, it wasn't here three days ago."

"Don't lower your guard, we're facing a Holy Knight.."

I tuned out the rest of the conversation of the guards outside as the girl told us that they couldn't find her. Meliodas and I looked at each other and nodded. It was our thing to communicate without saying anything.

I jumped over the bar and grabbed the girl's hand, dragging her to the back. "They'll take care of it, come with me!" I said, sprinting to the back of the tavern. There was a back door in the larder, and it was perfect for our escape. I didn't know this girl, but for some reason I felt like we had met before somewhere.

"B-but w-what is he gonna do?!" She exclaimed with a worried look.
I winked at her, as I heard the front door open. "Distract them, now come!" I said. I pulled her hand again as I opened the door. I concentrated on hearing what was going on with the guards to decide when we should run. Then, I started sprinting, dragging the girl behind me.

"Sir, look! Two women are running away!"

Well shit they saw us. I picked up the pace, strengthening my grip on the girl.
"T-they saw us!" She exclaimed, as she struggled to keep up with my pace.
"Yeah, I can see that."

"What?!"
"They must be part of the Eight Deadly Sins, after them!"
"Yessir!"

The guards ran after us, into the forest.

Dang! The forest was full of huge roots that would be obstacles for us, specially the girl since she wasn't very agile. I jumped over a root and helped her crawl over it. "Come on!" I yelled, dragging her.

The guards were getting closer to us. Dammit! She's too slow and I can't go faster right now, if I do that they'll know!

"If I capture a Sin, it'd be a great achievement and I could aspire to become a Holy Knight!"

I rolled my eyes. You young boy, are dreaming too much.

I heard yells coming from the guards and was shocked to see that Hawk was running super fast, knocking down all of the guards.
Awesome!

I pulled the girl and jumped over a root, running towards the cliff, where the trees subsided. I pulled her behind a bush, as the last guard came running out of the forest, with Hawk right behind.

"Aaaah! Don't come close to mee!!" He yelled, reaching the edge of the cliff. "Eh? Where did they go?"

Hawk pushed him from behind, making him fall.
"AaaaAAh!!!"
"No offense, but thanks to you I've got double rations for dinner!"

I laughed, coming out from behind the bush along with the girl, just as Meliodas caught up with us. "Well, he won't be coming any sooner."

"T-thank you so much! H-how can I possibly repay you two for saving me twice?" The girl said with eyes full of gratitude.

I grinned, giving her a thumbs up. "That's unnecessary!"

"Are you okay?" Meliodas asked us.
"Yep." I said with a grin. This girl is utterly slow, but I managed to not make her trip.

Meliodas put his hands in his pockets, as we walked towards each other. "So, why are you looking for the Eight Deadly Sins?"

The girl walked to the edge of the cliff, staring at the beautiful green landscape. "To... stop the Holy Knights."

"Stop them? But why? They're the knights who protect Liones, they're the heroes of our kingdom." Hawk said in confusion, clearly not understanding.
I raised a brow at the girl, putting my hands on my hips. This is getting interesting...

"But... what if the Holy Knights wanted to start a war in this kingdom?" The girl replied.

My (E/C) eyes widened. Hmm? Why would they do that?

"The other day...the whole royal family was arrested by the Holy Knights, except his Majesty, the King." The girl told us, clenching her small hands.

"Wasn't he in bed ill?" Hawk asked.

The girl shook her head, looking out into the distance. "No, that's the story they have spread. I don't know what exactly they pretend, but they're recruiting innocents from the villages. Their influence will soon reach this area too."

"Are you serious?" Hawk asked in surprise.
I facepalmed. Obviously.
"Seems very serious." Meliodas said, crossing his arms. I took a glance at him, wondering how he could keep a poker face. Even after all these years I still don't know how he does it.

Hawk looked up at Meliodas. "Ugh, but you never take anything seriously." He groaned.

I crossed my arms, staring at the girl. "But what does that have to do with the Eight Deadly Sins?" I asked her. This girl made me very curious; I wanted to understand her reasoning behind her claims. Besides, she reminded me of someone.

"The only ones who can stop the Holy Knights....are the Eight Deadly Sins!" The girl exclaimed, turning her head to look at us with a determined look in her face. This girl just keeps surprising me.

"So, you're looking for them even knowing what people say about them?" Meliodas asked.

"The Eight Deadly Sins...are the most evil and powerful order in the kingdom. They're eight terrible criminals that bear the mark of a beast on their bodies. Ten years ago they were attacked by all the Holy Knights in the kingdom during their attempt to overthrow our monarchy, and then they disappeared." The girl said, looking at us.

"You know, according to the rumors, they're all dead, right?" I asked her, staring at her for a reaction.

She turned around sharply and faced us, clenching her fists. "Such amazing people wouldn't die that easily!" She exclaimed with glossy eyes. I had to hand it to her; this girl didn't want to give up. We didn't even know her name yet, but I felt like we'd good friends.

"Did you forget that they're criminals?" Meliodas asked her. He seemed to be trying to convince her of giving up, but he was probably testing her conviction.

The girl clenched her fists as tears formed in her blue eye. "The Holy Knights are worse for making so many people suffer!"

My eyes widened in amusement and I smirked slightly. This girl is not bad. Maybe we should help her.

"When I was around five years old, my father told me stories about them; they were eight brave warriors that-!"
The girl was cut off by a loud crumbling sound, as the ground beneath our feet shook.
The ground beneath our feet cracked, and the edge of the cliff where we stood fell in pieces, along with us.

"AaAh!!" The girl screamed as she fell. Hawk squeaked as rocks fell on his head.
The four of us were falling down the cliff, but Meliodas and I were calmly staring at the fallen rocks.

I look upwards as we fell with the rocks with a loud crash and spotted a man with mustache clad in armor. Well well, if it isn't an apprentice. Meliodas and I landed swiftly on our feet, and he caught the girl and Hawk in his arms before the rocks fell on top of us and I sighed. What a bother. I spotted one of the guards from before and picked him up before a huge boulder fell on top of him.

I sighed, as I put the guard's body on my shoulder. "Well well, looks like today will be a busy day."
"Looks like it. You ready?" Meliodas replied, holding the girl and Hawk under his arms.
I nodded, and we jumped. We landed safely on the edge of the cliff from before and we put down the bodies we were carrying.

The mustache man spotted us quickly and his jaw dropped in surprise. He furrowed his brows. "Hey, why are you still alive, ypu should've warned me!" He called out to us, unsheathing his sword.

Meliodas looked at the girl. "Hey, are you awake?"
The girl yelped in surprise, opening her eye. "Y-yes!"
"Good. When I say so, you run towards the forest, got it?"
"O-okay." The girl stood up besides Meliodas.

"Which of those useless fools is one of the Eight Deadly Sins?" The man with a mustache asked to himself, walking closer to us and observing us. "None of them look like the pictures of the wanted posters..

I growled, standing up after making sure that the young guard was alive and well. There was nothing that annoyed me more than someone looking down on me. I stared angrily at the mustache man, as he stared at us.

The man's eyes suddenly widened and he furrowed his brows, getting closer to us. "I see, luck is on my side today. That symbol on your earring..."

I glanced at the girl's ear, certainly spotting a blue earring with a symbol. That symbol...wait... My eyes widened as I recognized the symbol. She's-!

"That symbol belongs to the royal family, which means that you are the Princess Elizabeth!" The man exclaimed.

Meliodas and I looked at the girl now known to us as Elizabeth.
"Princess Elizabeth....?" Meliodas muttered.
I looked at her with wide eyes, as I facepalmed. Well now I get it. "Well, look at what we got ourselves into..."
"Princess Elizabeth?! Really?! Then she is the third princess of the kingdom!" Hawk yelled out.

The girl frowned, as she stepped back a bit in fear.

"We have the order to capture you alive and take you back to the castle, but if you die in an accident nobody will be able to refute what I say!" The mustache man said, furrowing his non-existent brows.

I growled at him as I pushed Elizabeth behind me. Meliodas stared at the man and yelled. "Elizabeth run!"

That was our cue to speed towards the forest. I ran ahead, pulling Elizabeth with me, since she couldn't run very fast.
"They can't catch me yet! Don't even think that I'll give up so easily!" Elizabeth exclaimed, as she tried to run as fast as I was.

The man's eyes widened. "Then conclusion: accidental death!" He yelled, as he swung his sword.
My eyes widened as I sensed the slash attack coming our way, the trees all getting cut off as it got closer to us.

"Mels, catch her!" I yelled in the last moment, as I grabbed Elizabeth and threw her to him. Meliodas easily caught her in his arms and I grabbed Hawk just in time to jump high enough above the ground to avoid being slashed into halves. The trees got cut off completely and flew upwards from the shock wave the slash caused.

I growled, gritting my teeth, as Meliodas and I landed safely. He put Elizabeth down and I put a teary Hawk down carefully.
"Uwaaaah, (Y/N) you saved me!" Hawk squeaked, as he oinked a bit sobbing. I glanced at him and sweatdropped nervously when I spotted a stick on his pink back.
"Ehehe..." I laughed nervously, as Hawk's eyes widened when he finally felt the stick on his butt, and more tears started running down his cheeks. Oops... I missed that stick accidentally.. I laughed nervously and looked at the mustache man, who was not too far away from us.

Meliodas kneeled in front of Elizabeth as she opened the eyes she had closed in fear. "Hi there!" Meliodas greeted cheerfully. He glanced at the teary Hawk with a smile. "You okay Hawk? Looks like it."

Hawk sniffed. "S-seriously?! I'm a pig on a skewer, how could I be okay?!" He whined tearily, jumping over a log and running away. "Mommy~! I want my mommy!"
I rubbed my neck embarrassed. "Well, that was my fault."

The mustache man looked at Hawk running away and then shrugged. "The pig doesn't matter."

Elizabeth sat up from the ground and closed her eyes tightly. She seemed conflicted as she stood up determinedly.

Meliodas and I shared a glance and then looked at her. "Hey! Wait! Where are you going?" Meliodas called out.

Elizabeth walked towards the mustache man determined. I figured she was probably trying to defend us. "We cannot run away."

"Elizabeth wait, don't go, you said you wouldn't give up." Meliodas called out to her, as we stared at her.
"But if I give up right now, he won't kill you." She replied. When she got close enough, the bastard mustache man swung his sword down, emitting a shock wave that would have cut her into pieces if Meliodas hadn't pushed her out of the way. As for me, I easily did a backflip to avoid it, but unfortunately the attack cut a piece of my hair.

I landed on my feet with an exasperate sigh, rubbing my temples. What a bother, guys like this dude are just plain annoying.

The attack had cracked the ground, splitting it in half. I walked towards Elizabeth and Meliodas, who were on top of each other. At the sight my heart clenched, but I ignored it. Right-hand woman, remember. Nothing more.

Elizabeth was crying, wiping her tears with the back of her hands. "Please, run away from here!"

I was honestly very surprised. She was a kind girl, and she didn't want us to get hurt, even though she didn't know us at all.

Meliodas glanced at the mustache man. "I think he's gonna kill us even if you give up."

I crouched besides them, staring at the man getting ready to attack again. "Look, he's gonna kill us anyways Elizabeth. He's the type of man that will do that." I said to her.

"Why? I was so happy to do this; I started the search for the Eight Deadly Sins on my own. I had never traveled like that, I walked with that armor until I fell from exhaustion so no one would recognize me." Elizabeth said, sniffing as more tears fell down her flushed face. I almost rolled my eyes at her, but didn't. Another thing that bothered me a lot was people who were crybabies, and this girl had already cried twice today. "But I couldn't find anyone to help me and you two have been so kind to me even though you don't know me. That's why I don't wanna get you involved, this is my problem! I don't even know your names...!" Her voice cracked between sentences.

Names huh? Guess we couldn't hide it for too long! I turned to her and smirked. Meliodas frowned for a millisecond to my confusion, before grinning at her. "Meliodas, that's my name!"

Elizabeth's eyes snapped open and she gasped. "It can't be...Meliodas?! This can't be real!" Her eyes darted towards me as I smirked, winking at her.
"The name's (Y/N)."

Elizabeth gasped again, glancing at Meliodas' ripped shirt and spotting his marked shoulder. "That symbol...it's a beast...no..a dragon!" She exclaimed, quickly inspecting me for a mark. The wind blew away my hair from my face and neck, revealing my tattoo. "And that's... a bat!"

My ears twitched in the second that the mustache man swung down his sword on us, emitting a powerful shock wave that would have cut us in half if Meliodas hadn't unsheathed his sword. I snickered standing up too. Captain's Full Counter hahaha! You are toast!

Meliodas swung his sword, and the attack that had been directed towards us was returned to the mustache man, who got cut on the cheek and jumped back from us.

The man furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes in utter confusion. "It can't be! I'm sure that my sword hit you, yet I'm the one that took the hit! How is that possible?!" He asked, then taking a glance at Meliodas' sword. "What is that thing?! A broken sword!"

I smirked, patting the handle of my Valhalla. Valhalla was my Sacred Treasure, but I couldn't use it in those circumstances, given that I'd completely obliterate the mustache man and his accomplices. Still, it didn't hurt to threaten him. "Mine isn't broken, just in case." I said with a wide smirk, as my small fangs poked out from my lips.
Elizabeth sat up, staring at us in awe. "You really are the real Meliodas and (Y/N)?!"

Then the mustache man's eyes widened and he froze in shock. "Wait, your faces seem very familiar to me!" He exclaimed, studying Meliodas and I. A second after he flinched back in extreme shock. "No! It can't be! Why do you look exactly the same as you did back then?!"

Meliodas smirked, getting into a stance, pulling back his armed arm. "So, you know who we are?"

I smirked, getting into a stance too, putting my fists in front of my face and spreading my legs. "You sure you know us?"

The man's eyes widened tremendously and he started sweating. "No! It can't be! Damn you!!!" He yelled at us, bringing down his sword on Meliodas.
However, Meliodas merely slashed the air, activating his Full Counter. Light emitted from their swords as the man flinched back.
"So this, this extraordinary power is the power of legend!" He croaked out, as he was blown away by the shock wave.

I waved at him. "Shame I couldn't get a hit on you!" I yelled with a smirk.
Meliodas spoke with furrowed brows and a satisfied smirk. "I am known as the Sin of Wrath, I am Meliodas, the Dragon!"

I put a hand on my hip, the other resting on Valhalla's handle. "And I am the Sin of Betrayal, (Y/N), the Bat!" I yelled out.  I know Mustache can't hear me, but it's satisfying to finally say that outloud!

Meliodas sheathed his sword and we glanced at each other. No more hiding then, whoo!
We turned to Elizabeth, who had stood up and was staring at us in awe.

"Seems like you found the first two, isn't that right Elizabeth?" Meliodas asked her with a smile.
Elizabeth blinked. "Huh?"

"Regarding the other six Sins, there's some things I have to discuss with them too. We have been searching for them and we travel with the tavern to collect information." Meliodas declared, facing Elizabeth.
I chuckled. "In short, he's saying that if we have another girl with us
we'll get more clients and will be able to collect more information."

Meliodas nodded in agreement. "Yep, so, will you come with us or what?" He asked, hands on his hips.

Elizabeth's eyes got glossy again with joy and she nodded vigorously. "I'll go!"

I clapped my hands in joy. Yay! Another girl! Without Diane it gets a bit boring! "Yay!"

In that moment, Hawk's huge mom fell from the sky with a loud crash, landing on the bottom of the cliff, near the guards we had defeated.
Meliodas took Elizabeth and we jumped down, grabbing onto the ladder that hung from Hawk's mom's back.
"Nice timing!" I yelled at Hawk.
"I know! That's why I was saying I wanted her!" Hawk oinked back.
Meliodas grabbed the ladder, holding Elizabeth by the waist under his arm.

"Great, let's go to the next village! C'mon Hawk's mom!" Meliodas yelled with a smile.

Hawk's mom started walking away with huge steps, making the ladder shake as we climbed up.
I reached the top first and then helped Meliodas up.

I took Elizabeth from him and helped her stand up, then I held my hand out to her. "Well, I'mma introduce myself properly!" I exclaimed with a grin, bowing. "I'm (Y/N), the Bat Sin of Betrayal at your service. Pleasure to meet you, Princess Elizabeth."

Elizabeth jumped and shook her hands nervously with a smile. "Oh no no, please call me Elizabeth Lady (Y/N)!"

I giggled, patting her shoulder. "Only if don't call me Lady (Y/N). Just (Y/N) is fine."

She shivered nervously and shook her hands frantically. "Oh no, no I could never do that Lady (Y/N)."

I sighed, sweatdropping. "Well, call me whatever you want, it's fine."
This girl just won't drop the politeness.

"Well then, it's an honor to meet you, Lady (Y/N)!" Elizabeth exclaimed with a close-eyed smile.
When I saw that smile my heart shrunk in nostalgy and I frowned a bit. I get it.
She reminds me of Liz.

A little bit too much for my liking.

I don't know if we met by fate or luck, or if despair or hope awaits us.

But our adventure has began.
