Seven
A grisly smile, a sunbathed corpse. A folded hand, blood staining the ground around the body.
My hand slapped over my mouth, and I squeezed my eyes shut. What the hell was that?!
"K-Kati?" Marco said, surprised and confused from my actions.
Eye sunken into his head, muscle shown from the tear through his body. Dried blood spewed across the stones, some still leaking from his teeth.
I felt my head throbbing. A chair slid back next to me, footsteps tapping away. Soon, two pairs of feet came back.
Petrified. Blood streaming from her nose, her head bent back too far. Too much, not enough time. Wails.
"Kati!" Someone was gently shaking my shoulders. Bertholdt's voice? Yes, it's his. "Kati!" he says again.

A crowd of trainees had accumulated around the table, but Reiner and Annie were pushing them back. Marco was sitting with a stupefied look, completely still. Sam and Bertholdt were by my sides, trying to soothe me.
I got up briskly, pulling my hand out of Bertholdt's grip. I walked out without a word, going back to the dorm to rein it in for the night. Mina was the only other person there.
"Oh, hi, Kati. Why are you here so early?" she asked, looking up from what she was sketching.
"I had a small panic attack in the mess hall. No big deal, but it gave me a headache. Don't be surprised if Reiner storms the dorm while I'm in the shower."
Screams of protest muffled. Cries for help. Cries to loved ones. Wails signaling goodbye.
I stumbled, my hand shooting out against the wall. I heard a small creak and saw thin cracks radiating from where my palm had smashed into the wood.
"K-Kati?!" Mina cried out.
"Sorry, it's nothing." When I got into the shower, I looked at my hand. Splinters and callouses decorated the skin. I pulled them out, and there seemed to be no type of wound. Weird...
