~*~ Chapter 2 - The Dilemma ~*~
Trigger Warnings: Crude and Suggestive Language
Third-person POV
"Angel, I never thought you would be so kinky," Remus said pulling at his bonds. His hands were tied behind his back, knotted against a rope that kept them pinned to his waist. Had he not been tied up so thoroughly, Remus would have already dislocated his shoulder to get his hands in front of him. "I'm actually proud. Did you use to tie the kitten up like this? I'm sure he enjoyed you towering over him like a god. Did you ever get so kinky that he had to use the safeword?" A sly smirk played on his lips. "Just remember, there is no safeword in our game." He erupted into a dark twisted smile. It only grew as he saw the irritation in Roman's face.
"What did you do to Virgil?" His voice held no humor, no play on Virgil's name, he was angry.
"Separated at birth and the first question you have for me is about the Neko, how disappointing. Though, I guess it's not surprising. Hey, I'm hungry, mind getting me something to eat, like that ass." Remus chuckled. "I've always wondered what my own ass tasted like. Oh right, I'm supposed to be intimidated." He pretended to cower. "I didn't do anything to your pussy cat that wasn't consensual. Please believe me, big scary angel."
The way Remus said 'consensual' made Roman's skin crawl.
"But I'm willing to talk about the monster if it gets me your attention. The little pu-"
"Virgil."
"Oh, are you the reason he doesn't like that nickname, well I'm rather fond of it."
"His name is Virgil."
"You are no fun angel." He blew a raspberry at Roman, "Anyway, I found Jeffery Downer two years ago, wandering the street, covered in cuts and bruises all over his body. It was so horrendous." He purred in happiness. "I decided I would take him home and explore all of his injuries, and explore I did."
He paused, watching Roman's eyes light up with anger and his hand clenched his sword.
"He was so submissive when I first found him." Remus wiggled in his bonds, trying to crawl closer to Roman, looking up at him with pleading eyes. "He let me run my hands over all of his wounds. He whimpered when I touched all of them. It was such a beautiful sound. Have you ever heard that sound, Angel? Has he ever whimpered and begged under you?" Roman's knuckles were white.
"You are on thin ice demon."
"Oh, and what are you going to do, kill me?" Remus chuckled, "You don't have the guts."
Roman's eyes narrowed at him, waiting for him to continue.
"I wanted to see if I could figure out how he got all of those delicious wounds, and by what hand. He was covered in them, fresh, recent markings and deep scars. I thought, maybe I would be able to replicate them. I admire artwork like that." Remus sat back on his legs, growing bored with taunting Roman, he got to the end, "Sadly he healed. It would have been so much better if the wounds have festered and gone septic. Once he healed he was stronger than I expected, and without you to feed off of I'm pretty weak." Remus rolled his eyes. "If the pus-"
"Virgil," Roman growled.
"Right, Right, of course, if Virgil, had been weaker, I might have been able to try to replicate the wounds, but he is a fighter. He must get that from you. Nekos are normally so much more submissive. It would have been fun to mark up his body, but he scratches when he gets angry. At least that part was fun. It's feisty and kinky."
Roman turned and began pacing. He could barely catch his breath, he had only felt this angry once before, and that was the day that Virgil ran away.
Roman sighed, sitting down on his bed. He took a few deep breaths. "What did you find out? Do you know who hurt him?"
"I wish, I would have asked them to help me with some of my darker schemes. I was always hoping the little pu-"
"VIRGIL." Roman snapped.
"Yes, Virgil," Remus rolled his eyes, "I was always hoping he would remember and I could go talk to his abusers, but he never did. There was a brand on the poor little kitten's thigh, but the craftsmen's ship wasn't as beautiful as the cuts and bruises. I doubt it was made by the same person, so I didn't pay it any attention, no need."
Maybe they could use that. Roman's feathers ruffled as he thought about what he could do to help Virgil. He wanted to get Virgil's memories back, for all of their sakes, but what would they find when they did. "So you didn't take his memories?"
"Oh heavens no, and a heavens no is worth more than hells because when we say no, we mean yes." He gave Roman a flirty grin and Roman shivered in disgust. "I don't have those kinds of powers, I would have kept him constantly wiped if I had those powers. To watch someone experience pain for the first time over and over again, it's fascinating, don't you think?"
"No, I don't think so. So what are you playing at demon?"
"Oh, I'm here to learn all of your secrets so that I can hurt you in the most enjoyable way possible. I was just going to kidnap you and chain you up, but I wasn't expecting you to have so many friends. Though, if I had known your weakness was the cat, I would have made sure to make things much more entertaining. Live and learn, I'll just have to rip him from you again when I escape."
Roman wanted to take this man's head off but he knew he couldn't. There was a twisted bond the two of them shared. "You are lucky that I cannot kill you where you stand."
"I'm keeling, but I can stand if you untie me," Remus smiled a twisted smile, "But I know you won't, because now that I know, the race is on. Will you be able to convince your little kitten to kill me, or will I take everything from you and make you fall. I can't wait to find out." Remus' laughter echoed through the small room. Roman acted quickly and out of anger. He knocked Remus out. He didn't like being cruel. He was supposed to be a prince, a knight in shining armor, everything Virgil had once believed he could be.
Looking down at Remus, tied up on his floor, unconscious, Roman felt like the villain. He slid down to his knees, dropping his sword. Five years, how had he failed to save his prince for five years? And when they were finally reconnected, Roman had seen it in Virgil's eyes. He didn't recognize any of them. Five years and they had been completely erased from Virgil's memory. His heart ached with longing. His soulmate was two bedrooms away and didn't know who he was.
AN: This was the last of what I posted on my one shot book, so the next chapter will be all new content. I probably have said this a lot already, and probably will continue to, but thank you! All of you, thank you so much.
