SALENE NEVER FELT is more out of place than when she set foot into the party of Liz Allen in one of her normal outfits. She didn't realize that she would feel more and more out of place the further she went in but it seemed to melt away when she saw Liz a few feet away who also seemed happy to see the girl there. Salene let out a sigh of relief and walked over, a smile slowly growing on her face.

"Wow," Liz spoke, "I don't think I ever saw you smile before, it's nice." Salene felt her brows scrunch up in confusion but the smile never left, her face seemed to heat up as well.

"Uh, thanks," Salene responded, looking around at the party. No one was staring at her. Everyone was too preoccupied with the music and their friends. Salene realized that the anxiety was just Lucifer and she had nothing to fear.

Salene watched the people mingle, Liz was talking to her with a few of her friends when there was a crash of something that sounded expensive from the other room. Liz groaned and Salene watched as she quickly walked off, leaving Salene to walk over to the island in the kitchen. MJ was there, wearing a dress with a tee-shirt on underneath.

On anyone else, Salene would have cringed, but the way MJ wore it she felt the urge to dress the same way.

"I like your new look, very expressive," Mj spoke up as she looked around the cabinets for the bread.

"Uh, thanks, the drinks are in the fridge right, or is there a cooler?" Salene asked and Mj looked around.

"Fridge," Mj answered and Salene walked around the girl and opened it up, smiling at the two-liter of Dr. Pepper and pouring herself a drink. She spun around as she left everything how she found it before standing herself next to Mj. She sipped her drink as she watched the people who came and left and who would run into the swarm of dancing teens when a different song would come on.

She also noticed when Peter Parker and Ned Leeds entered the party. Salene straightened up at the sight of them as they looked around. Peter only glanced at Salene for a few seconds before Liz approached the two. She watched the girl interact with the two nerds before another crash resounded, making Salene feel frustrated for the high school students.

Peter looked back to where Salene was and she panicked as she noticed him walking over to her. She never would have that that it would be Flash Thompson that would save her.

"Penis Parker, what's up?" Flash spoke and Salene looked to him where he stood at the DJs booth, headphones clinging to his head. With a press of a button, horns honked like it was a comedy show.

Salene didn't find this humorous.

"So, where's your pal Spider-Man?" Flash ashes, "Let me guess. In Canada with your imaginary girlfriend?" Salene could feel the anger boiling in her chest and she looked down to her hands, noticing that the color was all the same.

Her boil went down a few degrees as she looked to Peter who looked like a deer caught in headlights.

"That's not Spider-Man. That's just Ned in a red shirt," Flash spoke and Salene rolled her eyes, she wasn't there for the gym class fiasco where Ned told the whole school that Peter and Spider-Man were best friends. There's no way Ned didn't know that Peter was Spider-Man.

Salene could only wonder how much of herself did Peter know. She felt like she's been doing a terrible job at keeping her secret. Her brother knows, Peter possibly knows, hell Tony Stark took one look at her and figured her out. Salene wasn't prepared for the life that came with being a superhero or a vigilante. She just wanted to finish high school.

She sighed as Peter disappeared and Ned made small talk with the people around him, he kept on looking back at different windows. Salene found herself wandering, she caught glimpses of Kyril in the crowd of people, he was her plus one and he wouldn't admit it but Salene already knew that Kyril had a crush on Liz Toomes.

She ended up near the wall of windows and admired the view that the Toomes get every day. Salene almost didn't see the plume of purple smoke that went up near an abandoned bridge. Salene knew exactly where that was. She spun around and waded into the crowd of dancing people, finding Kyril easily as he spoke with other seniors.

"Kyril!" Salene called out over the music, instantly catching his attention as she walked over, wide eyes, "Chreiázomai ta kleidiá, eínai epeígousa"

Kyril furrowed his eyebrows and gently took her by the arm, pulling her over to a quiet corner. He looked around and leaned into her ear.

"Drive it around the block and make sure it's under a street light, take a picture of the house it's in front of," Kyril spoke and Salene nodded, giving him a tight hug before taking the keys from his hands and running out of the house.

Salene wasn't sure why she was excited to even be driving his car. The whole point of the night was for her to take a break. But now, she wasn't sure if she wanted one. She knew she wasn't going to feel right at that party. She knew she belonged on the streets, fighting for the people who couldn't help themselves.

She stopped at a reasonable distance and climbed into the backseat, finding her case with ease, and easily slipped on the suit. Salene felt better as soon as the fabric tightened over her body. She sighed in relief and climbed out of the car, hiding the keys in a spot only Kyril would know to look and she pulled out her phone, took a picture of the house, and sent it to him.

She didn't hesitate to leave the neighborhood, flying off in the direction of the abandoned dealer's bridge. Salene felt her body core going back down to a normal temperature. She noticed that the gauntlets grew brighter as the body core got closer to normal. Salene felt happiness swell in her heart and soon she was watching a weapons deal from behind a bush, the distance was about 100 feet and behind a tree but she could hear it like she was right next to the van.

She was silent as she gathered information. She had never seen these dealers before but the weapons looked familiar. Salene realized that the dealers also supplied the ATM robbers with avengers masks. She grew angry as she shifted her stance between her feet and she felt the urge to ambush them. But she decided against it. No one has made any deals, and quite frankly, the buyer doesn't seem interested in the high-end weapons.

Not until they mentioned the wall climbers and a phone went off. Salene looked up to where the sound was coming from and frowned to see Peter quickly declining the call that could only be from Ned. She rolled her eyes and crept closer and hid behind a wall of tires, watching their moves.

"You set us up man," One dealer spoke, instantly pointing his gun to the buyer, clearly unarmed and with his hands raised. Salene flew up and landed in front of the buyer, pushing him back to make some distance between him and the dealer. She glared at the dealer and was ready to charge at him.

Peter had dropped down before she could and it caught everyone's attention.

"Hey, if you're gonna shoot at somebody, shoot at me!" Peter spoke up, the buyer smirked and pointed his gun at Peter.

"Fine," He answered. Peter had snatched the man's gun out of his hand and given Salene long enough to get to the van. She didn't even see what had thrown her back but she knew that she had collided with Peter because his grunt of pain was right in her ear as he broke her fall.

Salene didn't hesitate to get back up and chase down the van now that it was speeding off, the tires spinning out before they caught the ground. She felt the loose bits of pavement hit her body as it got flung by the tires but she didn't let them stop her. The van was in arms reach when a web flew past her head and attached to the door, she spun around and caught Peters open hand and let him cling onto her. She groaned at the sudden jerk on her arm and quickly grabbed onto the web, using her powers to keep her balanced as she pulled herself up. She was in reach of the man who she figured out had punched her with a metal hand with some sort of electrical component to it. Salene saw the fear in his eyes as she reached out to grab onto his shirt, but the web snapped and peter tried webbing the hothead's other door but it only fell off.

The two tumbled around and Salene wheezed as she felt a particular pain in her side, she might have a broken rib but she would have to deal with it later. She paid Peter no mind as she looked around, noticing that she wouldn't use all her powers at once if she jumped rooftop to rooftop and cut the dealers off at the exit of the neighborhood that she got dumped at. Salene jumped onto the closest roof, using her powers as a boost and she took off running, leaving Peter in the dust as she skipped from roof to roof. Peter seemed to have quickly caught up to her and soon, they were in stride. Salene only had to take one glance at Peter and she knew even through the mask.

She pulled him into her side and jumped, launching them both off onto the next roof. She released him the second all four feet were grounded and she stumbled, rolling into the flat part of the roof. Salene grunted and felt Peter grabbing her hand and pulling her up. She pulled away, brushing herself off, and noticed that she was breathing a little heavier than usual. Now she was getting tired out?

Salene cursed herself up and down as she started up her run again and jumped, this time missing the roof completely and falling straight into the roof of a shed and falling through. She pushed through the front door, barely brushing herself off before barreling through the wooden plank fence that separated the properties. A man who was only two feet away from her hole in the wall watched as she ran.

"Smells great!" She heard Peter behind her as she picked up speed and jumped, clearing the hedge.

Peter caught her and webbed onto a treehouse, which made Salene widen her eyes but it was too late, they got caught up in Christmas and faerie lights and Salene was dangling by her ankle. All the movement seemed to have put her rub back in place so if she could manage to keep it that way, she and Kyril could get some drug store wraps and keep it wrapped up until it healed.

She gasped as she spun in place to see two little girls scream and scramble back to their house. Salene looked up at her foot and blasted at the lights, bracing for the drop and popped to her feet. She glanced to Peter whose mask needed recalibration. Salene only sighed and made their way.

A few disturbed yards later, Salene and Peter caught sight of the van and she picked up speed, adrenaline flowing through her veins and bringing her body temperature up. She wasn't going to let this one getaway. Salene and Peter jumped in sync, Peter was in the middle of saying some cheesy line and Salene was ready to snap on him, but a demon came from above and snatched them up.

Salene screamed like a banshee. Her rib was out of place and the demon squeezed even harder. Salene gasped in pain. She was beyond scared, this demon was now touching people other than her, Peter was wiggling and screaming for them to be dropped.

Salene was beyond scared of this demon, this one didn't have an aura that she could read. She looked to Peter desperately and she heated her body, looking back at the demon in anger. They were over the lake and he seemed to only get higher. He would have gone higher but he got spooked by Salene and Peters suit beeping and a parachute opening.

Salene and Peter were free-falling and their parachutes were below them instead of above, and to top it off, Salene and Peter's parachutes were tangled up and Salene was already blacking out. The last thing she saw was Peter's mask as they crashed into the water.
