Monkey King x Monkey reader x Macaque

You lost your footing when you blocked Monkey King's blow. This sent your left foot slipping off the cliff's edge.

"Sun!" You yelped.

Monkey King caught you with a hand to your lower back.

"Told ya to watch your footing." He chided with a grin.

Your heart fluttered as he righted you both tugging your form just a little too close to him.

Monkey King seem to take note of how your tail had frizzed as well as your tight grip on his arms.

"You can let go now, peaches." He chuckled. "I wasn't gonna let you fall. Trust me."

You slowly eased your grip still very aware of how near the edge you were.

"If you want her trust, maybe try not throwing her off the mountain next time."

Macaque called from a nearby rock. He was leaning on his shoulder against it with his arms folded. Macaque's tail flicked angrily his gaze on how close you were to The Monkey King.

Gently, you pressed yourself away from Monkey King with a blush.

"Guys please play nice. Macaque we were just training." You explained glancing at him.

Macaque's restless tail seemed to ease slightly.

"Are you ready to go?"

You shook your head.

"Not quite yet, Macaque. I still need to know what I messed up on." You glanced at the cliff's edge. "Besides nearly flying off the mountain."

"Actually, you did really well Y/n. Buuuuut maybe work on your stance next time around."

You smiled.

Macaque took a gentle hold of your arm.

"Ready?"

You nodded and waved goodbye to Monkey King as Macaque lead you into the shadows.

Monkey King mimicked your wave. Before tossing a concerned look your way. You weren't sure why he always looked so worried. Macaque would never hurt you.

Macaque had invited you a week ago to a movie night and to teach you more about magic.

You were similar to the would be brothers as you were born in a similar manner. But you had not been allowed to train as they had. You waited for a full century to ask. Eventually, Monkey King agreed to teach you the physical arts. And Macaque agreed to teach you what magic he could.

Eventually, your closest friends in the world had a falling out. Something had happened, but you weren't sure what. Neither the Monkey King nor Macaque would tell you.

So, you opted to portion time for both of them separately. Though it was often difficult, and you couldn't stop most fights, but it was worth it.

Macaque set out a couple mats for you to sit on.

You watched him simply as he did so.

He glanced your way and threw you a smirk.

"Well, don't just stand there. Come here, I won't bite." With the last quip he grinned at you showing his fangs.

Your heart skipped a beat and blood rushed to your cheeks. You walked over and sat on the mat he had laid for you.

Macaque offered you his hands.

"Alright, today's lesson is about teleportation."

You two worked for a few hours then watched movies until you decided to head home.

Macaque had wanted to walk you home, but you had declined.

As you walked the world seemed beautifully silent. Your hypersensitive ears soaked in the silence, while you enjoyed the wind in your fur.

Then a sharp pain pierced your neck. You gasped a bit and stumbled forward. Your gaze blurred and your body felt a kin to stone in the ocean.

You touched your neck gingerly and tugged away a dart. Soon everything around you faded to black.

The next day.

Monkey King paced back and forth impatiently. Y/n was NEVER late and today she was late by twenty minutes. Every possible bad scenerio flicked through his mind's eye. Yet he had opted to stay put for a few more minutes wanting to trust her. Then the most disturbing thought yet struck him.

What if she had slept over at Macaque's lair? Instantly, Monkey King jumped on his cloud and blasted off.

Macaque twirled his bo staff as he trained in his dojo flowing through the steps fluidly. Until the door exploded inward.

"Oh hey, buuud." Macaque slurred with a falsely sweet tone. "How you doin? Did ya bring Y/n?" He leaned a little to the left expecting to see her shy smile from the rude entrance. But she was no where to be seen.

Macaque grinned. Oh so this was going to get ugly. It would e his pleasure to send Monkey King back to his lair covered in bruises.

"Cut the crap, Macaque. Where is she?" Monkey King folded his arms.

Macaque's heart dropped.

"Y/n? I sent her home last night. Why?"

Monkey King glowered at him disbelievingly.

Macaque laughed lightly.

"Hey you can tear this place apart if you want. She isn't here."

Monkey King grabbed him by his collar.

"Where. Is. She?"

Macaque rolled his eyes.

"Why don't you check her home?" With that he disappeared into the shadows and teleported to her home.

Only, y/n was nowhere to be seen. Her bed was made and her shoes weren't next to the door. Panic roiled on his stomach as Monkey King entered through her balcony doors.

Just as he went to speak, an ethereal blue arrow stabbed into the floor with a note written on it.

Monkey King cocked an eyebrow and took the note.

"If you ever want to see her alive again, you'll do as you're told." He read aloud.
