Your eyes wandered over to the clock on your nightstand.
Surely enough, it was nearly 3 in the morning.
A sigh of exasperation escaped your lips. Why couldn't you just get to bed? You were tired, but somehow not tired enough to get some sleep. It was frustrating. If only something could just happen that would give you a reason to be awake...
As if on cue, you suddenly heard a knock on your window.
Startled, you nearly jumped out of your skin, looking over toward the source of the noise.
“Y/N, are you awake?” asked a familiar, melodic British voice.
You sighed yet again, this time in relief. It was only your friend Davy.
His brown eyes looked like crystals in the moonlight shine. Why is it that he always looked so perfect? Any girl could fall in love with him...You being the prime example.
You hurried over to the window and opened it up. “What the heck are you doing here so late?”
“Couldn't sleep,” the boy replied, carefully entering through the window into your room. “Had a lot on my mind.”
You could definitely relate as you sat back down onto your bed. “Do the other guys know you're here?”
“You must be joking!” Davy laughed a little. The sound of his laughter never failed to make you smile and make your heart do leaps and bounds. “If they knew I was meeting a girl, I'd never hear the end of it.”
As he was talking, he took it upon himself to sit down onto your bed right next to you.
Davy sighed as he laid himself down onto the soft surface of the bed. “I don't see why they have a problem with me seeing girls so much, anyway. So what if it takes up all my attention so I can't perform right, or makes me do that bloody star-eye thing...” His voice trailed off. He laughed again, continuing. “Actually, I think I'm beginning to see their point.”
“Oh, it's not your fault,” you reassured him, and then thought of a question. “...Do all girls you meet make you do that?”
He sat himself up straight, looking you right in the eye. “Well...It never happens when I'm with you.”
For some reason, your heart sank. “Oh...” Did this mean he wasn't interested in you?
“But y'know what?” He smiled. “All those girls that make me do that; it never lasts. Why, I hardly ever see them again after the first day I meet them.” His hand slowly moved over to yours. “I think it's because...You're special to me, Y/N.”
You could hear your heart beating fast and your cheeks growing hot. “R-Really?”
He nodded, moving a little closer. “Listen, I...I don't really know how to put it into words, but,” he paused. “I see things in you that I don't see in anyone else, y'know? And I guess I just...I never want to lose that.” He smiled, looking shyly to the ground.
You could hardly contain your excitement. “I love you, Davy!” You blurted out, then immediately regretted saying it.
He laughed again. “Hey, I was going to say that!”
You looked back at him, a relieved look in your eyes, but it didn't last long. Before you could fully comprehend what was happening, he leaned in and made everything perfectly clear with a kiss.
You never wanted the moment to end. However, after a while, Davy slowly pulled away.
“I don't think I wanna go back home now.” He smirked.
You smirked back. “Hey, you can sleep on the carpet if you'd like.”
There was a moment of silence, but it was interrupted by the two of you bursting into laughter.
Through all of this, the clock was still ticking.
At last, there was a reason to be awake.
