The Scandalous Revelation
───────────────────────────────────
Ara did the best she could to hide from the scene in front of her eyes. She felt like a little kid who wanted to see but didn't want to at the same time. The scene disgusted her greatly, but she wanted to make sure her eyes weren't lying to her. She wanted to make sure her suspicions about the condom packages were true. She walked closer but still hid herself from the couple on the couch.
Eunha was busy in her act with the guy, but Ara was also busy recording the scene with her phone. She had a perfect view of the situation and it was extremely clear that it was Eunha. Now that she had the video, she kept wondering to herself what she was going to do first. Tell Jimin, confront Eunha, or hide it. Yeah, she was definitely not about to hide it. She wasn't a coward. Even though Ara could see Eunha perfectly, she couldn't see the face of the guy pretty well. His blonde hair looked familiar, and his whole figure overall was very similar to someone she knew. Someone she knew pretty well.
The guy leaned Eunha back onto the couch and hovered on top of her with a sinister smirk on his face. Ara's mouth dropped, experiencing secondhand embarrassment and a heavy load of betrayal from the one and only: Byun Baekhyun. She felt even more disgusted when she witnessed her own brother making out with Eunha. Such a disgrace to the Byun family. What a dickhead. Such a smart man, but an idiot at the same time. A man who would allow himself to be seduced by the one and only Kang Eunha.
Ara stopped her video and immediately went to call a saved phone number. A phone in the living room started ringing, so she backed away slightly from the scene in order to see what was going to happen. Baekhyun pulled back from the kiss and reached inside his pocket. He pulled out his phone and looked at the caller on the screen. Ara thought he wouldn't answer since he was in the middle of something, but he did.
"I'm busy, Ara. Why don't you call back later?" Baekhyun said as soon as he answered the phone, leaving Ara in shock at her own brother's behavior. Of course, as expected from him. As expected from men. They see a woman that is just their type and suddenly they lose their ability to think. Such smart men that suddenly think with their dicks and not their minds.
"If you don't want me to pull you out by the ears and kick your ass in front of the whore having an affair right now, then please get the hell out of this house," Ara replied. At first, Baekhyun was confused, but then he noticed something. Something he should have asked before he made the first move at the bar.
"Eunha. Kang Eunha? That's your name, right? You are Kang Eunha," he said, in realization as he placed the phone on hold. "Aren't you married? Or perhaps in a relationship? Answer me."
Eunha scoffed, knowing something was most likely told to him by that mysterious phone call. She didn't answer, but Baekhyun knew it all, as he trusted his younger sister in basically everything. Ara barely told him anything about her personal life, but when she told him something was wrong, he trusted those words as if they were sacred.
"For fuck's sake, Eunha! I don't fucking like this," he said. "I'm a man of law. This is extremely unacceptable what you are doing to your spouse, and it makes me feel extremely guilty as well. I don't like lies. Mostly betrayals."
Baekhyun was a lawyer. Indeed, 'a man of law'. When his father was alive, Baekhyun created his own law firm, Baekhyun & Associates. Becoming a corporate lawyer was his biggest goal in life, but on top of that, he also handled some criminal cases on the side. He just hated injustice, he couldn't accept it. He hated betrayals, he hated affairs, he hated murders. Now that he was in the middle of an affair, he couldn't accept it. He stood up, bowed, and made his way towards the door. When he walked out, Eunha ignored his statement and walked upstairs.
Ara ran towards the door and pulled the man by his suit, making him stubble back in shock. He turned around, expecting Eunha to be there, but it was his younger sister. Ara didn't say a word. She just smiled and hugged her brother tightly as the only words that came out of his mouth were, "You did a good job, Ara."
Baekhyun didn't expect so much love from his sister knowing her introverted nature, but it was a nice and warm hug, which he responded to just the same way.
When they were young, their parents got divorced, and it resulted in Ara leaving with her mother right after she changed her surname from Byun Chaewon to Lee Chaewon. They moved to a small house away from the city and lived off Chaewon's published books. Baekhyun stayed with his father, Byun Haneul, who was the founder and CEO of the Byun Corporation in charge of the Byun Legacy. Ara would visit her father during the weekends and everything was fine for the siblings. That was until Chaewon passed away because of an illness and Ara had to return with her father. She ended up receiving the full inheritance from her mother before she returned.
Chaewon never saw her son the last few days of her life. Their father lived more or less the same fate. Both siblings inherited half of his wealth, but that didn't cross their minds for one second. Their focus was that he had died from a hit and run—or that was what Baekhyun had told Ara. However, he knew the whole truth. He just chose not to tell her to avoid the suffering that would come after.
Baekhyun was also a business executive, just like his father. Haneul trusted his son and knew he would take care of his sister and help her out whenever needed. Baekhyun tried to do that, even if he was busy taking care of his father's business. However, it became harder with time. Mostly when he had to balance between being an executive and a lawyer at work. His focus started switching from corporate law to criminal law, occasionally because of one reason.
He wanted justice.
He was going to find who murdered their father. Because that was what happened. Byun Haneul was murdered one night five years ago.
As both of them walked outside the house, a car was pulling up on the side of the road. Jungkook and Jimin got out of the car and walked to the siblings confused. Jimin mainly wanted to know what the strange man was doing with his maid in front of his house.
"Mr. Byun, right?" Jungkook asked, shocking Ara with the knowledge he had of Baekhyun. Her brother nodded and bowed. They certainly had met each other before.
Lost and confused in the situation, Jimin just asked, "Mr. Byun, how may I help you? Did my fiancée invite you?"
Ara gulped hearing that. She could sense the jealousy in his voice—it was extremely understandable why he would feel that way. If only he knew what was happening in his house just a few minutes before he showed up. Had Ara not interrupted the scene, Baekhyun and Eunha would've continued the act, and Jimin would have witnessed it himself.
"Mr. Park, I need to show you something—" Ara began, only to be interrupted right away by her brother.
"Let's have a drink. I'll pay. We can talk there."
Ara turned her face to Baekhyun, not expecting the interruption at all. Does he not want to tell Jimin? That couldn't be the case. He hated lying to people even if he had to as a lawyer sometimes. Maybe he wants to tell Jimin himself? That was the only explanation. He wouldn't just keep quiet about the situation.
At the bar, Ara accompanied them, just in case her brother drank too much. She also needed to be there because she had proof of the situation. At one point, Ara went to the bathroom as the three men drank themselves to waste. Baekhyun knew he didn't have a schedule the next day, so he did whatever he wanted. Their conversations were about anything other than Eunha—their companies, their parents, their lives—never about Eunha.
As Ara returned, she noticed her drunk brother and his annoying behavior popping out. She watched him slowly close his eyes in an intoxicated state, making her lose hope in humanity.
"I'm so sorry," Ara apologized. "We need to be going home. I wanted to talk about something important, but I guess we can't do it now. We can have this talk another time."
Jimin nodded, taking a sip of his drink. Jungkook watched as Ara tried to get her brother to stand up—which was impossible. Jungkook had to be the one to carry him to his car in order to give him a ride. He was the one who had to take Ara and Baekhyun to Minji's house, while Jimin just went home. Jimin had to discuss other things with his girlfriend.
At Minji's house, Jungkook struggled with the lazy man clinging onto his shoulder as they walked in. Minji sat on the couch as she saw the scene and all she could say was, "Oh my! Did Jungkook come out of the closet too? Another win for the gays!"
She cheered as Ara looked at Jungkook, confused. Jungkook scoffed and tossed Baekhyun right onto the couch next to Minji. That lazy man chuckled like a maniac for a good minute before he opened his eyes and pointed at the audience staring at him. Indeed, he had faked his intoxicated state. He remembered exactly who Kang Eunha was the moment he saw Jimin—the wealthy executive who was constantly trending in the news.
Kang & Co. That was Eunha's company, and he knew that, but he couldn't tell Jimin about the affair yet; he had plans for Kang & Co. Baekhyun despised that company, and it was all for a very specific reason: the Byun Haneul murder.

"Mr. Byun. My name is Jeon Jungkook. This is Mr. Kim. He's an intern here at the Kang Hospital. He was the last person to see your father," said the younger man in front of him. "We are so sorry for your loss."
Baekhyun looked up at both men in front of him with tears in his eyes. He could barely see them anymore, he could barely process that they were there. He could only see the man in the picture right in front. When he saw his father's smile, he couldn't help but let all his tears out. The man that was always smiling would smile no more.
"My father," Baekhyun cried as he was kneeling on the floor. "I refuse to believe he just died. For fuck's sake, he was fine the day before. I saw him. I fucking saw him and he was perfectly fine."
The intern looked down, unable to face the young man. After all, he still felt guilty for what had happened a week before the funeral. A tear slipped down his cheek. If only he hadn't been so irresponsible. If only he hadn't been so clumsy, maybe he could've seen the man's face—or perhaps he could've stopped him.

Early in the morning, Jungkook was waiting outside Ara's house once again. She walked outside, and he smiled at her. Walking closer to him, she looked at him confused and asked, "Why are you here? Did Minji call you?"
He shook his head.
"I came for you," he said. "Minji and I resolved our issues, and I know it was because of you. Please, in return, accept this car ride as a thank you for your help."
Ara smiled as Jungkook opened the door to the passenger seat and signaled for her to get inside. When she did, he closed the door and walked around to the driver's side. During the ride, it was mainly silent until Jungkook spoke.
"So, how has it been working for Jimin?" he asked. "I mean, he's no issue. I should've asked about Eunha. What's it like working for her? Must be a living hell."
"Jimin is very nice," she said. "But Eunha—there's something off about her. Minji doesn't like her because of her homophobic comments, but it's more than that. She hates Eunha. It goes far beyond the slurs."
Ara then went silent. She didn't know if it was her place to tell Jungkook what she had seen, but she thought it was for the best, since she didn't expect Baekhyun to do so. After all, Jungkook had already witnessed the affairs as well.
"I saw her the other day, when you saw my brother leave Jimin's house. He was there as her one-night stand."
Jungkook halted the car and turned to face Ara. The news shocked him, but didn't at the same time. He didn't expect Baekhyun to be that type of man. After the last time they had met, he didn't expect Baekhyun to sleep with an engaged woman. He just shook that thought out of his head, thinking that maybe he just didn't know she was engaged. That was the only probable explanation. He was most likely unaware because Eunha wouldn't have mentioned it to him.
"I believe Jimin is still unaware of the issue. I was going to show him the video I recorded, but Baekhyun stopped me. I don't know what he's planning. I'm sure he's hiding something from me. Something very important he doesn't want to mention."
Jungkook nodded. He was curious to know what Baekhyun was planning. He didn't know if he could trust Baekhyun, but he knew his past and he knew what type of person he was. If Baekhyun had something up his sleeve, then it had to be very important. It had to be crucial, and it had to be huge. Putting the dots together, he figured everything out.
At Jimin's house, Jungkook parted ways with Ara as she walked in and started working. Jimin was sitting on the couch as he worked on his laptop and skimmed through some files. He then looked up at Ara and saw her cleaning in front of him. He recalled the fact that her brother was Byun Baekhyun and did some research on him. The headlines portrayed him as a successful young attorney who had to manage a company on his own after his father's sudden death. He then did some research on Ara. There was barely anything about her online. She was rich. Key word—was. The headlines talked about her when she was younger, but there was nothing afterwards. Baekhyun overshadowed her, except for one specific headline that mentioned a marriage in the Byun family. It had Ara's name plastered on it.
"Ara, why don't you tell me something about yourself?" Jimin asked. Ara paused her work and turned to face the man on the couch. She didn't expect him to ask her that. Matter of fact, no one had ever asked her that before. People knew who she was because of her father, but now that he was gone, she wasn't the same person she once used to be. She was just Ara. There was nothing special about her anymore.
Jimin had his backstory as well, but not much could be told about it. He was just that rich kid that grew up to take over his father's business when he passed away. His father, Jiseok, had taken over the business from his own father years before Jimin was born. It was a generational thing. Jiseok had expanded the estates and the corporation before he left it all to his son, Jimin. There was nothing as interesting, unless the topic was his arranged marriage. The marriage was fully planned by Kang & Co., especially his fiancée, Kang Eunha.
