CUANDO RUTH STYLES era chica siempre soñó en cuento de hadas, no le importaba que en Gotham siempre era un lugar frío y oscuro ella vivía en su cuento pero después de conocer a Bruce, ese cuento se volvió más grande porque ella pensaba que él sería su príncipe azul, pero después de la muerte de los padres de Bruce él se alejaba, ella intentó muchas veces hablar con él, pero él se negaba solo porque no quería que lo viera llorando.

Un día Ruth decidió sin importarle si a Bruce le molestaba que estuviera ahí, Bruce en ese momento se encontraba llorando ese fue el detonante que hizo que Bruce se acercara para abrazarla, ella solo quería que él estuviera bien, y él quería protegerla como no lo hizo con sus padres.

Fueron creciendo Ruth cambiaba de actitud repentinamente y eso a Bruce no le gustaba eso lo confundía ya que él se había enamorado de ella cuando la conoció, le hacía pensar que se alejaba de él, pero Ruth no lo hacía por qué si, solo que estaba pasando por un mal momento que no quería que Bruce entere.

Pero Bruce se esforzó por saber lo que le pasaba, eso le hizo enojar Ruth no le había estado diciendo que sus papás se estaban divorciando porque la madre de Ruth descubrió que no solo la golpeaba a ella si no también a su propia hija cuando ella salía a trabajar.

Ruth no le había dicho porque sabía lo que él estaba pasando y no quería que fuera otra carga para él.

Después de eso Ruth se hizo más cercana al punto de saber lo que Bruce hacía por las noches, pero lo que él no sabía era que aparte de ser su mejor amiga también era de uno de sus grandes problemas como Batman.

Cuando Ruth cumplió la mayoría de edad se había convertido en una ladrona en Gotham, solo era para poder llevar dinero a su casa, ya que con lo que ganaba su mamá no era suficiente.

Eso se había vuelto más grande ya que se hizo experta en ser ladrona, ya no era solo un pasatiempo ni un problema para la policía de Gotham si no también para Batman, y Ruth Styles tendría que lidiar con eso y más.
