.The first time I kinda believed.

I look away after I hear Five call me his girlfriend to Hazel.

We only admitted to having feelings for each other an hour ago. We never even talked of the subject.

Once my face cools down a little more, I tune back into the conversation.

"Can't believe I'm actually sittin' here talkin' to you, after all..." I hear Hazel saying, fangirling over Five.

I raise my brow at him and smirk, knowing I'm not only going to need more details but also I'm never going to let him live this down. Five turns towards me, seeing my expression and I can see it in his eyes that he knows that I'll never let him live this down.

"Hazel, what do you want?" Five asks, turning away from me and towards one of my kidnappers, who also is one of the official members of the Five fan club.

'I should get t-shirts for us. Then everyone will know how much we love Five.' I think to myself. I realize that I thought that I love him, I turn away as Hazel begins to talk as my face heats up again.

I'm brought out of my self pity spiral when Diego runs into the room and starts attacking Hazel.

"Diego, stop!" yells Five, but not moving to split up the fight between our knife wielding brother and my teddy bear kindnapper.

"Get up!" yells Diego, wanting to fight with Hazel.

"You know, before you kill him, you might wanna hear what he has to say." I states, leaning closer towards Five as he watches the fight and I watch him.

'I'm never drinking anything Five makes me again.' I think as I study his face, that's now turned towards me.

"You have really pretty eyes." I whisper, slightly drunk.

"Thanks, sweetheart." Five says, a small blush on his cheeks as he turns back towards the fight between Hazel and Diego.

"Are you gonna..." exclaims Hazel loudly, as Diego goes and punches him again, pulling me out of my staring of Five.

"Come on!" yells Diego, releasing more of his pent up anger.

'He should really see a therapist for all of his issues.' I think to myself. 'On second thought, we all need to see a therapist. Maybe that should be the first thing we do now the world isn't ending. Fix our mental health.'

I giggle to myself about my thoughts, as I see Diego stab Hazel in the leg. Sucking in a breath knowing how that feels, having gotten one to many knives to the leg in our training days.

"That's gotta hurt." hisses Five.

Me and Five watch the fight a little longer until, we see Diego jump on Hazel's back and bite his ear.

Five places his margarita down next to me, and blinks to behind Diego and smashes a glass vase over our brothers head.

"I draw the line at biting." grumbles Five, limping back over to the counter.

I go to take a sip of Five's drink, when he get's back to his seat and takes it from me. I pout at him, in which he leaves a kiss on my cheek to cheer me up, which helped, slightly.

"Hazel, whatever you came here to say, I suggest you make it quick." instructs Five, sipping on his margarita. "before he comes around."

"I left my partner, quit the Commission, came to volunteer." states Hazel proudly.

'He and Cha-Cha were together, I did not see that one coming.' I think to myself.

"For what?" asks Five.

"To help stop the apocalypse." explains Hazel.

"Hm." Me and Five turn to each other and start laughing, causing a confused look to take over Hazel's face.

"What on earth could be so funny to you two?" asks Hazel, annoyed with our obvious lack of care for the apocalypse.

"Before we answer that, why do you wanna help us?" I ask, after my laughing had died down some more.

"Let's just say I have a vested interest in a doughnut shop." Hazel smiles and looks off to the side, trying and failing to hide the blush that rose to his cheeks.

"Well, I hate to break it to you, pal, but you're a day late and a dollar short." explains Five. "The fact you're here right now means, without a shadow of a doubt, that the apocalypse is over."

"Really? How do you know?" Hazel asks, excitement in his voice.

"The mark is dead. Found him this morning. Nasty." I explain, a  shiver going through me with the reminder of how Harold Jenkins died.

"You were the last known unknown in the equation." Five states, sipping his margarita some more.

Hazel chuckles and walks towards the bar where we sit. "Shit. Really?"

"Mm-hmm. And if you're out, then Hellrider ain't riding." mutters Five.

"Oh! All right." exclaims Hazel, sitting beside me and Five and drinking straight from the blender.

After a few seconds of peaceful silence, Hazel breaks it. "So now what?"

"You know, to be honest, I don't know." Five admits, looking towards me with an emotion in his eyes that I can't quite place. Five turns back towards Hazel but grabs my hand as he does. "I've been chasing this thing for so long, I... I never really thought about the day after. I don't know. What about you?"

"I'm done with all this madness. Time to start over." Hazel says confidently. He looks towards me and Five and his gaze lands on our hands where Five is rubbing his thumb over my hand subconsciously. "You should do the same."

"That's easier said than done." I mumble, knowing me and Five would never truly fit back into this world after what we'd been through.

"It doesn't have to be hard." explains Hazel. He turns towards us again. "I mean, think about it like this. If you never time traveled,..."

Hazel pauses and looks at me to know where I went. I shake my head to give him an answer. "Hell."

"Right. Think of it like this," Hazel starts again, going back to his explanation with the new information. "If you never time traveled or went to Hell, you never got caught up with the Handler, what would have happened?"

We sigh at the same time thinking it over. "I guess I would have grown up to be an emotionally stunted man-child like everyone else around here." Five states.

"I would have probably been dead, for real." I state seriously, not looking at either of them.

"Well, there you go." chuckles Hazel. "Now you two can grow up. Good luck."

"Hazel. One more thing before you go." Five asks.

"Shoot." answers Hazel, causing me to giggle.

"Which one of you was the trigger man for Detective Patch?" Five asks, looking towards our still unconscious brother.

"Trigger woman." Me and Hazel say at the same time.

"Huh. That's to bad." Five mutters. I frown at that, same as Hazel. "That gun could have cleared our brother's name."

"Well, today's your lucky day, amigo." Hazel says, reaching into the back of his pants. "Take 'em both."

He lays both guns on the table by Five, before continuing. "I'm done with this life."

With that he takes his leave and walks out the door.

I sit there for a few minutes before asking a burning question of mine. "Why'd we need the guns to clear Diego's name? What'd he do?"

"The cops think he's responsible for Patch's murder." Five sighs.

"But it was a bullet that killed her, not a knife." I mumble.

"That's why we needed the gun, because one of Diego's knives was found next to Patch's body." Five explains.

"Oh, okay." I say, leaning my head on his shoulder and closing my eyes. I feel a kiss to the top of my head.
