TW: Pedophila

Reina's POV

I stood on a pile of broken orange leaves, enjoying the sunlight with my friends at the park, since we were off school this week. Camelia kicked the empty bottle to me, and I kicked it to Gabriela, then stuffed my face with salty pretzel sticks while the crumps fell all over. I smiled brightly at the taste and the laughing around me from the little kids.

"Ooo guys! I have got something for you!" Gabriela announced and kicked it to Camelia. She then ran towards our bags that were lumped together like a mountain of pillows. She grabbed hers and began digging into it.

"What do you have Gabi?" Camelia asked and launched the bottle towards me. She then walked over and hovered over her. I kicked the bottle into my hands and went to stand beside her. I shivered a little as the wind blew briskly around us.

"I... made... us... some friendship bracelets!" She exclaimed, revealing a package and ripped it open. "I asked my tați to get me these key chains before traveling here," she said and dumped the bracelets into her hand. They had Hello Kitty keychains with broken heart pieces and a silver lining.

"Aw, they look so cute!" I said as she handed them to us.

"Da mersi Gabi. They look really nice," Camelia said and slipped the bracelet on.

"How long is your tați staying for?" I asked curiously.

"Only this week. Then he has to go back to Germany for work," Gabriela said and pouted a little. "I don't like it when it's time for him to leave. I wish he could stay for longer," she mumbled and kicked the wilting grass. She then began nibbling on her pigtail. But then smiled. "But we did make a list of all the fun things we're going to do together!"

I then twirled my arm around with the silver shining. I already had a homemade beaded bracelet with a pattern of roses from Mamă's hometown. Now I had this one with a bunny dressed in a pink hood and a little flower.

"I'm never taking this off," I said, smiling proudly.

"Good. I want you guys to be wearing it all the time, or I'll come for you in your sleep," Gabriela said and started giggling.

"Don't worry, we won't forget," Camelia smiled.

After we had walked Gabriela back to her apartment, me and Camelia jumped on the bus.

When I got home, I dumped my bag down and went upstairs to Mamă's room. I hope she won't keep me long because I want to go chill in my room.

I opened her bedroom door as it creaked loudly, and I saw she was turned to her computer. Her bun was facing me and all I could hear was fast typing.

"Hei Mamă," I said quietly as I strolled slowly towards her. I fiddled with my fingers, wondering what she wanted to see me for, as I stood next to her. She then pulled away from her keyboard and turned to me with a smile.

"Hei my dear, did you have fun with your friends?" She asked and kissed my cheek.

"Da Mama. I had lots of fun," I replied. I tried pulling away but she sat me down on her lap.

"I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed your time at the park," she said and hugged me tightly. "I have to talk to you about something. But let me just finish this first and then I'll come get you when I have everything ready. Okay honey?"

"Yes Mamă, that's fine with me," I mumbled and hopped off.

"Also, there's hot chocolate on the stove downstairs that Raiden and I made so you can go and have some," she added before turning back to her two screens.

I sped out of her room and rushed downstairs. I then hopped into the kitchen and grabbed myself some hot chocolate with marshmallows bubbling around. I sipped and giggled lightly as they melted into my mouth. Since I had to wait for Mamă to finish, I decided to go annoy Raiden for a little bit.

I ran back upstairs to his room that had star stickers stuck around the door. I burst through his room. and exclaimed, "Hei Ray!"

He was perched on the edge of his bed, with his headphones on, playing Minecraft on his Switch connected to the TV. I ran up to him and tackled him down. He yelped as I started rubbing his hair and playfully slapping the side of his head.

"Hei! Get off me!" He exclaimed and pushed me off. I rolled backwards and started laughing at him.

"Did you miss me?" I smirked.

"Nu," he said and quickly snatched my bag out of my hand.

"Hei what are you doing?" I shouted and tried to grab it back, but he turned away from me.

"Give it back!"

"Are there any sweets in here?" He asked and started rummaging through my bag. I tried grabbing the strap, but he kept swinging it away from me until my pretzel sticks were pulled out. He quickly started putting them in his mouth and laughing through his loud munches.

"Give me back my snacks!" said, but he just stuck his tongue out at me and plastered his hand over my face while eating. He eventually gave it back when he had enough.

"Mersi," he said, licking his fingers and chuckling at me.

"You're not welcome," I grumbled, and he squeezed my cheeks before going back to his game. I joined him, and we played for a few hours before Mamă came round to us.

"Hei Reina mea. I'm finally free so come follow me downstairs," Mama said. So I hopped off the bed as she left the door open enough for me to go through.

"Ray, I'll come talk to you afterwards," she added while looking at her phone.

"Okay... am I in trouble?" Raiden asked, his head slowly turning to face us.

"Nu my dear. You are not," Mama said, smiling at him and then walking out. I followed her down to the living room. She was fiddling with her tablet while putting her white shirt down over her pajama trousers.

"Here, I've got Jenny on Zoom. You can talk to her while I go get some things," she said, switching to English as she handed me her tablet.

"Okay!" I grabbed the tablet and squealed when I saw Jenny's face on the screen.

"Hi Ms Jenny!" I screamed and plopped down on the couch, tucking my legs in.

"Hi sweetie, how are you?" Her ginger hair rested on her shoulders as she smiled. She held a cup and wore a pink dressing gown.

"I'm good! I'm happy to be talking to you!"

"Aw, I'm too sweetie. It's nice to see you. I'm just going to assist your mom while she talks to you about your period. Is that okay with you?"

"Yep, that's fine!." I grinned at the camera, and Mamă came back, nibbling on a cookie and holding a folder with packages.

"Reina, can you put the tablet down on the table so we can get started?" she said, sitting on the other side of the room.

"Okay!" I bounced off my seat, put it down, and went back. I fiddled with my fingers, waiting patiently while eagerly glancing down at Jenny. But Mamă was frowning, like she wanted this to be over already.

"So Reina, the other day I said that your period was the start of menstruation, so we are going to talk more about that. Are you alright with that?"

"Um, yeah, I'm okay with that." I smiled nervously.

"Okay, good." She held up a diagram with different-colored numbers around apicture in the middle. "So what I have here is a picture of the female reproductive system, where menstruation takes place."

I nodded slowly but shifted uncomfortably, as I glanced at the picture. She started talking about the different parts and the whole process. I started sinking back into the couch, and my face felt hot with embarrassment, so I grabbed a cushion to hide my face. She then gave me some pads and showed me how it's done while I stood like an awkward dummy.

"Anyway, so that's that," she said, and placed her hands on her hips.

"Well done Mona, that was really good," Jenny said. I almost forgot she was still on Zoom.

"Thank you," Mamă said, and looked up at me with the biggest grin I've ever seen. "Do you understand everything now?"

"Yes, thanks Mamă" I said.

"I'm glad to hear that," she said and reached to stroke my cheek. "So the next thing will be getting you a bra for when your breasts start coming out, which is usually caused by the hormones and a protein found in semen. Is that okay with you?"

"Um Mona," Jenny said.

"Yes?"

"May I just say something quick?"

"Yeah sure, go on," Mamă said and turned to the screen.

"Breast development is only caused by oestrogen and progesterone. Those are the main ones and nothing else." Jenny smiled at us and clasped her hands together.

"Really? Okay, that's fine. So Reina ignore the last part of what I said and—" Mamă paused and trailed off. Her eyes narrowed like she'd been hit with something and was about to cry.

"And I think that's all for today," she finished, her voice cracking as she quickly put her papers down. She wiped her nose but couldn't stop sniffing as she grabbed her tablet with shaking hands.

"Thanks Jenny for helping me out," she said quietly, but her voice was tightening.

"Your welcome Mona. I enjoyed seeing both of you today and I'm hoping we can do something like this again, but you know, at a different time." Jenny laughed and Mamă laughed too, but it didn't last for long. She gave the tablet to me, and I noticed her eyes getting watery.

"You can speak to Jenny for a bit. I'm just going to be upstairs," she said and rushed out.

Mona's POV

When I reached my room, I closed the door silently and walked quietly, sliding down the hardwood. The coldness glazing my skin added to the cold realization settling inside me, of being fed that lie...

I can't believe that wasn't true...

How can he lie to me like that?

How could he...

I clenched my hair tightly as another headache started descending into my head. Every pulsating wave made it harder to accept the reality that came with those thoughts.

I started feeling hot tears brewing with fire inside my eyelid. I forced them back, but they escaped; Leaving behind a fiery trial that provided no comfort, just more frustration. I wanted to believe maybe my dad didn't know better. That he just went along with what his friend said, as he took me to his office when I faced excruciating pain during my first period.

I got up and stumbled towards my vanity table, gripping the edges as that memory came flashing back bright as daylight.

Tați led me into his friend's office while I limped along. I bit my lip to stop myself from wailing from the pain that was like fire between my legs. But little tears still rolled down my cheeks.

I looked up and his friend was standing there in his doctor's outfit. He smiled at me, but I flinched and clutched tighter onto my tați while shaking.

"Hello Andrei! It's nice to see you!" His friend said. They pat each other on the back as tați let go of me. But my legs wobbled as I could barely stand with the burning pain. So I fell onto my knees and screamed when my thighs slammed together.

"Sorry Mona that I putted you there," Tati said and picked me up. He gently placed me down on the table but I hissed and cried the cold touch.

"Wow she's gorgeous." The doctor smirked as I watched his eyes run down my body while he stroked his chin.

"Yes, she my pretty little daughter. My sexy little thing and joy." Tati patted my head and kissed my cheek, making me smile a little but I concealed it with my sweater. When my leg suddenly jerked in pain.

"What's the matter with her?" His friend peered close at me but my shoulders hunched.

"Go on Mona, tell him what bothered you since you wanted to come very much." Tati nudged me and took a seat.

I slowly slipped out my face and stared at his friend. He had a creepy smile and his big eyes stared at me like he wanted to eat me. I started shaking and fumbled with my sweater.

"Um... my vagina hurted," I whispered.

"What?" He bent closer, giving me his ear.

"I said my vagina hurted," I whispered again.

"Oh I get it." He nodded and straightened himself. "Hm, you're very quiet, it's so cute."

"Well, my daughter is very shy," Tați said and ruffled my hair. "Honest, I think I went too rough on her, you know what I mean." He winked. "And that's why she's very pained." He laughed awkwardly and turned to me. "Sorry honey, I'll be more careful next time."

He kissed my cheek again and hugged me. But I shifted in pain and turned to the doctor. "Um, can you help please?" I looked up with my eyes watering.

"Well I could give you painkillers, but I'm sure the pain is not that bad," he said, making my face slowly sink.

"But I really need it!" I whined. "I cry when I sit, and stumble everywhere."

"I think you're being a bit too dramatic." The doctor smirked and closed his fingers in my face like I was being mocked. "Just leave it alone and the pain should go away, and you wouldn't have to bother your poor dad again."

"That's what I said,"Tați said, "but she want to come here and I can't say no to my special girl." He smiled and stroked my chin.

"I agree. She really is a special little thing. So cute and so beautiful..." his friend rasped and twirled a piece of my hair around his finger.

"Thanks. What you say Mona when someone think you pretty," Tati said while brushing through my hair.

"Thank you for the compliment," I said while smiling politely.

"Aw, she's a very good girl," the doctor said and his eyes went wide.

"Andrei, can I talk to you quietly for a bit?" He looked across at my dad and pointed to a door behind him.

"Alright. Stay here Mona, won't be long," Tati said, and they disappeared through a door. I saw their shadows talking. I waited but started kicking my legs to distract myself from the pain. I whined and more tears dropped onto the floor.

They finally came back and both had cheery smiles on their faces.

"Okay good news Mona. I've just told your dad to get you painkillers." He smiled.

"Thanks," I said through strained lips.

"And your dad also told me that you just started your period. So that means you've just hit puberty. Is that right?"

I nodded and squeezed my legs because of the tightening pain.

"Okay so you know you're going to be having breasts soon?"

"Yes, dad told me."

"Okay so do you want a little tip to make sure they mature properly?" He bent to my level and talked more softly.

"What?"

"You know that special love juice that your dad always gives to show how much he loves you?"

"Yeah... why?"

"Well what if I told you that it has some protein that will help your breasts grow big and make you more beautiful so you can get more compliments. Now doesn't that sound nice?"

"Um I guess." I shrugged because all I wanted to do was go home now.

"So just be a good girl for your daddy, let him do his thing and help you out and try not to annoy him too much again. Okay Mona?" He smiled and stood up.

"Okay, thanks."

"Thanks Hunter for all your help," Tati said.

"No problem. I enjoyed meeting your daughter."

"See you later," Tati said and grabbed my hand. "Come on Mona, let's get going."

My eyes were now parched and soreness beamed around my lids. They stared back at me through the dusty mirror, as if the memory had drained out the color from my face. I turned away, my arms growing weaker leaning on the vanity table. Eventually, they gave way and I slumped down to the floor, still feeling all of their eyes leering down at me.

How many years did I live with that lie? How did that doctor just lie to me so casually...

I slowly lifted my head, and I stared dead ahead at the portrait of me sitting on my tati's lap, that rested on my lampstand. I looked happy leaning on his chest, kicking my traditional floral skirt with a matching scarf wrapped around my head.

But the more I looked at my tati's wide grin, the more I felt the weight of betrayal.

How could you take me to that horrible doctor?

How can you let him say those things to me?

But a sudden knock thumped into my ears. I went out to open my door and surprisingly, Reina was standing there with my tablet.

"Here Mamă, you forgot this," she said in Romanian and handed it over.

"Thanks honey," I said with a forced smile. I discreetly brushed away the glass shards from my hand onto my bedroom floor.

"And thank you Mamă for explaining everything," she said and hugged me. I was a bit surprised but I hugged her back.

Having my young daughter snuggled safely in my arms, brought me a sense of relief. At least I had a chance to make things better for my children.

I kissed her forehead and hugged her even tighter.
