"Blossom by blossom the spring begins."

Calloused fingers pressed down on the frets, nails pulling gently at the strings, causing a beautiful twang to call out into the night. Conversation faded away as they shifted towards the musician. The fire flickered in the darkness, casting shadows across the small groups' faces. Their gripped mugs of warm cider and fingers tightened on the edges of warm blankets as they shivered in the cold. The people sitting around the campfire all looked expectantly to the young woman holding the guitar.
"Ready for a song?" The girl flicked her brain over her shoulder and rested her elbow on the side of her guitar.
Her friends cheered and nodded eagerly, anxiously awaiting for what she would play.
"Any requests?"
A hand raised, a redhead waved it around wildly. His partner who was cuddled up beside him sent the young man a perturbed look when the ginger almost knocked him over.
The singer laughed and nodded in their direction. "What are you thinking, Finn?"
"Your spring song! The first day of spring break, it seems suiting, eh?" Finn glanced at the rest of the group for confirmation. They all nodded and hummed in agreement.
"Hoping for something fancy?"
"We just want to hear you play, Liv," a boy called, his hood was pulled up, making his large frizzy afro pour from the sides.
Liv smiled before she looked down at her guitar. She slowly began to play the notes, the sounds forming a melody as she cleared her throat to sing.
"Little ducklings swimming in the river,
Tiny children stomping in the rain.
Flowers blooming like a rainbow,
And couples walking down the lane.
Oh, the winter was harsh and cold.
But the grass will always get greener.
Oh, the days may grow old,
But the feeling spring will never go away."
Liv hummed along to the next little tune. Everyone watched enthralled as her fingers moved swiftly along the neck of the guitar, switching from each chord smoothly.
"The birds keep chirping with the morning breeze.
Life suddenly flies by so easily.
You feel like this light is only temporary,
But you hold on to the memories.
Oh, the summer will be hot as can be,
But the light will never die,
Oh, the fall may feel melancholy,
But the feeling of spring will never go away."
Liv sang a single note, drawing it out into a light and airy riff. Her lovely voice bounced along the forest like a flock of birds singing in chorus.
"The snow is slowly melting,
The sun has come right back.
The animals have awoken from their winter nap,
And the feeling of spring has always stayed intact.
Oh, life may lose its meaning to the wearied soul,
But, children's laughter sings out true.
Oh, it may seem to feel like you've lost all control,
But the feeling of spring will never go away."
Liv strummed the last chord slowly, her lips pulling closer together so that the sound only just slipped out.
"The feeling of spring will never go away."
authors note*****
I really wanted to do my own song in one of these and I'm proud that I managed to do one!
This is a song a wrote myself just now so if you search up The Feeling of Spring song, I can guarantee whatever pops up is not mine. 😂
It's not that good but I love dabbling in some songwriting. Doing one about spring was very calming for me! I hope you liked it! 😊
These characters are all random people I just made up now, maybe I'll make another story extending more on them but I'm not sure. 🤷🏻♀️
Have a great day or night!
