Jared had clearly built up a resistance during the few years Seth had been living with him. The dark fae still remembered clearly the New Year's Eve when he had still been working in the Crossroads Inn and had knocked the vampire out with just a taste of his blood. It had been his own fault too, making all that ruckus about none of their drinks being "exquisite" enough.
The dark brown eyes were glazed over and the hair of same color was damp with sweat – and vampires didn't usually sweat. His skin was flushed instead of the usual paleness, making Jared's heritage as Middle Eastern more obvious than his façade as a British gentleman. But he was kind of cute like this, Seth thought with amusement.
He ran one hand through his wild, deep purple hair and stopped for a moment to look at the dusky tone of his own skin. Not like humans, more like pure dark gray of twilight. He was an unseelie through and through and never bothered to even try to mix in with mortals. And thanks to Jared's wealth and obsession with the taste of his blood, he didn't need to mix with non-humans either unless he wanted to.
The golden pendant the vampire had brought as a gift this time was really marvelous. Seth lazily picked it up from next to him on the large bed. Clothes, jewelry, fine food and drink...he could have it all without lifting a finger. Jared was such a pushover. He had heard that vampires could charm any mortals – and some supernaturals, but dark fae were completely immune – with the power in their blood, but he had a hard time imagining this guy doing anything of the sort.
Jared stirred, and before Seth could decide to leave his bed, he...glomped him. Just like that, throwing his entire weight on the considerably smaller (only five feet tall) fae. "Love you..." he muttered, barely coherent.
Seth rolled his eyes and didn't move. "Yeah, yeah...You're drunk."
He could have kicked the vampire out of the bed.Easily. But he didn't see any reason to bother. It felt kind of...nice.
