- chapter 25 -
It wasn't like Changbin and Jisung had never seen him half-naked before, it's just that more than one of Hyunjin's hickeys currently adorned his neck and shoulders. And he really didn't want to have to explain to them where he got those from.
"Hey, you okay, Lix?" He heard Jisung's voice behind him. "Hyune didn't tell you you'd be here, too," Changbin added - with his mouth most likely stuffed.
"Yeah, yeah. Haha - I'm fine." The silver-haired turned back around - the smaller towel now arranged so that it covered most of his upper torso. "I just wasn't expecting you guys," he added somewhat lamely, knowing perfectly well that this wasn't even his apartment. His forced smile had to look more than fake.
He looked at Hyunjin, who had just emerged from some corner of the apartment and now - as if it were a given - sat down with the other two without comment. In front of himself, he placed a cereal bowl - as it was already in front of the other two - and pushed another one towards Felix.
His eyebrow twitched as he looked incredulously at the cornflakes floating in milk. Why the hell hadn't Hyunjin told him that Jisung and Changbin were coming over?
But the blond only stared at him and then smirked unconcernedly - something about Felix's half-naked sight must have satisfied him quite obviously.
Examining, Jisung looked back and forth between the two of them. As if he was not quite sure what was going on, but having a certain suspicion.
But fortunately, it looked like Hyunjin had taken the precaution of picking up their clothes from the night before and stacking them neatly on the small bench in the hallway. He just really hoped they hadn't peeked into Hyunjin's room. Because the door was wide open and gave even from the living room a view of the bed. From which condition you could probably tell - from meters away - that two people had been sleeping in it, and that they'd been doing more than one kind of sleeping.
"Man, you guys left the club so fast last night. Was there something wrong? You didn't even answer your phone," Jisung broke the silence as soon as it fell upon them.
Hyunjin still didn't say anything, just ran a finger over his lips - his eyes still dreamily focused on Felix.
"Oh... well." Felix tried to come up with an excuse that could plausibly explain Hyunjin's behavior. Because he wasn't really sure himself yet if he had understood why Hyunjin had been so angry about that random guy. "Erm, Hyunjin must have happened to see me dancing at the club when suddenly some guy started fondling me. Only I was too drunk to even notice what he or I was actually doing."
"What?!" the brown-haired and black-haired yelled at the same time. Their expressions were somewhere between outrage and concern as Changbin slammed his hand down on the countertop, "Oh Fuck, are you okay?" "Are you sure he didn't do something before?" asked Jisung concerned.
Felix gave them a reassuring smile: "No, everything's fine. Fortunately, he saved me in time before anything could happen. But that's just why he took me outside so quickly. Right, Hyune?"
But the latter's conspicuous stare did not lessen, nor did the taller man respond in any way. Felix cleared his throat - suddenly aware of his half-nakedness again, crossing his arms protectively: "Hyunjin?"
"Huh? Yeah... " The blond ran his hands through his hair, and his eyes shifted back to the other two. "That fucker seemed like he was harassing Felix. And it didn't look like Lix was comfortable with him, so I got him out of there as fast as possible and brought him here to sober up," he repeated Felix's apology almost perfectly - or was it actually the truth? Felix had no clue.
"Oh man, I just wish you would have sent me a message or something - I was worried sick. But for now, the most important thing is that you're alright, Lix. - Besides, Jieun already thought you didn't like her, Hyune."
Hyunjin's eyes flicked back to Felix for a moment. But he quickly avoided his gaze and disappeared into the bedroom. In the end, that was still Hyunjin's business and not his problem - plus, he quickly wanted to put something on before the other two spotted the striking dark spots on his skin.
"Oh, well...", the blond shrugged blankly.
"I've met her at a party before. She's quite your type, isn't she? And on top of that, she's even in some art major. That's kinda a bonus, right?" agreed Changbin, nodding.
"I dunno...", Hyunjin muttered, focused on playing with the spoon between his fingers.
At the same time, Felix came out of the room with fresh clothes - from Hyunjin's closet - and continued heading to the bathroom to change. But he left the door open a crack because he wasn't quite as uninterested in the whole thing as he was trying to pretend.
"So, you really don't like Jieun? I mean, you barely know her - you've hardly spoken to her at all."
The silver-haired slowed down in putting on the T-shirt as he waited for Hyunjin's response. Jisung spoke loudly and even from a distance he could understand him quite well, but Hyunjin's voice was lower. "It's not that... she seems great."
"Then what is it, dude?" pried Changbin on, the same curiosity resonating in his voice that had spread through Felix.
The latter leaned forward further, almost pushing his ear through the crack in the door.
"I already have someone I like."
