- chapter 14 -

Their conversations - little by little - changed from consolation patches and heartbreak to normal conversations and they really could talk for hours and hours. For the most part - and they knew this already - they had a similar, if not the same, view of things.

But by far not only profound, serious topics eluded them.

Sometimes they sat under the starry sky and talked about possible aliens, zodiac signs, conspiracy theories and things they had already forgotten the next day - Felix also trickled out one such night the story of when and how Hyunjin had got his navel pierced.

And Hyunjin, in turn, had launched one of his rants about Felix's smoking when he had lit a cigarette at dawn as they walked to college together - an all-night K-drama marathon behind them that hadn't let them sleep a wink.

Rarely, they even ate out together. What bugged Felix about it, though, was that Hyunjin usually insisted on paying and got his way, too. Even though he could just as easily cover the cost. Certainly, he didn't have the same access to money that the taller one had simply given from his parents, but with his job at the dance studio, he earned more than enough on the side.

However, Hyunjin was then also so to drag him to places, which would have been definitely not Felix's choice - not from the food but the budget.

So they had also suddenly showed up one night in front of an expensive Chinese restaurant - after they had actually already stuffed themselves with popcorn and nachos during a previous visit to the cinema - at which the silver-haireds mouth remained open.

"Hyunjin... there's no way we can get in there. Look at us!" he'd laughed out, protesting but serious.

They had been out in normal clothes, each a pair of everyday jeans and a hoodie. On top of Felix's tousled hair - after an unplanned make-out session in the sparsely filled cinema - was also perched Hyunjin's base cap. In comparison, through the large glass windows, people in evening dress could be made out in the festive ambiance.

"Nonsense!" Hyunjin had laughed. An amused and lively twinkle in his eyes as he pulled Felix into the sumptuous restaurant with him and ordered a table for two. Though under the questioning gaze of the receptionist, whom Hyunjin had cheekily assured he could afford it - whereupon Felix would normally have wanted to sink into the floor in shame, he had to hold himself together not to laugh out loud.

"You can't talk to them like that," he had breathed, chuckling as they followed the waiter to their table.

"Yes, I can, as you can see," the other had answered with a grin and had come so close to the silver-haired out of habit that the other guests were already giving them inquiring and curious looks - as if they weren't already drawing enough attention to themselves through their clothing - which is why he then put some distance between them.

Felix didn't know why, but it felt excitingly forbidden to sit in the golden, red velvet-covered chairs by the huge windows. To his left, the ambiance that was dazzling - a huge koi pond in the middle of the magnificent dining room - and to his right, a beautiful view of the Seoul skyline at night.

"The view is breathtakingly beautiful," murmured Felix with a dreamy look, and had there been no other guests in the restaurant, at least not of this class, he would have pulled out his cell phone and taken thousands of photos.

"Not as beautiful as you, though."
