- chapter 13 -

When Felix pushed open the glass door to the dance studio, the familiar smell of parquet and elastic hit his nose - soft upbeat music resounded from one of the rooms in the back.

The entrance area was half-dark and empty, but he knew the place well enough to be able to find his way around even in the pitch dark. He changed his shoes and put his stuff in his locker before going to the only lit dance room.

There, a small group of the dance trainers he worked with - 2 guys and 2 girls, including Yoonji - were already sitting on the floor with notepads around them. He greeted them with a grin and got back an equally beaming greeting from all of them.

The hours flew by faster than Felix really noticed. Two new short choreos had been completed and the plan for the classes coordinated as the group began to separate again. He went with the other boys first - as the girls were still securing and locking everything. They talked and laughed friskily before parting ways at the intersection in front of the building.

Felix took a deep breath and let the pleasant night air flow into his lungs, as by now the sun had long set, but it was still much earlier than the silver-haired would have thought. With a look at his cell phone - on which 11 pm was brightly displayed - he considered whether it would still be worthwhile to go to the others to Hongdae.

Just as he was about to call Hyunjin to see if they were still in Hongdae, he heard someone call his name.

Somewhat confused - whether he had only imagined it - he turned in the according to direction.

Among the other passerby, he could see Yoonji waving at him, grinning broadly - with her high pig-tail swaying to the beat as she hurried toward him. Smiling, he returned the gesture.

"Well!" she eventually stood before him. "You were gone so fast before, I couldn't even invite you for a smoke - though you promised last time."

Felix grinned down at her and put his cell phone away. "Then let me invite you for a coffee. It's more comfortable than smoking like creeps at some dark corner."

So instead of going to Hongdae, he and Yoonji sat down at one of the nearby pretty cafes - where they had been several times - and ordered coffee. They sat in the outdoor area, right by the pedestrian zone, and had a good view of the colorful streets.

They chatted comfortably and told each other about their college life and dance improvements. Sipping coffee, Yoonji had taken off her shoes and was now sitting cross-legged in a wicker chair facing behind the table Felix.

"...and so Jimin is now accepted as Backup Dancer and not me... But well I'm not a boy..." rolling her eyes, she slammed her hand down on the table - a devilish grin spread across her face and she laughed wickedly. "But next time - yes, next time! I'm gonna kick everyone's ass, yes, I'm gonna dance them into the ground!"

Felix just grinned softly at that - Yoonji had always been more tomboyish. After all, he had known her since his family had moved to Korea - because, she was the daughter of his mother's best friend.

He chuckled lightly, whereupon she fell silent but grinning and relaxed back into her chair. "What is it?"

The silver-haired shook his head with a smirk. "Nothing. I'm just sure you'll make it next time. Really, your movements are light and fluid, you've already improved a lot since the last audition. And with this lightness in your dance style, I'm sure you can make it to the top. Seriously, you have the potential for a professional career, I know that, Yoonji."

The brown-haired girl blinked at him in astonishment and a pink haze settled over her cheeks as she started laughing out loud. " You actually managed to make me blush, huh? Lixie, I'll get you for this," she cracked her fingers and reached over to him.

Felix already knew what was coming - even though his hair was just perfect today - but before he could even defend his hair, Yoonji stopped and stared wide-eyed at something above him.

Felix then put his head back and looked up not into the starry sky as he had expected, but directly into the face of an all-too-familiar blond.

"Hyune?"

The taller one propped his hands on the back of Felix's chair and looked down at him with a smile - there was something indefinable in his gaze, but that might also be because Felix was looking at him sort of upside down.

"Why are you here?" Felix asked, still in the strange position. Hyunjin shrugged, "Chan surprisingly joined us in Hongdae, but since he had to finish something tonight we all left when he had to go."

The silver-haired nodded, which turned out to be a bit difficult, which is why he turned to him properly in the end. "Still doesn't explain why you're here, though," Felix inquired.

But he couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from already pulling upwards, because he had a faint suspicion why he was here - so that his heart pumped his blood faster through his veins, a warm, tingling feeling trailed over his skin, which was also reflected in his sparkling eyes.

Hyunjin had to grin and dropped into the chair next to him. " Ah, you got me there. I was going to pick you up but I see I must have just walked into a date." - he didn't really look guilty though, despite the wrong guess, as he moved the chair closer to Felix and made himself comfortable, grinning undisturbed in Yoonji's face.

"Oh, no, no. You're completely wrong, don't worry, nothing is going on. Besides, he's gay.", Yoonji vehemently shook her hands - who had been quietly observing the scene until then.

"Hyunjin this is Yoonji - one of my dance partners and good friend - Yoonji this is Hyunjin - my...", Felix wanted to introduce the two, but was stalled for a millisecond - what actually was Hyunjin for him? - "... one of my best friends," he finally finished with a smile.

"And really quite a clever solution to throwing my sexuality at a potential stranger."Yoonji just stuck his tongue out at him. "When you said his name, I already knew it wasn't a stranger. But I had more of a hunch that he might be your boyfriend."

Felix's eyes widened in disbelief and he laughed awkwardly as he cast a quick sideways glance at Hyunjin - who, unconcerned by this, ran his fingers over his lower lip. "No, he's not really- really not," the silver-haired muddled, wanting to sink into the floor in shame - feeling his cheeks grow warm, almost burning.

"Too bad. I sense certain chemistry between you two," she wasn't really bothered by it, "Do you have someone else then?"

"Yoonji...."

However, Hyunjin laughed out, "No, but I'm not looking for someone either."

With that, the atmosphere between them relaxed and the three of them chatted for a while before Yoonji went one way and Felix and Hyunjin went the other. The two continued to chat light-heartedly for the rest of the way together before they also parted ways.

For a long time, Felix looked after the bus, in which the blond had boarded - even when it was no longer to be seen - and slowly sank into thought.

Had Yoonji just said that as a joke or had she actually assumed that they were together?

Something welled up inside him at this thought - it was warm, almost burning, and somehow strange - and he wanted to get rid of it immediately.

I think this is the longest I've written so far on a chapter because I've changed it a thousand times. Really, Yoonji had so many different personalities, and the story in between easily had 10 alternatives to the current variant. But well, I want to spare both of them some drama for now, hehe <3

Just fits well to the story (even if not exactly to this chapter). Unfortunately, I don't know the artist and the twitteracc doesn't seem to exist anymore. If you know the artist's name or active acc, let me know. <3
