- chapter 12 -
Here is the thing ... they never talked about it.
Not after the first time, not after the second and after that Felix wondered if they even really needed to talk about it at all. They should have, he knew that, but everything was going great without, well, pinpointing the elephant in the room. Because what should he say, they had fucking good chemistry - literally. The sex with Hyunjin was great, truth to be told, it was amazing. So why would he bring it up when neither of them had a problem with it?
So more often the days Hyunjin invited him ended with them in bed together - sweaty, moaning, lost in the moment and each other's arms and gazes.
Stranger than the whole thing itself was actually how comfortable Felix felt with it. Perhaps even stranger for him was that they still hung out together as usual - apart from the times when they were with the other guys anyway. Because if they didn't even talk about it themselves, they obviously hadn't said a word about it to the others.
They spent more time together even than they had as best friends in high school - at least that's how it seemed to Felix.
Sometimes the silver-haired would go to Hyunjin's apartment after dance practice and they would play video games until late in the morning.
Sometimes they both had time off and went shopping for clothes or to dog cafes together.
Sometimes Felix would also do his work in a quiet corner of the college atelier while Hyunjin was there working on an art project for his major.
So if possible, he would also sometimes drop the blond-haired off at the atelier and pick him up there again, after his lectures to leave the college together.
With a half-empty can of Coke in one hand and a full one for Hyunjin in the other, he entered once again the familiar studio after one of his evening lectures.
The blond was still sitting in front of his canvas when the orange sunset already painted itself in the clear sky.
Felix had been watching him for some time earlier - since he had taken him to the atelier - and his handling of colors today seemed much more aggressive than usual.
The angelic woman who had been emblazoned on the white support as a sketch just a few hours before was hardly recognizable. Red and black overlapped in the most diverse hues - she resembled a demon more than the purity depicted before.
"Hey, I brought you something to drink," he tapped on the nearby table so as not to startle Hyunjin, who nevertheless startled out of his thoughts.
"Thank you, I was thinking about getting something to drink earlier.", he smiled gratefully at him as he opened the can handed to him and immediately took a few big gulps of the cold drink.
"No problem. Are you done with the painting?" the Australian asked as he stood behind Hyunjin and now looked at the artwork more closely.
"I don't know yet... Something bothers me. It seemed almost too harsh and rough, although that was actually my intention. At least I think so, because my basic motive was actually something completely different... But well, it just carried me away while painting," the other replied, swinging his Coke can in his hand.
After asking the smaller if he wanted to know - he agreed with a nod - he started to explain his painting technique and the used color scheme to Felix. Whereupon the latter listened to him closely - although he didn't have the faintest idea of even half of it, he still could have continued to listen to Hyunjin for hours, even if he had started to talk gibberish.
"Hmm. You seem to be working very emotionally today," Felix had let slip into their conversation as he tried to tie Hyunjins hair into a braid. He had already noticed the blond's suppressed anger when he had first met him the day - it sounded stupid but a black aura had almost surrounded him.
"Did something happen?" he continued, tucking another strand of hair behind Hyunjin's ear and tying it into the braid.
"Tsk. My dad happened. He intercepted me last night and said he was going to give me hell if I didn't show up with a girl next time. At least for the press... But since I'm bi, that shouldn't be a problem if I want to keep my place at university.", he pressed his brush, which he had previously swung lightly over the canvas, against it with force.
Felix sighed with compassion. Distressed, he looked at Hyunjin's slumped presence on the stool in front of him - sometimes forgetting the pressures on the Korean as the only child of a big CEO - and just hugged him. His arms rested loosely around his neck as he gently rested his head on top of Hyunjin's.
The taller one leaned back into the comforting touch, breathing a sigh of relief, closing his eyes, and lingering in the moment. No words were needed, this gesture alone made the tension fall away from him somewhat - Felix's closeness and warmth soothed him.
However, a sudden bang, followed by a loud gush of curses, soon had them driving away from each other, startled. Not a second later, Sungmin limped into the studio, his face grimaced in pain as he dropped into the nearest chair. "I knew I'd find you here."
"Oh God, are you okay? Did something happen to you?" "Yeah, yeah, I think I'm fine... I mean I hope I'm okay." he grumbled through gritted teeth as he pulled the shoe off his foot and inspected it frowning until he breathed a sigh of relief, "At least there's no blood. But seriously? - Who left this stupid trolley in the middle of the hallway?"
"Oh.", Hyunjin guiltily let out, "You mean the one with the paint?" - "Yes, that one!" - "I put that one there, sorry." he scratched the back of his neck, laughing sheepishly.
But Sungmin just grinned and waved off the situation as he put his shoe back on. "Oh, never mind, I could have opened my eyes. Anyway, I wanted to ask if you had time to go to Hongdae right away? Jeongin and I are meeting Changbin there."
"Um, yeah. I'd be happy to come along. ", Hyunjin agreed, dropping the brush carelessly into the water cup, "I'm done here today anyway."
"I'm sorry I have to pass, I'm meeting with Yoonji and the others later to go over some upcoming dance routines and choreos for the kids' class," Felix sighed, shrugging his shoulders regretfully.
"Oh, what a bummer, but it's nice that it's at least working out for you, Hyune. Changbin was already getting on my nerves to finally get to see you again." "I've already noticed that in the group chat."
Felix's mobile rang and pulled away from the two chattering boys back into the hallway. On the other end of the line was Yoonji, who would move up their meeting if he had time right now, so the silver-haired hastily said goodbye to Hyunjin and Sungmin and headed for the dance studio.
