They say you should cherish it

Enjoy it

Because it won’t last forever

Because that’s all it will ever be

One blink, one breath

Can take it away

Never to be seen again

But I beg to differ

Every day I live in these moments

In these moments where I hold you in my arms

In these moments where I would hear you laugh

In these moments where I would hold your hand

Feel your breath upon my neck

Feel your caress against my cheek

And feel your lips against mine

But that’s all it will ever be

A moment

A moment into the past

And nothing in reality

I regret everything I’ve done

Ever since I saw you on that bed

Your life being sucked away

Your hands that used to hold me

They’ve gone so cold

So limp

I wish I could have done something

But instead I did nothing

Every day I wish

Every day I long

For you

And you only

Each time I look back into these memories

They call me crazy

But I don’t care

As long as I’m with you

Even if they’ll only be in moments like these
