The Roommate.

All done.

Kyo's eyes observing the fairy lights hanging above her new bed with a content smile, she had spent all morning setting up the room and putting the pieces of furniture together, Mihawk had been so kind to give her the day off whilst she gets settled - meaning poor Drake will be lumbered with all the work, unless somebody comes in and wishes to make a deal with the Dracule's personally.

But that shouldn't be an issue; Katakuri hasn't gotten back to her about the cigar case yet and Teach has apparently gone away on another expedition, Jinbei is the only other person who deals to them but he usually contacts Mihawk directly.

Which leaves her to decorate in peace.

She had found a box while packing containing a polaroid camera that she had found during college, the film only had space for two more photos if she remembers correctly, two spaces that were taken up by Shanks and Ace.

When she showed it to her freckled friend, he used it to take a selfie with her, mainly checking whether or not it worked but she admittedly quite liked the photo and kept it. Upon bringing it home and showing it to Shanks, who had invited himself round for a drink that day, he then mimicked Ace's action and took a selfie with Mihawk, the golden-eyed raven looking quite disgruntled in the photo while Shanks beams, she found herself liking that image also.

So naturally when she thought her new walls were still rather bland, even with the new colour and fairy lights, she stuck the polaroids to it also. Accompanied by a photo of the Eifel Tower, it wasn't her photograph and she was originally planning to throw it away but she couldn't bring herself to, her father gifted it to her when she was young upon his return from France. It was the first time he had left her in the castle alone, in a weird way, the picture comforted her.

Her gaze shifting down to the camera in her hands as she pouts to herself thoughtfully, it would certainly be nice to get some more photos stuck to the wall, more memories. And the camera is still in good condition, all she needs is a new film for it.

A small hum drifting from her lips as her brows lightly knit together, she isn't exactly the type of person to take selfies and she has always found photographers rather annoying, there's always a bunch of them in the museum and more often than not, they get in the way.

However, she cannot deny that this wall would look better with more photos, it might even give her some much-needed serotonin.

A sudden thud placing her thoughts on hold as she glances toward her bedroom door, that's something else she'll need to get used to though, living in an apartment with a roommate isn't as quiet as the castle.

Setting the camera down inside the small box, she makes her way out into the main room, her orbs landing upon a male with green, wild hair and a few interesting piercings as well as a tattoo beside his eye.

Who...?

Considering she didn't hear him bash the door down and that he acts rather indifferent to her presence, she would assume he's not a threat, he's possibly even a friend of Lotte's.

The brunette entering as this thought comes to mind, almost as if she was confirming it herself.

"Thanks, Barto. I appreciate this." The girl smiles while lowering another box, one that she had bought in this time labelled 'clothes', it would seem she has finally decided to make her presence here more permanent.

The green-haired male almost looking like a puppy as he beams at the brunette. "Not at all, Lotte~! if you ever need anything from me, just let me know, I'll always be happy to assist~!"

Kyo wonders for a moment if he's some kind of employee for her roommate, perhaps even a bodyguard of sorts, but considering how he's dressed rather punky and doesn't address her in a more formal manner, she assumes not.

Bodyguards usually call their employer by their last name, if I'm not mistaken...

"Oh, this is my roommate!" The brunette politely chimes, gesturing toward the redhead and immediately causing her to stiffen. She has been introduced to people before at events and when Ace made her meet his siblings but she has never really enjoyed it, only offering a very awkward wave of her hand.

"...Hi."

"Eh, I don't care about her." The greenette honestly grumbles, merely waving his hand toward the girl dismissively while his red orbs stay solely focused on the brunette stood beside him. "Just let me know if you wanna drink or any help unpacking!"

Well, he is quite rude but interesting, nonetheless.

Lotte pouting as she swats the male's arm, a frown of disapproval etching into her features as she rests her hands on her hips. "Don't be so mean to my roommate after I've just invited you inside, it makes a bad impression on me!"

So this must be the 'kind, respectable' friend she mentioned during the interview.

The realization bringing a small smirk to Kyo's lips as the greenette apologizes for his bad behaviour, she notices how he doesn't seem at all genuine but it doesn't phase her, this atmosphere is already something entirely different from what she's used to.

But that isn't exactly a bad thing.

Her eyes following the male as he leaves before they drift back to Lotte, studying her eyes and the nervous smile decorating the brunette's face. "Sorry about him, he's a total softie deep down. He just doesn't know you, that's all."

She thinks I'm judging her...?

"He's only nice to his friends, I can respect that." In fact she can relate to it, more often than not.

It would seem Lotte has decided against the superhero shirt today, her clothing seemingly more formal if anything, as if she had just come out of work.

That or her shift hasn't begun yet, though the redhead figures that's unlikely, not many would move home just before their shift starts.

Would they?

It's only when the brunette frowns that she realizes she has been staring, an old habit and one that has no intention of dying apparently, silently rattling her brain for something to say as she heads toward the kitchen area.

"So your friend is named Barto, is he?" In a way, he almost reminds her of Ace.

"Bartolomeo, yeah. We call him Barto or Bart for short."

"I see. Very kind and respectable too, by the seems."

She intends on making friends with this girl, sure, but that doesn't mean she'll miss the opportunity to tease her a little. She'd like to find out if she has the same temperament as her cousin, after all.
