The Lifeline.

Kyo's hands still tremble against the steering wheel as she drives, her eyes never once leaving the road ahead as she essentially crawls along in her car, too petrified to go any quicker and taking zero notice of the traffic she's holding up behind her.

She can still hear her heart thumping rapidly inside her chest.

"Can we play shome musi--"

"I thought I made myself abundantly clear when I said that I do not wish to hear your voice for the rest of the day." Her words are strangely calm despite their cruelty, her tone harbouring the smallest of quivers, not that the brunette doesn't seem to mind - he doesn't even seem to care about the fact that his hands are currently bound behind his back.

Ms. Kokoro was kind enough to let the redhead borrow some rope after the girl's near-death experience and yes, she put that rope to good use, now the fool can't touch anything and therefore, cannot traumatize her any further.

"Pleeeash, it might make ya happeh--"

"Be quiet." Shockingly, her request is accepted and the brunette falls silent, still shifting in his seat but there's little he can do to hinder his friend any further - if one could even label her as such a relation in this moment, a large part of her hates him right now.

Pulling up outside Newgate's house, she notices Sabo stood outside with his arms folded and a nonchalant expression on his face; she had called him before leaving the train station to let him know that she had found his brother, she didn't mention the train incident but the blonde still guessed something was wrong, though she refused to open up to him since she just wanted to hurry up and bring his pain-in-the-ass brother home by that point.

The middle child rushing toward the car once it's stopped and opening the passenger-side door for his brother, a smile on his face that immediately fades when he sees that his brother is tied up. "What happened to you?" His voice still mildly cheerful although laced with a hint of concern whilst he unfastens his brother's belt, helping the brunette out of the car.

"I wash almost hit by a meteor~! It wus bootifool~!" His slurred remark making the blonde chuckle whilst Kyo merely shoots him a subtle glare, clearly in his warped vision, things are certainly not what they seem.

"You wanna come in for a drink?" Sabo soon asks the girl although she shakes her head, the emotion in her eyes still numb as she meets his gaze.

"You should put your brother to bed, I suspect he was drugged last night." She doesn't miss how the blonde frowns at that, of course he would after all, it's a wide assumption to make. However Kyo decides against addressing it, simply starting the engine once again. "I'd advise against drinking with strangers in future."

"I see. Are you okay?" The boy cheekily smirking with that question, his eyes studying her as she puts the car into reverse but not yet moving, seemingly waiting for him to step back before doing so.

"I have a headache, it has been a long day." Her short response seems to dissatisfy the blonde briefly but he soon shrugs it off, he's quite used to her being reserved from time to time, finally stepping back from her car and allowing her move whilst he helps his older brother inside their home.

Kyo had intended to go home herself after dropping off Thatch but after circling the city a couple of times, she soon finds herself pulled up into a certain carpark, turning off the engine and staring at the apartment building in front of her for a few minutes.

It's an odd feeling but after today's events she finds herself yearning for a certain surgeon's presence, though now that she's here she wants to reason with herself, the man is probably busy, he doesn't need her getting in his way.

Though as she reaches for the keys once again, she hesitates.

Just say hi to him and leave.

She isn't sure what the hell is possessing her to do this but she does indeed take her keys out of the ignition, stepping out of the car and closing the door behind her before locking the vehicle and reluctantly making her way toward the complex.

Her eyes filled with anxiety as she stops at the buzzer, staring at each of the labelled buttons as a frown slowly etches itself into her features, she can't quite recall if Law's apartment was number 3 or 5, she merely glanced at the number on his door when she was last here but foolishly didn't take too much notice.

I think 5 was opposite him...or was it 3 that was opposite?

As luck would have it, the doors swing open beside her regardless, two men exiting the complex and politely deciding to stop and hold the door open for her; one wearing a hat with the word 'Penguin' written across it while the other wears one that resembles a narwhale.

"Oh? Thank you." She calmly mutters upon quickly entering the building, earning a flustered smile from the boys as she passes, perhaps if she wasn't in such a rush to get out of their way and wasn't thinking too hard on the number for Law's apartment as well as the events that had taken place earlier, she might have thought more on their appearances, especially their hats.

A penguin and a narwhale, for some reason that almost seems familiar to her.

She at least knows where to go from here; the girl retracing the steps she took last time she was here, heading up the stairs and around the corner, soon stopping outside of his door and making sure to read the number this time before she knocks.

Number 3.

She hears Bepo barking as her knuckles thud against the wood, apart of her is just as eager to see the dog as she is to see Trafalgar, a small smile tugging on her lips as she recalls the pooch's happy little face when the pair took him out for a walk.

She'll have to see if Law would like to do that again soon.

The door finally opening to reveal the surgeon, his dark brows raising slightly as his eyes land on her own. "Kyo-ya?" Clearly he wasn't expecting to see her here, which would make sense since she didn't exactly inform him about her little visit and she's inside the complex without being buzzed in, one might find that odd.

Though something about his appearance does ease her somewhat; he isn't wearing his hat so she's blessed by the sight of his messy hair, he's also wearing a black button-up shirt but it would seem that he had no intention of fastening the buttons around his chest area, partially showing off the beautiful tattoo adorning his chest.

Despite feeling a new sense of calm in his presence, she still can't find her words, she feels it would be rather dramatic to tell him how she almost got hit by a train today and she doesn't necessarily know what else to say.

Though the doctor seems to catch onto something all by himself.

His brows knitting as he closely observes her face, his hands rising to cup her cheeks and gently tilting her head up a little to get a better look at her features whilst he speaks in a gentle tone. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost?"

Yeah, I almost became one.

Though she opts against sarcasm for this moment, instead just stepping into his embrace. His hands releasing her as she buries her face into his exposed chest and her arms entwining his waist, fingers lightly gripping onto his shirt, an affection that Law mirrors although he's slightly stiffer than her, clearly still wondering what on earth has gotten her into such a state.

In truth she's not too sure either, something about the memory of that train just makes her want him but she hasn't a clue as to why, she wouldn't know how to explain herself even if she tried.

"Come inside, Kyo-ya. You're freezing."

I've never been so relieved to hear that nickname.
