The First Morning Together.
He's so warm...
She can just barely hear his soft snores, her head laid against his chest and a small smile playing on her lips as his pecs rise before softly falling with each breath he takes, his arm draped sluggishly across her shoulders and holding her in place as his fingers lightly twitch against her skin.
It would seem he's having a dream of sorts.
She wouldn't even remember the dream she had last night, she slept like the dead.
It was hard to drift off at first since she was very conscious of her period as well as his hand on her hip and the fact that his pyjama shirt shows off a bit of his chest, her mouth was mere centimetres away from the valley of his pecs, it was oddly nerve-wracking.
She can't even begin to explain why, she doesn't know herself, human anatomy doesn't usually affect her. In fact Ace spends most of his time walking around shirtless and she has never looked twice, although she doesn't cuddle with the freckled raven, perhaps that's the difference.
A small huff from Law's lips immediately snapping her out of her thoughts, her brown orbs inquisitively glancing up at the doctor's face but it doesn't seem like he has awoken yet, the raven's brows knitting in his sleep as his teeth clench, his fingers rapidly twitching against her shoulder as sweat coats his face.
What's wrong with him?
"...Law?" It's probably the first time she has called him by his first name, her voice soft as she stares at him uncertainly, she has never experienced somebody have a nightmare before, she's no entirely sure what to do. Her hands carefully cupping his face as she sits up in the bed, her thumb delicately brushing his cheekbone as she attempts to comfort him with words, though on the inside she's just as panicked as he is. "It's okay, you're okay...can you hear me, Law? Everything is going to be alright..."
What the hell is going on?
The man jolting a little as his tortured eyes abruptly snap open, a sharp gasp erupting from his throat as he struggles to catch his breath, realization seeming to flicker in his orbs before his body eases; his chest still heaving as he brings his palm to his sweaty face, roughly rubbing his eyes as Kyo releases him.
She can tell that it might be best to just let him regain his composure, her worried irises watching as he presses his hand to his forehead, his breathing gradually beginning to steady while she hesitantly touches his shoulder in a subtle show of support.
"Are you okay?" A small grimace immediately etching into her features at the stupid question, of course he isn't okay. "What happened?" Another stupid question in hindsight, the redhead practically kicking herself in her mind as she carefully wraps her arm around the doctor, apart her is expecting him to pull away but she still tries to offer comfort at least.
He doesn't answer either inquiry and she feels him tense at her touch but at least he doesn't reject it, her eyes studying his every detail, especially how his dark locks stick to his damp forehead, her free hand gently sweeping his hair aside before pulling him loosely into her chest.
Just be quiet and hug him, that may be best.
Much to her surprise he leans into her embrace, his arms tightly enveloping her as he sighs to himself, she can sense that he's a little embarrassed by his more vulnerable state but at least he's seemingly calming down now.
That's all she really cares about.
Her fingers making their way through his locks as she presses a kiss to the top of his head, a smile gradually beginning to grace her features when she feels his warm little breaths against her bust, the soft sensation has a tendency to tickle a bit.
"Did I wake you?" The surgeon finally asks with a sleepy tone, unwittingly making her smile grow somewhat.
"No, I was already awake." Her eyes focused solely on her fingers as she twirls his dark strands around them, the action somehow brings a little comfort to her and judging by how Trafalgar hasn't moved a muscle since she started, one might assume he feels similarly. "Do you often have bad dreams?"
"No..." There's a slight hesitance in his answer, as if he's not being entirely honest but considering how ashamed he seemed prior, maybe she should have expected that. "Well, sometimes, but I haven't had them in a while."
Well, that part sounded genuine.
"Why are you so reluctant?" Her query finally causing him to look up from her chest, his brows lightly furrowed as his mouth falls marginally ajar, though a smirk soon begins to dominate his features when she continues. "Do you really believe I'd think any different of you?"
"Almost read me like a book...you're quite observant, Kyo-ya." His tone a mere murmur as he leans in to capture her lips, the redhead initially kissing him back before she suddenly pouts against his mouth, harshly pushing him away with her palm.
"Don't change the subject, Trafalgar!" Her indecisiveness just seems to make him snicker though, naturally.
"Sorry." The sarcasm lacing his voice as well as the smirk still playing on his lips would be enough to make it abundantly clear that he isn't sorry at all, the doctor gently cupping her cheek as his golden eyes bore into her own, his forehead resting against hers tenderly as his expression gradually becomes more serious. "I...lost my parents and little sister in a fire, I was the only survivor so sometimes...I still dream about it."
Kyo's eyes immediately widen at that as her mouth falls slightly agape, it almost feels like somebody just punched her in the heart. "...I see." It's all she could think to say, her dazed stare never leaving his as her hand hesitantly reaches out to touch his chest, a discreet show of affection since her words are failing her so badly.
What gets her most is his heartbeat though, she can feel his organ beating like mad against her palm.
It's a very painful memory for him...
"You don't have to stay with me out of pity." He simply adds and just like that, a thousand words hit her all at once as her brows knit together, her fingers instinctively clutching onto his shirt.
"What the hell do you take me for?!" Her snappy reaction seems to be unexpected, judging by how Law's eyes subtly widen, the man looking at her as if she was some kind of strange apparition. "I expect you to have baggage, Trafalgar, everyone does! I'm not 'staying out of pity', I stay because it's what makes you human!"
As one might expect, he soon finds amusement in her fiery temper, his smirk making a swift reappearance on his face as his adept fingers caress the skin of her cheek gently. "Hm...speaking of baggage, Kyo-ya, what's with your mood all of a sudden? Is it a morning thing or a menstrual cycle thing?"
"A bit of both." She bluntly admits, her eyes begrudgingly falling closed as his nose lightly brushes against her own and a small smile tugging on her lips when he presses a brief kiss to her mouth, the doctor seemingly trying (and succeeding) to get back on her good side. "Never accuse me of staying with you out of pity again though, I find that slanderous."
He is worth so much more than that...
"Noted." He simply responds before kissing her again but far more passionately this time, Kyo's fingers combing through his messy hair while his tongue grazes her lips, asking for entrance - which she grants immediately.
Her face gradually beginning to heat up as his tongue caresses her own, his hand travelling down from her cheek and resting on her neck instead, the sensation causing a light shiver to run down her spine as she softly gasps into the kiss and making the surgeon smirk in the process, much to her dismay.
There's just something about this man that stirs her like nobody else can.
The raven eventually breaking the kiss for air as his fingers delicately brush against the soft skin of her nape, his eyes flicking open and slowly trailing down toward the area, a cheeky glimmer in his orbs as his gaze meets hers once again.
"You look real good in my shirt by the way, Kyo-ya."
Huh?!
