Home Life.

There was once a time where she hated when Mihawk left, she used to become scared.

He has always travelled far and wide for expeditions, he likes to find artefacts for the museum, usually ancient weapons - swords most notably.

The man could name every weapon in history and link them to the person who owned it, it has admittedly crept out other historians in the past but Dracule Mihawk is not one to care for what other's think.

With how successful the museum is, one would assume his intelligence has paid off.

Her eyes focused on her history book once again as her phone vibrates, drawing a small glance from the girl as a message lights up on screen.

Pa:

"Check in on Drake from time to time while I'm away, he's new so he may need assistance."

The girl merely humming to herself as her attention diverts back to the page of her book, taking a mental note to check in on the new boy soon. Drake, from her understanding, is a palaeontologist with a deep fascination for reptiles and astrophysics...basically, he's a giant nerd which works very well for a museum employee.

He was originally just a weekend night guard while earning his degree but now that he has passed, he has been accepted into a more active position by Mihawk, apparently the boy is very impressive.

The redhead sighing to herself as a loud and hollow knock echoes throughout the building, one of the downsides to living in a castle is the size of the place; human hands cannot be heard when knocking on the door so Mihawk had a large doorknocker installed, the knock is loud enough to be heard now but since the building is so big, the noise echoes and can be alarming sometimes.

Her eyes never leave the book however, her brows furrowing as another knock sounds, urging her to begrudgingly rise to her feet.

It's an unspoken rule between her and Mihawk, they always ignore the first knock since it's likely nothing of import, however if they persist and knock again then it may be wise to answer. The girl marking her page once again before closing the book and making her way down the stairs, her frown only deepening when a third knock sounds while she's halfway down the staircase.

This better be urgent.

Finally opening the door upon reaching it, her brown eyes land on a somewhat unexpected sight; Thatch carrying a small see-through container, she immediately notices the food sat inside it, causing her brow to quirk.

"If Ace has you believing there's going to be a party here, I'm afraid he's mistaken." Her somewhat cold response only draws a chuckle from the man's lips though as he hands the food over to her.

"Not at all, this one's for you." His cheerful voice certainly confuses her, stepping aside and allowing the brunette to enter as her eyes take note of the small pastries inside the tub; there's jam tarts, bacon and cheese turnovers, mini sausages, cauliflower and little chocolate sticks. "Sabo said you forget to eat when Hawk-eyes isn't around so I made you some food, keep it in your study then you'll find yourself eating it without realizing."

She doesn't quite know how to respond to that, her brows still furrowed but more in shock than irritation this time, her orbs never leaving the container as she lowly hums to herself. "I...appreciate it?"

Kind deeds weird this girl out, she won't deny that.

Her and Thatch have always been on mildly friendly terms but this is the first time he has bought food to her. The brunette's expression suddenly darkening as his head tilts slightly to the side.

"Hmph...you should eat sooner rather than later, you're looking a little sick." As insensitive as he might sound, he isn't wrong. She has always been rather pale but her skin is harbouring a slightly green tint to it and her eyes have been half-lidded most of the day, not to mention the dark circles under her eyes.

She is fully aware of her appearance though.

"I don't think eating will help much," She simply mumbles, setting the container down on a nearby side-table before her eyes meet with his once again. "It's just stress, it'll go away soon. Is there anything else you wanted?"

Naturally the brunette smirks, it's all too clear that she's trying to get rid of him so she can throw herself back into her studies and probably make herself more sick in the process, he could let her get on with that since it doesn't necessarily effect him.

However; "Yes, while I'm here, I'd like a coffee."

Her eyes slightly widening at his request before they fall closed, a pout on her lips as she inhales deeply, making it abundantly clear that she doesn't want to make him a damned drink.

But for reasons unknown, she cannot be rude to this man.

"Fine. Do you take sugar?" Her voice harbouring a subtle growl as she begins to head for the kitchen, the brunette picking up the food he bought before following behind her with a careless smile, he certainly has that in common with Ace.

"Two, please."

The girl is quick to get started on the drink while Thatch takes a seat at the dining table, opening the snack box and waiting for her to bring his drink over before he plucks a chocolate stick from the container, watching as she attempts to leave the room but he stops her short with a single question.

"You aren't worried I'll break something?"

He's baiting her to stick around and she knows it; trying to make her believe that if she goes back to studying then he will ruin something which will ultimately get her into trouble, but Thatch isn't the kind to break stuff...

At least she didn't think he was, though she finds herself wondering if that's truly correct or not.

Mihawk would be mad with her if he thought she damaged something but if she said it was Thatch, a man, he'd be even worse. Hawk-eyes has always been very strict on the idea of her dating, she's simply not allowed and sure, she might be 21 now but these 'no boyfriend' rules are deep-rooted, she needs to focus on becoming an assistant curator, nothing else.

Hell, he was annoyed enough by her being mere friends with Ace and Sabo.

So yes, if Thatch breaks something, she'll have to take the wrap.

But she's a terrible liar at the best of times, Mihawk is especially somebody she cannot fool.

"...Very well, I will sit with you, if that's what you want."

"Mhm~! Have some food too, won't you~?"

"...Of course."

He said Sabo sent him here, yes? I'll remember that, Sabo.
