Good Morning.

The redhead frowns as she stares at her reflection in the bedroom mirror, her music playing in the background, most of the songs she listens to were introduced to her by Ace though. He's always loved classic and modern rock, as well as a bit of punk.

This particular song: Sugar We're going down by Fall Out Boy - if she's not mistaken.

She never got to listen to music aloud at home since she was always so busy studying and found the songs mildly distracting. Not to mention, Mihawk didn't much care for the songs she'd play.

The girl scooping her hair up into ponytail before she finally leans in closer to the mirror to assess the damage, already applying some concealer to the small bags under her eyes.

She had just gotten rid of them.

Sleeping was practically impossible last night; she spent the entire time tossing and turning, occasionally getting up to knock on Lotte's door to make sure the girl was still alive, of course she mostly received incoherent groans but at least Lotte didn't die or anything.

Well, hopefully not, anyway.

Since she knows the concealer will eventually fade over time, she also uses her mascara and eyeliner to give herself a slightly smoky-eyed look, at least nobody will comment on how 'shitty' she appears when they think it's intentional.

She had been wrestling with the idea of cancelling the coffee date for hours on end, her dark eyes trailing toward her phone, pressing the home button and reading the time as it displays on the screen before applying her lipstick.

7am...just hold yourself together for a few more hours.

She can at least hear her roommate stirring around in the kitchen, a very microscopic wave of relief washing over her at the sounds while she adjusts her skirt, at least she won't have to try and wake the brunette now.

She stares at the reflection for a while longer, her mind arguing back and forth with itself.

It's too much, you're only going for coffee.

No, it looks normal. You've dressed like this for work before.

Your skirt is too short, he'll think you're a harlot.

A sigh pushing past her lips while she tugs the skirt down slightly, her brows only knitting together when the end result looks worse, leading to her pulling the clothing up once again before leaving the room.

A deep frown plastered across her face as she makes her way into the main room, earning herself a pained groan when she pulls her bedroom door shut behind her, Lotte currently sat at the dining table with her elbows propped up on the surface and her face buried into her palms.

"Must you be so loud first thing in the morning?!"

"Oh, my apologies," A sarcastic tone lacing Kyo's words as she grabs her handbag and slams it down on the table beside her roommate, drawing yet another whine from the girl's lips. "I didn't mean to be so loud."

"Ugh, liar...where's your headache?" The brunette looking beyond dishevelled as she peeks up at the redhead through a gap in her fingers, the light being far too harsh on her sensitive eyes today. "You drank just as much as I did..."

How delusional is this woman?

"I don't even think I drank a third of what you did." She did after all spend most of the night chatting with Law, silently considering whether or not to tell Lotte about the little coffee date but she ultimately decides against it when her phone begins to vibrate, words lighting up on the screen and drawing in her gaze while Lotte presses her hands to her ears.

"Papa calling..."

A cold sweat immediately washing over Kyo's face as she reaches for the cellphone, her heart stiffening inside her chest as horror fill her eyes, clicking the answer button before pressing the speaker to her ear.

"H-Hello?"

He hasn't heard about the party, has he? About the coffee, perhaps?

"I have an assignment for you." His deep voice rumbling in response, seemingly not at all interested in small talk, Lotte's hands finally dropping from her face as she glances up at Kyo with a curious brow raised. "I'm growing tired of the Napoleon exhibit, I want the layout changed."

"The layout?"

So he wants all the same things but in a different order?

"You'll be in charge of everything, from the design down to the plaques, avoid foul language and spelling errors obviously." This is the first time she has been entrusted with such a task, her eyes wide as a hesitant smile spreads across her lips, she could hardly believe it. "Do you understand?"

"Yes, I will handle it! Thank you for this opportunity, pa!" The man only responding with a grunt before ending the call, solace as well as a bit of pride rising in her chest and it's in this moment that she finally notices Lotte's wide smile.

"...What?" Apparently it's only okay for her to stare at people.

"You look nice today, I'd never guess you were at a party just a few hours ago." The brunette chimes with clear strain in her voice, her make-up from last night still smudged across her sweaty face and her hair a tousled mess, though one would argue she still looks nice for someone struggling with a hangover. "What's your secret?"

"The blood of my enemies."

"Wow, that explains why your surname sounds so similar to Dracula." The quick remark drawing a chuckle from the redhead's lips, something that has her roommate's mouth falling agape as surprise fills her orbs. "Hey, you have a sense of humour! Who knew?"

Kyo immediately bringing the back of her hand to her lips at that, in attempts to hide her smile whilst also trying to avoid smearing her lipstick in the process, she was always encouraged against expressing herself too much above all.

"But really," The brunette chimes once again, drawing in Kyo's gaze. "You look good, what is it for?"

The truth might be the best thing to answer with here, Lotte has a right to know technically, it's her cousin and roommate after all - but it is just coffee.

Would she usually tell Sabo if she was going for a coffee with Ace?

No, because there's no need to.

"I have a meeting over lunch, I wish to look presentable for it."

"Hah~! A meeting, eh~?" One might've called Lotte an idiot last night but she can certainly smell a rat from a mile away even while she's feeling rough, the teasing smile on her lips being enough to express that she does not buy the redhead's response in the slightest but eventually she shrugs it off. "Who with? Do I know 'em~?"

That question she can't quite answer, she could try to lie but that wouldn't be too wise, so far Lotte seems rather good at reading her.

"I have to go to work." The redhead deciding to end the topic completely, hitching her bag over her shoulder before she begins heading for the door. "You should drink some pickle juice, Ace always said it cured his hangovers."

"Oi!" The brunette's sudden change of tone actually managing to stop Kyo in her tracks, curiosity adorning her features as she glances back over to the dining table. "You haven't had any breakfast yet!"

Those words are quite enough to make Kyo's skin crawl, a sickly feeling already beginning to set inside her stomach at the mere thought. "I'm on a time limit, I'll eat something for dinner later."

"That's hours away, you'll starve by then! Are you stupid or something?!" Lotte argues once again, her hand noticeably returning back to her forehead as her shouting causes the pain to throb, her free hand gesturing toward some snacks she had bought and piled up on the counter. "At least take a penguin bar with you!"

"A penguin bar?" Kyo questions with a small glare in her eyes, she doesn't much like being yelled at but in this case, Lotte is hurting herself so she needs no further punishment.

"The chocolate bars with the penguin design." The volume of her voice is at least lowering a little now. "They have little jokes on the back, might even make you crack another smile."

Naturally Kyo pouts in subtle protest but she still feels Lotte's eyes watching her every move, clearly making sure she does as she's asked so reluctantly, she takes a bar of chocolate before heading out.

Upon sitting herself down in her car, she drops her handbag in the passenger seat before bringing the bar into her vision and reading the joke to herself.

"Why was the penguin's head so cold?" She ponders to herself for a moment, trying to work out what the answer could possibly be but she comes up with nothing, jokes aren't her strong suit, sadly. Lifting the the slip of paper with the joke on it, she finds the answer hidden underneath. "Because he wore an ice cap..."

She refuses to chuckle at such a stupid joke however she can't quite help the small smile playing on her painted lips, no matter how much she tries to conceal it, finally setting the bar down on top of her bag while starting the car.

Of course the smile doesn't last long when a sudden realization hits her.

Sabo still has my camera.
