Bailed Out.
What a truly depressing place...
Kyo's eyes scan the décor of the police station's waiting room; most of the chairs are old and creaky with rips in the fabric, the walls are just bricks that had been painted white and she can already spot some chewing gum stuck to the underside of the worn coffee table sat before her. The vile smell of grease, alcohol and sweat fills the air.
Luckily for her, Lotte has connections through Doflamingo so Kid and Law will be allowed out in exchange for some cash and merely given a warning for disturbing the peace.
"Do these two often fight, miss Donquixote?" One of the junior officer's questions, earning himself a slight scoff from Lotte in return whilst Kyo subtly reads the name displayed on his uniform.
Grount...how peculiar.
"Kid loves a good fight but Law is usually better behaved." The brunette calmly voices while leaning back in her seat, a frown etched into her features and her arms folded over her chest. "I should've known this would happen, they've never really gotten along, I just thought they'd make the damn effort."
"Huh?" The boy's head tilting somewhat at that as his brow quirks, though his expression is quick to morph as he seems to grasp understanding of what she means. "Oh, they weren't fighting with each other. They were caught fighting somebody else."
"Hm?" Both Kyo and Lotte hum in sync, their brows rising as they both eyeball the rookie cop, only drawing a small snicker from him in the process before he begins to explain further.
"Sorry, I thought Akainu told you!" Unbeknownst to this young man, Akainu hates Doflamingo and doesn't want to let the prisoners out on bail but thankfully, he isn't in charge around here so he's forced to do as told, he's actually retrieving the two from their cells in this moment, with a few men ready to back him up if need be - of course. "Yeah, they got in a fight with a DJ outside the bar, they weren't attacking each other."
"Idiots." Lotte hisses while Kyo merely pouts, she knows Law is a tough man despite his more quiet nature but it isn't like him to go out looking for fights, not even when he's intoxicated.
Nor is he easily manipulated so she can't imagine that Kid made him attack somebody.
How strange.
"Yup, I can't tell you too much 'cause you're a civilian but Apoo is involved in some shady shit so the law is going a little easy on your men. You're lucky." The boy cheerfully informs, the redhead can't help but notice how he lightly bounces somewhat in his seat when he speaks, it's almost as if he's hyperactive.
Well, doing this job, he likely has to be.
Though she can't help but ponder that name; Apoo.
Isn't he the DJ that attends Ace's functions? He doesn't get along with Kid and Law?
It's odd to her, she doesn't recall Law taking any notice of the man at her birthday party.
A loud clang drawing both her gaze as well as Lotte's to a large gate leading out of the small cellblock, Kid exiting the space first with a frown but still radiating a sense of confidence, even while Akainu guides him out personally.
Following closely behind is Law, the raven looking far less confident and more irritated, he's being lead by another cop but this one is a tall lady with pink hair and sunglasses.
Lotte being the first to rise to her feet and approach Kid, giving him a tight hug and muffling something incoherent into his chest before she swiftly pulls away and slaps him around the face. Hard. "What the hell were you thinking?!"
She doesn't miss how Akainu subtly smirks at the sight either while removing the brute's cuffs.
Seems he is willing to let assault slide so long as the person receiving the treatment deserves it.
"He started it, Birdie! I was defending your fuckin' honour!" Somehow Kyo doubts that but Eustass isn't her business, her attention instead focusing on Law, not missing the mildly embarrassed look in his eyes.
"You get off lightly for now but no more trouble, Trafalgar." The pink-haired lady voices while removing the raven's handcuffs also, only earning herself a small frown from the doctor in return.
"I wasn't causing any trouble, I was trying to check his airways!" Finally it's beginning to piece itself together, the pinkette merely huffing at his claims but anyone who knows Law would say this fits, he wouldn't attack without good reason but if Kid were to attack somebody in his presence, he might be willing to check if they're alright in the aftermath - if he's feeling sympathetic.
Apart of her wants to hug him like Lotte did to Kid but Law isn't as open with public displays of affection, it might just make him feel worse so instead, she just takes his hand in her own while calmly leaning herself into his side.
"I'm sorry." She quietly murmurs under her breath upon resting her head against the raven's arm, she can feel him stiffening at her words but he doesn't vocally respond, instead just glaring at Kid.
Of course, she can't blame him for his annoyance, he didn't even want to go out tonight and she made him. Lord knows she'd be pretty pissed off herself if she was in his position.
Tonight really isn't going too well.
But at least he hasn't rejected her touch.
"Never again, Lot-ya." He finally grumbles, drawing in his cousin's gaze although her pout could surely put his own to shame, her eyes burning with rage as she offers a small nod of her head, it's only when Law begins to leave that her sights return to Kid.
"What the fuck were you trying to do, exactly? Get my cousin fired? Burn every potential bridge you had?!"
"We were getting along fine until Scratchmen opened his fucking mouth--!"
"I don't give a shit if he poured a drink over you, there's a time and a place, this wasn't it!"
If those two are arguing, it usually means make-up sex is right around the corner, Kyo already grimacing at the thought whilst following Law outside; he's always a quiet man but tonight he's more so than usual and considering these events were partly her fault, she can't help but find his silence discomforting.
"I'm parked over here, Trafalgar." She eventually murmurs while tugging on his hand gently to gain his attention. "I'll take you home, if you wish." Though she soon wishes she had just kept her mouth shut when he turns to her, his expression is mostly blank but his eyes carry an annoyance to them, a very vague frown dampening his features as he stares down at her.
For once, she'd rather he just yelled at her and get it over with.
"I could've lost my job tonight, Kyo-ya." But he speaks very monotonously and in a way, that's worse.
"How was I supposed to know he'd start a fight?"
"Because he's Eustass Kid." A very good point he raises, she can't argue with that, even if she wanted to. "Next time, just accept my original answer." His emotion is difficult to pick up on, he doesn't sound particularly pleased but he doesn't sound angry either, it's difficult to pinpoint his exact feelings but whatever they are, they're unpleasant.
"Very well." There's really nothing else for her to say, her hand instinctively releasing his own as she takes a subtle step back in order to grant him some much-needed space, still maintaining her cold and indifferent façade despite feeling every stage of anxiety imaginable in this moment. "Would you like a ride home or--"
"I'd rather walk, it helps me sober up."
She would really like to convince him to take a ride home instead but considering he had just told her to respect his decisions, she gathers that it wouldn't be her wisest idea, instead just offering a small nod of understanding and watching as he begins to leave - taking notice of his walk pattern the most to ensure he isn't staggering or wobbling in any way but thankfully, he seems mostly sturdy.
The girl hesitating for a brief moment before she finally decides to call out to him;
"Be sure to let me know when you're home, Trafalgar!"
Of course he doesn't vocally respond, only offering a lazy wave over his shoulder.
But considering it's Law, he could've done worse.
He's not above flipping people off after all.
What a mess...
