Back To Work.

A small pool of anxiety begins to set in Kyo's stomach as Law pulls up in the carpark in his blue Peugeot 207, the raven was considerate enough to give her a ride to work since he slept over the previous night, he didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone after their talk about her mother.

She had also told him that she has scars leftover from the treatment but didn't go into great detail nor show them, not that he seemed to mind, he just listened and comforted her when she needed it. He had so much patience.

He never once complained about having to sleep through the music, not about the fairy lights that she keeps on throughout the night since she doesn't exactly like the dark and nor did he mind her clinging to him all night long.

He was perfect.

"Do you need me to pick you up later?" He asks as his golden orbs watch her grab her handbag, a vague smile plastered across her lips as her gaze meets his, apart of her was expecting him to become less attracted upon finding out her background but it would seem she was wrong.

"No, I think my shift ends long before yours so I'll make my own way back." She answers this mainly because she doesn't know if she'll be told to leave immediately upon entering or not, with her father it's hard to tell. "Thank you though."

The redhead leaning over to plant a gentle kiss to the surgeon's lips, an action that seems to surprise him but he still responds to it regardless before lightly smirking to himself. "You seem to be growing more comfortable with me, Kyo-ya. You never used to initiate the kiss."

His observation naturally gaining him a playful glare, a small pout etched into her features as she opens the car door, voicing a low; "Shut up, Trafalgar." before climbing out of the vehicle and pushing the door closed behind her, not missing how he subtle snickers at her response before starting the engine again, she watches him leave before finally entering the museum.

The first thing she sees upon stepping foot through the doors is large crowds of people, none of them looking at all familiar and some even being quite rude, standing in the centre of the room whilst conversing with each other and not responding to the words 'excuse me' which very quickly leads to the girl shoving them aside.

Her somewhat coarse treatment earning her a few glares and tuts in return but she couldn't care less, she notices immediately how Drake's eyes light up the second he notices her approach the receptionist's desk, the boy releasing a sigh of relief.

"Thank god you're back!"

"What the hell is going on today?"

"They're tourists, they weren't planned to come here, it's just where they've chose to--"

"Excuse me!" One of the guests interrupt, immediately drawing a frown to the redhead's features as Drake's attention shifts toward them, the poor boy trying to remain polite despite his stress. "She pushed in, I was here first!"

"She's the assistant curator, don't worry she isn't getting any special treatment." He explains with a kind tone, Kyo simply deciding to let him handle this one since she doesn't have the patience to deal with entitled guests right now, the male's expression soon dampening once again as he diverts his focus back toward her face. "Madam Dracule, I'm so sorry but I need a break, my feet are killing me and I haven't eaten yet."

"No need to apologize, go eat. I'll take over for now." She murmurs, already in the process of circling around the desk as Drake rushes off, taking a small breath to brace herself as her brown orbs rest on the person who intercepted her conversation with Drake prior; it's a large woman with frizzy hair, half of it is dyed ginger and the other half is blonde, a pair of pointed glasses covering her eyes and a large smile on her lips. "How can I help you?"

"Some professionalism wouldn't go amiss."

"Oh good, you're one of those women." Kyo sarcastically mutters, about to ask the lady what exhibits she is hoping to see but before she gets the chance, she's interrupted.

"Did you just call me beautiful~? Oh, I might forgive you now~!"

"...I said no such thing." Her brows furrowing in mild confusion as she stares up at the woman, she can't tell exactly how old she is but she certainly isn't young, leading her to wonder if she may be going senile. "What kind of exhibits were you looking for? I can't give you a tour yet but I can direct you--"

"Art, I'm very creative as you can see from my hair~!" The lady essentially sings her sentence as her fingers playfully fluffs her locks, it would seem she's rather proud of her style. "Do you dye your hair too~? It looks dyed~!"

"N--"

"It doesn't look as beautiful as mine but it's not horrible~!" A sigh finally drifting from Kyo's lips as her eyes roll in exasperation, she doesn't care about the lady insulting her appearance but being constantly interrupted is beginning to get on her nerves.

Why did I take over from Drake? I should have just stayed home.

"I presume you would just like an adult ticket, yes? You aren't here with grandkids or any other poor soul?"

"Are you asking if I'm single~?" The woman asks in a somewhat flirtatious tone, plucking her credit card from her purse and handing it over to the redhead, allowing her to scan it whilst she continues. "Because I am but you aren't my type, I'm afraid~!"

"Aw, my heart bleeds..." She mutters upon finally scanning the card and handing it back to the woman with the visitors ticket. "The art gallery here is small but I'm sure you'll find something you like, it's opposite the space exhibit."

Her brown orbs watching as the woman proudly walks away with her shoulders pinned back and her chest pushed out, she is peculiar that's for sure, the redhead forcing a smile when the next tourist approaches the counter. "Hello, how can I help you?"

This one is a man, tall with dark slicked back hair, a large scar across his face and an unlit cigar sat between his lips. "I want to talk to Dracule."

Hm?

"Okay, which one?"

"Mihawk preferably, but I'll talk to his brat if I have to." He calmly murmurs, taking a lighter from his pocket and bringing it up to the tip of his cigar, though the second she sees the flame, Kyo blows it out before it has a chance to light the tobacco.

"You can't smoke that thing in here." Her reaction only earning a sigh from the male's lips as he removes the cigar from his mouth and holds it instead while muttering about how he's been waiting in line for ages and needs a smoke. "I'm Dracule Kyo by the way, otherwise known as the brat, what do you need?"

She doesn't miss how the man begins looking her up and down, his brows lazily quirked as he studies her, a small scoff escaping his throat. Clearly he doesn't find her visually impressive.

That's the second time today.

"My name is Crocodile, I own a casino and I've come across some coins that can't be used in my business. You may think of them as a donation, if you like."

"Donation?" She echoes, observing as he takes a plastic bag filled with coins out of his suit pocket and sets them down on the counter, she can already see one of them has a bunny rabbit engraved onto it whilst another looks ancient, they're likely worth something. "So what are you hoping to get in return? Businessmen don't just give away things like this."

I'm not even sure if we can use them for any exhibits.

"What are you doing here?" A third grumpy voice intercepts, Kyo's confidence immediately boiling away into nothing as she glances over her shoulder, her orbs locking onto her father. He looks rather stressed as it is, a deep frown etched into his sweaty features as his hand restlessly unfastens a couple of buttons on his white dress shirt, further irritation filling his eyes when he sees the long line of tourists leftover.

"It's not easy running this place alone, is it?" The redhead questioning as she steps aside, allowing the hawk-eyed male to clearly see Crocodile as well as the coins whilst she continues, his cold stare certainly unsettling her but she feigns indifference. "Mr. Crocodile wants us to have these coins, apparently."

She's barely finished speaking when Mihawk reaches out to the bag, his pale fingers taking a single coin from within and inspecting it closely, eventually turning it over and analysing the back before he returns it to the plastic.

"It's old and has Julius Caesar on it so it's likely from ancient roman times, I'll have Kyo take a look at the rest tonight." The girl immediately frowning at those words as her sharp stare flickers up to her father, though he completely ignores it naturally. "Are you sure you don't want them? If they all turn out to be legitimate, they could make you a lot of money."

"Hmph. I'd have to take them to auctions for that and I'm a busy man, Hawk-eyes." Crocodile carelessly grumbles, a slight smirk tugging on his lips as his stare shoots back toward Kyo. "I do expect a favour in future though."

Of course he does.

"It depends on what this favour is." Mihawk answers on the redhead's behalf, the raven immediately stepping in front of her and subtly acting as a barrier between herself and Crocodile, something that silently irritates the girl immensely.

What? Does he think I'm going to mess up?

"I want a ring." Crocodile's eyes now focused on Mihawk's instead, seemingly not too fazed by the hawk-like irises burning into his features, his smirk never fading. "It was said to belong to Blackbeard himself and is being passed around the city, I expect it to come through here at some point. I want it for my collection."

"In exchange for a few old coins?"

"Some of these coins have Napoleon on them, Hitler, Stalin, I know your museum would appreciate them." That piques Kyo's interest, the museum doesn't really specialise in coins so she was sceptical but with these historical figures, the items may fit in with certain displays very well.

Seems Mihawk has a similar thought process, judging by the small glimmer of captivation in his eyes. "I'll have the rest analysed tonight, if they're legitimate then we'll discuss the deal further." Kyo patiently waits for Crocodile to leave before her stare snaps back toward her father, about to open her mouth to speak but it would seem he knew exactly what she was going to say and beats her to the punch. "Yes, you're free to get back to work since we're busy, I want those coins reviewed tonight though. And you can give the next group a tour, I'll take over reception for now."

This is why we need a receptionist...

"Of course, pa. I'll handle it."
